“Tell me why my kind, the Phoenix, is so special and sought after? And that does not mean I’m going to allow Doc to claim our daughter right away. She has the right to date and stuff; you can’t take that way. Prom, high school dances and things like that,” she said, relaxing a little more as he pushed her forward and started to rub her back and neck down.

“You didn’t have that, did you, little fire?”

She shook her head. “No, Mom home schooled me. We were too afraid of someone finding us.” Nava smiled. “I sort of had a prom. My mom and dad one night put up tons of little Christmas lights in our tiny backyard, decorations Mom had made and called me out back where my father and mother proceeded to teach me every dance they could think of.” She peeked over her shoulder at him. “I really miss them.”

“I’m so sorry, little fire. If I could bring them back for you, I would.”

“Question, if my grandmother can float around here, can’t my parents come to Magic too? I mean it wouldn’t be the same, but knowing they were around so I could to speak to them,” she asked.

“I don’t know. Your friend is here that died recently, so I don’t see why they shouldn’t be able to come here. Maybe we should ask Topper or Drake; they could find out. Even your grandmother might know what happened to them. Because it sounds like your parents loved you very much, and I believe they would be here if they were able to.” She felt his breath on her right ear. “But let’s hope they don’t appear right now,” he said, running his teeth against the side of her neck.

Her nipples hardened, and Nava swore her blood started to heat up as Saxon lifted her up and turned her, so she was facing him. He reached up and cupped her face, holding it in his hands, staring in her eyes. “For the last few days I’ve spent beside you, I’ve come to realize I can’t be separated from you, little fire.” He took a deep breath, resting his forehead against hers. “I know—

Nava placed a finger over his mouth, stopping his words. “Time seems of little importance right now, don’t you think? Look at what we have been given in the last few days. A new family, brothers, and sisters. A daughter and a warm home, but above all, you, Saxon, have become the center of my life in that short space of time.” She leaned in and placed a little kiss on his lips. “My mother always told me I’d know when I’d find the right man. That my heart and body would belong to him and no one else.” Nava smiled. “You should have seen Mom’s face when I asked what she meant about the body. My dad laughed and explained a few things to me. To say it was embarrassing, well yeah.”

“That is one conversation I can wait for with our little girl,” Saxon said, nipping her lower lip before bending her backward and sucking one of her nipples into his mouth, staring at her the whole time.

“Saxon,” she whispered, holding onto his head as he played with her breasts.

He reached up and twisted her other nipple with his fingers. “Will you give yourself to me tonight, my little fire? I want to make you burn tonight. Will you allow my claim?” he asked inside her head, still sucking on her, holding and watching.

“I knew when I bumped into you on the street the other day that you would be the one to take what I had saved for this night. But a girl has to allow her man to chase her a little, no?” she asked, running her hand over his short, stubbled hair.

Saxon released her nipple, placing a kiss on it before placing a trail of kisses up her neck until he got to her mouth. “I’ll always chase you, my little fire. No matter where you go, I’ll be right beside you, making sure your flame burns deep and bright for me, only me.” He growled, covering her mouth in a kiss that lit the burning passions inside her.

He stood, water dripping from him, as he broke the kiss. Saxon didn’t say a word as he carried her to the bed and softly placed her at the end of it with her feet dangling off the edge. He reached down, lifting one of her legs, placing kisses all down her leg before placing her foot on the edge of the bed before turning to do the next. The way he had her laid out, open for him to see everything she was, had her drawing her legs together.

“No, little fire. I want you open. I intend to play for just a bit tonight,” he said, lowering himself to his knees. “Mine.”

She was about to say yes, but nothing came out as he lowered his mouth and pushed his tongue right into her. “Saxon!” She grabbed onto the bed quilt and held on as he made love to her with his mouth. In and out, little nibbles to her thighs, sucking her nub with his fingers rubbing some little spot that had her burning so bad she saw stars. When she finally could put two thoughts together, Nava realized Saxon was standing at the end of bed watching, stroking his cock back and forth with a satisfied smile on his face.

“Welcome back, little fire. Turn around, on your hands and knees. Give yourself to me,” his voice dark, deep and a tiny bit of a whip to it.

Nava glanced down at his cock and realized it was time, that he had given her a sample of his loving before his claiming. Nava whimpered as she slowly moved to position herself for him.

She glanced down as he grabbed hold of her hips and brought her back a little, so her knees were on the end of the bed. His gaze met hers. “To claim you in the way of my people, I will be in my natural form. Are you going to be okay with this?” he asked, running his fingers over one of her ass cheeks, sending a slight chill up her spine. “You’ll carry my scent as I wear yours now.” He lowered his head and ran his tongue over her wet lips, sending a quick orgasm through her when he hit her small nub.

