Unsportsmanlike Conduct

"Hey, you." Gia poked her head in from the porch. "You don't have to hide that beer from me, you know. You can drink it out here." She smiled at him.
She stood in the doorway, the light from the fire illuminating her face and hair. Her jersey and shoes had been discarded in the living room but his number was still painted on her cheek.
He couldn't help but admire her beauty. This amazing woman was the reason for his nervousness. Was he worthy of her?
"Are you going to just stand there and stare at me, or come back outside? I'm getting lonely," she playfully whined.
"Okay." He paused when he got to her and looked down, brushing his lips against hers softly. He wrapped his arm around her waist and they walked out onto the porch.
Patrick sat down beside her on the love seat. It seemed just as cushioned as the chairs and he hoped she wouldn't start talking about the damn cushions again.
Gia cuddled in next to him, pulling her legs up to her chest. They sat and stared at the fire for a while. He couldn't stop watching her. His heart felt so full with her in his arms.
"Too bad this isn't our place," she said softly, breaking the silence.
"Why's that?"
"How romantic would it be to have sex out here on the porch by the fire?" She looked back at the fire and moved her hand down his thigh. "Or in the pool," she added.
The thought made Patrick twitch; he could feel his pants tighten. He was still in his dress pants that he wore home from the game. The sleeves of his white dress shirt were rolled up to his elbows and the first three buttons were undone. There wasn't a lot of room in those dress pants and after she said that, there was even less. He took a breath; he needed to stay in control. He had plans and if they started fooling around, he wouldn't be able to stop. Everything would derail. "So, you'd like a place like this?" he asked, trying to sway the conversation. However, he had noticed that she said our place.
"Yeah," she said simply.
Patrick slid his hand and arm down to her side and held her tight.
"Good to know," he said so quietly she almost didn't hear him. The night was peaceful as the fire crackled; it's heat on their faces, the cool night air blowing gently around them. He lifted his beer bottle to his lips and poured the remaining cool liquid down his throat. It was now or never and for a big bad hockey player, he was terrified. He’d hoped the beer would help, but it didn't.
"Patrick, you feel like you are shaking." Gia said just as Patrick slid away from her and stood up.
He clumsily dug into his pocket, fumbling until his large fingers grabbed the family heirloom tight.
Gia scrunched her face up in confusion. "Patrick? What–" Then her eyes widened in comprehension.
"Gia." Patrick knelt down on one knee, his body trembling, his face serious. "Baby girl, you make me a better person. You bring out qualities in me that I didn't even know I had. I first laid eyes on you at Kris's pool party, right here in fact." He looked around the backyard "That's when I knew. I knew you were it for me. I didn't want anyone else. During the year we spent apart, I did nothing but think about you and knew that if I got the chance to be with you again, I would never let you go." He paused for a moment and swallowed hard. He wiped his now blurry eyes. "Baby, now that I have you, I never want us to be apart. You are my everything." He saw tears well up in her eyes as he fought back his own. "Gia Torella, I want you to be the center of my world for the rest of my life. Will you do me the honor," he asked and pulled the ring out of his pocket and held it out for her, "of being my wife?" He still trembled while he held his breath. He watched her face, hoping for the only answer he wanted to hear.
Gia bit her lip and when he pulled out the ring, tears flowed from her eyes. "Patrick," she gasped then covered her mouth.
"Gia? Please don't make me beg, baby girl." He chuckled nervously as his voice cracked. He was still down on bended knee waiting for her answer, hoping she would say yes.
"Oh my gosh! YES!!" she yelled. "Yes, yes, a million times YES!" Tears continued to flow down her cheeks.
Patrick jumped up, grabbed her around her waist, lifted her off the ground and kissed her sweet lips. He set her down just long enough to slip the ring on her finger. "G, you have made me the happiest man ever." She swung her arms around his neck as he kissed her deeply. "I love you, baby girl," he whispered in a deep quiet voice.
He finally sat down pulling her next to him. She admired the ring in the light of the fire. "It was my grandmother's ring. I think it was in the family before it was hers though. I was always told the ring is from the nineteen twenties. My dad kept the ring after she passed and eventually Uncle Matthieu kept it for either Kris or I."
