Just when Tobias had her all relaxed, he leaned in to kiss her, someone knocked on the door and came inside. Tobias had looked up at the person who had come in. “Ah. Torbin. Come on in. Is it time for us to announce Zara to the people?” Zara stood up straighter and looked at Tobias. “What did you just say?” Tobias chuckled, Torbin and Tobias both chuckled. Zara looked over at Torbin. He was tall like Tobias, lean like him too. He had sandy blond hair and ocean blue eyes. He had a strong jawline and sharp features. Zara noticed that his shoulders were not as broad as Tobias’, but his arms were just as defined. Torbin was carrying a powder blue dress. Zara noticed it was in the same style she had seen the women from the city wear. “As my mate, I must announce you to my people.” Torbin walked over to the bed and laid out the dress.

“Good evening, Queen Zara. Tobias had mentioned that you would need a dress while you were in his closet.” Tobias laughed. “I went to the market and one of our fabric merchants said that this one would be perfect for you.”

“Thank you, Torbin. I love the color. Please tell her that I will pay for it as soon as I am done being announced to everyone.” Zara glared at Tobias as she said the final part of her sentence.

“It is already covered, your highness.”

“I am not your queen or your highness yet, Torbin. You do not have to call me that.”

“You bear the mate mark on your finger. Here, that means you are already our Queen.” He bowed his head and left the room.

“Is he always like that?” She asked.

“No, actually. I think he is afraid of you. He barely bows to me.” Tobias laughed quietly.

“You think he’s afraid of me?”

“He usually isn’t that short with people and then he quickly left. I think he is.”

  “Am I that scary?”

“Well, you do not realize it, but your dominance and power radiate off of you. Pair that with the fact that you have multiple knives strapped to those amazing legs of yours, I would be afraid too.”

Zara looked down at herself and back at him. “Fair enough. But just so you know, these knives will still be strapped to me. Under the dress off course.”

“Off course. would not have it any other way.” He said as he slapped her ass and walked toward the bathroom. “I am going to clean up. Please, put on the dress. Our people are waiting to meet you.”

Zara put on the dress and walked into the walk-in closet. There was a full body length mirror in there. All of Tobias’s clothes were on the left side and there was nothing on the right. She realized it was so his partner would be able to put her clothes there. Now she itched to bring Lucus over to this realm and go shopping to fill all the empty space. Zara then looked in the mirror and noticed how different she looked. The dress fit her perfectly, you could not tell her knives were underneath. The straps on her shoulders were three inches thick and plunged into a “v” just before her breasts. Her necklace sat above the “v” in the dress. The fabric looked twisted around her waist and it accentuated her figure. She smiled at herself. Maybe I can do this.

Tobias appeared behind her and smiled. He snapped a bracelet around her wrist. It was a mixture of teals, light blues, and sapphire stones. It matched perfectly with her blue dress and the whole get up brought out her blue eyes. “Well, my Luna. Are you ready?” She nodded and turned to him. “Let’s go before I lose my nerve.”

He led her down the hall and back down the stairs. They went through the same door that they had walked in. People were everywhere, throughout the entrance to the castle grounds and even across the bridge. Most people clapped and hollered with glee. Others scowled in her direction. Tobias held up his hand and a hush settled over the people.

“Wonderful people of Elementia. I am proud to present my soulmate, Zara Wolfsbane.” The crowd went wild, hollering joyously. Zara gave the brightest smile she could give. This feeling felt incredible to her and it easily brought the smile to her face. One man out of the crowd moved closer. He was wearing a moss green cloth like Tobias’ and he reminded her of Xander. This man looked like a mountain. The guards that Zara did not even notice moved, stepping in front of her and Tobias.

“Do you expect us all to accept a hybrid as our future queen? Not just any hybrid, but the one who is prophesied to dethrone the Werewolf King! She will bring destruction to this realm!” Zara heard a few people agreeing with the man.

“I expect you to trust your King. She is not just anyone. He's my soulmate.”

