Double Jeopardy

He thrust a few more times before his orgasm hit him, too. His cock swelled even more as his seed shot deep inside of her.
They moaned in unison and then AJ collapsed on top of her.
****
He knew that he should move. He wasn’t that comfortable himself and he knew Di had to be uncomfortable. Hell, she was lying on a dirt floor.
She was better than this. Hell, everyone was better than this. It wasn’t like anyone was on the island of their own accord.
He pulled his cock out of her, moaning in the process. He didn’t want to leave her tight, wet, heat. He sat back on his haunches and could see his seed oozing out of her.
Damn, that was sexy.
“Sorry about the whole floor thing,” he said.
“Yeah, doesn’t seem like the smartest thing to do when there’s a bed right here.”
She reached her hand up and patted the bed.
Not that it was much more comfortable than the floor.
Damn it, AJ had forgotten the biggest problem that he’d always had with sex. Why was it so damn awkward afterwards?
“So, are you hungry or anything?”
AJ got his answer when her stomach rumbled.
“I guess so,” her laugh was nervous when she spoke.
“Is there a shower around here? I could use one.”
“I think you’re forgetting that you’re on an island of kidnap victims. We don’t have much of anything around here.”
She only looked taken aback for a moment before her attitude was back.
“Well, do you have a suggestion for how to get this dirt off of me?”
She turned to the side giving him a prime view of her ass. And it was covered with dirt.
Damn it. Now he felt bad again.
“There’s a spring not to far from here.” AJ crossed the small room and peered outside. The bodies were gone now and the only evidence that there had been a fight outside earlier were the bloodstains that still littered the ground. “My guess is that most of the men have heard about our little scuffle from earlier and won’t bother us. You up for it?”
She held her chin high. It was cute considering her face, too, was streaked with dirt.
“I’m up for anything.”
AJ simply shrugged. He wouldn’t mind bathing either. He bent down to pick up his raggedy pants.
“Maybe you’ll finally tell me what you’re doing here, too,” he said.
She looked around for a few moments, apparently deciding what she was going to wear. Eventually she grabbed a tattered shirt from the floor in the corner. She slid her arms into it. It certainly didn’t look good, but it covered her and that was all that mattered.
“I already told you. I came looking for you.”
Yeah, she had said that, but that didn’t mean he had any idea what in the hell she was talking about.
“Nobody wants to find me. I’m afraid you must have the wrong person.”
She shook her head.
“No. I’m sure it’s you I was looking for.”
Whatever. She was obviously delusional. She wasn’t the first nutcase to be tossed on the island to fend for themselves, nor would se be the last.
Of course she definitely was the most attractive.
AJ grabbed the things they’d need for their baths, a bar of soap and his ragged blanket; it was the closest thing to a towel he could find.
He led the way out of the small structure and down a path. They walked in silence for a few minutes until Di spoke from behind him.
“What is that?”
He turned around to see where she was pointing. He supposed the building was pretty out of place here on the island. It was a large silver structure reaching high into the air. There were no windows and from where they were standing they couldn’t see any doors.
“It’s the main barracks for the guards stationed here.”
“So, if someone were coming to the island and they weren’t dumped off at the docks, but instead were held captive, or something, is that where they’d be taken.”
He shrugged.
There was definitely something that she wasn’t telling him and he had no intention of answering until he knew what and why.
“I’ve never heard of that happening.”
He knew that wasn’t an answer and was shocked when she didn’t ask any further questions.
They continued walking the half-mile to the watering hole. Just like he’d thought, it was currently empty. And he didn’t have any bad feelings about anyone hiding in the bushes.
The water was clear and the bottom was mostly smooth and sandy. The sun had been shining for the past few days and he figured the water would be on the warm side.
He shucked his pants and dove into the cool water. It felt wonderful sliding over his naked skin. He could practically feel the dirt lifting off him already.
When he finally surfaced he was half way across the lake. He looked back to see Di, still dressed, standing by the edge with only her toes in the water.
“What’s wrong? I thought you wanted to get clean.”
“I do,” she said, “but the water’s a little bit colder than I generally like.”
Treading water in the middle of the lake AJ threw his head back and laughed.
“What?” she demanded.
“You can’t swim, can you?”
Damn him.
Okay, so she couldn’t swim. There wasn’t any water in the city how was she supposed to know how to swim?
“I can swim. It’s just…it’s been a long time.”
With a big smile still on his face AJ swam across the lake to where she was standing.
“Come on in,” he said. “I promise that I’ll keep you safe.”
“Maybe I’ll just stand on the edge and splash myself.”
The look he gave her said more than words ever could. And he was calling her a coward.
“Fine,” she said.
Di stripped and bent down to stick one of her feet into the water. It was cool, but not too uncomfortably so. The sun was warm on her back even as she shivered from the cool water.
