I grinded the wetness dripping out of me against his hard stomach. His rigid abs were enough to stimulate my clit to the verge of orgasm if I needed to. It was hard not to lose control right then and there, just riding him while I had my way with him. His thick cock was just a few inches away from me though.

I lowered my hips down, pushing my ass toward his length. A few more inches and his tip hit my folds. I gasped into his mouth again as I slowly let him move inside of me.

  “I wanna ride you…”

  “Ride me then…”

My hands moved up his muscular forearms and our fingers tangled together. He effortlessly pushed me up until I was squatting on top of him. My knees resting on his sides, I stayed in my position and enjoyed the feeling of his cock stretching me out.

The view wasn’t too bad. His whole body on display, I examined the ink that trailed along the cuts of his muscles. He was perfectly sculpted, to those washboard abs to those shoulders I put my hands on all the time when we danced.

His face might’ve been more appealing to me than anything. His beard was thick but groomed perfectly. Dark blond hair slicked back over his head. No expression on his face except an unblinking, focused stare.

His jaw clenched as I shifted my hips. I couldn’t help but sigh from how much he filled me up.

  “Yeah… I wanna ride you.”

I gripped his hands tight as I started rotating my hips. Up and down, I bounced myself on his hilt gently, letting his length rub against my wet walls. And I was soaking to the point that I could hear it. There was nothing quite like the sound of wet flesh slapping together. I liked it more than I thought I did, bouncing up and down on him with growing fervor.

My eyelids flickered but I forced them open so I could look down at him. I wanted to see the man I was riding. I wanted to see who was filling me up. I wanted to see why I felt so good.

  “Ashton…”

My jaw dropped as the pleasure began to burn in my stomach. I rotated my hips at the right pace. His cock hit just the right spot inside of me. My clit swelled and rubbed against his hilt. I moved at the perfect rhythm to stimulate every inch of my body.

My hair started to fall over my face, covering the sweat dripping from my brow. My back arched and made my bouncing breasts heave forward. Every muscle in my body tightened up from my curling toes to my gritted teeth.

  “Mmm…”

I tried to yell his name but all that came out was a stifled groan. I couldn’t take it. I shut my eyes tight and pushed myself toward my inevitable end. My orgasm was in sight and nothing could stop me from getting to it.

I bounced on top of him relentlessly until finding my climax. I came hard on top of him, convulsing in an unsteady, unflattering rhythm. The wonderful pulses of my orgasm surged through me over and over. I got back up only just to get knocked back down again.

  “Rose…”

His hands squeezed around mine. My whole body was already throbbing but his cock stretched me out even more as he came. Thick spurts of his seed spraying against my walls were just as wonderful as my own orgasm. I tightened around him, enjoying the sensations of his cock pulsing inside of me. Ashton was the only man who satisfied me in such a way that I wanted every drop of him inside of me.

I stayed on top of him for as long as I could. The pleasure of my climax tingled in my body and over my skin. I collapsed, resting my head on the pillow next to him. I was completely drained with only enough strength to breath. He eventually rolled me over onto my back, kissing me deeply to seal our moment together. But he was still here with me and he wasn’t going anywhere. Neither was I.

He looked down at me, kindness in those deep blue eyes of his despite his intensity. “How are you?”

It’d been a week since everything ended. Things were normal now. It felt strange to think that things would ever be normal again. “I’m fine,” I sighed. “Just… fine.”

  “You miss him?”

“I’ll always miss Joey. He’s been a part of my life for my entire life.”

“Just because he’s not here doesn’t mean he’s not here.” He ran a hand over my chest, right where my heart was. “I never had any siblings. I won’t pretend I know what you’re going through.”

“You don’t have any siblings but you have a brother. Grant’s been there with you since the beginning, hasn’t he?”

“Yeah… Yeah, he has. I guess I’d be pretty bummed out if I had to say goodbye to him.”

“Joey and I might’ve grown up together but it’s just like he said. He was never meant to live in Ivory. A small town like this… It could never keep him in place.”

“And what about you? Ivory enough to keep you happy?”

I wrapped my arms around his neck and brought him in close for a kiss before looking into his eyes. “I have everything I need to keep me happy right here.”

  Chapter 25

  ASHTON

It was hard to tell what part of Sheriff Sutton stuck out more. The belly that hung over his belt. His bald, liver-spotted head. That droopy face of his like his skin was trying to run away from him. Or maybe it was the shiny badge he wore so proudly on his chest.

As old and tired as he looked, Sutton didn’t carry himself like a man who was on the verge of retirement. He was on the other side of the law but I respected him for doing his job.

Of course, that didn’t mean I was ever too excited about seeing him in the clubhouse. Just another formality the MC had to go through.

“Word on the street is the Picardo Cartel is back in town,” he said. “I was around when they first got started in Ivory, all those years back. A new generation but they’re still pushing weight like they used to, I’d imagine.”

“If you were around back then, you’d know the cartel’s got a history with the Devils more than any other MC,” Jordan said.

