Broken Angel Page 6

  “Oh come on really!” I squealed as we pulled up outside the restaurant.

  “Come let’s go eat,” he said as he opened the door and slid out of the car.

  “Seriously! Serendipity 3! You have to stop spoiling me!” I squealed in a higher pitched voice taking his out stretched hand and climbing out of the car.

  “Come, baby, let’s go eat dinner.”

  We dine on chicken nachos, Pilgrim’s corn chowder, he has the Chicken Diva, and I order the Bi-Sensual Burger. Oh the food is so good. I moan with every bite and Decker laughs at me every time.

  We talk about our lives growing up. I told him how I was bullied from third grade till eighth grade and how it only stopped because I switched schools. I told him about the first time I realized I was in love with the city.

  “…I was almost fourteen and came at night with my brother. He knew the bouncer at The Limelight somehow, how I don’t know since he was only fifteen. But we went right in. It was the first time I had seen anything like it, the lights, the music, and the drugs. First time I had a drink, smoked a cigarette, met someone who was gay, met club kids, really danced with a guy and felt an erection and the first time I realized that the bass pumping beat was what I truly loved. The way I could feel it in my heart I knew I was hooked. It was a feeling of freedom.”

  “When was the last time you went dancing?”

  “I was nineteen. It was right before I met Shawn. I gave up my life and who I was to be with him. I lost myself somewhere.”

  A sad look appeared on his face. Before anything more could be said the waiter was clearing away our plates and leaving us dessert menus. A smile played across Decker’s face and I couldn’t figure out what he was thinking.

  “What are you having?” he asks.

  “How am I supposed to decide? Everything is so tempting.” My mouth was watering just looking at the menus.

  Turns out I wouldn’t have to decide. The waiter walked over and plops this beautiful sundae down in front of me. It’s covered in whipped cream and gold pieces. There are truffles in a box of candied almonds, a small gold velvet pouch and gold spoons.

  My mouth hit the floor. I mean it actually hits the floor, because I fell off my chair.

  Decker is laughing as he helps me up.

  “Are you fucking crazy?” I stutter out.

  “What do you mean?” he said laughing.

  Pointing at the sundae I stutter, “That’s…that’s…that’s…” I couldn’t even say it. I was like a broken record.

  “Yes, it’s the Frozen Haute Chocolat.” The tone in his voice was like this sundae sitting in front of us was from Dairy Queen.

  “But…how? They need like forty-eight hour notice.”

  I remember reading about this sundae when they first started making it years ago. They require forty-eight hours notice because all the ingredients are flown in fresh. It’s only made from the best stuff from around the world.

  “Well on Wednesday when I found out Jen was sick and then Maggie was complaining she wasn’t feeling good, I figured you would need to be here this weekend. I made reservations.”

  “Are you fucking crazy?” I still gapped wide mouth at the sundae.

  “Baby, please let’s enjoy this.” His twinkling eyes showing delight.

  “Well I certainly hope we do enjoy this because it’s a $25,000 sundae. You have to be fucking crazy.” My hands are frozen to my cheeks, it’s just too much.

  “I can afford it. Come dig in before it melts or I eat it all.” He hands me a gold spoon.

  I think that was the absolute best thing that ever entered my mouth. Even better then the truffles I ate last night at Per Se. Oh God, he is spoiling me. This is not good. I think I had an orgasm as he took the bracelet off the goblet and wrapped it around my wrist.

  “One more stop and then we’ll head home, okay?” he said scribbling his name across the receipt and paid the bill.

  “Decker, please you’re spoiling me. No more please!” I was beginning to wonder how I would ever go back to my own life.

  “Don’t worry this won’t cost me a thing…unless you order a drink,” he winked at me.

  “What is it?” As much as I didn’t want his surprise I did. I loved that someone actually thought of me for once.

  “Oh no, baby, just one more surprise for tonight.”