“So ready for me. You will carry my mark, little fire.” He squeezed her ass cheeks as he shifted.

She might have fire running in her blood, but he was the ignition switch that started the actual fire. A small swat to her ass brought her back to the present. “Did you know in this form, my tongue...” he lowered his head and pushed his thick, long tongue into her, reaching that delicate membrane that she had saved for him.

His eyes seemed to dance as he stood, rubbing his cock up and down her pussy lips. “Do you accept my claim, little fire?” he growled.

“I do, but Saxon, I want a wedding when things settle down,” she said, smiling as she glanced back at him again. “With dancing and the town of Magic there as our guests since they have been so nice to me.”

He moaned but nodded. “It will be done. Hold on, little fire,” was the only warning she got as he slid the top of his cock inside her, stretching her he was so thick.

“Look at that pussy taking me in,” he said, squeezing her ass. “This is going to hurt for a second, little fire,” he growled out and pushed his cock forward, breaking the membrane, claiming her. There was no wait; her breath got stuck in her throat as the pain shocked her for a second before Nava remembered her mother’s words. “When we give our body to a special man, our pain for the first time is more intense than that of a normal person. Not only is that man claiming you, but your body will also claim him, giving him part of you that he’ll carry with him always. So, make sure this man is the one for you, Nava, because once you give that gift, there is no going back for us.” Nava remembered her warning just as Saxon’s words drew her back.

“What the... Little fire, did you forget to tell me something?” Saxon growled as he pushed all the way into her, leaning down over her small body, covering her.

The pain slowly faded, and Nava could answer his question. “Mother told me about something...” she said, glancing back at him. “Didn’t remember it ‘til you... well you know.” She moved her hips and earned a growl from him.

  Chapter Sixteen

His back burned, knowing his little fire had just branded him with her mark as he had with his. But he had a feeling her pain took away the aspect she now wore his family’s mark on the left side of her neck and down her shoulder. Yes, she was totally his, and he couldn’t be any happier.

But it would seem his mate had surfaced from the pain to needing him as he needed her. He grabbed hold of her hands and squeezed them as he started to move in and out of her pussy. Her
body accepting him into her heated tunnel had him gripping her hips tight. “Never will be a part again,” he ground out, reaching around, circling her sensitive, swollen nub, building the fire that would only end with the both of them combusting together, sealing their bond.

“I love you, little fire,” he said, placing kisses on her shoulder and neck before the demon side of him sank his teeth into her shoulder, holding her steady as he increased his pace and the force of his thrusts. Never had he been so hard, Saxon was afraid he’d come too fast and not give his woman the experience she deserved—a night of passion that lit the room and her eyes as she came, not to mention the little cries that came from her when she exploded from his touch.

Her legs started to shake, her skin clammy against his chest and her breathing came in gasps as Nava cried out as he pressed down on her swollen clit, sending her over at the same time he released his seed inside her, hoping that a child would be born from their love. One, two, three, more thrusts into her and she fell onto the bed, panting. “Not moving,” she mumbled into the blanket under her.

He licked the spot where he had buried his teeth into her shoulder. “Don’t. I’ll take care of you, little fire,” he said, sliding out of her, moaning right along with her. Saxon stood there staring down at his woman all stretched out, his seed running down the inside of her leg, and he couldn’t help but feel humble she had given her maidenhead to him, seeing the little blood, too.

“You’ll be a little sore tomorrow, and I’m afraid I got a little carried away, for that I’m sorry,” Saxon said as he moved to the bathroom, soaping up a cloth to clean her.

“And I’ll smile inside each time I move thinking of the way you claimed me,” Nava said, lifting her head up and held out her hand. “Here, give me that; I’ll clean up. You shouldn’t be cleaning up after me.”

“No, I will take care of you,” Saxon said, kneeling down between her legs, gently cleaning her, not giving her a choice.

“Are your parents really coming here?” she asked as he threw the cloth in the bathroom and scooped her up into his arms.

“There is no sense in worrying about it. We are already mated, their daughter now,” he said, pulling back the covers and laying her in the middle of the bed before crawling in next to her. He wrapped his arms around her, pulling her body into his. “Sleep, little fire, it’s been a long day, and I have a feeling tomorrow will be just as busy,” he told her, placing a kiss on the top of her head.

It didn’t take her long before her breathing evened out and Saxon heard little snores coming from her. He looked up and froze. A man and woman stood at the edge of their bed, smiling down at them. Saxon swore the woman looked just like the one in his arms. “Little fire, I think we have company,” he whispered into her ear.

