Changing His Reality Page 14

“Don’t answer,” whined Tyler. “It is never good news when the doorbell rings. It either is someone with big news, someone needing help, or some other paranormal wanting to swear their allegiance to new alpha.” He counted on his fingers. “I mean it, don’t open babe.”

“Ty!” Toby was indignant. “That’s rude. Besides I’m sure they heard us with all the ruckus you’re making!”

“Hey, that’s not true…” started Ty and the teasing was back on in full force. Jason grinned, rolling his eyes and went to open the door, his heart full with emotions.

The door opened to reveal young man, maybe in his mid-twenties standing at his doorstep.

“Can I help you?” asked Jason, eyeing the newcomer. The man was beautiful with an almost feminine beauty but also had an air of manliness about him. His hair fell in golden locks on his shoulders, and his grin shone with impossible whiteness. His eyes were big, clear, grey, and were surrounded by black lashes. In other words, he looked like a movie star who got lost and found himself in wrong place. But there was something else about him. Something Jason couldn’t quite put his finger on.

“Hey, Jay-Jay,” said the newcomer, showing his unnaturally white teeth in another wide grin. “I’m finally free to visit. Won’t you ask me inside?”

Jason was momentarily stunned. He didn’t know this guy, but the guy apparently knew a good deal about him. Like his childhood nickname for example. Was he some childhood friend then? Someone whom he knew and had long forgotten? Jason was at loss. He was about to ask when suddenly Tyler’s voice, sounding suspiciously like a growl, did it for him.

“Who the hell are you?” Ty asked, glaring at the stranger in a very unfriendly manner and pulling Jason into his arms at the same time, showing his possessiveness.

“Yeah, who are you and what do you want with our Jason?” Asked Toby scowling, all his good manners and shyness gone.

“Well.” The stranger smiled widely, not fazed with this show of ownership from Jay’s men. “I’m Jason’s father, of course.” And then he looked Jay straight in the eyes. “Won’t you invite me inside, son?”

  ABOUT THE AUTHOR

When she was a child Sophie’s parents complained that she was spending too much time reading. She couldn’t stop herself, however, and by the time she grew up her reading habit turned into a full-blown addiction. Combine it with unending curiosity making her always wonder “what if,” and that’s how she started writing her own books.

Now Sophie tries to mediate between all the characters fighting in her head as to whose story should be written first, and the only time she finds some peace is when training martial arts.

Sophie would love to hear from readers, and you can reach her on Facebook, twitter or send her an e-mail on [email protected]