  I just roll my eyes at him and he laughed.

  ~~~
  We pull up outside a building and I can tell by the velvet ropes, the line of people and the guy standing by the door with a clipboard we were at a night club.
  “You’re taking me dancing!” I shouted. It was half a question, half an excited statement.
  “It’s called Simyone Lounge. We don’t have to stay long; I just wanted you to feel that pounding in your heart again. I would take you to The Limelight, but as I’m sure you’re well aware, they closed down years ago.”
  “Oh, Decker, I don’t think I can take any more of your surprises and spoiling me.”
  “Last one I promise,” he said pulling me out of the car and ushering me toward the door.
  He half hugs half chest bumps the bouncers in only the way men do and were ushered straight in. Thank God my boots only have a small heel. I don’t know if I could dance in anything bigger. We check our coats and I also take the sweater off I’m wearing. Thank God for the little black tank top I had on underneath otherwise I would have died of heat stroke.
  We’re given a small table in the back it has an ice bucket with champagne in it, sitting on it waiting for us. Decker pours us both a glass. I sip it barely able to hold still, my hips moving on their own accord to the pounding beat.
  “Come, baby, let’s dance,” he practically screams in my ear over the music.
  “It’s been a while since I did this so please give me some time to find my groove again,” I yelled in his ear as he pulled me toward the floor.
  He nods with a huge smile on his face.
  We danced and danced. Song after song, hour after hour. Hips swaying in time to the music. Laughing at each other as we did crazy dance moves. Just being carefree. It was so much fun. Something I hadn’t done in years. It felt liberating. I felt like myself. I felt like the old me!
  It was when the DJ put on David Guetta’s Titanium I felt it on my hip. It didn’t shock me it actually was something I was dying to feel since I saw it in the bath tub yesterday. I spun around in his arms and looked up. There in his eyes was the same thing I now felt growing even bigger against my stomach.
  He locked his arm around my back and bent me backwards. My tank top rode up my stomach to just above my belly button. Oh God this is so freaking hot. Then he bent and kissed my stomach and continued the kissing as he brought me up right stopping right at that sensitive spot by my ear.
  Holy Fuck! I’m going to orgasm right here on the floor! I thought as he ground his hips into me one more time.
  “Come, baby, let’s go home,” he whispered in my ear before licking that spot. I couldn’t hear anything else besides that whisper. My wetness drips down my leg as he grabs my hand and we head for the coat check.
  Outside the car is waiting, and of course so are the cameras. Bulbs pop as we walk toward the car. Oh this is never going to end unless we stop going out in public. I slide in and he slides next to me. The partition window is up and the car door closes. Before I knew it Decker has me on his lap straddling his legs.
  He pushes me hard against his erection and I moan. He pushes my coat off my shoulders and it ripples to the ground. I never put my sweater back on so he doesn’t have to worry about removing it, it’s already abandon somewhere on the floor under my coat. His one arm wrapped at the nape of my neck pulling my head back so he can suck at my neck and the crest of my boobs, the bra’s I always wore made sure to cover my scars so nothing was visible but normal looking skin. His other arm wrapped around my waist holding me to him.
  Dry humping and making out in the back of the car like we are some ho
rny teenagers. I grew wetter as he pushed his hard cock against me again and again. His hands started to try and pull my top and bra down to free my boobs, I stiffened and Decker stopped.
  “Decker, please don’t…I can’t…my scars…I don’t want you to see.”
  “Baby, don’t worry. They’ll stay in till you’re ready.” He dove for my neck again.
  Grinding his hips up into me; pushing me closer to a release that will have me seeing stars. Over and over and over we hump each other and act like two teenagers in the back of a car at make out point. His hands tangle in my hair and my nails scrape down his scalp and neck.
  “Decker…oh…God…” I stutter as he pushes me higher and closer to an orgasm.
  “Ba…by…don’t…stop…” he mumbles between thrusts and kisses.
  Just as Bruno Mars started singing about being Locked out of Heaven, the thunder started in my ears. My head fell back and there were fireworks of colors exploding in my eyes.
