"Do you know why animals lick their wounds?" Faith asked
"Their saliva helps protect the wound from infections?" Grace asked
Grace gave a small nod. “Please don’t overdo it and don’t go doing anything rash. I know how you are.” Faith said
With Grace giving her a small nod, Faith turned around and waddles towards the chapel and walk inside closing the door behind her. Grace turned around and started running towards the back gate where the main fighting is still going on.
“Sorry Faith, but I have to protect this village,” Grace said, and she was able to save the village with the other fighters.
Lisa thanks the guards and wave goodbye and then started to follow the path walking towards the center of the village. Food stands and a few small markets are still open for the late-night adventurers or traders walking pass the village. The Village is bigger than most villages and could also be considered a small town, having only about one hundred and fifty people living in it and it’s a good place for adventures and traders to rest because the Village is right in the middle of the two neighboring kingdoms, so it’s pretty lively during the day and most of the night. Grace and Lisa walked into the middle of the village where there is a small rest area with a water fountain in the middle and seats all around it to rest. Lisa sits on one of the benches and looks up at the star sighing slightly.
"Grace... we’re leaving in a few days, aren’t we?" Lisa asked
"Yeah, I finally got information on where to find someone who knew my master. Maybe they can fill me in on what I have been training for." Grace responded
"Your master died before he could tell you anything, didn’t he?” Grace said
"Yeah, it was a mistake I had made, and it ended up costing his life. I still have regrets, but I can’t dwell on the past. My master would scold me for it. I can’t say that I am happy he is dead, but I can also look at the bright side of all of this… If you hadn’t been there that day, who knows what would have happened to me. I could be dead or worse. All in all, I’m just glad that you found me… Despite the fact, you didn’t want anything to do with me, to begin with. How did you know that?." Grace asked
Lisa holds her hand up to her chest smiling brightly with a slight blush on her face.
"It’s true we don’t know what would have happened if you had never been rescued. I’m sorry for how I treated you back in the past but…" Lisa said
"But what?" Grace asked
"Nothing... Just trust me, no matter what happened from here on out, I will do everything I can to protect you. That you have my word on." Lisa said
Grace's face blushes a crimson red, and she feels as if steam is coming out from the top of her head. Grace quickly looked down and played with her fingers trying to distract herself and trying to recollect her thoughts.
"Hey, Lisa?" Grace said in a low voice, and Lisa turned towards her. For a moment, Grace stayed silent before she raised one hand and placed it on her neck and stroked it gently. "Will you ever form the Master-Servant Pact with me? I know what you are going to say about it, that it will look like discrimination or that you own me because I’ll be having a collar around my neck, but I don’t care what people think. I want to always know where you are… So, I don’t feel so lonely when you are gone for a long period wondering if you will ever come back.”
Lisa looked at Grace and rubbed the top of her head gently. “The Master-Servant Pact is a Null-Magic Spell that is formed between two or more people: one who is the Master and the other who will be the Servant. No one knows the origins of this spell, some say Slave-Traders invented it to use for their slaves to always know their location, and others say it was a greedy king who invented it to keep his people in line. Then there are the rumors that it was invented to help traveling adventurers get a boost in their survivor skill by increasing their powers. All that we know about the spell is like I mentioned earlier. Giving the location of both master and servant at all times to anyone who has formed the pact with each other. You don’t know their exact location, but you can just feel it. It’s like warmness in the heart the closer you are the warmer it gets”. Lisa said
Grace isn’t entirely sure how Lisa know the feeling so much. As far as she knows, she has never made the pact before. But she can’t remember everything from her past, so she isn’t entirely sure either.
