“I’ve been here a couple weeks. I haven’t even unpacked.”

Charlotte to Atlanta certainly was just a plane flight away. “Good, ‘cause you’re all mine and by the way, you’re staying here tonight. And I am going to help you fix your window in the morning. I’ll lock up if you need to go to work before I’m finished.”

“I...” Genevieve looked down at the water, her lower lip twitching. “Look, I appreciate your offer for help, but I can take care of it. Okay?”

“Okay. I won’t push, but it’s going to get mighty boring if we’re relegated to staying in this house given our top-secret need.”

“Maybe we can go to a club at some point. Charlotte does have some amazing BDSM clubs in town.”

I suddenly remembered the girl outside the Red Door location. “Have you ever been to a club here in town?”

Her eyebrows furrowed, and she shook her head. “As I said, I’ve only been in town a couple weeks. I don’t know the lay of the land yet.”

“Hmmm... Well, maybe we can find one and go some day.” Why would she lie to me about this?

“However, if you’re bored already, I’m certain I can think of a few things to entice you. All. Over. Again.” Placing her wine in the drink holder, she eased back, running her hands up the insides of my legs. “I think you need to cool off. Don’t you?”

When one hand began to stroke my cock, the other toying with my balls, I knew exactly what she wanted. I sat on the edge of the hot tub, leaning back against the deck, watching her every move as she closed in. There was nothing I didn’t love about a woman sucking my cock, draining me of every ounce of cum.

Giving me a mischievous look, she issued a series of purring noises before crowding between my legs, lifting my cock to full extension. Her mouth was hotter than the hundred-and-two-degree water, her tongue slathering me with long licks. “Fuck. Yes.” Her eyes never left mine as she licked up and down the length of the shaft, taking her time, swirling the tip back and forth. She seemed hungry, even famished as she made purring sounds, mouthing my cock before moving to my balls.

Her hand rolled back and forth around the base of my cock as she sucked my testicles, taking one all the way into her mouth then the other. Even the friction she created with her hand was damn intense and within seconds, I had difficulty breathing.

“Sweet Jesus,” I muttered, my eyes rolling back into my head. The pain from the pressure of her mouth was intense, forcing my legs to quiver. I heard the slightest giggle when she finally released her hold on my swollen sac, targeting my shaft, her mouth sucking as she moved up inch by inch.

She was in a perfect position on her knees, the angle allowing her to take as much or as little as she desired. And damn, the woman was good, her jaw muscles clamping around me, the sucking noises filtering over the jets. I laid all the way down, allowing her to take over. As her lower lips hit my aching balls, my shaft firmly stuffed inside her mouth and the tip hitting the back of her throat, raw ecstasy took over.

I was cognizant her head was bobbing up and down, her hand pumping the base. “Fuck. Fuck!” I slapped my hand on the deck, every cell in my body bursting into flames. She continued, dragging me to the precipice of coming then backing off, repeating the move until my breathing was strangled. I struggled to ease the glass onto the deck. Even my fingers were vibrating.

Genevieve pushed my legs up and out of the water, holding me wide open, keeping her mouth surrounding my cock. I was done, my body rocketing into a state that I couldn’t back away from. I tossed my head back and forth, the animalistic growls surpassing any scream she’d made. As my balls shot cum into my shaft, I jerked up, filling her mouth and throat.

She remained where she was, sucking and swallowing.

My tense muscles were spent, and I fell back onto the deck, gasping for air. When air hit my cock, I couldn’t even move. She kept my knees wide open and almost instantly I felt her lithe fingers moving down the crack of my ass. As if by instinct, I slapped my hands on my knees, pulling them further, my body at a different angle.

The very tip of her tongue swirled around my asshole, darting just inside.

“Baby. That’s so good,” I managed, shocked how amazing this felt. No woman had ever licked my asshole. A hit of pressure and I sucked in my breath as her fingers also found my hole, sliding inside, pumping in and out. Together with her tongue, the perfect orchestration, I was thrown into sensations I’d never experienced. “Yeah...”

