  I hold up my hand interrupting her. I am not going to argue with her about this again.

  "I have the right to love where I wish. Isn't that what you tell every couple afraid their parents won't agree to their union?"

  "It is…"

  "Then let me have whatever feelings I wish to."

  She sighs and fidgets with her gown. She looks very much like a royal now. She is not on the road all the time and Talon keeps her looking as the Empress she is.

  "Very well Cullen."

  I smile and give Talon a wink. He smiles rolling his eyes.

  "You and Talon are escaping for mischief, aren't you? I can tell by the look on your faces."

  Talon laughs.

  "We've been caught Elainne. Whatever shall we do?"

  She smiles, uses magic to turn her gown to travel garb and her jewels return to their place in her room.

  "I guess just bring him with us…again."

  Talon laughs and opens a portal.

  "Where to this time you two?" I am used to their random adventures and often join them. Both as a child and now as an adult.

  "You'll see."

  She runs through the portal and Talon shoves me in following after me. What have I gotten into this time?