"It’s only a one point five carat diamond. I know it isn't flashy but I thought you would enjoy a ring that has been in my family for such a long time. I promise to buy you an amazing wedding band that has diamonds the whole way around." He really wanted her to wear his grandma's ring, but afraid it wouldn’t be enough. Kat had a really flashy ring, and he hoped Gia wasn’t disappointed with this one.
"Patrick, hush." She put her finger to his lips. "It is beautiful and I love it. It doesn't matter to me what kind of wedding band you get me; I love this ring because you gave it to me and it has special meaning to you." She moved her finger from his lips and kissed them lightly. "I love you," she said against his lips. She wrapped her arms around him and laid her head on his chest. "But why didn't Kris give it to Kat?"
"Because he always told me it would be mine. Kris always said I would someday meet the girl of my dreams and I, of course, did not believe him. He said he wanted me to keep it for when I found that special woman, a woman worthy of this ring. I just figured it would get passed on to the next generation … until I met you." He sighed heavily as if he had been holding his breath forever. "I never dreamt I would meet someone as amazing as you. I never thought I could be so in love with someone. But you changed all that Gia."
"Patrick, I love you. I also never thought I would meet such an amazing guy. My sister had Kris, her prince charming, her happily ever after. I just figured only one of us would get that." She sat up in front of him, her lips just inches from his, their bodies just barely touching. "Until you. You are my happily ever after, my really hot Prince Charming. I feel so lucky to have found you, even if it did happen the way it did." She climbed on top of him, laying her tiny body on his muscular one. Her lips just grazed his.
"Funny," he said softly as he lips parted. "Kris always told me things happened for a reason."
Gia grinned. "I believe that now. Things do happen for a reason, even if they hurt at first." She wrapped her arms around his shoulders and slid them up to the back of his neck, pressing her lips to his. "Maybe we should get you out of these slacks," she said as she looked down at his waist and tried to tug at his button.
He moaned a little at her touch. He lifted her up and laid her down on the cushioned seat as he kneeled, looking down at her. Her jeans were really in the way right now. He ran his hands up her thighs, teasing her by running his thumbs up the inside of her legs and just against her heated core. Then he lifted her shirt up and tossed it to the floor. He slid his mouth up her body, sucking at her tiny waist, running his tongue up to her bra.
"How about we take this down to your room?"
"My sister will be home soon, I'm sure," Gia whispered. “Let’s head back to your place.”
"Baby girl, they’re out enjoying their night. Let’s enjoy ours," he growled in her ear. "Plus, I don't think I could drive to my place right now." He let out a low chuckle. He was way too aroused right now to go anywhere.
Gia bit her lip nervously. "I just don't know. Do you think it would be okay?"
"I don't think they'll mind. I mean, how much could they hear anyway? We're in the basement," he said, trying to convince Gia, even though he knew how much he’d heard last summer when he stayed in the basement. "C'mon."
CHAPTER 26
PATRICK
Patrick stood up as qu
ickly as he was able to and pulled Gia up off the lounge seat. He reached for her face, cradling it in his hands and kissed her lips. Pulling away, he said, "Baby girl, you have no idea how happy you have made me." He grabbed her left hand. She really was the girl of his dreams.
"Why don't you show me?" she whispered playfully into his ear. Her lips curled into a grin, and she nipped at his earlobe.
"Oh? I can definitely do that," Patrick said, as he pulled her hips to his, pushing his hard erection into her midsection. "Let me take care of this fire pit first." He let her go for just a second as he put out the fire.
Gia had already gone inside. There wasn't much light in the house and now with the fire out, there was even less. He looked around as he walked in the porch door and shut it tight, locking it. "G?" he called not seeing her anywhere.
He heard a faint, "down here" from the basement.
Patrick headed down the steps then closed the door behind him. "Does this door still have a lock on it?" He used to stay here when he was in town, while he played for Los Angeles. Kris had renovated this basement as an apartment for him and this door had a lock on it then.