“The second thing is that if a servant is fighting for their master nearby, the servant will get a power boost in strength, speed, stamina, mane, and endurance making it useful when in dangerous situations. The third is if the servant betrays the master willingly or attempted to kill them, they will become paralyzed until the master undo the paralyses with a snap of his finger. That is a failsafe in case someone abuses the spell for their gain. It was originally illegal to use but somewhere down the line; it became legal so long as you can prove it isn’t being used for human-trafficking or slavery. Even so, just a demi having a collar around their neck from the Master-Servant Pack leads to a lot of trouble with other Demi-Humans. Lisa said and gave a deep sigh and get up. “I can’t answer that question right now because I am not entirely sure myself. I’ll give it some thought though. In the meantime, let me get us some food. Pork sandwich correct with chilly and cheese?” Lisa asked.
Chapter 3
Grace looks up at Lisa and gave a slight nod, but her smile had vanished, replaced with an expression of sadness. Lisa heads down the street and into the line of a food stall that specializes in pork sandwiches, and Grace just turned and looks at her reflection in the fountain. Lisa is standing in line to get the sandwiches to look back at Grace whom she knows she had upset with her reply. “It’s not that I don’t want to form the pact with her. I don’t mind if it’s what she wants. But… That will also mean she will be tied down in my troubles as well. I rather not have her endanger her life for someone like me”. Lisa thought to herself as she reached the front of the food stand and walk to it to order their food.
"Two pork sandwiches please, one with chilly and cheese. The other one just red, yellow, and white dressing, please. Oh! And two drinks." Lisa said
"Coming right up." Said the attendant
After waiting in line for a few moments, Lisa got her order and head back to meet Grace who is now sitting on the edge of the water fountain, running her finger around in a circle on the surface of the water. Lisa came up from behind her and tapped the top of her head with the back of her hand.
"What are you doing?" Lisa asked
"AAAAH, Lisa!” Grace jumps at the sudden surprise of Lisa behind her while she was lost in thought. “Don’t do that. You almost made me fall into the water."
"You know my scent by now. I’m sure you could smell me coming with that fox noise of yours. Even if you’re not a fox, you should be able to tell I was coming." Lisa said
Grace puffs her cheeks out slightly and puts her hand over her left shoulder to slide down her kimono slightly, exposing her shoulder. "Maybe I thought you'd like to see me all wet." She winks at Lisa while giving her a seductive look.
"Not really. Now, here is your pork sandwich. Just like how I know you like it." Lisa said.
Grace extended her hands after fixing her kimono and took the sandwich and the drink. "Yummy. Thank you."
Grace and Lisa sit together to eat their sandwiches and drink for a while enjoying the light snow falling until they finish their meal.
"Come, let’s go home before it gets late and you oversleep again," Kai said to Grace as she gets up and brushed the small amount of snow off her legs and shoulders. Grace got up and followed behind Lisa as they make their way out of the plaza and into some housing on the side. Lisa walked in front of a small two-story house and opened the door. Lisa walked in, and Grace followed behind her and went to turn on a small light crystal to illuminate the darkened house.
"Well, we should hurry up and bath before going to sleep since you will be sleeping here tonight; You go first Grace, I’ll restock the food box with fresh ice crystals to make sure th
e food doesn’t spoil," Lisa said
"Alright...” Grace stated as she began to go up the stairs to go to the bathing room. “Don’t peak while I’m in there bathing... Not that I’ll stops you." Grace said and winked as she turned around walking upstairs, her boobs swaying from side to side with enjoyment.
Lisa turned into the kitchen and sigh. "She can be a hand full sometimes," Lisa said
Lisa walked into the kitchen and opened the wooden door to the food box and opens a small container inside it with crystals that look darkened indicating they are out of magic. Lisa took the old crystals out and replaced them with the new one he had just gotten from the cabin before leaving. Taking them in her hand and squeezing them to activate. The fresh ice crystals release a low cool breeze that won't freeze anything inside the sealed box but is cold enough to keep the food inside the box at a stable temperature and makes the food inside it last longer.
