Fate and Dreams

  “That…was…indescribable,” Victor sighed.

“It will only become greater the longer we are together,” Vala sighed.

Victor and Vala stayed close as they lay on their sides, facing each other and holding each other close.

“I can’t believe we're here, together,” Victor smiled.

“I knew we would be,” Vala said with a breathy whisper.

“You really had this planned from the beginning?”

Vala nodded. “For the most part. I didn’t expect Draygon but otherwise, it flowed together.”

Victor ran his fingers along Vala’s curves. “What did Thulu mean, about a war?”

Vala’s small smile faded. “A celestial alignment is approaching. Battlegrounds will be chosen as the divine forces of light and dark choose their armies and champions. It will be a period of great violence and great reward. Should one side win, the victor will influence every realm across this universe.”

Victor stared. “I take it we don’t have a choice.”

Vala shook her head slightly. “No, it will be thrust upon us and we must fight or realms will suffer extinction if the darkness wins.”

“I had a feeling this was not the end,” Victor smirked.

“It is only the beginning, my love,” Vala said with a soothing edge.

The couple held onto each other, the night spiraling on. Victor pulled the goddess close when she smiled and sat up amid the puffy cloud.

“I have a gift for you,” Vala smiled and raised her hand to the heavens.

Victor sat up and wasn’t sure what she meant when a rift appeared before them. Chairs lined in rows as people sat down. A big screen appeared in the dark room while Victor and Vala stared into the rift. Confusion circled the demi-god as he wondered what was happening until he saw it for what it was, a theater back on Earth.

The screen lit up and the crowd settled down. Previews played and Victor’s divine heart began to beat a little faster.

“Are you…serious!” he nearly shouted with a smile.

It’s taking some effort, but I believe I can hold this one-way rift open for a few hours while we enjoy the movie,” Vala smiled.

Victor looked to the goddess, “I fucking love you!”

Vala kept her smile. “I fucking love you too.”

The couple settled into the floating cloud, holding each other and watching as the title “Avenger’s End Game” appeared on the screen, a whisper of undying love and sweet affection connecting their souls like twin suns across the universe.