I had no idea how long the session lasted, but I was aware my legs were dangling in the water, my entire body sated. My eyes were mere slits and even with my inability to see clearly past the haze, I noticed the haunted look remaining on her face.

As if her demons would never give her peace.

  Chapter Seven

  Genevieve

I’m going to blister your bottom...

The last text had been thrilling, almost forcing me off the road. Three glorious days had passed and every night we’d been together, hiding in his house as if we were criminals. There were no additional suspicious fires, which had allowed me to make the required visits to the other firehouses. The welcome committee at each one had been a carbon copy of the ones before. The only good news was that it seemed my fifteen minutes of fame were up, the television stations moving onto their next victim.

Still, I had a terrible feeling something horrible was going to happen.

Shaking off the wretched feeling, I shifted my thoughts back to Blaise. He’d certainly become more dominating during these last few days. I smiled as I walked past the yellow tape, marking this as a crime scene, shifting into work mode.

The fire had been out in this particular building for a solid week, but the stench of bitter smoke, a mixture of chemicals and mildewed rotten wood filled my nostrils, making me gag. I doubled over, coughing several times in my attempt to catch my breath. The entire building was a total loss and in truth, should have been torn down already. Dangers were everywhere and even with the gated cage surrounding the parking lot, kids who were curious usually found a way inside. At least the destruction was just outside the city limits, in a non-residential area. In fact, the private road leading to the location would keep any gawkers or thrill seekers from locating the place.

This was arson, or so the reports from Ladder Company 24 had listed, signed off by Captain James Dillon. I was finally able to stand after a few seconds, my system getting used to the rancid smell. I wasn’t looking forward to spending any time with the captain’s crew, especially since the report I’d given on their firehouse. I certainly wouldn’t be welcomed with open arms.

I grabbed a pair of gloves as well as my flashlight, fighting back the nausea. I couldn’t help but feel I was way in over my head with this. I glanced at the report one last time before beginning my investigation, starting with the area of the hottest fire. The forensics of a fire was little different than that of any crime scene, except for the cause of the fire. This was the second in three manufacturing plant fires in two and a half months. That alone was suspicious.

I hadn’t made any connection yet. They manufactured different products, had completely different owners, and they were miles apart. The time spent at the office had been futile, creating frustration more than anything. Still, my gut was screaming overtime. I bagged and tagged at last count seventeen baggies, all sections of wood and other debris. Unlike practiced investigators, I’d need microscopes and my own chemicals to form a solid opinion on the reason for the fire.

I worked methodically for a solid three hours and in my mind, making little headway. My lungs were stinging, my eyes watering. I’d done about all I could do. Everything was so deathly quiet. There weren’t any creaking sounds or the rumbling of traffic; however, I couldn’t get over the eerie sensations, the way my skin crawled. There’d been one life lost, that of an employee. Usually, the bones of a building held clues. If only they would speak to me.

Grabbing a bottle of water, I heard the chirp of my phone. I po
sitioned the flashlight, leaving the beam directed at my things and yanked off one of my gloves, digging into my pocket. I knew who was texting me. He’d sent three previous ones, perhaps the highlight of my day.

  Until later.

Wear only a raincoat and heels. I hear it’s supposed to rain...

“Mmm...” The single sound stopped dead in the dense air. I had to admit, submitting to a firefighter was without a doubt the best decision I’d made—at least in the last few months.

  Yes, sir.

My answer was exactly as he expected. No, as he required. Hitting send, excitement surged through me. I only hoped our acting skills would be up to par. We’d certainly be faced with interactions again in the near future and we’d agreed that no one was going to find out. But I couldn’t wait to spend more time with him, sucking on his cock, licking up every drop of his cum, bending over his knees as he gave me one hard slap after another and—

  Ping!

