Sex Me At Last
Harlow Abernathy sat on the cushioned window seat and stared up at the sky. Her heart pounded as she thought of the possibilities space presented. As usual, she could barely wait for nightfall. Only this time, she wouldn’t use the huge telescopes at the observatory, she’d use the smaller one she’d found in her grandfather’s study. Who besides Gram ever knew she’d gotten her love for astronomy from Grandpa?
Turning from the window, she glanced around her old bedroom. Everything was as she remembered it. Her stuffed animals still hung from the net in the far corner of the room and science fair awards and ribbons still hung proudly from the walls. If she tried, she could probably convince herself that she was a child again with her grandparents healthy and happy downstairs. Shifting, she tucked her feet beneath her and opened the envelope her grandparents had left her with trembling fingers.
What would she find—what would it say? She’d left here seven years ago to chase her dream of being the first to discover alien intelligence. Had they ever forgiven her for fulfilling Grandpa’s prophecy that she would never return in their lifetime? Tears ran unchecked down her face, blurring her vision as she read the first line written in her grandmother’s flowing script.
Our dearest Harlow,
Please forgive us old fools for not contacting you before now. We aren’t angry with you. Never that. We merely wished to protect you. Please understand. There is much more to life than what your five senses show you. There is a sixth sense. And, though you refuse to believe it, there is Majick. There is more to this world than what you can see, hear, smell, taste or touch. Some things just…are. There may never be an explanation that you will find satisfactory. Throughout your life, you will see that some things just are. Some things you just have to take on faith.
Soon, you will find what you’ve been searching for. Our only regret is that—if you’re reading this letter—we won’t be around to help you through it. We love you, Harlow. Now, put your grandpa’s telescope on the roof and greet your destiny. Take a glass of wine with you. You’re going to need it.
Harlow smiled through her tears. The telescope was already up there. The bottle of wine she’d brought up from the cellar was cooling in a bucket of ice next to it, waiting for the sun to set. She planned to honor their wishes. They never wanted her to mourn them, but instead celebrate the fact that their journey in another realm had begun. Yes, her grandparent’s had been crackpots. But they’d been loving, nurturing crackpots. She only wished they wouldn’t have gotten onto the deep sea fishing boat that capsized and ended their lives. What had they been thinking to climb aboard a boat like that at their age? If only she’d called them.
“The journal!” Heart pounding, she stood and rushed from her room and down the hall to the master suite. Her grandmother kept a large diary in a hidden cubbyhole built into the headboard of her bed.
Promise me you’ll read this if anything should happen to us, Princess.
Harlow closed her eyes at the memory of her grandmother’s voice. She pressed the hidden latch and the door popped open. She had no idea what secrets the silver embossed, cracked leather journal held. But, she thought, as she cradled the thick book in her arms, she was about to find out.
* * * *
“We’re nearing the planet, sir,” Jered Hallen, Ryo’s second in command, said as he turned from the large view screen. Behind him was a large planet covered in blue and brown. White vapor floated between them and the surface. “I would suggest we raise the magnetic shielding to ensure their primitive radar devices do not detect us.”
Ryo of Kneese, and ruler of the Hienial people, waved his arm in an affirmative gesture. No more was needed. After spending months together, his crew certainly knew his moods by now. “Go ahead,” he confirmed aloud, just in case. Standing, he circled the bridge, keeping his gaze on the screen.
The planet was beautiful. He’d never seen one so abundant in water. The blue seas beckoned him. His skin itched with the desire to immerse himself in the cerulean depths. Fluffy white clouds floated over the land. The planet only had one sun, but unlike most other planets he’d seen, it didn’t need another. The gas giant shone brightly down on the planet, warming it with its heat.
“Scan for a Hienial life sign.” He stared down at the huge mountain terrain passing beneath them. The land mass moved by quickly as they made their descent.
“Um…” Jered’s expression was one of disbelief as his fingers flew across the console’s flat surface.
Ryo sat up in his seat, his heart in his throat. What if this was the wrong planet? How much time had they wasted coming here? Damn! How could he make such an idiotic mistake? He turned to the helmsman. “Victor, get us—”
“Wait!” Jered stood, pushing his seat back. It rattled against its supports, but remained upright. “What are you doing? I never said there weren’t any Hienials below.”
“Then why the hesitation?” Ryo sighed, unable to remain calm. His mate was somewhere out there and he needed her—not only to help his people but for himself. He was so tired of being alone. So damned tired of watching his friends find their mates.
“Let me check again.” Jered’s fingers traveled over the console again. “If these calculations are correct, there are over one hundred beings living below consistent with those that carry Hienial genes and it appears they’re all in the same geographical area.”
