  Chapter 16

  Torch

  Beautiful Mistake

We took off on the first flight out of LAX to Dublin, Ireland. Capone called Kayne from Savage Saints, Michigan before we left and Poison had arranged her uncle to pick us up at a tiny little airport and take us to where Alan O’Brian is holding Daisy. It’s deep underground on the corner of Baggot Rd. and Ratra Rd.

Our plane hits the tarmac and I unbuckle my seatbelt, ready to get out of this little tin can. Capone, Blayze, Derange, Red and Trigger do the same. We left Bear, Tiny, Dagger and the prospects behind to watch over the clubhouse and the girls. If something happened to them while we were here, I’d never be able to forgive myself. If Razor strikes from the right while I’m looking left, I’d never be able to live with myself.

Poison’s Uncle Cahal meets us on the runway with three black SUVs. We load up; Capone, Blayze and me in one car; Derange, Tiny and Trigger in another and Cahal’s men in the third. His men drive off and we head for the destination. During the ride, no one says a word. We check our weapons and make sure they’re locked and loaded. I’m tying a bandanna around my bald head when Cahal’s voice comes across the car speakers.

“We’re going to park a few blocks away and go in on foot. If O’Brian spots our cars or us, Daisy is dead. We need the element of surprise on our side. Stay quiet and follow my lead. Do not go off alone.”

“Locked and loaded. Ready to light this bitch up.” I respond, sliding the chamber back on my .45 caliber and putting it inside my cut.

The sun has set and darkness cloaks around us, giving us the cover we need. “There will be guards outside. Take them out silently. Then kill anyone who gets in our way.” Cahal orders. “Five minutes out.”

The speakers go dead and I’m focusing on getting my girl back and revenge on the little pencil dick who took her. The driver pulls into a small garage and turns the car off. We climb out of the SUVs and quickly close the doors. “We’ve got two blocks to go and then it’s game time. Let’s bring the sons of bitches down.” The fury in Cahal’s voice is unmistakable. “These fuckers want to do this in my city and they will pay. I don’t care if it’s the Deputy Prime Minister. The corrupt motherfucker is dying tonight.”

“I’m right there with you, Cahal. Lead the way.” Capone agrees.

We’re all on edge but sneak up the streets quietly. No one is making a sound or breathing too harshly. Even the rats that litter the streets move out of our way. Music is pumping from a pub nearby, drowning out the quietness of the city. That’ll give us good cover to do what needs to be done.

Cahal holds up a fist and we stop moving. He signals to one of his men and disappears around a corner. I’m itching to follow but Capone stops me. We wait a few minutes until Cahal and his man comes back. “Let’s go. It's clear.”

We follow closely until we get near the underground bunker Daisy is being held in on the corner. It looks like a normal street corner with monuments of past leaders until you get close enough. Then you can see a faint outline of a door built into the concrete memorial. Cahal motions for us to get on one side and his men and him post up on the other. Capone raises a fist and then holds up five fingers. Cahal does the same for his men.

  Let the countdown begin.

Once Capone and Cahal reach zero, Derange blows the door open and we all follow inside with our guns drawn. A few of O’Brian’s men scatter but we shoot several dead on the spot. I see one that looks faintly familiar with blonde hair, and I follow him. Hoping he leads me to Daisy. The man does a quick peek over his shoulder and spots me stalking him. He full on sprints through the maze of concrete walls but I keep up. He skids to a stop against a wall with nowhere to run.

“Dead end, bitch.” I aim my .45 at his head and he begins to beg for his life.

“No. Wait. Please, don’t shoot me. I know where Stormy is.” His thick Irish accent blubbers.

  “Who the fuck are you?”

“Name’s Knight. Please, I’ll take you to her.”

“Are you fucking playing games right now? You know this sick piece of shit kidnapped my Ol’ Lady and is doing God knows what to her right now.”

Knight drops to his knees, begging me. “I know! Which is why I want to help you.”

“Then why'd the fuck did you run off?”

“To get you away from the others. I knew if you we’re with them, you wouldn’t listen to me. Please, Torch. For God’s Sakes listen to me to help free my sister!”

My jaw drops in shock. “What? Your sister? What the fuck are you talking about?” I roar. I press my gun against the side of his head and peer into his eyes.

“Yes, my sister. Alan doesn’t think I know what he did to her, but I do. The night Stormy was born, there were two of us.”

“Why are there no records of two births?” I keep my gun pressed against his temple.

Knight’s blue eyes, that look like Daisy’s, looks up at me, begging me to believe him. “Because Alan made it look like I died when in reality, he hid me from the world and sold Stormy off. Our mother named us Stormy Knight because it was the darkest day of her life. Having to give up one child and thinking another died.” For some strange reason I believe Knight. From the determined look in his eyes to the similar features him and Daisy have. The slight curve of their nose, to the blonde hair and blue eyes.

