Thomas stared at me and the tears finally trickled from my eyes. It felt cathartic to be completely honest with him. He moved closer to me and put a thumb up to my face, wiping the tears from my cheeks.
“I don’t want your body. I don’t want Angel. I want you, Sabrina.”
I closed my eyes and squeezed more tears out. Thomas brought his face close to mine. His lips fell upon me and I felt a wave of emotion wash over me. I wrapped my arms around him as tight as I could, mimicking my eyelids. I couldn’t hold him tight enough. Thomas wrapped me in his embrace and my feet hovered above the ground. My entire face wet, I struggled to hold myself against him.
He finally pulled away from me and I looked into his eyes. I didn’t care if this was some elaborate scheme to get me to fall in love with him. I didn’t care if he had planned all of this. Tricks or not, I couldn’t deny what I was feeling. My heart told me that Thomas was the man I wanted him to be.
“I don’t care about any of this,” I whispered. “Don’t throw it all away just for me.”
I kissed him again. Thomas released me from his grip and turned his attention back to the papers on his desk. He stared down at the table for a few seconds and let out a deep sigh.
“I’ll call Anthony and let him know that I’ve changed my mind.”
I did the same as Thomas, breathing a sigh of relief. I was happy. Finally accepting all of the feelings I had, there was nothing left to hold me back.
Chapter 23
William winked at me as I made my way into Thomas’s limo. Thomas took my hand into his and held it as we were taken back into the city. I had nothing else to hide. And because of that, I finally felt comfortable in inviting him to the place I lived for all of these years.
When we got to my apartment, I was just as embarrassed about the mess I had laying around as how cramped it was.
“This is it.”
“This is where you live?”
“Yeah. It’s not much but—”
“I remember when I used to live in a place just like this. It was before I met Anthony. I put my desk right next to the window. I remember how I would do all of my work, writing down all of my ideas and going through lines of code on my computer. I would look out the window and hope that one day I would finally get to live in one of the skyscrapers in the distance.”
“And now you have that.”
“And now I have that… But it turns out it’s not all it’s cracked up to be.”
I watched Thomas as he slowly made his way around my living room. He seemed fascinated with my old, beat-up furniture. He ran his hands along my couch and looked up at the cracks beginning to appear in the corners of my walls.
“Yeah, this place brings back a lot of memories,” he sighed.
“It’s… home.”
“Home. Maybe we should move in here.”
“Yeah, that would be a lot of fun. Just leave your suite and move into an apartment that’s half the size.”
I started to laugh but Thomas gave me a look that told me was serious.
“Tell me you’re kidding,” I laughed at him.
“What’s the matter? Are you already so accustomed to the luxuries of a penthouse suite?”
“You know that doesn’t matter to me.”
“Good. Then you won’t mind if I move in here.”
“What?”
I started to laugh incredulously at him but Thomas persisted.
“I don’t think there’s enough room in here for two people,” I said to him.
“Then you’ll just have to make room for me. Don’t worry. I’ll pay my share of the rent.”
“You can buy the entire building if you wanted to.”
“I’d prefer not to throw money away.”
I couldn’t help giggling at him again. I moved closer to him as we stood inside of my cramped apartment. He leaned in close to kiss me and I forgot about how much I dreaded living in this place.
“If you live here, how will you attend your meetings?”
“I have a suite in every hotel in the city. I can get around. What’s one more place?”
“I can’t imagine any of your meetings are in this area.”
“They didn’t use to be... But now my most important meetings are here.”
I laughed into his mouth as he wrapped his arms around me.
“I’ll tell William to bring some of my clothes here,” he said. “You’re going to have to make some room for my things in your closet.”
“You’re really serious about living here, aren’t you?”
“I don’t care where we live. Just as long as you’re here with me.”
“If that’s the case, I should show you around…”
I gave him a seductive smile. I had done it so many times before. But the look I gave him now was genuine.
I took his hand and led him into the bedroom. When I turned around, he didn’t waste any time. Thomas pounced on me and we were quickly tangled in an erotic mess. We tugged at one another’s outfits. The arousal burning inside of me was met with frustration as I peeled through each layer of his suit. We managed to strip each other naked. I looked at the perfect definition of his body. Slowly, I put a hand up and felt him. It had been so long. It felt like an eternity. And just feeling his flesh underneath my fingers forced a wave of emotions to wash over me.
He leaned in close to me and kissed me on the cheek. His lips trailed up the side of my face and he whispered into my ear.
“I’ve never done this before.”
I pulled my face away from his and looked into his eyes.
“I’ve had sex with more women than I’d care to think about. It was all just some fleeting pleasure to try and fill some gap in my chest. But I’ve never…”
“Thomas… Make love to me…”
I brought him close to me and together, we shared a passionate kiss unlike any other we ever had before. I fell backwards onto the bed with Thomas on top of me. He was already hard and I was ready for him. With my legs spread, Thomas positioned himself between me and looked down into my eyes. I nodded to him to give him the approval he had been seeking. It was ridiculous. I had slept with so many men. This was the first time one of them actually took my feelings into account. I guess that’s why this was the first time I wanted my client just as much as he wanted me. But he wasn’t a client anymore. He was just Thomas, the man I was in love with.
His cock pushed into my entrance. It forced my eyes closed and tilted my head back. I reached up with both arms and wrapped them around his neck. I pulled him in closer to me as he started to grind against me. He buried himself to the hilt, filling me up completely. The base of his cock rubbed against my clitoris and provided me with even more stimulation.
I ran my hands along the hard muscles of his back as he continued to work hard. My hands trailed down the sides of his arms. Every inch of him was hard as a rock. He laid on top of me, working hard to try and please me. His body was already covered in a thin layer of sweat and I found myself wanting him even more.
