Hopeless Romantic: A College Roommate Romance (J.E.R.K Book 2)

As soon as the door shut, our mouths were on each other, kissing deeply and passionately like we were trying to make up for all the lost time. His hands cradled my ass while I ran my fingers down his neck and back. He walked us to his bed and laid me down while he hovered above me. He reached for a condom out of his nightstand and the realization that I was giving my virginity to him had my body covered in goosebumps.
He rolled it on and came back down while bracing his arms on the bed caging me in. I gave him a reassuring nod that I was positive I wanted this. He looked at me with so much care and said, “It’s going to hurt a little, but I will be as gentle as possible.” I nodded my head and braced myself for what was going to happen next.
He ran his fingers down my thighs opening my legs up for him. When he rubbed his dick up and down my slit before positioning himself to come inside me, I was ready to explode. I wrapped my legs around him while he put my hands above my head. Ezra then took a deep breath, held my hands, and slowly started to sink inside me.
I read and heard how much it hurts the first time which can make it feel awkward and not that pleasurable, but they were all wrong. Besides a pinch when he finally broke through my wall, I was met with waves of pleasure. He moaned and looked pained before saying, “Baby you feel so fucking good. Is it ok if I start to move?” I needed more of him too so I eagerly said, “Please Ezra.”
“God I love hearing you beg.” He started moving and all the nerves and worries faded away while our bodies fell in sync. It was like we rehearsed this dance many times before, that everything just felt exactly right. I felt my body start pulsating, threatening to push me over the edge, but as soon Ezra let go I was right there riding the waves with him.
He looked down at me like there were so many things he wanted to say but couldn't find the words. He tucked a strand of my hair behind my ear before rolling off me and holding me close. Before I knew it I felt myself drifting off to sleep.
Chapter Sixteen
Stella
Weeks have gone by since we first slept with each other and I couldn’t get enough of him. We spent our mornings reading together, sex, lunch, classes, sometimes quickies in an empty classroom, dinner, and again sex. We were insatiable and I wouldn’t change a thing. Well besides the sneaking around Knox. We know he said it was ok, but I was still nervous to tell him since he’s been walking around like he has a permanent rain cloud over his head.
“God I can’t wait to hear you screaming my name.” Ezra said between kisses while I started to unbutton his jeans.
“It will be hard to while mouth is wrapped around your...”
“Oh god!” Madison said while popping out from under my covers.
“Ahhh!” I screamed from being caught off guard. I end up tripping in the dark while trying to turn the light on.
“Fuck Madison, what are you doing?” Ezra said while pulling up his pants.
“I...” Madison’s mascara was smeared down her face while her eyes were puffy and her nose was red that showed she had been crying for a while now. She barely could get the words out between her sobs.
“Oh sweets, what happened?” I went right into best friend mode and asked Ezra, “Can you please grab me ice cream and a bottle of wine?”
“Double on the ice cream and no wine.” Madison said.
“No wine?” When does Madison ever say no to wine, I asked myself.
Madison looked down at her belly while saying, “I’m pregnant.”
My mouth hung open in shock and Ezra’s eyes were ready to fall out of his head. Ezra and I looked at each other in shock unable to form the words to say next. After a few seconds I snapped out of it and gave her a huge hug while saying, “Congratulations!”
Ezra came over and gave her a hug too. “Congrats. Where is the baby daddy?” I had a feeling Jude didn’t take the news that well.
At the mention of Jude, Madison wiped her tears and said, “He left. I told him and he started pacing up and down our room then without another word, he just left. What am I going to do Stella? What happens if he leaves me?”
“I’m going to kill him. Stella, I’ll be back.” Ezra said furiously.
“Ok, yeah.” Ezra gave me a kiss and stormed out of the room to most likely go find Jude and make him come to his senses.
As soon as Ezra was out of sight, Madison turned to me and said, “I can’t do this Stella. Especially if Jude leaves me.”
“Nonsense. Jude loves you more than anything in this world and he will love the baby just as much. You are going to be an amazing mother and I’ll be the coolest aunt this little one can have along with his or her crazy uncles. We will all be there for you, trust me.” Madison nodded her head and gave a small laugh while wiping her tears away.
“You’re right, I’m just scared. It’s not like me and Jude had the best role models growing up.” Madison looked lost and my heart broke for her.
“No you both didn’t, but now you know what not to do. I know for a fact you will be the best mother to this little baby.” Madison smiled while she rubbed her belly and I was in awe of her strength. Anything life threw at Madison, she always came back on top.
“Now let’s get some ice cream while we wait for Ezra to bring Jude back.” I got up from my bed and started heading to my door, but stopped when I saw Madison still sitting there.
She started to laugh and said, “Deja vu, I officially cock blocked both Ryan siblings.”
“Please don’t say that again.” I cringed at the mention of my brother’s almost threesome and headed towards the kitchen in need of wine while Madison’s laughter floated down the hallway.
“How many weeks are you?” I asked her.