“Did you say over one hundred, Jered?” Ryo asked, shocked beyond words that so many could come from just one child left so long ago.
“Yes, sir. Bio scans show that there are several generations, male and female, living in a fairly small area called Shadows Glen, New York.”
“Any of the scans fit the one your father spoke of, Jered?”
“One, sir. One female fits more than the others. She is completely isolated among her own kind. Seems to live in an out-of-the-way home overlooking a bluff and has the strongest Hienial genotype I’ve ever seen on a Hienial-Human Hybrid. No one should spot us landing there. It’s perfect for our purposes—almost as though the Goddess herself had planned it this way.”
Ryo smiled, then came to stand next to Jered. “Who’s to say she didn’t, Jered? Take us to this woman, this Hienial-Human Hybrid.” Placing one hand on Jered’s shoulder and pointing at the planet below with the other, Ryo suggested happily, “Let us see if she is truly our mate—the one
woman in all the galaxies meant to complete us.”
As the cloaked ship began to make its way closer and closer to the surface of the planet called Earth, Ryo’s heart began to beat faster and faster. Beside him, he could feel Jered’s excitement mount as well. So many of Ryo’s friends and family had found mates over the years, to know that he could possibly be close to meeting his own had his palms sweating and his cock tenting his uniform pants.
After reaching a geo-synchronous orbit, they’d travel the rest of the way to the planet’s surface via shuttle. “Come, Jered. Let’s go to the Shuttle Bay. You can pilot us to our mate’s abode. I’d like us to reconnoiter the area a bit before we approach her, perhaps survey the town for a few minutes. With the proliferation of Hienials in the area, it might be wise to watch them before we approach our mate. See how they interact with each other before we decide just how we should make our decision on how to approach her.”
“Good idea, Ryo. From our own history, we have not always behaved as we should have. I learned from many historical documents that we oft times became aggressive and greedy when peaceful negotiations were called for. When soothing words were needed, we went in with hateful wrathful words, almost as if we were possessed by angry, vengeful beings bent on destroying any good we tried to build. We must be careful that that does not happen here when we have first contact with this new sub-species of Hienial-Human Hybrid.”
As Jered continued to pilot the shuttle, Ryo thought on all he’d said. He’d not known the history of the Hienials, of how they were corrupted as if possessed by evil, but it did make sense knowing what they know now of the Banart, of their skill of passing evil on through a viral contagion.
But before he could think further on that, his stomach knotted and beside him, he felt Jered tense. “What is it?”
“Can’t you feel her? We’re getting close to her. I can feel her. Somehow, I know our mate is just below this tree line.”
Almost immediately, they broke through the trees and a huge, rambling house came into view. Three stories high, with a widow’s walk and a multilevel deck, the turn of the century house was quite unique and definitely unexpected. Just as unexpected, was seeing a young woman sitting outside in a circle of light coming from just over the doorway, with one eye pressed against a strange-looking, long cylindrical device. She held a journal in one hand and a wine glass in the other.
Built cliff side, the house overshadowed the valley and trees below. But it was the stunning woman that captivated Ryo. Right now, the shuttle was cloaked and it was dark so she couldn’t see them and that was their only advantage. It gave them the opportunity to stare at her to their heart’s content and she was completely oblivious.
Long dark hair hung down past her shoulders, falling in soft curls around her waist. The light behind her lit up the blue-black streaks in her hair, making it appear as though beams of moonlight ran through it. Her lithe body, even bent slightly the way it was, was full of luscious curves. Curves he couldn’t wait to explore with both his hands and mouth. His body hardened to the point of pain and he shifted in his seat in an attempt to reposition his cock in his pants. The growing member stretched the front of his slacks to near bursting until the sensation became quite uncomfortable.
He jerked in his seat when the craft lurched to the side. Casting a sharp glance at Jered, he noticed that he, too, had felt the effects of the woman below. “We need to get our hormones in check before we crash this damned thing,” he growled, shaking his head. There was nothing like embarrassment to bring things back into perspective and straighten out one’s priorities.
Jered nodded his agreement, too busy with his hands on the controls to give a better response.
Ryo closed his eyes for a moment, trying to bring his body under some measure of control. They could make no mistakes. What if the woman wanted nothing to do with him—them? It would be his worst nightmare come true.
They both sighed with relief when the shuttle finally touched ground. The outer door opened and he could hear the others in the back disembarking. He shot from his seat. Ryo would be the first to reach the woman. He didn’t want another male touching her. Jered would, he knew, but he refused to allow another male to come within an arm’s distance of her.
