Chasing Xander

by Lexi Lawton

He would never tire of hearing her say his name like that, so needy and full of love. Until right now, he never realized it, but she’d always said his name that way. How long had she been hiding her true feelings for him? He eased a finger inside her silky, saturated folds, stroking the delicate flesh of her inner walls, his thumb circling her clit.

“You’re so wet.” He smirked, working his fingers deeper into her, stroking, rubbing, teasing her flesh into pleasure. “So ready for me.”

“Yes,” she panted. “Please. I need you. I need you inside me.”

The first signs of her tightening around his fingers had him slowly pulling them from the warmth of her body. He grabbed the condom. His hands trembled with anticipation as he put it on and then lowered his body down onto hers, pressing his erection against her sensitive sex. “That what you want, baby?”

  She nodded.

He kissed her slowly, his tongue rolling over hers like a lazy river. He lifted her leg, bending it at the knee so her foot was flat on the mattress. She moved beneath him, rotating her hips, enticing him. Good thing he wasn’t trying to take things slow because there was no way in hell he could stop himself now. He was too far gone, and nothing would soothe him except for her.

Adjusting his body, he pressed his cock against her opening. The warmth of her shot through him, erupting in a fever as he pushed his way inside. Inch by agonizing inch, he took his time, savoring the feel of her spreading for him, stretching around his hard cock as it disappeared inside her. No matter how often they had sex, every time he entered her, it felt like the first time all over again.

“Fuck, you feel so good.” He groaned.

“Ah, God!” Her head fell back against the pillow as his final push buried him fully, and her eyes closed. She wrapped her legs around his waist, tucking her heels under his ass. Whimpering, then moaning, she tightened her legs around him and dug her nails into the flesh of his back.

He crushed his mouth to hers, desperate to feel every single inch of her. They were as physically close as they could get, yet it wasn’t enough. He needed more, needed to be closer. Her inner walls sucked him deeper, milking him, riding his thrusts. He steadily and skillfully pushed her to the edge of insanity before retreating to a slower, more controlled movement. His thrusts were diabolical, torturous.

“Look at me, Ky,” he whispered against her lips. Her eyes popped open, locking with his. There was so much innocence and trust in her gaze. “I love you.” He mouthed the words more than said them.

His cock swelled inside her, ready to explode with his release. “Shit…” He gritted his teeth and put his weight into his arms, pushing into her harder, faster, deeper until she was literally screaming his name. The walls in the residence halls were thin, and he didn’t need someone interrupting them, mistaking her cries of pleasure for screams for help. He should’ve turned on some music to drown out their sounds.

He pressed his lips against hers, tasting her raging desire, muffling her cries. She tightened around him. She was going to come, and damn if he wasn’t going to do the same. No matter how hard he tried to hold back, there was no stopping it.

With his final thrust, her release showered his cock seconds before he jerked inside her. Her arms locked around his neck as they were swept up in a wave of raw bliss. Collapsing onto her, he buried his face in her hair. Her labored, rasping breath tickled his neck as she clung to him.

“I’m never going to get tired of this,” she said.

He chuckled and lifted his head enough that he could kiss her tenderly. “Me, either.”

She grazed the nape of his neck with her fingernails. “You’re out of the house, aren’t you?”

Momentarily stunned by her abrupt change of topic, he said, “Yes.” He kissed the tip of her nose. “But that’s okay.” He kissed each of her cheeks. “Because I don’t need the frat. I need you. I’ll find somewhere else to live. And I want you to move in with me.”

  “You’re serious?”

  “Yes.”

  “No.” She shook her head.

“What?” He laughed, certain she was teasing him. “You don’t want to move in with me?”

  “No,” she repeated.

“But how will I be able to play with your panties again?” He gave her a devilish smile. “Seriously, the day you tripped and your underwear went spilling all over the ground… Best day of my life.”

She shook her head, smiling. “That was a pretty great day, huh?”

  “So…you’ll move in with me?”

“No,” she said with a laugh. “Everything is still so new between us. I don’t want to rush things and ruin them.”

He eased out of her. She really didn’t want to live with him? He’d been so sure she—they—were ready for this next step. How could he have been so wrong? He stood and disposed of the condom before returning to the bed and sitting on the edge of the mattress.

“And I made a promise to Celeste that we’d experience college together. I can’t break my word.” She kneeled behind him and kissed his back.

Her loyalty was just one of the many things he loved about her, and he didn’t want to come between her and Celeste. He twisted to look at her. “I know.” He smiled. “And I won’t ask you to do that.”

“Thank you.” She wrapped her arms around him.

“Either way, I’m going to have to find a new place to live, and you can spend the night whenever you want.” Xander pushed her back down onto the bed and kissed her. He had every intention of being with her—forever. And he’d do whatever was necessary to make that happen.

“Yeah, I don’t know… I might need a few days to think about that.” Her face lit up with a smile.

He laughed. “God, I love you so much.” He pressed a tender kiss to her forehead, then down the bridge of her nose until his mouth was poised above hers. “Don’t ever stop giving me a hard time, okay?”

  “Never,” she whispered.

First and foremost, another huge heap of gratitude to my amazing editor, Karen Grove. You push me to my breaking point, but I’m that much better for it. So don’t ever stop pushing.

To Jody Holford, whose constant encouragement helped me get through this book when I didn’t think I could. I’m pretty sure she loves Xander more than I do at this point. (Okay, not really, but she is a huge fan.)

To Kat and Eden for constantly dragging me out of my pit of self-doubt and worry. Your never-ending support means more to me than I can ever express in words. Everyone should have friends like you two.

To Liz Pelletier and the Entangled Publishing family, thanks for letting me write and publish a second book with you. Here’s to hoping there are a few more in my future.

And last but not least, thanks to my agent, Dawn Dowdle, without who none of this would have been possible.
