Epilogue
Three months later.
Waking up slowly from a deep sleep, after having the most marvelous dream about their wedding day; marrying Nathaniel officially at the courthouse, and then a few days later having a private ceremony for the three of them to pledge their love for each other. She felt a sense of relief in knowing she was theirs, and they were hers. Keeley got up to an empty bed and quiet house, except for Rowdy, snoring loudly on his bed in the corner. Knowing the guys had to go into work today after such a long honeymoon, she felt at peace in her new life. Knowing everything bad that happened led to her having such wonderful and attentive men, a new family she adored, and friends she loved. Keeley felt like her life was complete; except for one thing. The one thing Nathaniel and Tyler had been hinting at, and she always shied away from.
A baby.
What they didn’t know though was that she wanted to surprise them with a pregnancy, knowing they would be happy no matter what. After the sexcapades of their honeymoon, and every moment before, she felt pretty confident that she probably was, since she never got her birth control shot updated two months ago.
Getting up and going to the washroom, she grabbed one of the tests she’d covertly gotten on her last trip to the drug store. Opening the package and sitting on the toilet, she peed on the stick as instructed. Setting it on the counter, she washed her hands and brushed her teeth, while waiting. Thinking about the events that unfolded before they got engaged, she knew she should have been sad or mad, or something. But what she felt was nothing. Her father had never been a real father to her, he didn’t love her and he took every opportunity to tell her that. When Nathaniel had asked her for forgiveness for having to killing him she had cried, not because he was dead, but because Nathaniel felt she would be angry at him for having done it.
They had helped her give her father a proper burial, but that was all she had left for the man who hurt her for the entirety of her life. She had vowed then and there, at his grave site, not to give him anymore of herself. Shaking off the depressing thoughts, Keeley felt a kernel of excitement at what she was doing in the present.
Closing her eyes and taking a deep breath she looked at the stick. With tears in her eyes and a full heart at seeing the twin pink lines, she squealed and jumped around in her excitement. Picking up the stick and going to her nightstand to grab her cell phone, she laid down on her back on the bed, pulled up her shirt and placed the pregnancy test on her stomach. She then took a photo, sending it in a dual message to Nathaniel and Tyler. It didn’t take long for her to get a response.

With her heart full of love and her husbands happy, Keeley relished in the feeling of contentment, knowing she was finally where she was supposed to be.
