  FAMILY

  1. How would you prefer to spend your holidays?

  (Mountains? Beach? Hotel/amusement parks? Camping/hiking/backpacking? With family?)

  Beach so I can ogle the girls in their bikinis (and he waggles his eyebrows)

  * * *

  2. How do you feel about relatives visiting?

  That is sufficient time to catch up on family activities.

  Longer is okay?

  NO

  Could they live with you?

  Absolutely out of the question. Do you know what my mother is like?

  * * *

  *E.B.NOTES: Now I am starting get a peak at the Hank under the Henry. The man who is more than a rank in the military. Little sense of humor above? Because his propriety and respect for people contradict the ogling remark. And if Mary turns out to be a good fit for him- his remarks about his mother, though sad, are encouraging for them as a couple. It would suit Mary nicely to be away from our mother so she can really come into her own. That is to say- IF- he and Mary are suited.

  * * *

  3. How would you manage family order? (i.e. Who would be in charge of what? Money/finances? Kids? House?)

  Money/finances?

  My wife and I would share this responsibility.

  Kids?

  Again, we would both share this responsibility.

  House?

  My wife. I’m at a loss when it comes to running a house. As a Colonel, I run other people’s lives instead.

  Inside?

  My wife with a little input from me.

  Outside?

  Moi, that is when I am at home. Being in the military, I am at the beck and call of my superiors.

  Cars?

  That is my bailiwick especially my 1968 fire engine red Camaro muscle car is my baby.

  Buying/Selling?

  I’m not sure but I believe we both would work on that.

  Maintaining?

  When I’m home, I am in charge of maintenance.

  * * *

  *E.B.NOTES: The transition from Colonel to corporation is going to difficult, I suspect. A selfless, giving person with a strong backbone is what he’ll need to get through this next phase. No one who is silly and flighty. Hm. Why do I always come back to Mary?

  * * *

  WHO ARE YOU?

  1. What is a motto or creed that you live by?

  Never, never, never give up.

  * * *

  2. What is your ideal rest day?

  Any day I can grab.

  * * *

  3. What is your most embarrassing moment?

  Hmm. I was flirting with the prettiest girl in school when I bent over and found my pants were too tight when the back seam parted company and I never…wore underwear.

  * * *

  4. Do you believe that you are a fun person?

  You need to ask my cousin Darcy that question, say I with a smirk.

  * * *

  5. Where do you see yourself in five years? Ten? Twenty?

  As a Major Ten? As a General Twenty? If I survive, I hope to be retired.

  * * *

  6. When do you want to retire?

  As soon as possible.

  * * *

  7. What does retirement look like to you?

  Peaceful. No war.

  * * *

  8. What kind of lifestyle do you want after retirement? (Active, laid-back, etc.)

  Oh, I will always be active. For me, staying idle is boring. Retirement is from the military, but I will never retire from working. Life must always have purpose for me.

  * * *

  9. Do you have a retirement account?

  None of your business. That’s personal.

  * * *

  10. How do you invest? (conservative, aggressive, etc.)

  If I invest, I am conservative.

  * * *

  11. Do you smoke?

  Absolutely not. Not only is it a bad habit, it could get you killed on the battlefield especially at night.

  * * *

  12. What are your strengths/ Weaknesses

  I have a great sense of humor and a smile that the ladies love.

  What are weaknesses?

  * * *

  WHAT DO YOU WANT?

  1. Do you consider intimacy more important than love?

  Well now, I believe I need to think about that one (he says with a smile and a wink.) Not really. Both are important, but I do want to marry for love.

  * * *

  2. How often do you expect intimacy?

  With a wife or a one-night stand? With a wife – whenever she is willing and able. Although, I have succumbed to the latter on occasion, for the most part, I do not care for them.

  * * *

  3. List four things you require in an intimate relationship.

  1. a pretty woman

  2. a willing spirit

  3. a sense of humor

  4. a woman who likes to cuddle

  * * *

  *E.B.NOTES: There’s a lot of contradiction in these responses. I’m not sure he is aware of it. He’s going through the motions of taking over in the Darcy billionaire business but if the Army were to call him back- would he go? I think so. Before he commits to any woman he must commit to the path he is on. He must accept it. Trick is- how can we get him there and perhaps I should take this questionnaire out of the pool?

  * * *

  If you don’t connect with someone right away, do you give them more chances to grow on you or do you move to the next person?

  Sometimes. It depends on the person.