I release my hold on Knight’s head and lower my gun. “Take me to her, now.” Knight rises from the floor and I pin him to the wall with one arm crushing his windpipe. “If you’re lying to me and it’s a setup, I will fucking kill you. Feel me?”

Knight nods his head, “Yes. C’mon, they’re down this hall.” Knight leads me down another hallway. The gunfire grows louder the further we walk until Knight takes a sharp right, leading down another hallway. “In here. I don’t know where Alan went to, but this is where Stormy was.”

Knight turns the doorknob and the door swings open. Rage boils my blood at the sight before me. Daisy is naked except for a pair of underwear, chained to a bed, the ratty mattress below her has blood stains on it. Her arms are secured above her head and her feet are tied to the bottom. Her hair is wet and she’s out cold. Cuts and bruises mar her beautiful skin.

Bones is slumped over, tied to a chair. His chest is barely moving with every breath he takes. The dead body next to the bed brings me a little relief, but with no sign of Alan O’Brian, I’m on high alert. Pulling out my phone, I dial Capone while taking long strides to Daisy.

“Torch, where are you?” Capone demands. The gunfire in the background ceases.

“I’ve found Daisy.” I look over the chains holding her hostage. “Bones is hurt and they both need medical attention a.s.a.p. You guys need to get here. I’m sending a man out to you. Don’t shoot him. His name’s Knight. It’s Daisy’s twin.” I hang up before Capone can answer.

Tugging at the chains wrapped around Daisy’s delicate wrists, I turn my head to Knight. “Go find Capone. He’s my Prez and will help get these two out of here. Try anything and I fucking mean anything funny, I’ll skin you alive.”

Knight nods his head and disappears out the door. I turn my attention back to Daisy and pick the lock on the chains, releasing her hands. Then I remove the rope tied around her feet, freeing her. Daisy doesn’t move, but the rapid rise and fall of her chest tells me she’s OK for now. I cover her with a blanket in the corner and go to Bones. I check for a pulse. It’s there but faint. Removing his binds, I carefully lay him on the floor. His arm is at an odd angle and he has cuts and bruises all over his body. Bones risked his life for Daisy and I’ll be forever grateful to him.

Bones stirs a little bit and tries moving. “Easy, Bones. I’ve got you.”

“Daisy.” His voice is a whisper in the breeze.

“I’ve got her. Hold still, don’t hurt yourself anymore.”

Bones’ eyes pop open, wild and animalistic. “He’s going…” Bones inhales a sharp breath, coughing. “Sell her.” Bones’ eyes flutter close and his bod
y goes limp.

Heavy footsteps echo down the hallway and I turn on my heels, gun aimed at the door, waiting to blow the next person who walks through.

“Torch! It’s Capone and Blayze. Don’t shoot.” Capone bellows from the other side of the door.

“Come in, quick.” I put my gun away and begin CPR on Bones.

Capone, Blayze and Knight come charging into the room and stop dead in their tracks. “Is that?” Capone asks pointing at the dead body on the floor.

“Yeah, it’s Razor. Fucker got off light if you ask me.”

Blayze takes over CPR on Bones and I gather Daisy in my arms, willing her to wake up. She stirs and her eyes pop open. They dart around wildly and I do my best to calm her down.

“Daisy, I’ve got you. Shh.” I smooth her hair back on her forehead. “I’ve got you firecracker. You’re safe now.”

“Bones is stable, but we need to get him better medical help.” Blayze stops CPR on Bones and stands up, wiping the sweat from his brow.

Daisy stops fighting against me. Her blue eyes finally land on me and her body relaxes in my arms. “You’re really here?”

“Yes, Firecracker, I’m really here and we’re going to get you out.” Daisy’s hand rests on my cheek, lightly caressing my skin. Fire races down my spine from her touch. One I thought I’d never feel again.

“Ok. Jase, take me home, please.”

I pick Daisy up and cradle her in my arms. She snuggles against me, breathing me in. Capone and Blayze lift Bones’ limp body up and Knight leads the way out.

Once we get to the beginning of the underground bunker, Red, Derange and Trigger spot us and hurries over to help Capone and Blayze with Bones.

Red has a look of panic on his face. This is his prospect and they’ve formed a close bond. “He’s stable but in bad shape. He needs a doctor.” Capone reassures Red.

Cahal steps forward, “I’ve got one on standby. She’ll be waiting when we get to my place.”

  “Appreciate that, Cahal.” Capone answers.