  Holy fuck that was amazing! I’ve never had an orgasm like that and I’m still clothed. I knew I was in trouble at this point. I knew I would never be able to look at Decker again without thinking of this moment. How I would ever go on living without this man? I had no idea.
  As my eyes focused I can tell by the look on Decker’s face I wasn’t the only one who had an orgasm. I started to giggle.
  “What’s so funny?” he asked.
  “That’s gonna be a mess and slimy to walk in.” I laughed pointing to his pants.
  “All worth it, baby. Haven’t had that happen since I was a teenager. Who knew something so good could happen with all our clothes on,” he mumbles as he presses his lips to my neck.
  I have to admit I haven’t had a good make-out session like that since I was a teenager. Not even Shawn and I made out like that when we first got together. It was refreshing to know someone could want me in a way that never involved taking my clothes off.
  Suddenly I gasp and look over my shoulder toward the partition window that is still up. My cheeks begin to flame with embarrassment. I stick my face into the crook of his neck. I inhale deeply, loving the smell of his skin and cologne. It’s intoxicating.
  “Don’t worry, baby, he can’t hear us. But I do need to open it to tell him to stop circling and head home,” he said, straitening me up and planting a kiss on the crest of my breast.
  Climbing down I sigh to myself, already missing his touch. I adjust my clothes to make sure I’m presentable. Decker presses a button on the arm rest of the door and the window goes down and he tells the driver to proceed back home. I snuggle up next to him.
  As we pull up to the building the bulbs are popping again. This time they are stuck to the one side and we are able to walk by with no issues. We enter the building and head up the elevator. Decker doesn’t let go of me the whole time.
  We stand in the front hall just staring at each other. I finally break the silence, “Decker, I don’t think it’s a good idea to spend the night in the same room. I don’t think I could handle or control myself and we’ve already gone too far. I shouldn’t have done that in the car. Not while I have a boyfriend.”
  “Baby, don’t ever regret what happened. It was amazing. I understand how you feel and I’ll never push you further then you are comfortable. But I would be a fool to try and not win you somehow.”
  “Decker, I could never fit…”
  “Stop right there.” He put his fingers over my lips to stop me from talking. “I know where you’re going and if I want you in my world you will be in it. Go to bed its late and we have had a busy day. I’ll see you in the morning.”
  He walks me to my bedroom door. Looks down at me with those eyes that will make an iceberg melt and kissed me on my forehead. He presses his forehead against mine and holds my face in his hands. We stand there like that for what feels like forever. I feel safe and loved.
  He finally says, “Baby, if I stay here any longer I can’t be held accountable for what happens and I don’t want to move faster then you’re ready for. Go to bed.”
  He opens my door and walks me a couple of steps into my room. He holds my hand up and kisses the back of it. He walks away and doesn’t let go until he’s so far away that even our finger tips can’t touch any longer. With one last smile he turns and walks away. I close the door to my room with a whimper, missing the feel of his hand on mine and shed my coat and boots before I even hit the bed. I collapse on top of the blankets without even changing or removing my makeup. I was asleep before I even hit the pillow.
  Chapter 3
  Morning was seeping into my eyes. Looking at the clock I see it’s ten in the morning already. “Shit I over slept.” I jump out of bed and head for the shower. Quickly shedding my clothes on the way I glance in the mirror, God I look like hell. Big raccoon eyes from my makeup – I really should have removed it but I was so tired- hair that was reminding me of Diana Ross’s hair in the 70s. Man, I hope I didn’t look like this last night in the car.
  Quickly, I jump in the shower and wash up. Wrapping a towel around my hair and another around my body I head back to the bedroom. I stop dead in my tracks. There sitting on the bed is a tray of food and a vase with the most beautiful calla lily sticking out of it. Oh my favorite flowers. Picking up the folded note I opened it and read,
  Everyone wants to be the sun that lights up your life. But I'd rather be your moon, so I can shine on you during your darkest hour when your sun isn't around.