  * * *

  Give us a little extra~

  I love the outdoors, horses and scuba diving. It would be wonderful if the lady I fall in love with loves them as well. A woman who is knowledgeable, willing to learn new things, and having a sense of humor would also be helpful.

  A woman doesn’t need to be the most beautiful in the room if she has a good personality, is out going and loves people. I hope to find a lady who causes people to smile with pleasure when they see her. Not for her looks but for who she is and the fact that they enjoy being with her.

  And, what about me? I’m willing to be the type of man she would be proud to have as a husband and a father to our children. I would like a marriage such as my cousin Darcy has with his wife, Elizabeth. They have a wonderful marriage and my younger cousins are the best in the world. I’m very proud of them.

  FAITH

  1. Do you belong to any religious organization, sect, or cult? Please list your denomination below.

  I’ve been reading a lot of Eckhart Tolle and other books about spirituality, meditation, and self-improvement lately and would like to meet another “seeker,” not necessarily a religious person.

  * * *

  DENOMINATION:

  1. How often do you go to church, synagogue, or other?

  I’ve been hitting some meditation groups and going to speaking events about spiritual topics, but nothing formal.

  2. Would you be willing to date someone outside your faith?

  I am not interested in organized religion myself, so if that is important to a person, we’re probably not a good fit.

  * * *

  MARRIAGE

  1. Are you seeking a life partner?

&nbs
p; Yes

  2. Do you want a family? How many children?

  I come from a large family, 4 sisters! I don’t plan on having such a large family myself, probably no more than 2 kids, but I’m in no rush. I had some eggs frozen! (My aunt had cervical cancer and gave me and my sisters the gift of egg retrieval for our 21st birthdays) Weird, I know.

  FAMILY

  1. How would you prefer to spend your holidays?

  (Mountains? Beach? Hotel/amusement parks? Camping/hiking/backpacking? With family?)

  Camping/Hiking/Backpacking. I was born in Colorado. We only lived there a short time before moving back to Meryton. I go back every chance I get. It’s in my blood. I love to take my dogs with me so that limits how far I can travel.

  With family? With a bunch of my friends.

  * * *

  2. How do you feel about relatives visiting?

  For a day or two? Longer? Could they live with you?

  Maybe my sisters. My mother is a bit much. Live with me? Sure, when I get my dog retreat, if they are willing to work, they can live there!

  * * *

  3. How would you manage family order? (i.e. Who would be in charge of what? Money/finances? Kids? House?)

  Money/finances? Together

  * * *

  Kids? If I have kids with someone, I want them equally involved

  * * *

  House? A neat freak would hate me! I am all about the mess. Dogs are messy, especially when they’ve never been trained. I have tile floors, which helps out, but my house smells like wet dog, has dog hair everywhere, and I wear vet scrubs or jeans and t-shirts which means I basically don’t even fold my clothes let alone hang them up! The dogs sleep on the bed.

  * * *

  Outside? I love to garden, but my condo balcony doesn’t give me room to grow (so to speak).

  * * *

  Cars? I’m not too particular about what I drive as long as it’s big enough for my dogs.

  * * *

  Buying/Selling? We do that together!

  * * *

  Maintaining: Five daughters and a lazy dad, I don’t know a screwdriver from a hole in the wall. I admire a man who can DIY, I find that extremely sexy!

  * * *

  *E.B.NOTES: We lived in Colorado for three years and she acts like we’ve ripped her from her tribe and forced to be a part of ours. Well, she really has struggled with be happy here. The moist air makes her cough a lot and with mom’s “pet allergies” Kitty sure hasn’t had it easy feeling her soul. For a while there she was heavily influenced by Lydia- Lord only knows why- but I’m happy to see she’s coming into her own. How does she bear it, sharing a room with Mary and Lydia?

  * * *

  WHO ARE YOU?

  1. What is a motto or creed that you live by?

  It’s totally cheesy, but that bumper-sticker “Wag more, bark less,” sums it up perfectly.

