Chad knew the difference between pleasure and business. Even though Merry had a tendency to blur them whenever they were together. The buzz at the show hadn’t missed his ears and he knew that getting in on the ground floor could be a win-win.
For Merry and the gang, it meant solid backing and capital to expand their line and increased profits. He also suggested a marketing merger with the Double Duet as an accessory for gamers.
Both companies could haul in some big money from that one, since after its launch, it had rapidly become the next big toy for geeks and it needed to keep the momentum moving with whatever ideas came down the pike. Chad was a smart business man and knew that little “baby” was making him a lot of money. He also knew where the credit belonged, and that they deserved their share.
As for the developers—where are they now?
Kat found intergalactic bliss with her warrior. She has upgraded her living to a nice house with a moat and her bedroom looks like a castle where she is, of course, the queen.
Stan developed another amazing Virtual Reality game — he’s presently battling evil forces on the outer rim of Io’s third moon. Now and again, he and Chad host get-togethers for “the guys” to geek out over action figures and movies. Stan’s new girlfriend was just highlighted on the cover of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue.
Deb refuses to let either of them forget she missed out on Vegas, and insists that she’ll be going to the next tech con, even if it’s in Minnesota in January. So long as she can leave the family at home for three whole days. She hired a nanny to give her more time to work remotely in her home office.
Chad and Merry have two different homes. They fly back and forth between California and Boston, where they both help each other keep an eye on their businesses. Their frequent flier miles are racking up and they are going to Aruba in the summer for a month together, with no phones, no internet, and little human contact. Just minimal clothing and lots of alcohol, along with several different kinds of restraints for make-up sex if they should happen to argue.
And Denise?
Still running the day-to-day operations of TechNow, but has announced she’s quietly formed an exploratory committee to test the waters of the upcoming election for State Senator. And after that, well nobody would be very surprised if she ends up in a certain large house on Pennsylvania Avenue…
It all goes to show that sometimes tech support can be a helluva lot more than just a voice on the phone…

The candlelight and single lamp were flattering, softening the planes of her cheeks and making her slender body look lusher than she knew it was. She wasn’t a big woman anywhere. Her breasts were adequate, but not eye-catching, and next to Mel she felt definitely feminine and almost petite. Of course, he’d never mentioned her breasts at all.
Never given so much as a hint that he might find her attractive physically. Which was quite correct, of course. He worked for her. There couldn’t be anything in the least bit sexual between them.
She couldn’t, for example, imagine his hands on her adequate breasts, or his mouth between her legs. Nope. That was not acceptable.
The fact that she’d done so, more than once, in moments of what she liked to refer to as private interludes of intimate pleasure with technology - well, nobody had to know.

Perhaps here, now, with a king-sized, satin-covered bed glowing in the shadows of the adjoining room and her thoughts revolving around naked bodies, sex and that self-same bed, Rose was super-focused on all things physical.