With my arms and legs wrapped around him, I embraced him completely and rolled him over onto his back. I opened my eyes and looked down upon his smiling face. Then I placed my hands upon his chest and pushed myself up. Thomas was underneath me and I rode him underneath the dim lights of my bedroom.
Thomas’s chest was hard and difficult to get a hold of. But he impaled me completely and that alone was enough for me to hold myself up.
I rode him in a slow, controlled motion. I didn’t rush myself to an orgasm so that I could get it over with. I wanted to enjoy every second of it. I could be with Thomas like this forever. And when I looked down into his eyes, I knew that he felt the same way. It didn’t matter to me how much money he had. What I knew was how he treated me. He was the man that I had fallen in love with. And that’s what made the sex at this moment so much different from anything else.
I couldn’t take it any longer. The feeling of his length inside of me stoked the flames that were burn
ing within. I could feel myself teetering on the edge of ecstasy. I looked down into his eyes. He started to nod. We didn’t need to exchange any words. Both of us knew that the other was close.
Just as I was about to climax, I started to ride him vigorously. I bounced up and down on his full length, trying to return the pleasure that he was giving me. His hips started to jerk up and off of the bed. We bounced off of one another, the loud sound of our skin slapping filling my small room.
And just like that, he pushed me into the climax I was trying to hold off. Thomas grunted and did the same. Together, we shared an orgasm. My body convulsed on top of him while he released slow and steady pulses inside of me. I tightened around him, milking him for everything he was worth. When it finally ended, I collapsed on top of him, my head falling upon his chest. I could feel him still inside of me, the warmth emanating through my body.
I was content. I sighed as I rested on top of him, trying to catch my breath. Thomas wrapped his arms around me and together we laid there in silence. He didn’t say anything. Neither did I. We were both happy and that’s all that mattered in the end.
Chapter 24
I was wearing a red dress tonight. It wasn’t anything special. It stood out from all of the other outfits but for all of the wrong reasons. While the other women were dressed in glamorous and extravagant gowns, my dress was something I had managed to grab off of one of the racks in the thrift shop just across the street from my apartment.
“May I have this dance?”
I turned to the old man in dressed in the suit who had suddenly appeared next to me. I smiled at him then politely nodded. Taking his hand, I followed him out onto the dance floor. He wrapped one arm around me as I followed his lead.
I had a little trouble telling what he wanted me to do and where he wanted me to go. His grip wasn’t as firm as it could have been but I didn’t hold it against him. It was enough for me to know where to go and at this point, I knew exactly what he wanted me to do. I had a lot of practice with men like him.
The song finally came to an end and he bowed his head to me.
“You move gracefully,” he said to me.
“Thank you.”
“What is your name?”
“Sabrina.”
“Ah, Sabrina. I’ve heard a lot about you.”
“You have?”
“If I’m not mistaken…”
We were on the edge of the dance floor. He turned his head to the side and we both watched as a handsome man in a black suit approached the both of us.
“Speak of the devil,” the old man said. “Mr. Livingston, you are a very lucky man.”
Thomas turned and looked at me.
“I know,” he said, his eyes locked upon me.
“I’ll leave you be,” the old man said, graciously bowing his head once again before leaving me alone with Thomas.
We stared at one another for a second. I was unable to fight the growing grin on my face as he offered his hand to me. Thomas led me back out onto the dance floor and together we danced to the next song.
“You know you don’t have to dance with men like him if you don’t want to,” Thomas explained.
“I know. But maybe I wouldn’t dance with them if you were with me.”
“Right, right. I apologize. I should be there for you more often.”
“Oh, you’re there often enough. But you shouldn’t complain when some other man catches my eye. Be careful, Thomas. I might go running off.”
I gave him a wicked grin before we both chuckled with one another. Ever since Thomas and I became serious, he changed. He stopped working as hard as he did. I didn’t care about his money even though it was certainly nice to have. But Thomas finally started to enjoy it. He didn’t care about increasing the size of his pile. He only worried about me. All he wanted was to be content.
“Are Anthony and Alina here?” I asked him.
“They’ll be here shortly,” Thomas said to me. “Why are you asking?”
“I’m just curious. I mean, you don’t want to spend all of your time with me at this gala now, do you?”
“Oh, I do, Ms. Kerr. I do.”
“And why is that exactly?”
I looked at Thomas as his eyes rolled back into the top of his head. I could see him racking his brain as he searched for the right answer. It didn’t matter what he said but I was still curious as to what he would say.
“Because I love you, Sabrina.”
I started to blush. I even missed the step Thomas was trying to lead me through. He started to laugh at me before I finally regained my composure.
“I might ask you the same thing,” he said. “What is it about me?”
“The money,” I stated bluntly.
Thomas stared back at me before we both started to burst into laughter.
“Or maybe it’s because you treat me like a person,” I said. “You see that I’m more than just an object of someone’s desire. It’s not a physical thing…”
“But it is physical.”
“Oh?”
“I couldn’t be with you if you were a terrible dancer. Why do you think I pay Marcus so much?”
He smiled at me and I nodded my head, finally getting the joke. My dancing lessons didn’t stop as soon as my contract ended. It was the one thing Thomas and I shared. It was the one thing both of us enjoyed.
Nothing else mattered. The other people disappeared. The lights started to dim. Even the sound of the music seemed to grow quiet. All I cared about was being with Thomas. I just wanted to be in his arms forever.
This is what I had been searching for. I sold my body to the highest bidder but Thomas had the highest bid of all. But he didn’t pay me with dollars or money. He gave me himself. And in exchange, I gave him me. Our search for someone had ended. We found one another. We were no longer nobody’s.