  * * *

  2. What is your ideal rest day?

  Okay, It’s ironic that my name is Kitty, because dogs are my life! The dogs wake me up for their morning walk to the dog park, while I drink about 4 shots of espresso at about six am every morning. I’m pretty much a workaholic, setting up my vet practice and no-kill shelter for abused dogs, so resting is not part of my vocabulary. I love what I do and am happiest helping dogs, meeting other dog lovers and sharing my experience with others in order to get people involved in what I do. No social life except with animals (not attracted in THAT way, however!) I love to be outside, hiking, mountain biking, whatever and I usually have one or more of my dogs with me. I like a good movie on the couch or hang out with friends drinking beer, tailgating, etc. Huge Broncos fan! I have excellent season tickets

  * * *

  3. What is your most embarrassing moment?

  My senior year in high school, I was skiing with a bunch of friends and got food poisoning. I was on a really long lift and trying to hold back a torrential…umm, you get the point. I skied off the lift and tried to make it to the bathroom, but my stomach exploded and I left a little brown trail all the way to the bathroom at the lodge! So embarrassing, I have NEVER lived that down. I’m pretty good at laughing at myself, but I do hope that is the most embarrassing thing that happens to me for the REST OF MY LIFE. (Oh, please DO NOT publish that, BTW. If you plan to do so, let me rewrite this!)

  * * *

  4. Do you believe that you are a fun person?

  I am totally fun, and I believe my friends would agree with me on that one. I like to get dirty, be outside, horse around, and I love animals. I also have a very silly sense of humor and like I said, I can laugh at myself.

  * * *

  5. Where do you see yourself in five years? Ten? Twenty?

  Five years, working my butt off building a successful vet practice and dog rescue foundation. I want to set up programs in prisons, with abused kids, military vets, people in recovery, dealing with mental illness, etc. to place rescued dogs with people who can understand what the dogs have suffered through because they’ve had it really rough themselves. I hope I am married or planning it. In ten years, On a few acres just outside a large city where I can house 50+ rescue dogs at a time. I hope I’m married with a couple of kids, but if I’m not married, I’ll definitely be planning to do it on my own. Twenty years, I hope things are running so smoothly with my business and programs that I can start to take vacations

  * * *

  6. When do you want to retire?

  I don’t really think what I do ends at a certain age, so I’ve never thought about retirement. I do want to travel, I did a lot of travel with my parents and in college but since graduating vet school it’s been way too hard to find that kind of time.

  * * *

  7. What does retirement look like to you?

  Some people separate their lives that way, they do something they don’t really love in order to pay for a future they think they want. That is not how I’ve planned my life, so I hope I never retire! I would like to know that I am financially secure in case of health issues, but other than that I don’t really think of my future that way.

  * * *

  8. What kind of lifestyle do you want after retirement? (Active, laid-back, etc.)

  See Above

  * * *

  9. Do you have a retirement account?

  Not yet!

  * * *

  10. How do you invest? (conservative, aggressive, etc.)

  Right now all my money is being plowed into my vet and rescue activities, but I am taking care of my needs and feel confident I can deal with whatever comes my way. When I get a bit more solid, I will start saving to buy land, etc.

  * * *

  11. Do you smoke?

  I want to live in Colorado, what do you think? I do not smoke tobacco.

  * * *

  12. What are your strengths?

  I’m a hard worker, independent, and driven by my vision and values. I’m compassionate and want to help others. I follow my heart and don’t let setbacks discourage me. I’m low maintenance and it doesn’t take a lot to please me. Basically, wag tail, slobbery kiss, and I’m hooked.

  * * *

  13. What are your weaknesses?

  I’m pretty focused on my own dreams, which makes it difficult to integrate another person into my life. I get a lot of my affection and companionship needs met by my dogs, so I often don’t miss having human company around. I’m so low maintenance that I kind of wonder what I need from someone that I can’t do for myself. I don’t make a great deal of effort to impress other people, so I think I can get overlooked—that’s what I’ve been told.

  * * *

  Oh, beer and chocolate. Big, big weaknesses!

  * * *

  WHAT DO YOU WANT?

  1. Do you consider intimacy more important than love? Well, I’m a 25 year old virgin, (please keep that to yourself). I have just never met anyone I wanted to go that far with and then I got to a certain age and it became a bigger deal not a smaller one (As
in, I’ve kept it all these years, what makes you think you deserve it! There’s also the embarrassment factor). I think I want to feel in love and be in a committed relationship, so Love, I guess.

  * * *

  2. How often do you expect intimacy?

  At least once in my life! Ha ha!

  * * *

  3. List four things you require in an intimate relationship.

  1. Someone who won’t think it’s weird that I’m inexperienced.

  2. Someone who IS experienced.

  3. Someone who is adventurous—because even though I haven’t had sex, I think I’d be a pretty kinky girl!

  4. Cuddling

  * * *

  4. If you don’t connect with someone right away, do you give them more chances to grow on you or do you move to the next person?