  “Prove it.”

Tobias became angry at the man challenging him. She felt the air change as his power emerged. Zara put a hand on his shoulder. “Let me handle this.” Zara stepped forward. Tobias went to reach for her, but she shrugged him off. She straightened and stood tall as she continued to step forward until she was just a few feet away from the man who did not accept her. It was time to accept herself for who she was and show the world that she had a place as royalty. She had to show this realm that she deserved to stand next to Tobias now or they would never accept her as their queen. She reached into herself and called her magic and wolf to her. They obeyed immediately. Her aura surged around her as her pearl colored magic wrapped around her. It danced around her like flames. She knew her eyes were shining her wolf’s blue and had silver within the irises. Zara lifted her hands and her magic swarmed in her palms. The wind around her picked up and circled around her. The ground underneath her lifted her up as if she was on a pedestal. The water under the bridge rose and became a wall against the bridge and inside the moat. Fire interweaved with the magic in her palms.

“I am Zara Wolfsbane. I am an Alpha Wolf to the Werewolf Ream. I am the soulmate to your Elemental King. I wield the power of the witch and now the power of the four elements. I bring the protection of the wolves and the Lunar Coven for I am also the niece of the High Priestess. You may not accept the pairing of me and your king, but that will not stop our ceremony. I will be your Queen.” As she spoke her wolf’s voice overlapped her own.

Everyone, including the man before her, kneeled, or bowed. Tobias stepped up to her side. She looked up at him and there was nothing but pride shining in his eyes as he smiled at her. “Well, my Luna. Looks like you showed our people who you are.”

Look at that. Maybe I am cut out to be royalty.

  Chapter Twenty-Four: Atara

Atara could not wait until Zara returned from the Elemental Realm so she could tell her everything. Her sister had been gone for two days and she could not believe how much she missed her presence. It was still weird for her to think about the fact that she had a sister, a family. While Zara was away, Xander and Raven put her through a boot camp of training. Today was her off day, but as much as she wanted to rest, she wanted to see Zara more.

She was meditating in the front yard, something that Raven demanded that she practice more and more now that her magic was ascending. It was almost as if her magic had to match Zara’s. Atara now wore the same pendant as Zara, except hers was around her wrist as a bracelet. She touched the pendant and thought of spending time with Lucus. He had taken her throughout town to all his and Zara’s favorite shops. The ice cream she had at their favorite parlor was the most delicious ice cream she had ever had. Lucus also took her to clothing stores and got her some new clothes. As she spent time with him, she knew why he was Zara’s best friend. He genuinely cared about what you had to say, listened to the details, and just knew how to brighten your day. Atara felt like it was his Empath ability, but also more.

A shimmer in the air caught her eye. She looked to her left and watched her sister walk into existence as if she had portaled her way from the Elemental Realm. She was dressed in a purple version of what Tobias tended to wear, except that it was a dress and it suited her.

“Holy shit! Where’d you just come from? How did you do that!” Atara exclaimed.

Zara laughed. “While I was away, Tobias trained me with elemental magic. They can do all sorts of nifty things with their magic. Like what you just saw. I
basically traveled through the air! I can use air as a cloak to make me invisible too.”

“I see you have traded in your tank top and black pants for the Elemental wear.”

“You will not believe how comfy these things are! Not to mention, I have my knives all hidden under this thing and you would not even know it.” She lifted her skirt and her knives were on full display.

“Comfy and practical for a warrior. They know where it's at.”

Zara laughed out loud. Atara noticed the air around Zara had changed, yet again. She was more confident now. Atara could feel her power as a wolf. She could feel her magic too. Her scent was changing from just wolf and mint to wolf, mint, magic, and elements like Tobias. If Atara had not matched Zara’s dominance and power as a wolf, she would want to bare her neck to her. Zara’s presence was becoming one that demanded respect, and in Atara’s opinion, it looked good on her. She was becoming what their people needed. Atara was working hard on matching Zara’s progress. Raven was already pleased with her control over her magic and her wolf’s power was just like Zara’s. Once she reached Zara’s level of magic, they would be unstoppable in their quest to dethrone Cyrus and claim the throne for themselves.