“Oh, yeah. That was way back. Before any of you were here. Before you had your beef with the Reapers. I still remember it like it was yesterday.” The old sheriff had a look in his eyes like he was reminiscing. The man probably had enough stories to tell for months but he didn’t seem like the type to humor an MC with them.

“Any reason you came here? Club’s got no business with the cartel. Don’t plan on it either.”

“That’s good. Because if Picardo plans on making noise like they used to, they’re gonna get a lot of attention. Feds might’ve had their troubles with drugs but they’re not just gonna give up. An explosion gets loud enough, you’re gonna have to eventually try to do something about it.”

“You don’t have to worry about the Cobras. We know what happened with the feds. We’re not about to follow in the footsteps like Cunningham and those idiots. If a war starts, you know we ain’t got nothing to do with it.”

“If a war starts, I expect you to do your job and make sure not to mess with my town.” Sutton took a step toward Jordan. Even though he was shorter, Sutton acted like he was looking down at the bigger man.

“It’s our town, too,” Jordan said.

“Remember that.” Sutton backed away, giving every member of the MC a glance before finally leaving us alone.

A visit from the town sheriff was never a big deal but there was still a sense of relief from all of the patrons after he was gone.

It was a quiet afternoon in the Bone Pit. The few people here were on their breaks from work, just having a drink to get away from their boring lives. Rex was off to the side having a friendly conversation with Micah. Doc was sitting by himself at the end of the bar, going over some papers like every club treasurer did.

I sat at the other end of the bar by myself, Jordan standing right next to me.

  “You not with Smoke?”

“Figured I’d take a break for a day.”

“It’s not like you to take a break. Usually getting your hands dirty is a break.”

“It was like that before, yeah. Shit changed though.”

I stared out into the bar but could feel his eyes on me. I trusted Jord
an like a brother but he was still club president. It’d been more than a week since all the shit went down and we hadn’t talked about it. I was just waiting for the other shoe to drop.

  “She’s the one, huh?”

“Smoke used to fuck with me. Warned me about getting caught up because the pussy was so good. Words of wisdom he got from Teddy. And there was a time when I reminded myself all the time. Rose was the hottest, baddest broad I’d ever seen. You don’t see too many girls like her in this place.”

“Sweet girl like her, no, you don’t.”

“She’s the one though. I know it. It’s not because of how she feels when I’m inside her or how I know she’ll do anything for me. It’s just a feeling. When I look into her eyes, I see everything. I can’t explain it.”

I swallowed hard and looked at him.

“I’m sorry, brother. I’m sorry I didn’t tell you it was her brother that got involved with Picardo. I’m sorry I kept it from you for so long.”

“You kept it from me but you told Smoke. I don’t wanna imagine what it’s like being in your position. Stuck between the MC and the one. A president would’ve made you march that motherfucker right on Picardo’s doorstep—”

“Why didn’t you? I went behind your back and tried to handle this shit myself. Put Smoke at risk…”

Jordan put a hand on my shoulder and looked me right in the eye. “All I ask from you more than anything else is to be loyal to the patch. You did that. I would never sacrifice what makes you you.” He dug his finger into the name on my chest. “That’s what separates the Cobras from everyone else. You did what you had to do for your old lady. I respect that as a man. Don’t think for one second you ever disrespected the patch. You’ll always be my brother.”

I got up from my seat and squeezed my arms around him. I knew I didn’t have anything to worry about from Jordan but it was a relief to know there were no ill feelings left over from the incident.

“What do you think?” he asked. “You think Sutton’s got a point?”

“Picardo might be up to something but it ain’t got shit to do with us. He’s got bigger things to worry about. Everything’s cool, brother.”

“That’s what I like to hear. Where’s Rose at?”

  “She’s in the room… Resting.”

“Resting, huh?” He raised an eyebrow at me. I chuckled and nodded.

“Maybe I should go see how she’s doing. After everything we went through, I can’t think of anything better.”

  Epilogue 1

  ASHTON

  Two weeks later…

“There you go! As good as new!” I slapped the hood of the car then beamed at it like a newborn. In a sense, it was a newborn, considering how many changes it’d gone through.

Mrs. McFadden was skeptical though. The elderly woman had one eye closed has she circled around the car. She had every reason to be suspicious. The thing was as beat up as a car could get. Short of being on fire and exploding, it was a minor miracle I was able to get the thing running. As the smile slowly grew on her face, she came to the realization that even an asshole like me had to be telling her the truth.

“Is the same car?” she asked. “It looks a little different.”

“I threw in a wash and a polish for free. You know, a car can look a lot better if you just get rid of all the rust. I told you this car was a classic. Not too many Studebakers on the road these days. If you think it looks good, you should see how this baby runs.” I leaned into the car and started the engine.

Mrs. McFadden took a step back, her hand on her chest. “It doesn’t sound like what I brought into you. You didn’t change the engine, did you?”

“Didn’t change a thing. Cleaned it out and fixed it up. The process was a lot harder than just having the thing replaced but I had a good time doing it.”

“A good time. You don’t fool me for a second. You put a lot of hours into this. Don’t pretend like it was a grand old time getting underneath this hunk of junk.”