  Fuck…shit…shit that was the most beautiful thing I have ever heard…fuck, fuck, fuck! I started sinking to the floor clutching the note. No, I cannot break down now. I need to make it these last two weeks and just move past Decker Jensen. He’s only feeling this way because we’ve been stuck together for weeks now. Once he’s able to get out he’ll forget about me.
  I grab the New York Post off the tray, it’s still folded in half and rubber banded. Decker knows I love reading the gossip on Page Six and has gotten a subscription for me. Unwrapping the band I unfold it and there in all its glory stretching just about the whole width of the page is a picture of Decker and me in the club plastered on the front page. My back to the camera; my tattooed back almost bare from the low cut tank I was wearing, his hands gripped so tight on my hips. The headline in big bold letters read,
  JENSEN CATCHES AN ANGEL. WILL THIS ANGEL FINALLY CALM THE PLAYBOY!
  Without even skipping a beat I skim the article. It talks about the incident Friday night, how we were spotted eating pretzels in Central Park, catching a matinee show on Broadway, eating dinner then out clubbing. It talks about how Decker was always seen with model and other celebrities and how I had no ties to that world. And how the world will be waiting for the next move of this known bachelor and his angel winged girl.
  Turning to Page Six I thought I would be in for it. I knew pictures of us would be plastered there.
  There was a picture of me at the pretzel cart, us leaving the theater, entering Serendipity 3 for dinner, a few dancing shots and then one of us leaving the club. Thank God none were of him kissing my stomach.
  Knowing he tries to ignore the gossip. I placed the card he wrote me on the dress, the newspaper back on the tray, got dressed real quick and grabbed the tray and headed to find Decker. He was sitting at the counter when I placed the paper in front of him front page glaring up at him. I more hear then see his mouth drop and a sharp intake of breath when he finally registers what I put in front of him.
  “Whoa, baby, turn and lift that shirt. How have I never seen your back before? How did I not notice this last night? Come on, what are you waiting for show me your wings, angel.”
  “Show me your wings angel, what kind of cheesy line is that?” I say laughing as I turn, lifting my shirt and lowering the waist of my pants a little so he can see the two wings that stretch from my shoulders to my hips.
  Decker sucked in the sharpest breath I’ve ever heard. “Damn that’s fucking sexy. For Ely?”
  I had to giggle. D
ecker swore. I don’t think I’ve ever heard him swear.
  “No, Ely has my heart,” I turn back around to show him Ely’s name written in a grayish-purple cursive across the top of my left breast, where the skin isn’t scarred. “The wings represent my guardian angel. She’s been there with me ever since third grade when the bullying started. I felt her there Friday night when I collapsed.”
  “So besides those two, any other tattoos?” he asked with a quizzical look, almost like he never thought I would have a tattoo.
  Lifting my pant leg I show him the butterflies and twisting bands that wrap around my left leg from my toes to my knee. “It represents my brother’s soul. I lost him two years ago to cancer.”
  I hate thinking of my brother’s death. I watched him for a year live in pain, the cancer eating his body away. Nothing helped him. Watching and holding his hand as he took his last breath killed me. I swore I would never ever watch someone die again. It’s not like you see on television. They don’t just close their eyes and go to sleep.
  Tracing the line around my foot with his finger, “It’s beautiful. I’m sure he loves it. I’d love to hear about him someday. Anything else hiding under your clothes?”
  I lift my right pant leg up to my knee again, showing him the tattoo that covers my whole lower leg.
  “Wow that’s cool. It’s like you were carved from a piece of wood. How did they do it? How long did it take?”
  “It took about sixteen hours, we did it in three days. I showed my guy a picture of what I wanted and he gave me this. I couldn’t have asked for anything better.” I looked down at my leg and smiled at the tattoo. It was an intricate design of black swirls and lines. I had seen a wooden table at an estate sale once and it had these intricately carved wooden legs, I had taken a picture of the legs. After saving for months I was able to get my leg tattooed to look like those table legs.
  “You are an enigma. You befuddle me with every turn. Just when I think you’ve almost told me everything a whole pile of…of…of…wow just comes flying at me. Do you have any more?”
