Epilogue
The morning after Christmas, Dolly and Bryce took a cab to the airport. He was back in the Pet Taxi, and Dolly kept looking at her ring. He was glad she was happy.
The flight back to Kansas was uneventful, stuffy, and he was alone. He guessed no other pets were traveling today, which was fine with him. The landing was a little rough since they didn’t strap his carrier down all the way, so he flopped around a bit as the Pet Taxi bounced with the touchdown.
His little heart fluttered when he caught sight of Dolly waiting at baggage claim. She gently picked him and their suitcase up off the conveyor belt and walked out to the parking lot. She found a secluded spot around a corner of the building to let him out, and he shifted and dressed quickly. “Where’s BD?” Bryce took the suitcase from her.
Dolly picked up the carrier and walked a little ways through the parking garage before she answered. “BD left a voicemail saying that his lover came home, so he left the Navigator for us.”
“Are you kidding me? I just got out of a cage!”