“I always tell people there isn’t any place I’d rather be than underneath the hood of a car. People think I’m crazy but that’s the truth. I’m one of the lucky ones who gets to do what he wants. Besides, I am being compensated. That’ll be 20 dollars.”

The older woman’s kind smile was as satisfying as anything. She reached into her purse and pulled out some money. “It’s a shame you’re doing this for so little money.”

“Don’t worry about me now. I’ve got plenty of money in my bank account.”

“Still… You deserve a little more compensation. I got something else for you.”

  “Mrs. McFadden… You don’t have to…”

She cut me off as she held out a plastic container. I narrowed my eyes at it and smiled.

“Peanut butter chocolate chip,” she said. “My personal recipe. You enjoy these.”

“If you’re gonna pay me in cookies, make sure you come back to me when anything goes wrong with this car.”

“Knowing this thing, it probably won’t be long.”

  “Let’s hope not.”

I opened the door for her and she got inside. It was nice to see the enthusiasm as she rolled her car out of the garage. I watched the old ride move down the street and join the rest of the traffic. It was a sunny day in Ivory, perfect for an afternoon drive.

I opened up the container and pulled a cookie out.

“I hope you don’t get used to that.” Grant had his head down as he tuned up a ride. “Word gets out we’re taking cookies for payment and we’ll be out of business. Or fat.”

I munched on the cookie and smacked my lips. “Mrs. McFadden is an exception. You see that smile on her face? You won’t get that anywhere else.”

“I’ll make an exception for her. Just don’t be too kind on these folks. Doc will be wondering what’s up with your dues when you pay him with something you got from the donut aisle.”

“A man like Doc will understand more than anybody else.” I leaned up against the workbench and helped myself to another cookie.

Grant dropped his wrench on the ground and stood up straight, muttering to himself.

  “What’s up?”

“He overgreased this lugnut. Thing’s tearing up my hands.”

“Get a towel and wipe it down.”

“I know, I know… Just wasn’t expecting it.” He moved over to the workbench and cleaned his hands off. I looked out into the streets while I ate in the silence of the garage. Grant had his eyes on me.

  “What is it?” I said.

  “Nothing.”

“Don’t gimme that shit. You’re staring at me for a reason and it’s got nothing to do with McFadden.”

He leaned up against the bench next to me and sighed. “It looks like your man Joey kept his word. Haven’t heard a peep from Picardo.”

“Just like he said… I don’t think we’ll be hearing from him any time soon.”

  “How’s Rose doing?”

“Perfect. She just got a job. Some lab up near Golden Hills. About as fancy as you can get in a shithole like Ivory.”

“No kidding? Good for her. I always figured a girl like her was something special.”

  “That’s an understatement. Rose is…”

“You don’t gotta say it, brother.” Grant put a hand on my shoulder and squeezed.

He’d been with me through everything. I could count on him even when I was at the bottom. He knew what I was thinking just by looking at me, so there was no point in saying anything. I could spend the rest of my life thanking him and it wouldn’t be enough.

“What do you think?” he said.

  “About what?”

“Picardo was a big job but it got us into a lot of shit. From here on out, nothing but honest work. Anything suspicious, we tell the motherfucker to go fuck himself.”

“If we can’t get by with honest work, then it just wasn’t meant to be. Shit, these cookies are better than anything Picardo could ever pay us.”

  I held the conta
iner up to him. He chuckled and nodded before taking a cookie. I watched as he chewed on it, the approval slowly appearing on his face.

“Damn… These are good. Maybe you should ask McFadden for the recipe so you can open up a shop. Get your car serviced and have a cookie while you wait. Sound like a good idea?”

I looked out into the streets and smiled. “From where I’m standing, everything sounds like a good idea.”

  Epilogue 2

  ROSE

I stared at the mirror and straightened out my dress. No matter how much I tugged on the hem, I still couldn’t quite get it to look right.

“It looked so much better in the store… I think they’ve got those special mirrors that make you look better.”

“A mirror is a mirror, sweetie.”

“A mirror is not a mirror. Otherwise, this dress wouldn’t look so different from it did when I tried it on.”

My mom put a hand on my shoulder and smiled at my reflection. “You look beautiful.”

  “What about my hair—”

“Your hair looks just as beautiful as it always does. He won’t be able to look away from you. I don’t know why you’re making such a big deal out of this. It’s just dinner.”

“I know. It’s just… This is your first time meeting him. I want everything to be perfect.”

  “Do you love him, Rose?”

  “…What?” I raised an eyebrow.

  “Do you love him?”

  “…I do.”

“Then everything already is perfect.” She leaned forward and kissed me on the cheek. She always knew exactly what to say to calm me down but never ceased to amaze me. “You should probably go out there before your father scares him away. I’ll go get dinner ready.”

My mother headed into the kitchen while I looked out the window. Ashton leaned against the low fence while he watched my father feed everything in the small coop off to the side. I took a deep breath before heading out to join him.

The sun was just about to go down. The sky was a beautiful auburn without a cloud to block the beautiful view. The weather was warm. A cool breeze against my skin made me shudder slightly but not enough to regret the dress I wore.