“Come on,” AJ urged.
He stood in front of her chest deep in the water. He was significantly taller than her, which meant that her head would probably be underwater.
“Uh, maybe this isn’t such a great idea. I think the splashing idea is a better one.”
He apparently took her words to heart because the next thing Di know, she was soaking wet.
“What the…?”
He’d splashed her.
This was war.
She stood up, stuck her food in the water and kicked a huge wave of water in his direction. He simply laughed and ducked his head underwater.
She got herself poised for when he resurfaced. No one got away with laughing at her. She stuck her leg in the water again and tried to splash.
But she lost her balance.
A scream dying on her lips, she tumbled into the water.
Chapter Twelve
Di realized a second too late that she’d made a mistake. Unfortunately, she was too late to do anything about it. She tumbled into the water.
As soon as her head broke the surface, she opened her mouth to scream. But all that happened was that she got a mouth full of water.
She fought to get to the surface, but she was too confused to make much progress. Her panic began to rise.
And then, she felt a pair of strong arms encircle her waist. Instinct had her fighting against the grasp.
But then, her head broke the surface of the water once again. She inhaled, thrilled to have oxygen in her lungs again. Still, she continued to fight.
Now she wanted to get the hell out of the water.
“Calm down,” AJ urged, holding her even tighter.
“I want out of the water,” she insisted but AJ simply held her tighter.
He moved back further into the water.
“Di, sweetheart, you need to calm down.”

Let me out of the water now.”
His hold on her not lightening any, he somehow managed to turn her around so that she was facing him. She could feel the tears rolling down her face mixing with the water.
“Look at me, Di.”
She tried to fight but still holding her tight he took her chin in his hand and forced her to meet his gaze.
“Di, please trust me.”
His eyes pleaded with hers and she was helpless to resist. But she couldn’t stop the tears.
“Okay, but you’re moving father away from shore.”
AJ smiled at her.
“Trust me.”
Di nodded. AJ stumbled once plunging her a little further into the water. She shrieked.
“It’s okay,” he said.
But unfortunately Di was already starting to freak out again.
She jumped slightly when one of AJ’s hands slid between their naked bodies. His finger brushed over her clit. She gasped and pushed even closer to him.
His finger moved from her clit down to her pussy. She knew that if she weren’t in the water her pussy would be creaming from just the simple contact.
His finger pushed the way into her pussy. Di moaned and at the same time he crushed his mouth to hers.
She opened her mouth to him with no hesitation. His tongue plunged inside hers with the tempo of his finger in her pussy.
When his thumb moved to rub her clit, it was only a matter of moments before he came apart. Her orgasm washed over her like the waves in the ocean.
When he pulled his finger from her body, she shivered and pulled herself even closer to him.
“Okay, put your feet down,” AJ said.
When she opened her eyes, she realized that she was in the middle of the lake.
But she didn’t move. As relaxed as she was a few minutes earlier her panic started to return.
“You’ve trusted me this far now please trust me now and put your legs down.”
She took a deep breath and did as he asked.
Her feet touched the ground.
Though he still held onto her, AJ took a step back. She remained upright. She was standing in the middle of the lake.
“You okay now?”
Di nodded.
She felt completely foolish.
“Thanks,” she mumbled.
AJ just nodded. Thank Gods he didn’t hold it over her at all.
“I’m going to swim back and get the soap. Are you going to be all right?”
Damn it. Why did he have to be so darn nice now?
“I’m fine.”
****
Hell, she was more than fine and AJ was harder then he ever remembered being in his life. And unfortunately the cold water wasn’t helping at all.
He needed to swim back to the edge of the watering hole just to get some space. Di’s scent was overwhelming him. Somehow, even out in the middle of nowhere, she managed to smell good.
He left her in the middle of the lake and swam the whole way to the edge under water, not surfacing until he reached the edge.
He grabbed the small bar of soap and the only washcloth he had. He wished it weren’t so dirty and dingy. She deserved something so much better.
As he looked back to the middle of the lake he was struck by just how beautiful Di was. She looked so fresh and innocent. Making sure to keep her head above water, she lowered her head backwards wetting her hair.
It was even blacker when it was wet, though when the sun hit her it shone like a halo.
And if she was an angel then what in the hell was she doing on this hellhole?
AJ gathered the stuff that they’d need to get clean and swam back towards Di.
He took a deep breath before speaking. He was pretty sure that she wasn’t going to react well and she was glad she was stuck in the middle of the lake at the moment.
“Di, you need to tell me what you’re doing here.”
Her eyes snapped towards his, narrowing in question.
“I don’t need to tell you anything.”
AJ couldn’t help it, he had to smile at her prickliness.
