Lucien Page 20

“Let it rest in your palm and keep your hand flat. That way she won’t nibble your fingers.”

“Why would I voluntarily feed a creature that might bite me?”

Peter rolled his eyes. “She’s not going to bite you hard enough to hurt, but she’ll have trouble grabbing the treat if you curl up your hand.”

I frowned at Peter, not at all sure that was true, but I’d faced down trained assassins, so surely I could let a small pony eat a treat from my hand. I held my hand out where Clover could reach it. She snuffled, and it tickled, but I bit my lip to keep from laughing. When she snatched the treat and pulled her head back, I yanked my hand away. “There. I did it. Are you happy?”

Peter laughed. “I’ll be happier when you learn to relax around her, but I’m very proud of you. Good job.”

I snarled at him, but Cathy called out to us before I had a chance to say anything else. She was ready to start Peter’s lessons.

He’d taken easily to riding. Cathy was amazed at the progress he’d made in only a few lessons. I leaned against the corral fence, not even worrying about it scratching my suit. The things I did for this boy. As I was watching him walk Prince over some low poles, my phone rang. I glanced at it and saw it was Vinnie. I owed him a lot for the help he’d given my family with the Riccis, so I took the call.

  “Marchesi.”

“Mr. Marchesi, I’ve confirmed Mario’s and Stefan’s involvement in the trafficking ring Jimmy mentioned, and…” His voice broke for a moment. “I’ve also confirmed that Mario is the man who killed my sister. I want your permission to make the kill.”

I wanted Mario for myself, but I couldn’t deny Vinnie this right. “Do you know where he is?”

“He fled town, knowing we were on to him for more than what he did to you. Word is he fancied a Caribbean vacation.”

“Permission granted. Track him down and eliminate him.”

  “Thank you, sir.”

“Keep in touch, and after you make Mario disappear, take some time for yourself. You’ve earned it.” Once Mario was gone, Elena and her children would be able to return to the city.

“Will do, sir. I appreciate that.”

I ended the call and watched the rest of Peter’s lesson. After Prince had been brushed and put back into his stall, Peter and I retrieved the picnic basket Lola had packed for us and headed to a secluded spot on the property that Cathy had suggested.

I knew there would be many more challenges to come, but for now, things were quiet in the wake of the war with the Riccis, and I intended to enjoy every moment of time I had to spend with Peter. We ate the finger foods Lola had packed for us, drank wine, and soaked up the sun. I couldn’t recall a time when I’d been happier.

When we finished eating, Peter and I lay back and looked up at the clouds. I enjoyed looking for shapes in the sky, something I hadn’t done since I was a kid, but after a while, the feel of Peter’s warm body pressed against mine made me forget about clouds and start thinking about how much I wanted to take him there under the bright blue sky with the warmth of the sun on our bodies.

I kissed him, gently at first and then harder, my tongue tangling with his. He returned the kiss with equal passion and pulled me down on top of him. My hand slid down his body to grip his cock and give him long, slow strokes. A few moments later, I unfastened his pants and reached inside, needing skin to skin contact.

“Mmm. Feels so good Lucien. But we shouldn’t. Not out here.”

“You’re forgetting something, baby. I can do anything I want.”

Peter started to protest again, but I tightened my grip, and his words turned into a groan. That sound was nearly enough to make me come. I loved how fucking responsive he was, whether he was getting a hand job or steadying himself to take another stroke from my belt.

I released him and sat back. “Turn over on your hands and knees.”

“What?” Peter’s eyes were wide, his cheeks deeply pink. He looked so damn fuckable.

“I said get on your hands and knees. I shouldn’t have to tell you twice. “

  “But we’re…”

“If you can’t obey, you won’t get to come.”

He scrambled into position. I’d known my threat would work.

“If I want to bare your ass and fuck you right here, then I will goddamn well do it, and I don’t care who sees.” I yanked his pants down and unfastened my own as quickly as I could. As soon as I’d slicked myself up using the packet of lube I’d taken to carrying at all times, I drove inside him.

I wanted to take things slower, to tease him and toy with him, but this wasn’t the place for that. This fuck needed to be fast, rough, and dirty, so that’s what I gave him. After we’d both come, I used a napkin to clean us up. When we were fully dressed again, I pulled Peter onto my lap and cupped his face in my hands. “Despite having to feed a horse, this has been the best day I can remember.”

He grinned. “Then let’s have more days like this.”

“We will, baby. We’ll have days like this for the rest of our lives.”

“You really think you’re never going to get tired of me?”

“Tired of you? Not even a chance. And believe me there are still so many things, new things, I want to try with you.”

His eyes lit up. “Are you ready to go home? Maybe we could try some of them tonight.”

“You’re insatiable. That’s one of my favorite things about you.”

Peter laughed, and I hugged him tight, taking a moment to be thankful he’d come into my life and brought the sunshine with him.
