  My hands lifted in surrender as my heart pounded violently against my ribs. “What do you want, Declan?”

  “You. I wish I could get a fucking whore like you out of my head, but I just can’t. I’m obsessed with that face, that body, that filthy cunt you let other men defile. You’re mine, Belle. It’s either I have you or no one else does.” He waved the gun at me. “Strip.”

  A strange calmness washed over me. “No.”

  He unlocked the gun safety.

  “You don’t say no to me! I said fucking strip, you bitch.”

  “Or what?”

  “I will shoot you, and then I will fuck your dying body just like the last time.”

  I nodded. “Okay. Why don’t you try?”

  “Oh, you’re not scared of death anymore?”

  “Not at all. And I’m done being scared of you, too. So shoot me, Declan. Take your best shot.”

  His face turned crimson as he swooped down on me, pinning my wrists to the bed. I fought with my new strength, shoving him off me in a flash. I ran outside, but his heavy hands were on my jacket, and he hurled me against a wall. I tried to stand, but a loud bang echoed in my skull.

  Fuck. The son of a bitch did shoot me.

  In the head.

  I crumbled down on the living room floor, blood streaming down my forehead, nose and eyelids.

  “Yeah, you stay down while I fuck you nice and hard. I know you missed Daddy’s cock.” He set the gun on the coffee table and unbuckled his belt.

  I was not being dragged into the darkness like the last time. I was aware of everything. My body was eating me up from the inside out, burning with beasts’ healing powers.

  Wow.

  My brain was repairing itself. My skull bones were coming back together. I opened my eyes, laughing softly.

  “What the fuck?” Declan’s hands froze on his pants.

  “I know, right?” I leaned on my elbows and stood.

  “W..what… I… You…” he stammered, stumbling back on the furniture. “If you do anything stupid, the videos will be online the next minute.”

  “Your videos are long gone. And so will you and your nasty shit forever.” I closed the distance between us and grabbed his neck.

  “Belle, no,” he rattled.

  I giggled. “I came here craving revenge, pain and blood. I was going to torture you, take my time before I gave your soul to Damien, but…you’re not even worth it. I’d rather spend that time fucking my beasts like a whore from hell.”

  His eyes bulged like a choking fish. “You can’t kill me. You can’t kill me!”

  “Yes, I can. And I will. Goodbye, Professor Montgomery. Fuck you very much.” My fingers pressed his throat with all my strength until it snapped. Then I heard it, the beast that rumbled in my core.

  The shifter transition was now complete. When my fingers retracted into claws, there was no doubt about it.

  “Look at that. I got my claws.” With them, I slashed Declan’s neck and separated his head from his body.

  I lifted my head to the ceiling, sweltering with three different kinds of dark power. Finally, I was free from my captor. Liberated of everything that had ever held me down. I had to become a mixture of three creatures of night and a murderer for it to happen. But this incredible feeling, this dangerous yet exhilarating power was worth it.

  With my dark side, I knew I would need a lot of work and time to tame the new power, but I wasn’t worried. I had all the time in the world, and four marvelous beasts to help.

  Licking Declan’s disgusting blood off my hands on my way out of the building, I saw my four beasts standing, waiting for me in the woods.

  They were all smiling at me with pride and love.

  I was happy at last. No more fear. No more pain. No more monsters.

  Only Belle.

  And her loving beasts.
