  NOTE TO THE READER

Imagine a world in which each one of us is free to realize our fullest potential. A world where peace and kindness prevail and people treat themselves and others with dignity, love, and respect. Margaret Mead said, “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.”

The information, skills, and tools I’ve compiled in this book have transformed my life and the lives of many others. I’ve often wondered how differently my life would have unfolded had I learned in my formative years that it is by our actions that we create the life we have, that it is by living deliberately and authentically that we activate our potential, and that to truly love and care for others we have
to truly love and care for ourselves.

I encourage you to be one of the “committed citizens” who can change the world. Here are some suggestions for staying focused on your own transformational work and for sharing the information, skills, and tools in this book with others:

  1. Form a Solemate Reading Group. This is a great way to go through the book and exercises with others, share your insights and growth, and give and receive support. To help you create and lead a Solemate Reading Group, I’ve developed the Solemate Reading Group Tool Kit, which can be ordered through my Website at www.laurenmackler.com.

  2. Suggest Solemate to a friend, family member, colleague, book club, women’s or men’s group, church, civic group, synagogue, mosque, university, or adult-education class.

  3. Give a copy of the book as a gift to a friend or family member.

  4. Find out if Solemate is in your local library. If not, either donate a copy or suggest that the library add the book to its inventory. Ask your friends or family who live in other states to do this, too.

  5. Encourage your chain bookstore or local independent store to carry Solemate.

  6. Write an online review of Solemate for Amazon, Borders, Barnes & Noble, or a blog.

  7. Ask the book editor of your local radio or newspaper to consider reviewing the book.

  8. Visit my Website, www.laurenmackler.com, for more information and events, or to join my online Life Keys community.

I wish you much love, peace, and joy as you continue your journey.

  Lauren