We make our way up the stairs and into the waiting SUVs. Daisy hasn’t stopped touching me to make sure I’m real the whole car ride. We pull up to a wrought iron fence and it opens immediately. Cahal’s house comes into view. The mansion before me is magnificent. The front door opens and a feisty brunette comes strolling out when the SUVs come to a stop. She heads directly to the one Bones is in and starts barking out orders to carefully move him once she determines him stable. Red hasn’t taken his eyes off her and I lift my brow. Red doesn’t notice but follows the woman into the house while Blayze, Trigger and Capone carry Bones.

I follow closely still holding Daisy wrapped tight in a blanket. My boots echo on the pristine marble floors. Cahal is fucking loaded. “You can take her this way.” The doc gently tells me.

I follow her with quick steps to a bedroom. There’s a king size bed covered with a black comforter in the center of the room. Glass sliding doors covered with sheer curtains to the left of me and a bathroom to the right. I lay Daisy down carefully on the bed and check the room to make sure it’s safe.

The doc looks Daisy over, “She’ll be OK. No physical damage done.”

“Thanks, Doc.” I cradle Daisy against my chest and she holds on tight.

“I’ll leave you to it then.” The doc leaves, closing the door behind her.

  “Are you OK?”

“Now that you’re here, yes.” Daisy picks her head up and stares into my eyes. “Thank you for rescuing me.”

“I’d give my life for you, Daisy. You’re my everything.” I gently kiss her on the lips.

Daisy runs her hands over my neck and knocks my bandanna off, running her hands over my bald head. The ratty blanket covering her falls away and my cock springs to life. She straddles my legs, rubbing her pussy against my jeans.

“Make me forget Torch.” Daisy moans into my mouth.

And I do. I make Daisy forget everything that’s happened to her and bring her to the brink of ecstasy several times through the night.

I’m never letting her go. We might not have caught Alan tonight, but I will do everything and anything to protect my woman. I’ll go to the ends of the earth to bring pain to those who harm her.

  Epilogue

  Daisy

We made it back to the states a few days later and Torch hasn’t left my side the entire time. It’s been a couple of months since Bones and I were taken and I’m grateful for him. Grateful for all of the Royal Bastards risking their lives for mine. Bones will make a full recovery and once’s he’s completely healed, the Club is patching him in. They still haven’t located my grandfather but no one will stop until he’s caught. It’s surreal finally knowing the truth about who I am and that I have a twin brother. How bizarre is that?

Speaking of twin brothers, Torch has talked to Jax almost every day, keeping in contact with him. As for me, Knight came back to the states with us and has fit right in with the Royal Bastards. We’ve bonded over the couple of months and getting stronger every day. Since he has no birth record or papers, Torch had a DNA test ran on both of us to prove we’re twins.

“Daisy,” Torch nuzzles my ear, bringing me back to him.

  “Hmm..?”

“Mail’s here. Your result is in.” He holds a brown envelope in front of me, waving it.

I snag it from his hands and find Knight. We’re going to do this together. He’s playing pool with Derange and there’s a patch whore hanging around. Jezebelle is watching the whore, ready to rip her hair out if she touches Derange. Those two keep fighting like cats and dogs and someday soon it’s going to come to a head and when it does, it’ll be explosive.

Knight spots me and sets his pool stick on the table. “It came?”

“Yes, it’s right here.” I answer. Torch wraps his arms around my waist and nuzzles my neck, making my knees weak.

I rip open the envelope and read the paper attached. “With ninety-nine-point nine percent accuracy, it’s determined,” I trail off after reading it and tears glimmer in my eyes.

“It’s determined what?” Knight asks, taking the paper out of my hands to read it for himself. “It’s determined, Stormy O’Brian and unknown male are in fact twins.” Knight stops reading and he engulfs me in a hug. “We’re really related.”

“We really are related.” I cry. My emotions have been all over the place lately but I suck it up.

“Let’s celebrate.” Torch growls in my ear, making my body hot and bothered.

I turn in his arms and whisper against Torch’s lips, “We have more than that to celebrate.”

  “Wait? What?”

“You heard me, dad. Not only do we both have a twin, but you and I are expecting in eight months.”

Torch picks me up and kisses me so hard, my head spins. “I love you, Daisy.”

“I love you too, Torch. Until the end of days.”

Thank you to all you beautiful readers! I had so much fun writing this book and giving you Torch and Daisy’s story.

I hope you enjoyed reading about my Royal Bastards as much as I enjoy writing them. I know shit’s been so hard for all of us, dealing with the pandemic and even though I struggled to find my mojo, I really hope you all enjoy these stories and the world we created as an escape.

Please, if you want to thank an Indy author, the best way is either an email, message or even leaving a review on any platform so others can see how much you enjoy it. I know I love hearing from my readers, and I appreciate every single one of you.

You might have seen some familiar names in here and that’s because some of the other RBMC authors let me borrow their characters. Make sure you check out their books too!