“That should do the trick” Lisa said to herself as she closed the container and cold air seeped from the small holes on the container, so it reaches the food inside the box. Lisa closed the box and stood up hearing the water running upstairs along with humming. “She must already be in the bath”. Lisa think to himself as she turned the lights off downstairs and heads upstairs. Looking down the hallway, Lisa can see the door to the bathroom has been left open slightly as if to give a sign to come inside. Lisa walked to the door and reached for the handle before stopping and shaking her head.
“No! Even if I want to close it, I shouldn’t. I might be tempted myself.” Lisa thought to herself and turned around and head into their room. She sat on a bed made of hay and wrapped in bears skin with a cloth over it, Lisa lies on her back and put both her arms around the back of her head and closed her eyes thinking about what to do with Grace’s request.
“She means well, and she is a good person… Sweet and Innocent with soft silky skin… No, what am I thinking? Because she is sweet and innocent, she shouldn’t be involved with me. Honestly, I just wish she would leave me and would live her life with happiness and find someone to love. Marry and maybe start her own family. A life with me will just lead her into living in the water.”
Lisa suddenly remembered something from her past. It was short, but she knows it all too well — She is a shifter, she was a mermaid that started living among human because of the love she have for Grace since the first day she saw her right from inside the river. The vision vanished as swiftly as it comes, but Lisa knew she needed to tell her someday. Lisa opened her eyes as she feels pressure on her clit only to be met with Grace who is sitting on top of her.
Water drips from Grace’s hair onto Lisa's chest as she had not taken the time to dry herself off yet. Lisa looks down at her body only to see she is wearing nothing but the skin on her body, not even a towel to cover herself up. Lisa ran her eyes up her body until her eyes meet hers and just concentrated on looking into her crystal blue eyes shimmering in the moonlight. Grace leaned forward and wrapped her arms around Lisa’s neck, her nose resting on Lisa and her lips only inches away from Lisa as if she is about to kiss her. Lisa can feel the warmness of her breath escaping her lips, breathing gently onto her. However, this doesn’t bother her in the slightest. Her bare breast pressed firmly into her chest and even with Lisa’s coat still on, she can feel the softness from them, and Lisa can feel every part of them press onto her. Grace has her eyes closed but soon opened them slowly and look directly into Lisa ocean blue eyes.
Before Lisa can say anything though, Grace moved her head and placed her cheek along with Lisa’s. Lisa can feel her soft, tender lips gently pecking at Lisa’s ear.
“Lisa …” Grace began to speak in a whispering, almost sadden tone. “You don’t understand… Do you? I am living my life with happiness; my happiness is being together with you. I don’t care about having a family of my own as long as I can spend my days with you… That’s all I want, and that’s all that will make me happy. So don’t go trying to get rid of me. I made my choice even when you disapproved. I don’t care where your life leads you or what battles may come. As long as I’m by your side, nothing will make me happier.” Grace said
Lisa can feel the tears coming from her eyes on her skin. Lisa lowered her eyes. Had she heard everything? I was sure I was thinking these thoughts, but I guess I was talking out loud. Lisa thought to herself, raised her arms and hugged Grace tightly but gentle as to calm her. Maybe Lisa had been thinking too much into this. Maybe the answer is just as simple as giving Grace what she wants. Even though she is still hiding many secrets from her. She will have to tell her eventually, but for now…
They should get some rest. I can shower in the morning. Lisa told herself as she began to take off all her clothing leaving only her underwear on. Lisa laid down on her bed with Grace just looking at Lisa before glancing at her bed across from Lisa’s. Lisa knew what she wants to say, but she never says it. Giving a small sigh, Lisa gave Grace a heartwarming smile and opens her covers.
“Come on pretty; I’ll just find you here in the morning anyway,” Lisa said
Grace blushes brightly with the big smile coming across her face, and she jumps on top of Lisa almost as if to tackle her to the ground. Anna began to nuzzle Lisa, her cheek with hers as Lisa was now kind of slightly regretting her choice now but… At least she is happy.