I swung around in a complete circle, almost dropping my phone. I did manage to kick the light. Hearing the thumping sound as the metal rolled over concrete, heading into the darkness created a moment of suffocation, my throat constricting. My legs were slightly wobbly as I jogged to grab the light before it dislodged itself in a deep hole. The moment I snagged the base, I could swear I heard another sound. Footsteps. Oh, shit.

This time, I had to admit to myself that I was petrified.

“Why, Genevieve. I was told you’d be here.”

I shined the light in his face, sucking in my breath, trying to control my nerves. “Mayor Zane. What are you doing here?”

He shielded his face with his arm, ducking the light. “Well, came by your office to talk with you. Thought I’d stop out here and see how your work is progressing.”

The man actually made my skin crawl. I walked closer, taking my sweet time lowering the beam. “My work is progressing just fine. Collected evidence. Should know more about what caused this fire in a day or so.”

“Now, Genny, girl. We already know what caused this fire.”

I tilted my head, shifting the flashlight under my arm so I could yank off the second glove. “Why don’t you enlighten me as to the cause?”

“Somebody got careless, placing too many of the wrong kinds of chemicals together. Kaboom. That’s what happened.” He inched closer, too close in my opinion. “Your first function is getting the various departments straight. I gave you very clear directions when I hired you.”

Why did I have the feeling he wanted to say the word command? “What I was hired to do was to make certain that any suspicious fires are identified, allowing the criminal who created a life and property threatening fire to be found and prosecuted. I’m certain you as mayor want to provide a safe city.” I gave him my sweetest smile.

He gave me a slant of his eyes, the kind of nasty look reserved for what I would hope to be his enemies. “Genny—”

  “Genevieve or Investigator Gregory, Mayor.”

“Genevieve. Of course I want this city safe, protected from the monsters hell bent on destroying it, but you and I both know that there are real issues in at least two of the departments. That’s why I came to find you.”

  “What are you insinuating, Mayor?”

“I’d really prefer not to talk about it here.”

“There’s no one here but you and me.” I definitely wanted to see where this was going.

He thought about it and smiled again. “I have certain pieces of evidence that you’re going to want to see and as you can imagine, I didn’t bring them with me. This is important and very disturbing in truth.”

Of course he didn’t bring them. “That’s fine. I’ll swing by your office later.”

“Unfortunately, I’m in meetings the rest of the afternoon.” He rubbed his jaw. “What about dinner tonight? I know a little place about twenty miles outside of town. We could talk freely there.”

“I’m sorry, Mayor but I already have plans. Sometime tomorrow? Oh, wait, you have meetings all day tomorrow, important people to see. Well, in truth, so do I. Difficult week, as you might imagine.”

He laughed. “I heard. You certainly came in like a firestorm, dear girl, but I would have expected no less. I did well in hiring you.”

“A couple days then?” I suddenly felt far too uncomfortable around him. There was no way I would find myself alone with him. My red flags were flying.

He sniffed and scanned the perimeter. “Monday should be fine. I only hope another fire doesn’t occur before then. Keep up the good work, Genny.”

When he walked out of sight, I realized I’d been clenching my fist. What was the man getting at and why was I the brunt of his attention? As I gathered my things, I couldn’t remember telling a soul at the office where I was going. What was the man up to?

  * * *

My new insurance company had been less than thrilled with my call, but I’d finally heard back from them after nagging the hell out of them. They would cover the damage. I’d managed to secure the building myself, even grabbing several pieces of plywood from the local hardware store, nailing them over the broken portion without injuring myself. Three days of quiet, at least to a relative degree. There’d been no other signs of an unwanted visitor, no new notes or phone calls. Maybe the fact I hadn’t picked up a phone to hassle anyone had put an end to the bullshit.

I knew better. He, she, or it was biding their time, waiting. With every ping of my work phone, I found myself jumping. I’d learned to turn it off at night, at least pretending to live in a beautiful fantasy world after hours.