“I went to the doctor today to confirm it and she said ten weeks.” I turned around with wide eyes shocked that she was that far along. “I thought the stress from what happened before was just delaying it, but this week I woke up with the worst pain in my boobs.”
“It happens, some women don’t even know for months.”
Madison came to sit across from me while I pulled a bottle of wine out and a pint of ice cream. I grabbed two glasses and two spoons, but when I turned around I was met with a less than amused Madison. “Really?” She grabbed the pint of ice cream and headed for the couch.
Now realizing my mistake, I yelled over to her, “My bad.”
“You think.” She said with a mouthful of ice cream. I went to take a swig of the wine, but Madison appeared out of nowhere, snagged the bottle out of my hand, and dumped it down the drain while saying, “Congratulations, you are now my birth partner.”
“Birth partner? Isn’t that supposed to be Jude?” I did not like the sound of this and went to grab another bottle of wine. I gave Madison a look that said don’t you dare.
“Yeah, but I think it would help me if we all do this together.” She said amused.
“After today I will join you, but for now I’m drinking for the both of us.” Lord bless us all.
Chapter Seventeen
Ezra
I was shocked to find out that Madison is pregnant, but more shocked to hear that Jude freaked out and left. It got me thinking what would I do if Stella told me she was pregnant, but I couldn’t let my mind go there. I would never put this burden on anyone, especially a little one.
I shook my head to snap out of it because right now I needed to solely focus on finding Jude. It’s ok to freak out, but not ok to leave Madison to figure this out alone. I needed to help him get his head on straight before he royally fucks up. There were three things he would be doing to clear his head and that was running, sketching, or drinking. When I headed to the front door, I saw his running shoes were still on the shoe rack, so I figured my first stop should be his soon to be tattoo shop, Black Sheep Tattoo.
I got in my truck and headed straight there first. It was only a thirty minute drive, but with how much was on my mind it only felt like a few minutes. When I finally got there I saw his Chevelle parked out front. I felt completely reliev
ed he was not getting drunk at the bar or it would have been a challenge getting his ass back home.
When I walked in I was instantly greeted by Riley, the receptionist. “He’s back there sulking.” She pointed down the hallway towards his office and then went back to reading her magazine.
“Hey Ezra, how are you? I’m doing great, thanks for asking Riley.” I said joking around while she threw me the middle finger.
I headed towards Jude’s office, who was currently resting his forehead on the desk and listening to some gloomy music. I sat down in front of him and luckily Jude spoke first when he said, “I’m guessing you know.”
“Congratulations.” The speech I prepared in my head went right out the window and now I had no idea what to say next.
He looked up at me with tears in his eyes and said, “How am I suppose to raise a child when I was raised by monsters?” I was surprised to see him so upset. Jude and I were a lot a like when it came to hiding what we truly felt, so for him to show himself crying, I knew he was truly hurting.
“You do the complete opposite. Let me ask you a question. Do you love Madison?” I asked him while sitting down across from him.
“With everything in me.” He said right away.
“And you will feel the same and maybe even more when you meet your little one. The best moment will be when you see Madison holding your child and your whole world changes right in front of your eyes. You will feel a whole new type of love for your baby and for Madison. It will all work out and you got the rest of us to lean on too.”
“You’re right. I got to go, I’m such an asshole.” He raced out of his chair, but stopped when he got to the doorway to ask me, “Do you really think the baby will be a boy?”
“God I hope so. Madison and Stella are enough to handle let alone a mini Madison.”
He started to laugh and with a huge smile said, “For all our sanity, I hope it’s a boy too.” He slapped the wooden door frame and headed back home to Madison.

When I finally pulled up to the house, Jude was already getting out with flowers in his hands. I gave him a few minutes to go find Madison before coming inside. When I did go in, I was surprised to see Jude standing in the corner while looking down and pinching his nose, Stella was chugging down her glass of wine, and Madison was nowhere in sight besides her flowers laying across the floor.
“Guessing it didn’t go well.” I said while walking into the kitchen.
“Nope she took the tub of ice cream with her.” Stella looked upset and Jude shot a look at Stella like that wasn’t the worst thing to happen. I’m guessing the wine was finally catching up.
“No it didn’t. She literally threw the flowers at me and told me to fuck off.”
“What did you expect? You ran as soon as she told you and you think flowers would instantly erase the pain she felt for the last few hours.” Stella said between sips.
I grabbed her wine glass and dumped the rest out while she protested me to stop. I looked over at Jude and said, “Go after her and be honest. Tell her the truth and take it from there.” I felt like such a hypocrite because I was the biggest liar in the room, but I had a feeling this is what Madison needed not flowers.
Jude took a deep breath and said, “You’re right. If that doesn’t get her to forgive me, maybe this will.” He looked down at his dick and Stella ended up spitting the wine out that she was drinking from the bottle.
“Damn woman.” I grabbed the bottle she snuck out and dumped the rest of it down the drain. She decided to stick her tongue out at me, so I told her, “Stick that tongue out one more time and see what happens.”