  “So, when is the ceremony?”

  “In two days.”

“Wow. I am surprised Tobias let you out of the realm without him. should not he be all protective and brooding to the point you question becoming his mate for life by now?”

That got a chuckle out of Zara. “He isn’t a wolf. Otherwise, that probably would be happening.”

“He isn’t being an overbearing ass?”

“No. He is being supportive and letting me be my own person.”

  “Well...damn...I want one.”

They both laughed. It felt good to laugh. The pressure of the prophecy was beginning to weigh on her. Especially since it was the man who she saw as a father they had to defeat. Xander came out of the house. The girls turned to face him, and he smiled. “Well, my troublesome daughter has returned.” Zara put her hand over her heart and feigned like she was in pain. “Xander, why must you say these things? Why must you hurt me this way?” Xander’s smile grew bigger as he held out his arms to her. Zara ran to him and he wrapped her up in a bear hug. He put her down and motioned for them to come inside, “how was the Elemental Realm?” Zara went in after him and Atara followed. “DO NOT THINK YOU ARE LEAVING ME OUT HERE! I WANT ALL THE DETAILS!”

Xander, Sophia and the girls sat down at the dining room table. Zara talked about how the Elemental Realm looked as though the saturation level with color was turned on high, there were plants and flowers that they did not have here, and how beautiful Tobias’s castle looked. Then she went into how there were stands on the street that sold anything and everything that you could think of as food, spices, fabrics and even things for spell work. When she thought they would be settling in for the night, Tobias had her change into the realm’s clothing and presented her to his people. Zara thought it would have been terrifying, but it was not as bad as she thought it would be. There was one person there who voiced that he did not like their pairing. Atara feared that Zara lost control as she described how he voiced his opinion, but instead she told them how she stood her ground and showed off her power. She told them she would use her power to protect them, to protect both realms. The people kneeled or bowed.

Atara was amazed at how natural it came to Zara. She wondered how they would both rule the wolves when the prophecy was over? Would it be side by side? Or would it be Zara as the Alpha and her as the Enforcer? This was something she would need to discuss with Zara.

“So, what’s next? You said the ceremony was in two days.” Sophia asked.

“I am to prepare for the ceremony. Tobias told me I need to find a dress. I am not to wear any shoes. I am also to present him with a gift.”

“Is this a part of their traditional ceremony?” Sophia questioned.

  “Yes.”

“Well, girls. Let’s go have some fun.”

Sophia led the girls downtown. They went through every store that the town had to offer. Zara found fabric that she loved after turning down every dress in every store. Sophia told her that she could create her dress for her but would need Raven’s help. As if Raven felt her ears burning, she popped in next to Atara. “Dear Goddess woman! Must you always do that?” Raven flashed her a smile as if that were enough of an answer. “Why was I not told that you were out buying Zara’s ceremonial dress?” Sophia was on the other side of the store and was walking back over to them. “How am I supposed to call you? You have no phone.” Raven sighed annoyingly at Sophia. “Zara could have used her magic to summon me.” Zara looked at Raven as if her ears were pointed straight up in her wolf form. “I can? Since when? Did you teach me that?” Raven shook her head and let out an exasperated sigh. Sophia giggled at her. “Well, where is the dress?” Zara looked off to the side as if she had to think about it. Atara held back a laugh. “Why are you toying with me? Must I hex you to show your own aunt your ceremonial dress?” Just then Atara heard loud footsteps running toward them. The store’s door flew open and everyone turned towards it. Lucus was panting and looking like he was going to kill someone.

“Why was I left out of this little pow wow? I am the gay best friend! I should be notified that we are looking for Zara’s ceremonial dress!”

Zara doubled over laughing. “It happened so fast! I am sorry!”