“I haven’t heard you call me Grace in a long time. You only called me “Pretty” because you had forgotten my name, but I always liked it when you called me that since it's like a nickname, you gave me yourself.” Grace said as she laid down beside Lisa pressing her naked body firmly onto her. Lisa positions her arm underneath Grace’s head acting as a pillow for her, and she turned to Lisa, presses her soft pink lips onto her cheek giving a cute chu noise. Grace then grabs the blanket and places it over them leaving her legs out of the blanket as her legs don’t need to be covered to stay warm and lay her head gently on Lisa’s arm closing her eyes enjoying this moment.
“Goodnight Lisa,” Grace said
“Goodnight Grace,” Lisa said
“I lo… ov…” Grace said as she quickly fell asleep leaving Lisa to think about the last words she mumbled before she fell asleep. Love? I don’t deserve to be loved. Lisa closes her eyes picturing three big fishes in the ocean before falling asleep herself.
Chapter 4
Grace grabbed her coffee from the self-service counter and made her way out of the crowded coffee shop towards Lisa, who she knew couldn't wait to start bombarding her with questions about last night. “Come to think of it; even I didn't know what had made me do it. I guess I had given the phrase love with the flow a new meaning”. Grace thought to herself
Grace dropped in the seat in front of her. Lisa looked up at her with that cherubic smile that she always wore but Grace knew her too well. She knew what was going beneath that angelic smile of hers.
"I know what's going on inside that head of yours." Grace said as she took a sip of her coffee.
"Actually I'm trying to decide from where I should ask my question from." Lisa said with a grin, "but now that you know how impatient I am, tell me from the beginning. I want to know everything." Lisa concluded
The time was here to recount last night for her. Even Grace didn't have time to process what had happened, but here she was, telling Lisa everything. She started from the moment she had stepped into the rest-room last night to fall asleep in the room and how much she loves Lisa. Grace didn’t leave out any detail for her, herself, needed to hear it in the light of the day. Grace ended on Lisa’s phone call and the last conversation with her over the breakfast. To Grace, she sounded like she was droning but Lisa was hanging onto her every word. Once she told her about how much she loved her, she winced. Lisa watched as her eyes shone with excitement when she told her about them having dinner tonight.
"So we can be together now?" She asked as she dug into her slice of triple chocolate cake.
Lisa shook her head. “Yes”
Whatever was between them was grea
t. It's can never be over, and they are back to their lives now.
“Was it really? Would I be able to forget those ecstasy filled moments I had spent in the river, last night and this morning? Would I be able to forget your touch which made my blood boil even while thinking about you in broad daylight? Often moments change in the blink of an eye and here we are bringing our daydreaming into reality”. Lisa said
"I think this is your chance to move on with your life and forget about your past. I think you should at least go on a dinner date with me tonight first." Grace said with a mischievous gleam in her eyes. I knew you are from the river and I know you are keeping away for my best interests, but it was simply not possible for me, not now not ever to leave you. Grace said
They sat in companionable silence for a long while in which neither of them spoke. That was the beauty of their relationship; they enjoyed each other’s company even when they had run out of conversation topics. Today, they hadn’t run out of topic, but they both were keeping their opinions to themselves. Lisa took a sip from her coffee trying to get out of the shock of realizing Grace know who she is all this time, and she looked at the digital clock on the wall. “Don’t you have work today?” Lisa asked as she collected her belongings and stood up. She looked at Grace own watch and gasped.
“Oh my God! Mayer is going to kill me today.” Grace predicted as they came out of the coffee shop.
The weekend passed in a blur with no mention of shifter between them again. It seemed that she hadn't existed in the first place. Grace followed her usual routine of having breakfast with Lisa and in record time reached the gate. Greeting everyone, Grace made her way towards the coffee shop.
After waiting for so long for Lisa who is nowhere to be found, just then Grace broke out of the coffee shop.
“Grace!” Lisa breathed.
“Lisa!” Grace acknowledged her.