The little devil of a woman did it again and started running while screaming, “Try to catch me.” I instantly started to chase her around the house. When she finally ran outside I was able to scoop her up. I spun us in a circle until we both fell on the ground laughing.
We were both looking up at the stars when I realized the times I felt the most happy was when I was next to Stella. I know I told her not to fall in love with me, but it didn’t mean I wasn’t in love with her. Before I could think about it I said, “Go on a date with me this weekend.”
She looked over at me with a huge smile plastered on her face and said, “Ok.”
We laid there in the grass while looking up at the stars. I felt completely calm, but I should have known it was the calm before the storm...
Chapter Eighteen
Stella
Everyday this week I tried to bury myself in school work and reading books to try to make the days go by faster. This was my first date that I was actually excited about. It wasn’t technically my first date, but all the times I went out with Brad I never felt like this. By the time the day finally came, I realized I never even planned what to wear.
“Shit!” I said while ripping apart my closet to find the perfect outfit. I had no idea if this was leaning to more of a fancy date or casual.
“What are you doing?” Madison said while leaning in my doorway.
“Ezra is taking me on a date tonight, which is our first, and I have no idea what to wear.”
“Where are you going?” Madison came over to my bed to start rehanging all the outfits I tossed around.
“I wish I knew. It would at least make picking an outfit easier.”
“Ooh I know.” I jumped at the sound of Declan’s voice.
“Shit you scared me.” I put a hand on my racing heart while Madison laughed at me.
“This and this.” Declan grabbed a white lace tank top bodysuit with forest green paperbag shorts.
“That is actually genius, better than anything this one could pick.” I nodded my head over at Madison who pretended to take offense. I was honestly surprised I was taking advice from Declan.
“Right and you’re welcome. Pair it with those sandals over there and you’ll be good no matter where he is taking you.” He pointed over to a pair of white wedge sandals that worked perfect. I wouldn’t be dressed up if it’s casual and not that undressed if we were going somewhere nice.
It took me about two hours to get ready, but I was finally satisfied with my look. I did my hair in soft waves and gold jewelry to tie my whole outfit together. All I had to do was put the final touches on my makeup and I was good to go.
We had plans to meet downstairs at five, but instead of Ezra waiting for me there was a note:
Stella,
I’m so sorry, but I need to do something quick before dinner. Meet me at Blue Sea for six. I have a table reserved so give her my name and I will meet you there beautiful.
-Ezra
Huh, I wonder why he didn’t just come up and tell me. Anyhow I didn’t want to make a big deal, so I went to grab my keys and drive to the restaurant. I’ve been dying to eat there since I started school here. It was one of the best seafood restaurants in the state and thankfully my outfit worked perfectly.
Blue Sea was about a thirty minute drive and it was almost five thirty when I left. I got to the restaurant a few minutes after six and I was hoping Ezra would already be here, but when the hostess took me back to our table, there were only empty seats and no Ezra. I decided to order a drink and appetizer while I waited.
Two hours went by, ten texts that went unanswered, and as soon as I called I was sent right to voicemail. I lost my appetite and I wanted nothing more to go home to lay in my bed. I had so many different emotions running through me like disappointment in not having the best date that I thought I was going to have, embarrassment for sitting here for two hours alone, and finally heartbreak to be let down by someone I never thought would just forget about me like that.
When I got home, luckily Knox was out and Jude and Madison were holed up in their room. I prayed Madison didn’t come ask me how it went because I was barely keeping the tears at bay. I hurried to my room and quickly changed in my pajamas. I didn’t want to see that outfit ever again or think about tonight. I wish there was a turn off button on how I was feeling because I rather feel n
othing than feel like this.
Chapter Nineteen
Ezra
Tonight was the night to give Stella a date that erased all the dates she ever had before. I planned a nice dinner at Blue Sea, the best seafood restaurant in South Carolina. Then I wanted to take her for a stroll in the park, and finish off with ice cream at this old fashion ice cream parlor I found out about. I wanted Stella to have a night she would never forget.
Right when I was about to head downstairs to wait for Stella, my phone rang with Pete’s name. “Pete, you ok?” Pete never called me this late ever.
“Yeah EZ, I just took a small fall and forgot to lock up. The misses here won’t let me leave my bed, so can you go lock up for me before there is a break in again?” Last time Pete forgot to lock up, some teens decided to break in and steal the keys to a 1954 Porsche that they almost totaled.
“Yeah no problem, I’ll leave now.”
“Thank you, goodnight.”
“Goodnight.” Shit, the garage was in the opposite direction and I knew Stella was still getting ready. I decided quickly to leave her a note telling her to meet me at the restaurant. I figured by the time she was done getting ready, I would be leaving the garage to meet her.
It was only a twenty minute drive to the garage, but I made it there in fifteen minutes. I got out and headed inside the garage to make sure there was no one there or anything missing. When everything looked fine, I locked up and headed back to my truck.
Now that everything was settled, I was ready to go meet Stella, but my life had other plans. I looked down at my phone while Natalie’s name lit up the screen. I knew just ignoring it would be worse, so I answered the phone right before it hit voicemail. “Natalie.”