“No! No apologies will be accepted. This is unacceptable. You are not to buy anything without my approval!”

All the women at the store were smiling or giggling. Lucus had told her that all of shops in town knew he was gay and loved him. Atara was surprised to find out that the pack did not know that he was gay and encouraged him to tell them. He told her that she sounded like her sister and he was not ready. When he was ready, he planned on telling Xander first. Atara was quite sure that the pack knew and was just waiting for him to tell them.

Zara told Lucus that they were going to purchase fabric and make the dress because she could not find one that she liked. He approved the idea and rushed Sophia to the counter. After they purchased the fabric, Raven portaled them home so they could get to work on the dress. Lucus and Zara were in a corner of her room with Raven discussing the idea for the dress. Atara had gone downstairs with Sophia to help with dinner. A flash of pearl color magic popped in front of Sophia and Atara’s faces that read “come upstairs”. “I guess that’s what Raven was talking about with sending messages with magic.” They rushed upstairs. Zara was standing in the middle of the room. “You ready?” Everyone nodded. Raven then wiggled her fingers and the fabric spun around Zara and began to knit itself into a dress.

Within minutes, Zara’s ceremonial dress came together. Zara was breathtaking. The dress was made from white cloth. The top was like the traditional clothes that Zara had worn when she came back. Then it fanned out with designs of the elements stitched in the tulle. The tulle had strips of color that were red, yellow, green, and blue. She looked like a queen. Sophia, Raven and Lucus looked stunned at her beauty.

Atara walked up to her with tears in her eyes. “You look beautiful, sis.” Zara beamed at her. “But you are missing something.” Zara tilted her head slightly. Atara walked behind her, took out a necklace she had bought Zara when she was not looking and clasped it around her neck. It was a white gold chain with a crescent moon caged pendant with moonstones held within the pendant. Zara was looking at herself in the mirror located on the wall. She took in the image of herself, put her hand over the pendant. Atara stood beside her sister and lifted the same pendant but in obsidian out from under her shirt. “I had the same one made. I also took your other necklace with Raven’s help and made it into a bracelet, just like mine.” Zara noticed that her necklace was missing and Atara grabbed her wrist and put the bracelet on it. “How did you-” Raven spoke up. “Your magic was in check while I was here. No one was in danger. This was a surprise.”

  Zara threw her arm
s around Atara and held on tightly. Atara hugged her back. “Thank you for being my sister.” She whispered. “Thank you for being mine.” Atara whispered back. Atara stepped back and everyone else hugged Zara and whispered something to her. Atara did not listen so each person could have their moment. Werewolf hearing made that hard, but she focused on her new jewelry. She could not wait to watch her sister’s bonding ceremony. She is never attended one and heard that they were beautiful.

“Well… I am going to take a bath then go to bed. I can’t wait for all of you to come to the Elemental Realm and be a part of our ceremony.” Zara walked out the room and into the bathroom.

“Our girl is going to be a queen.” Lucus said.

Yes, she is and a damn powerful one at that. I cannot wait to see it.

  Chapter Twenty-Five: Zara

Today was the day. Today was the bonding ceremony. Zara was in her room pacing back and forth in wolf form. Her room at the castle until she and Tobias were officially bonded. Which was today. She woke up when the sun rose. The ceremony was set to happen at sunset. She was not allowed to see Tobias until the ceremony began. Much like the human tradition. She tried walking the castle grounds, but Torbin told her that the king must not see her and rushed her back to her room. At one point, she growled at him, which he did not appreciate. That is when she shifted and tried to rest.

This is not working, she thought.

She heard her wolf giggle. Little one, why are you so nervous?

Zara laid down with her face between her paws and closed her eyes. What if I screw up part of the ceremony? What if Tobias has second thoughts and does not show up? I would be devastated!

Her wolf’s eyes met hers while her eyes were still closed. I doubt he would reject the bond after he announced to his people who you are to him.

You do not know that. He could be listening to those who do not approve and decide that his people need an Elemental as their queen.
