Resurgence: Imortum
Page 18
Doran smiled a moment, but after a minute of nothing happening, he said, “Something is not right, it is not working for me.”
Terrah thought about it, it should have worked. She thought of the other way to bring up the armor and she said, “Draw your weapon, and that will activate the heads up display and make you phase out.”
Doran appeared to reach down and grasp for his sidearm, but it looked as if he was struggling with it, and nothing he did seemed to be working. The weapon just would not budge.
Sighing Doran told her, “I cannot draw the weapon either, it feels as if it is stuck. Try to hit me like I did you.”
Terrah was getting nervous, her brothers and the AI’s said the suits worked for them as soon as they put them on. She hesitated a moment then thrust her fist at Doran. She didn’t hit him hard, but the suit still didn’t protect him either. It felt like hitting silk, and after he gasped for air a moment she shook her head confounded. “I don’t know why it’s not working for you, are you alright?” she asked.
Doran nodded and took in a few breaths.
Terrah then closed her eyes a moment and ran through the possibilities, a moment later it came to her, and she sighed then said, “I would wager it’s because you haven’t eaten the Ambrose and transformed yet. The suit is probably coded to only work with triple helix DNA.”
Doran seemed to be considering what she said, and stated, “You are most likely correct; I think it was Jerren who told us that the increased triple helix DNA allowed them to retain energy. I would bet your body is like a power cell now, and it powers the suit.”
Terrah frowned. As soon as Doran said it she knew he was right. Sighing she said, “Well, at least it looks good on you. If you decide to eat the Ambrose, then it should activate for you as well. Do you want to put on anything different? I would wager that you won’t be able to remove it on your own either.”
After what Doran had shared with Terrah over the past few days, he was already thinking about eating the Ambrose. He figured if he was alive like her, he would have been able to fall into a deep sleep and cuddle next to her. Instead, he lay there for an hour just watching her in wonder.
Doran never had emotions of his own. When he was stuck in Baelac’s body dying, he could feel some of Baelac’s emotions but only when they were very intense, and almost all of them revolved around the fear and despair of not knowing when he was going to die, or the danger he may have led his sister into.
What Doran felt when he was making love to Terrah, were the most intense feelings he had ever had. Quite the opposite of the few types of emotions he had felt and never wanted to feel again, these new emotions made him no longer dwell on the happenings in the past. Smiling at Terrah, Doran said, “I will eat the Ambrose.”
Terrah smiled back at Doran and she said, “That’s wonderful.”
Terrah appeared to be thinking something over a moment then she added, “You will have to wait until after we’re done on Abnearu though, the Ambrose will knock you out for at least six hours, and we have to go over to TDS 1 in an hour or two to evaluate their probe’s data… one second.”
Apparently, Terrah wanted Doran to hear the exchange as well, because she opened the ship’s communications and called out to her brother, “Jason, can you hear me?”
“Yes, what can I do for you Terrah?”
“Doran wants to eat the Ambrose, but we’re less than six hours from Abnearu. Do you think we should wait?”
It sounded as if Jason was speaking in the background a moment, then he replied, “We’re still over nine hours from Abnearu, so you’ll have plenty of time. I’d suggest you slow your ship so we arrive at the same time. But stay phased out, and after you recover we can meet back on this ship and go over the plan.”
Terrah appeared confused as she asked, “What do you mean when I recover? I’ve already eaten the ambrose.”
Jason chuckled and said, “If you both eat it together, it’ll create a better bond. But make sure you’re in physical contact with each other when you take the second bites.”
“Thank you, we’ll see you in a little over six hours then,” Terrah had replied.
“Alright, make sure he knows that he will lose contact with the ship until he applies the secondary binding disk in the master control room. We don’t need another of those incidents. Just let him know it will all be resolved after that,” Jason finished assuredly.
Terrah smiled warmly at Doran and replied, “Okay, he heard you. We will be in touch,” and she closed the ship’s communications.
A moment later Terrah reduced the ships speed then she took Doran by the hand and transported them on to the bed. An instant later a small dish of Ambrose appeared and was sitting between them. Terrah picked up her utensil, sliced a piece off and fed it to Doran.
Doran had eaten many different things over the years, but nothing ever tasted as good as the Ambrose. He was marveling at the flavors and textures and how they played off of each other, and even though he wanted the sensations to continue, the flavors dissipated within minutes and he opened his eyes.
A moment later Terrah opened her eyes and she smiled at Doran, saying, “One down,” sounding greatly amused, then she sliced another bite for him, took his hand in hers, and gave him the second bite.
Doran took his second bite and closed his eyes. Jason had said the bond would be better if they ate it together, and at first, it was intense with the flavors and textures melding powerfully before exploding and pulsing throughout his body. However, he soon realized that was not what Jason had meant.
Doran felt it the moment Terrah had taken her second bite, and now he knew why Jason said they needed to eat it together. He could feel Terrah, really feel her. He reached out and touched her with his mind, and when he made contact he felt as if a live wire had sparked in his very being.