As the afternoon turned into early evening, I took my time showering, even creating curls in my hair. I had a feeling tonight was going to be special. The only raincoat I owned was black, creating a rather ominous look with my tall stilettos and ruby red lipstick. However, Blaise certainly had called the weather. A storm was on the horizon, bringing the possibility of significant winds, damaging lightning, and torrential rain. I’d scampered into the car seconds before the first raindrops hit the windshield.

I’d found another way to Blaise’s house, taking several additional side streets, all in an effort to avoid traffic as well as the possibility someone was watching my comings and goings. I had no reason to be worried regarding discovery, at least at this point, but I was determined to remain cautious. I even parked across the street from his driveway for a few minutes, studying the rearview mirror. I also took the opportunity to text him.

I’ll be there soon, sweet sir.

His reply was equally as thrilling as all the others.

Go into my office just off the kitchen and remove your coat. Stand in the corner and wait.

I slipped my hand past the dense material, fingering my nipple. They’d remained fully erect the majority of the day. My longing for this man held no bounds. I found the door unlocked and walked inside, able to hear music coming from another room. I wanted to call out, to make certain he knew I was here, but I was determined to follow his rules. His requirement wasn’t unlike others I’d received, but tonight the words held more meaning.

There was a single light on in the living room, highlighting the rugged appearance, furniture made of leather, and blond wooden floors. All the blinds were closed creating a romantic atmosphere, but I knew better about what to expect tonight. He wanted to make certain I accepted his dominance. As I walked by the opening, I allowed my fingers to trail across the door casing, a smile crossing my face. He was a simple man with uncomplicated needs. Some might even say a true cowboy. I highly doubted his buddies knew about his darker side.

I’d never been in his office and carefully walked down the hall, locating the partially opened door. The hinges creaked as I pushed it with two fingers. I stood outside in the hallway, staring at the small but masculine space. This was so very much Blaise. From the deep reddish-colored wood of the desk, to the high-back leather chair and the bookshelves flanking both sides. I drank in the scent of leather, tingling from the fragrance alone.
/>   What I noticed on the credenza positioned off to the side created a wave of heat pulsing up and down my body, landing in my quivering pussy. He’d been shopping. Various implements were positioned on the surface. Spanking implements to be exact. I walked closer, studying the collection. A leather strap. A flogger. A wooden paddle. A cane. Even a piece of ginger, the stalk long and thick. He’d cut it perfectly, the tube-like formation ready to be inserted in my ass. I had difficulty swallowing. The man was certainly full of surprises.

Positioned at the very end of the narrow table was a vibrator, a Hitachi vibrator, the bulbous end making my mouth water. Pleasure and pain.

I brushed my fingers over the various pieces, goosebumps immediately popping along my arms. I even pulled the ginger to my nose, inhaling until the sweet scent made me weak in the knees. The cane drew my attention more than the others. As I brought the piece closer to my face, inhaling, I had a vision, a memory, and one I didn’t like.

“You’re a very naughty girl,” he said as he took a swig of his drink. I could hear the ice cubes clinking against the glass, the kind of crystal reserved for company, trying to impress. I’d been forced to watch as he poured the drink, taking his time to select the perfect three ice cubes. Not two. Not four. It was the same every time.

“Yes, sir.” I stated the words with more defiance than I should have, my hands clenched at my sides.

“We’ll take care of that. Lean over my desk.”

I gave him a single harsh look, knowing I’d be punished for that alone, and did as I was told. He had a particular method of whipping me, a manner in which he preferred my naked body draped over his sleek, modern desk. Bamboo, as he’d told me more than once. And very expensive. He’d cleared the top, except for the single desk lamp, the one with the Tiffany shade. I bent at the waist, making certain my hands were clenched around the back corners. This positioned my body just off the floor, my legs dangling, not allowing me to find any footing or secure my position. But he didn’t stop there.
