A Witch's Destiny

Vanir drove the point of the dagger into its throat and left it to drown in his own blood. A hand seized him from behind. Vanir slammed his boot heel down onto the vamps instep and wrenched loose when he cried out in pain. By the time he turned the man was down dying. Vanir stood over him, brought out a bottle of wolfsbane and slammed it on him. He melted like wax.

Kane was counting the vamps as he killed them. Calling out "Twenty-six" as one went down and "twenty-seven", a heartbeat later. He could hear voices scream and others roll in terror. The butchery and blood maddened some. "Twenty-eight" shouted Kane, but beside him was another person who sprawled with one leg twisted under him, and the shadows kept on coming, shouting and rustling.

"We are battling the Lycanthrophe's a deadly specie of werewolves that are tedious to kill, hard to slaughter and you are just counting twenty-eight!" Kane smiled.

  "I thought you were injured,"

  "My soul isn't bleeding,"

Aiden shot a vamp straight in the head. Divina had given him the AMT AutoMag V. More werewolves drew close to him and he killed all three with a bullet.

"Twenty nine and dam you all," Kane called out. He pulled out two daggers and sent them through the air taking two wolves at once. The second didn't fall quick so he stabbed him with the knife. He rose again, smeared with blood and mud. Five werewolves surrounded him at once. Kane was able to kill two but he lost his footing, the axe head from the axe he was holding crushed against his temple. Swiftly, the world went red and black and red again. Pain crackled up his leg like lightning and some meters away he could hear the killer say,

"you bloody cunt," as he lifted up his short sword for the blow that would finish him, but a force pulled Kane from where he stood upward as if he had been magnetized.

Strong powerful winds travelled strongly around him from left to right.

He couldn't see anything except the dead, bleak shadows of the dying werewolves. The wolves began to flee in their wolf forms. So much had happened they didn't want to risk their lives any longer.

"COWARD, HOW DID YOU ever ascend the throne?"

Blackclaw evaded the question. "Our little kitten got some guts,"

He then turned to the evil witch behind him.

"Let me hurt her where it hurts before you finish her off" Blackclaw said. He was making his way to kill Aiden.

"Weakness! Weakness! It's all over you. Your Magic can't stand mine," her voice roared. Divina managed to stand up. Her chest still flowed with blood. She sprinkled some white dust on her skin and fell down again. It comforted her instantly. She lay on the pinching sand beneath her. Her mind tried hard to travel to the dream world.

"You were right. I am a weak witch but a smart one,"

Immediately she stretched her sword to Blackclaw. A strong beam of fire blared out of its tip. It hit Blackclaw and he fell immediately. Most of the vamps were injured and the majority had retreated. Kane caught the evil witch in his firm grip. Divina crawled towards Blackclaw. When she held the pendant she knew what it meant immediately. The witch and Blackclaw were sharing power. They were bound to each other. If one dies the other does the same. Blackclaw had been hiding because he feared that he would get killed first. The evil witch was his strongest weapon. The strength in Divina had increased seeing that Blackclaw was down. She got up, walked to where he was, cut his head off with just one swing. The remaining parts of Blackclaw's body dissolved into black ashes. The head remained whole his blood shot eyes staring blankly into space.

Four heartbeats next, the evil witch fell on the ground. With blood dripping from her mouth she turned all the werewolves to their natural form.

  "Eow sceal bi wryiz faerever"

Which meant-"You shall be this forever,"

  Turning to Divina she coughed out her last words;

"The prophecy will never be fulfilled."

"Shut up," Kane shouted as he yanked out her heart in a split second. As his body transformed into that of his wolf.

Divina's eyes searched the compound for her Dad. He eyes finally found his. He dropped the phone he held to his ear which clattered to the ground and Divina heard it smash from where she stood.

The pain in his eyes was raw. Deep and cut through Divina like a knife.

  "Dad, where's Mom?"

  Aiden didn't respond.