Terrah touched him in turn and before Doran knew it he was entwined in an embrace that made it hard to determine where his enerxia began and hers ended. The throes of passion became so intense that had he been conscious, Doran knew he would have passed out with each explosive wave of pleasure that coursed throughout his body like a pulsar.
Terrah had sliced the second piece of Ambrose for herself and put the rest of it back into base storage, then she hurriedly placed it into her mouth, and she was immediately drawn into the most intense sensations she had ever experienced.
Terrah knew Jason was up to something by telling her to eat the Ambrose while being in contact with Doran, because they did not give the same instructions to them when she and her sisters ate it before.
Now she enjoyed the euphoric state as before, but this time she could sense Doran was in it with her as well, and if she had not known the food was responsible, she would have thought she was under the influence of a powerful hallucinogen.
Every contact they made seemed to explode in an orgasmic release that didn’t quite finish what it had promised. They were entwined in a fiery passion that seemed to last forever, yet it ended way too soon for Terrah’s liking.
Before Terrah knew it her eyes flew opened and she peered next to her to find Doran was in the same state. She closed her eyes a moment and focused on removing their clothing. Then in one swift motion, Terrah was back to straddling Doran, and she rode him as if her life depended on it. A few minutes later, however, the ride became bumpy when Doran took over.
Doran’s frustration was palpable at being held down in this position, and Terrah almost laughed at what she felt. He was disconnected from the ship and her at the moment, but she could still feel that Doran had a primal sexual desire within him.
Doran had wrapped his left leg around her right, and then with a swift roll he was on top of her with a grin. They were balanced precariously close to the edge of the bed, and then he brought his mouth down on hers and quashed the warning she was just about to call out.
Terrah had felt Doran nearing his release, and she knew he was attempting to overcome it so he wouldn’t end the excitement so soo
n. He tried to hold still to calm himself down, but her hips were gyrating in a primal need of her own. So, in apparent frustration, Doran withdrew and pulled back just enough to put him out of range. Doran seemed to regain his composure, and then he proceeded to see to her needs once again.
Terrah lost herself in the pleasure Doran was giving her. A moment later, the cold water of reality washed over her in the form of Jason’s voice calling out to her.
“Terrah, are you awake yet?”
Sighing between pants, Terrah opened the ship’s communications, “Uh, yes… Is it time already?”
Terrah thought she could hear the amusement in Jason’s voice as he told her they waited an extra hour to call over, just in case it took longer to recover this time. Pouncing on Jason’s response, Terrah said, “Yes, that must be it, I must’ve taken longer to wake this time. We’ll be over in a few minutes.”
Jason chuckled and said, “Don’t forget to get the secondary binding disk for Doran in the master control room before coming over here… on second thought, take the binding disk back to your ship and apply it. That way it’ll only be ten minutes and not eighty, and when Doran applies the disk, you have to make contact again. You’ll both be out for ten more minutes, so make sure you’re both lying down before doing it or risk a head injury.”
Terrah laughed remembering that Calia told her that is what happened to Jason, and she replied, “Got it. We’ll be over in fifteen to twenty minutes.”
Terrah and Doran hustled into the Ion shower, and a moment later they were clean once again. Frowning she put her clothes back on and had Doran do the same. It took a few attempts, but Doran finally summoned the golden body suit. Once again, she demonstrated how to activate the armor, and this time, it only took one try before Doran’s armor was raised. She instructed him to draw his weapon and she did hers.
A moment later, Doran looked around the room in apparent astonishment.
“This is intense,” he said, then added, “The heads up display is tracking and monitoring everything in here, and it is even able to monitor my life signs.”
Terrah laughed and said, “We can go over the functionality of the armor and weapons later, right now you need to get the disk to reconnect with the ship. Then we need to head over there to finalize our plan.”
Doran let out a laugh as he holstered his weapon. “It does feel strange not having any control over the ship,” he said as he reached out and took Terrah’s hand. “It is time to go then,” Doran raised her hand to his lips and kissed it gently as they exited the bathroom.
Terrah saw Doran look to the bed really quick, then looking back to her, he said, “I do believe we will need a larger bed… we almost hit the floor in all of our excitement.”
Terrah laughed and said, “You may be right. We can take care of that later,” She focused and transported them to the engine room and stepped through the archway to the master control room.
Chapter Twenty
Fifteen minutes later the bonding procedure had completed and Terrah and Doran sat up from the floor of their engine room.
Doran shook his head saying, “This is interesting, the new neural connection feels much stronger than before.”
Terrah laughed. “I can imagine, wait until we increase the data flow. Follow me,” She said just before she stepped through the archway.
Doran followed Terrah as she entered the master control room again, and once in there Terrah pointed down at the console and said, “It needs your input.”
Doran looked down and read out,
TDS 4.
Apply secondary binding disk to host.
Binding process successful.
Command interface required.
Command interface confirmed
Command functions TDS 4 transferred.
Data stream optimal.
A moment later Terrah said, “There you go… huh. That’s strange, I had to activate the safety protocol before increasing the data flow, and yours was already set to optimal.” She seemed momentarily confused about the oddity, but she said, “We’d better get over to TDS 1, they’re waiting for us.”
