“That’s what I’m afraid of. What is he capable of if he knows his secret’s out?”
I smirk. “I can take him. Trust me.”
He groans. “Make it fast.”
I head toward Zeke at the end of the alley, and the closer I get, the more uncomfortable I grow. Something is off with Zeke. His stance, the way his hands are pushed into the pockets of his jeans—all of his mannerisms are off. Maybe Luke is right. He might be unhinged and dangerous.
“Tori,” he sneers. “I see you’ve been sneaking around with Satan. Now you’re his whore too?”
I jerk back. His voice. His words. Nothing is right about him.
I turn toward Luke, ready to call for help, but it never happens. Before I’m able to say a word or Lucifer is able to react to my distress, I’m scooped up into Zeke’s arms and everything goes black.