"Yeah, I'm pretty sure it does," Gia called up the steps just as he found the slide lock on the top of the door.
"I got it," he said as he put it into place. He never used it when he lived here, but right now it was nice to have. He walked down the steps. It was dim because of the candles Gia lit.
She leaned on the doorway, waiting for him in only her Dubois number twelve Renegades t-shirt, her hair still in a ponytail. She motioned 'come here' with a wiggle of her pointer finger and a smile on her face.
Patrick's pants tightened all over again. He hurried over to Gia and tried to grab her around the waist. She wiggled out of his grasp and turned toward the bedroom. He chased after her, smacking her on the ass.
"Hey!" she squealed with excitement.
Patrick shut her bedroom door behind him. Gia stood not far from him by her dresser. Her small room consisted of a bed, a dresser and a nightstand on either side of her bed. He walked over to her and took her face in his hands, looking into her eyes. He pressed his warm lips to hers, sliding his tongue into her waiting mouth. "God, I love you," he whispered against her lips. He tilted his forehead to rest against hers.
She led him by the hand to her bed. "Thought you were going to show me how much you loved me?" She pretended to pout then proceeded to unbutton and unzip his slacks, slide her hand into his boxers and wrap her hand around his already hard dick. He closed his eyes for a second as his body reacted to her touch. He stepped out of his slacks as she undid the remaining buttons of his dress shirt, tossing it to the side.
"Oh, I can definitely do that. Come here." He tugged at Gia’s shirt and pulled her backwards into him. He slid his boxers down to the floor and ripped her panties off, causing her to let out a gasp.
Patrick ran his hand up under her shirt, sliding his fingers along her skin. He dug his fingertips into her hips as he slowly pushed his hard dick inside her. Patrick bit his lip trying to keep control; she was so wet he wanted to come right then. Closing his eyes, he managed to regain his composure. He slid out and then forcefully pulled her hips to him again.
Gia let out a groan as she reached for her bed to steady her body. She gripped the covers as he moved into her fully.
He grabbed at her ponytail. A seductive smile crossed her lips as he tugged at her hair. She desperately dug her fingers into the sheets. She gripped at the fabric as her body tightened.
Patrick could see her struggling to keep control of her body and he wasn't ready for her to climax yet. The fun had just started. He growled a low, "Come here, baby."

GIA
He slid her t-shirt off, haphazardly tossing it away from the bed. The feel of his strong, hard, body sent heat sensations through her. She wanted him to have his way with her and didn't need him to be gentle about it. He held her body tightly as he nipped at the back of her shoulder, pulling her hips to his, holding her at the perfect angle as he thrust his hard erection deep inside her. A moan formed at the back of her throat. She tried to stay quiet, just in case they weren't home alone, but she couldn't help it as the wild groan escaped her lips.
Gia pushed her hips against him, giving him more access to fully enter her. He pumped harder. Just when he was on the brink, he turned her around and kissed her lips, shoving his tongue into her warm mouth.
He tugged at her ponytail holder, sliding it out of her hair, and her long wavy hair fell to her shoulders. He smiled as he ran his fingers through it and looked into her eyes.
Quickly, Patrick looked away and slid his body down the bed in front of Gia. "Patrick, what–" she asked but was quickly cut off by the feel of his unshaven face against her thighs. She let out a soft groan as he pulled her legs up, resting them on his shoulders. He kissed up her thighs then tasted her warm, moist center. He ran his tongue over her, eventually plunging inside her.
Gia's body arched up and her head went back as he worked magic with his tongue. Her body had never been so on fire before; the room was spinning, and all she wanted him to do was fuck her. "Patrick, please," she begged, barely audible.
"Not yet, baby," he said. Stopping for a moment, he kissed her inner thigh. "I want you to come first, I want to feel you. Just let go, baby,” he grumbled in a low seductive voice.
Before Gia could answer, he tasted her again and her body shook. She closed her eyes as he pushed his tongue into her. She wanted to hold out, but he made that impossible.
"Baby, come. I want you to."
She knew it was no use and relaxed and enjoyed the feel of his wet mouth against her tender flesh. Her body went rigid and she exploded with intoxicating pleasure.
