Sofia caught her breath and wondered if he could hear her hammering heart. “Oh, Antonio.” For the moment, she could say nothing else.
“Would you do me the honor of being my wife?”
“Yes,” Sofia said, laughing through tears. “Yes, of course.”
He stood and wrapped his arms about her, turning in a celebratory circle before setting her down and kissing her soundly once more. “I hope your mother and brother don’t mind living in their own quarters. I believe the Queen intends the cottage to be renovated for a newly married couple.”
The words married couple sent a shiver of happiness through her. “Mother won’t mind in the least — she will be too happy to protest. And if Sergio says a word of complaint, we can see that he’s sent to milk the castle cows.”
“Are you thinking that one of them might knock him over?”
“If we’re lucky.” She grinned. “Come.” She took his hand, led him to the couch and sat down, patting the cushion beside her. “I think it would be wise to better acquaint myself with my intended.”
“I believe that can be arranged.” Antonio waggled his eyebrows as he sat beside her. He drew near, but instead of kissing her, leaned back slightly. “On the other hand, are we considered truly engaged when I have yet to ask your mother?” The glint in his eyes made his teasing clear.
Sofia gripped his shirt with both hands and pulled him close. She kissed him thoroughly, and he responded in kind. When she had to take a breath, she rested her forehead against his. “I’d like to see anyone try to keep us from the altar.”
“No one could,” Antonio agreed. “We’ve already done the impossible by saving the kingdom, you and I.”
“Clearly, we make a very good match,” Sofia said.
He took her in his arms, and together they educated themselves on the new world they’d found together, lips to lips, without words.
A Note from the Author
I hope you enjoyed reading Tailor Made as much as I enjoyed writing it. Being invited to use the Kingdom of Monterra, the creation of author Sariah S. Wilson, for a story of my own was both an honor and a thrill.
I love feedback. So tell me: What did you like? What did you love? What didn’t you like so much? Do you have a great idea for theme, location, or time period for a future novel or novella?
Write to let me know! You can reach me at annette@annettelyon.com

Finally, if you're so inclined, it would be wonderful if you left a review for Tailor Made. I appreciate all feedback, and reviews do a lot to help other readers find books.
Thanks again for spending time with Sofia and Antonio!