“I’m not going to claim that you’re the first woman to be dumped on the island but I can guarantee that none of them were as innocent as you.”
She crossed her arms over her chest. The action thrust her breasts up so he could just barely see her nipples above the rippling water.
“What makes you think that I’m innocent?”
What was it?
He couldn’t quite put his finger on it. It was clear that she could down a man with her bare hands, she’d already proven that. But there was an innocence about her. She wasn’t the kind of woman that would beat the shit out of a guy just for kicks.
Those were the women that got dumped on the island.
“I never said you were an angel,” though he thought she just might be his angel, “but you didn’t get dumped for something you did.”
He didn’t miss the shadow that passed over her eyes. She took a deep breath and held it.
AJ found himself praying to the gods he didn’t even believe in that she’d trust him, open up to him and tell him just what she was up to.
She exhaled the breath.
“What I told you before. You know, before I passed out, was true. I did come here looking for you.”
“But…”
She simply held her hand up silencing him before he could get any more of his question, questions, out.
“Shut up and I’ll answer any questions you have at the end.”
AJ nodded, keeping his mouth closed, one of the more difficult things he’d ever done in his life.
“I did come here looking for you, but I wasn’t alone.”
It killed him not to blurt out the question and ask who she was with. She was a master at anticipation.
She took another deep breath, held it and then released it slowly before she spoke again.
“I was with your brother.”
“I don’t have a brother.”
She laughed slightly and then leaned her head back again, wetting her hair.
“Yes, you do. Trust me, the resemblance is unmistakable.”
AJ had to take a break just like Di had. He took a deep breath and sank under the water.
He had a brother?
It wasn’t completely unheard of. Hell, most people probably had siblings, family, but who would know? Family was illegal, even out here on the islands.
But, if he closed his eyes and thought real hard, he did remember a brother.
No! He didn’t.
Those weren’t memories. They were nothing more than the delusions of someone who had been alone on an island for too many years.
Right?
Still holding his breath he opened his eyes under the water. Things sparkled as the sun hit the water. It was clear enough that he could see Di’s naked body.
She was so beautiful. Her tits floated, making them look so plump and round.
His cock pulsed slightly. He pushed himself out of the water. He really had to concentrate on what she was saying not on her delectable body. As much as he may want her again.
Since he couldn’t be underwater without staring at Di’s body, he grabbed the soap and started washing. His face first so that his eyes would have to be closed.
“So if you came with this supposed brother of mine, where is he now?”
He opened his eyes to see Di watching him. He quickly closed them again.
“I don’t know,” she said.
And that was what was killing Di, not knowing what had happened to Cal.
It killed her even more that she was able to forget about looking at him for a little bit while she dallied with AJ.
Well, no more of that. She was going to find Cal and get them, all three of them, the hell off of this island.
“So that’s why you were asking about the facility.”
“Do you think it’s possible he’s being kept there?”
AJ shrugged his shoulders.
/>
“Hell if I know.”
He dunked under the water once again to rinse himself. He popped back up and shook his head wildly to get the water off of his face.
In the process she ended up getting soaked.
“Sorry about that,” he muttered. Though she could secretly tell he was struggling not to laugh. “Are you ready to get out and head back?”
The water was nice, but she was starting to get a little wrinkly. But to get out of the water she was going to have to make it across the lake again.
She nodded.
She took one step before AJ put his hand on her shoulder to halt her.
“Where do you think you’re going?”
She looked at him with a question on her face. She pointed to the side of the lake where they’d gotten in.
“To get out.”
“I’m not going to make you swim,” he said. He took two steps towards her then turned his back to her. “Hang on.”
She wrapped her arms around his neck and jumped on his back. Her legs wrapped around his middle and he took off swimming.
Di felt tears in her eyes as they made their way across the lake.
She blinked them back though. Di didn’t cry.
But good Lord, what had she gotten herself into?
First, she was having feelings for Cal and now AJ was being so damn sweet. What in the hell was she doing? How could she possibly have feelings for two men at the same time?
“Are you all right?”
She hadn’t even realized that they’d reached the side of the lake. How long had they been standing there with her wrapped around him?
“Sorry,” she muttered climbing off his back.
“No problem. You felt pretty good there,” he said.
She laughed slightly and then climbed out of the lake. She picked up the scratchy towel and dried herself off.
Then she handed it over to AJ. She stood for a moment, nude, before rummaging through the clothes AJ had brought.
Finally, she decided on one of his shirts.
He was so tall and broad that the shirt came easily to her knees. She buttoned it from the bottom, leaving the top few buttons open.
“Well now, what in the hell am I supposed to wear?” He asked.
She turned to see AJ standing with his hands on his hips, dressed in nothing but brown leather pants, and those unbuttoned.