Gia's body still pulsated as Patrick sat in front of her with a very satisfied grin. He wiped his chin and grabbed her legs, resting her ankles on his shoulders. He pushed his hard dick inside her warm, still throbbing folds. He adjusted his legs and hips, pulling her closer to him and dug his fingers into her sides.
Suddenly, Gia let out a gasp, signaling he’d hit the right spot. He thrust slowly in and out, making her squirm under him. Breathing heavily, her pulse raced and her need for him intensified. Her body was hungry for more and by the sly grin on his face, he knew it. Holding her hips tightly to his and lifting her up off the bed, he quickened his tempo and rode her hard, letting out small groans with every thrust. Her body arched again and she trembled. Patrick thrust hard and then exploded, spilling his seed inside of her. Gia screamed out and her body let go a second time, her insides throbbing around his dick as her body released again.
She’d never felt so completely spent in her life. Her body ached but also basked in complete satisfaction. She didn't know if it was the excitement from the proposal, the amazing sex she just had or both. But her entire body tingled with joy.
Patrick collapsed at her side, letting out a hard breath. He ran his hand down her sweaty stomach, and she moaned from his touch.
"Wow," she said, breathlessly.
"Just wow? I thought I would rate that more like amazing," Patrick teased.
"Okay, yes, amazing," she corrected herself.
Patrick grabbed at her hand and kissed her ring finger. "Are you happy, baby?"
She leaned over and kissed his lips. "Very." She flashed a grin. "Right now, I am exhausted." She curled up next to him and snuggled against his bare body. He wrapped his arms around her as they both fell asleep.
CHAPTER 27
PATRICK
"Well, good morning you two," Kris said as Patrick and Gia walked up the steps and into the kitchen. He had startled them, standing there with a cup of coffee.
"Oh, hey, cuz," Patrick said. "I guess you saw the Hummer out front, huh?" he asked, wondering at first why Kris wasn't surprised that he was there.
"Yeah, saw the white Hummer." He nodded, taking a sip of his coffee with a grin.
Just then, Kat walked into the kitchen. "Yep saw the
Hummer, also it sounded like yinz guys were having a really nice time last night," Kat said with a chuckle.
"Oh, my god." She groaned, hiding her face in Patrick’s chest.
"Oh stop it. You of all people have never been embarrassed about anything." Kat laughed at her sister. "So, I see you never made it back to Pat's house."
"No, we got, um, side tracked." Patrick shrugged, looking down at Gia.
"Yeah, I bet." Kris let out a chuckle, his coffee cup still at his lips.
Patrick shot him a look; he wanted to laugh. Between guys this was hilarious, but Gia was embarrassed so he held back.
"Gia." Patrick motioned to her ring. Kris knew he planned on popping the question, but Kat didn't have a clue.
"Well, since we are all here we have some news." She held out her left hand to Kris and Kat and waited for their reaction.
"Oh my God! Yay!" Kat screamed. She ran to her sister and squeezed her tightly. "Congrats, you guys!" Kat literally jumped up and down.
"Kat you’re a nut," Gia said as her sister freaked out. "But thank you. Check this ring out. It was their grandmother's."
"Oh Gia, it is beautiful! I am so happy for you. For both of you! Yay!" Kat gushed.
"Congratulations, you two," Kris said with a smile. He gave Gia a hug and shook his cousin's hand, then pulled him into a hug. "Told you. Meant to be," he said quietly.
Patrick looked over at his soon-to-be bride, flashing her a huge grin. Gia looked up at him, as a smile spread across her face.
Kat danced around the kitchen singing, "My lil' sister's getting married!" She stopped and blurted out, "I have to go get Ian at Mom and Dad's today. You have to tell them before I go over there."
Gia grimaced. "Okay, I will. I promise." She wrapped her arms around Patrick's middle, hugging him tight.
"Awwww." Kat cooed. "I am so happy. This is awesome!"
"Okay." Kris clapped his hands together. "Who wants waffles?" He turned to the counter and started to mix the batter for breakfast.