“What? Is Ana...” Nava sat up in bed when she let out a cry. “Momma, Papa.” Tears rolled down her cheeks.

“Oh, baby, look at you. You’re are such a beauty,” her mother said, earning a squeak from his mate as she lifted the sheet covering her body. “Relax, I’ve seen you naked before. I think you should introduce us to your man here.”

Nava took his hand and twined her fingers with his. “Mom, Dad, I’d like you to meet Saxon.” She glanced back at him. “He’s my new world now, along with Ana.”

Her mother frowned and looked at her father. “Who is Ana?” he asked.

“My daughter. They took my eggs, Daddy. We don’t know how many of my children are out there alone,” she whispered, earning a growl from her father. Fur started to cover his skin, shocking her. “You’re a wolf?”

Her father’s gaze left his for a minute. “Yes, baby, I’m a wolf shifter, and you?” he asked Saxon.

“Demon, and it’s a pleasure to meet you. Are you two going to stick around? We have others that have passed that stay here. Matter of fact...” As if on cue, Calamity Jane appeared next to the woman, startling her.

“So, this is my granddaughter. She has my eyes. It’s good to have family here. It’s been a long time.” Jane looked over her shoulder. “But you’ll have to excuse me; I have a posse on my tail, and they’re not happy,” she said, disappearing again, but right after she left, three of the posse showed up, half-dressed, fire burning in their eyes.

“Where is that woman? And don’t you try and protect her; she needs to learn her place,” the one man said right before he found himself on his ass. “Damn it, Jane.”

“Knows her place? Really,” Jane’s voice rang out as Nava busted out laughing.

“Welcome to our new city, Momma and Papa.” Saxon’s woman laughed, curling up next to him, yawning.

Both of them shook their head and smiled. “You two, get some sleep. We’ll talk in the morning, and relax, we’re not going anywhere, pumpkin,” her father told them. “We’ll help in any way we can to track down our grandbabies if they’re out there.” Both of them disappeared.

Nava turned in his arms and threw herself at him, hugging him tightly. “I love you,” she whispered, placing kisses all over his face.

He rolled her onto her back, looking down at his woman. “And I love you, my little fire. Now, go to sleep before I’m tempted to take you again when I know you are tender.” He grumbled and started nibbling her neck down to her breast.

“But what if I want you to make love to me again? You know I’m kind of wide awake here now,” she said and tried to flip him back on his back, but he didn’t budge, smiling down at her.

“No, your health comes first. It’s been a very long day,” he rolled onto his back, pulling her to his side. “Sleep, but tomorrow morning be prepared to be ravished,” he told her.

“You don’t think my parents were waiting until we got done... you know.” She squeaked, looking at him.

“Making love, and no. I would have felt their presence. We’ll find out more tomorrow along with Drake’s news.” Saxon turned his head, looking toward the door. He had a strange feeling it had to deal with Elf, but he wasn’t about to say anything until he knew for sure.

His woman curled up against him. “I bet Momma and Papa are checking in on Ana. Just think she takes after Daddy, he’ll love it,” she whispered just before closing her eyes. His woman, his life would be a challenge loving a Phoenix, but Saxon knew he was up to it.

  * * * *

Elf stood in the doorframe of her suite staring at her friend’s room. She still couldn’t believe she was free and that two of her children were with her. But what had her confused was the fact that she was actually standing her own mother’s home. Elf had known the minute Darla had stepped onto the property where she had been held, that there was a connection to this woman. But now, it all made sense. Elf was one of those children born in a lab.

She turned and quietly shut her door, thinking of the man that was Saxon’s best friend, Kaylen. Even thinking his name sent a shiver up her spine. But right now, she couldn’t think of that as the door to the children’s door opened, and her little one stood there with tears in her eyes. “I thought it was all a dream. We’re really safe?”

For a three-year-old, Maranda was very smart and had been poked on most of her life. “We are safe,” she said, scooping up her daughter and moving back into the room and her child’s bed. “Would you like me to sleep with you?”

Her little daughter nodded, popping her thumb into her mouth and laying her head on her shoulder. As she turned to crawl in the bed, a woman with crazy colored hair appeared near her. She reached out and wrapped her arms around her tight. “I could feel your sorrow from so far away. I know I am your mother, and you are now at home, child. Believe in our town, Elf. You’re safe,” were the last words she heard as her eyes started to close as Elf lay her daughter down, crawling in next to her. “You’ll sleep without nightmares, that I promise, all of you.” The colorful woman told her as she took a deep breath, feeling safe for the first time in her life. Her new adventure just starting to begin.