Upon entering TDS 1, Alise’s voice could be heard informing them they were waiting on the second level. Once Doran and Terrah arrived they took their seats and each member of the group took it in turn, to let Doran know how happy they were for him.
Doran had been concerned about the ramifications of eating the Ambrose and becoming truly alive at first, but after the warm welcome and friendly smiles, his tension seemed to melt away.
Something about this group made Doran feel comfortable in a way he had never been with any of the prior commanders he had bonded with in the past.
Jason’s warm smile faded and he took on a determined air as he called out, “Alright, now that we’re all here we need to go over the information we’ve collected.
“We have good news and bad news, and the bad news is as we expected. The planet is completely encompassed by interlocking space ships in the same manner as Serqalin had been. Alise and Calia have estimated that with the size of the planet, we will need to perform a dual geomagnetic pulse to affect the entire planet as well as the ships in orbit.
“It appears as if they began mining the space surrounding Abnearu at the same time as Serqalin, so we’ve decided to have TDS 1 and TDS 3 perform the same GMPs in the same times as we did before. The good news is there are no dark matter bombs at this location, just a lot of conventional mines. So, we will locate Sethis and Nephthys just before our first GMP, then reset Abnearu in a few different times before attempting our assault on TDS 2. Alise has already attached one of her prior probes to The GoW.”
“GoW?” Terrah asked sounding befuddled.
Jason snorted and said, “Yes, that’s one of the titles Horuisis went by on Earth. GoW stands for God of War. A bit presumptuous I think, but he has it on his ship in runes. So, for the time being, that is what we’re calling the ship they made.
“Anyway, because his ship is in physical contact with TDS 2 and has Imortum tech built throughout it, our GMP’s won’t affect his ship. But he will be well aware that we’re doing something, so we attached a probe in the event he tries to flee, and we’ll have a lock on him.
“We’re still going with the plan of trying to siege the ship from within. I really don’t want to use our ships as a hammer or chisels. We’ll need to make sure your ship has enough base materials to make the Ion pulse generators and install them. We have an hour until we arrive, so we should be fine,” Jason said to Terrah.
Terrah nodded and asked, “How do I get the base materials if I don’t have them?”
“We have plenty of base materials on our ship. Actually, I think it best to just make the ion pulse generators for her. We can take them through the master control room to get them to her ship.” Justin said, then added, “With the lot of us, we should be able to move them without issue. Once onboard your ship you will just need to scan and store them in base material form then remake them on the observation level. Once you have them set up and the GMP’s are done we will set the ships in a square formation targeting the GoW in the center.”
Jason spoke again, “Because Jerren has the most tactical assault training, he’ll take the lead on the retrieval of Sethis and his wife on the surface as well as the assault on the GoW. Sethis and Nephthys have a temple set up the same as Osiris and Isis did on Abydos, so that’s most likely where they’ll be found. Jerren, Justin, and I’ll transport down to their temple from TDS 1, collect them and as soon as we’re all safely aboard TDS 1 then Alise and Calia will commence with the GMP’s.
“After the GMP’s are completed, we will focus on charging and gaining access to TDS 2, and If and when we manage to get onboard TDS 2 we’ll assault the GoW and collect Horuisis while Saleria secures TDS 2.”
Jason gestured to Terrah’s younger sister and said, “Vellia has been working on the harmonic shattering point of the Tungsten bindings they’re using to hold the Imortum technology tog
ether. Do you want to tell them what you have found so far?”
Terrah could tell her sister was still in pain and was about to see if they could get her something for her when Vellia shook her head in Terrah’s direction.
Vellia seemed to force a smile, nodded and said, “Tungsten carbide is a very dense material and I think they used it on the GoW because it’s so effective in the absorption of energy weapons. It has a flaw though, it’s brittle, and impact or high resonance can shatter the bonds. At MIT, we were working on a black budget DARPA project a few years back.
“We were using high energy resonance frequency pulse lasers to not only cut, but dissolve molecular bonds in the densest of alloys. We were unable to make much more than dents in the large blocks of Tungsten before our frequency crystals would shatter under the stress, but we know it can be done by the tests on smaller objects. Jerren said these ships absorb heat and energy. After you told us about these ships, it got me thinking. I believe our project was created to find a way into your ship at Area 51,” Vellia directed her statement at Terrah.
“The problem I’m running into is that resonance waves won’t travel well in the vacuum of space, so I’m thinking we need to use an energy weapons beam as the carrier wave. But we’ll need a longer duration than the ships weapons fire will allow to disrupt the molecular structure, and that is if we could even achieve the resonance we would require.
“So, unless we can get around that obstacle, we will have to find a manual way to release TDS 2 from within the GoW,” Vellia ended sounding a little dejected.
Terrah sighed. “Well, I think we need to concentrate on entering and taking possession of TDS 2 first. Unless there’s anything else, I think we need to set up the Ion pulse generators on our ship so we will be ready.”