He’d just turned toward her house at the bottom of the ramp when he heard the sound of glass breaking, followed by a scream. A scream, he was sure, that could be heard aboard the large vessel orbiting this water-filled planet. Her scream died abruptly as she crumpled to the ground in a faint. Ryo sighed. So much for approaching slowly and attempting to earn her trust. He turned back toward the shuttle and grimaced. No wonder the girl fainted. The shuttle was still cloaked. It must have looked as though they’d all appeared from thin air. Though, he was certain, appearing from a strange spacecraft would have had similar results.
Sighing, he strode over to her, bent and picked her up out of the puddle of spirits, then headed for the door. He only hoped there wasn’t anyone else in the house who would have a similar reaction. The last thing he needed was for the whole world to know they’d arrived. It could be illegal to approach ordinary citizens without the permission of their government. They certainly didn’t want, or need, any legal entanglements.
He strode into the house, the woman in his arms. He didn’t see anyone else as he walked through a sweet-smelling room with a table and six chairs, a sink and some other things he didn’t recognize. He assumed it was where she prepared her meals, judging by the delicious smells.
Following a faint light, he entered a room with soft-looking chairs and a low-slung sofa with overstuffed cushions. Smiling that he found something familiar, he laid her upon it and brushed the hair from her face. Dark lashes spread over her high cheekbones accentuated her pallor, along with her full red lips. High cheekbones gave away her Hienial ancestry along with her tall stature.
Generous breasts rose and fell easily with her breath and he consoled himself that she wasn’t injured, just startled into a faint. It wasn’t any wonder. She hadn’t expected to see him and his contingent of men exiting the craft. Not to mention, said craft was invisible.
A small smile curved his lips as he took in the fullness of her breasts, the narrow rib cage, wide hips and legs that seemed to go on forever. Legs that he could well imagine wrapped around his waist as he drove into her with abandon.
* * * *
Harlow scowled down at the man staring at her breasts. She’d opened her eyes when she thought that perhaps he was looking elsewhere. She wasn’t sure she wanted him to know she was awake. Still, his slow perusal and inventory of her…assets made her angry. Sure she knew she’d been generously endowed with a pair of full breasts and a curvy body to go with them, but it didn’t mean she had to like it. She couldn’t count the number of times that men assumed she was some brainless hussy just because she was built like one.
“Are you quite through yet?” She let the distain drip from her words as she glared at the top of his head. The nerve of the man! How dare he scare the living daylights out of her, then carry her in here like some fainting movie starlet and then have the audacity to look her over like a prized pig?
He glanced up, obviously startled. “Oh, you’re awake.”
Ding, ding, ding. You win the dummy award, mister. “Of course I’m awake,” she said dryly. “I’m talking aren’t I? And my eyes are open.” She resisted the urge to push him away. The last thing she wanted was to voluntarily make skin contact with him. He may take it as an invitation. Harlow cleared her throat instead. “Do you mind?” She waved her hands in front of his face. “I’d really like to sit up.”
He moved back and she sat up, swinging her legs over the side of the couch. Putting her face in her hands, she scrubbed at her cheeks. “What happened out there?” She knew what she thought happened, but that couldn’t possibly be true. Unless…
She shook her head. Not likely. It wasn’t as if big, handsome drool worthy men just fell out of the sky—or appeared from thin air for
that matter. No, there was some other explanation. She cocked her head, waiting to hear it.
Another man appeared behind him. He was just as tall, broad and handsome as the man on his knees in front of the couch. Then another appeared and another. Before she knew it, her living room was filled wall to wall with tall, handsome and mostly all blond men. She swallowed thickly. She had a thing for blonds. Now about twenty of them stood in her house gaping at her as if she was the one who’d appeared from thin air.
“Who are all you people, where did you come from and what are you doing in my house?” None of them seemed overly anxious to answer her questions. They all seemed to defer to the one on his knees in front of her. Okay. So he must be the leader of the group. Nice that he’d be the one to carry her inside. Not!
Her gaze roamed over them all. Harlow didn’t know why she wasn’t frightened. She certainly should be. They were all as big as football players. Bigger even. And they dressed funny. She’d seen nothing like the strange, iridescent jumpsuits they wore. Still, they didn’t put off a menacing air and she couldn’t feel any evil or ill intent in them like she had with so many others.
That was the only reason she wasn’t quaking with fear right now. Well, that and the can of pepper spray on the end table that she kept there for emergencies. Not that she thought for a moment that she could take them all out with it. But having a weapon, no matter how useless, was better than being defenseless. It didn’t matter that she wasn’t sure she had the courage to use it. Knowing it was there was still comforting.
“We’ve come far to find you,” the man on his knees said. “We have something to tell you that may shock or frighten you.” He looked around the stuffed room as though hoping to find someone. “Do you have family, friends here?”
