“Every time with you brings me to such a fevered pitch, I forget you are a lady, and soon to be my wife. I want to do things to you that no noblewoman would dare do within her marriage bed,” he said.

“I want those things as well, William. Make full love to me, I want you to touch me and taste me until I scream for repletion. I want for you to treat me as you will any woman of your sexual experience. I want to find true satisfaction within your arms, and I want to please you as well as any courtesan to her master. Teach me, William. Teach me.”

Her pleas sent a fire off within his cold blood, as he placed his lips back to hers. He was sane enough to undo the small buttons at the back of her simple dress, to expose her fair-colored breasts. They were the color of peaches and cream, topped with raspberry-colored nipples. He wanted to consume her in one bite. So he did. He molded his mouth to her breasts and took a good deal of her flesh within his warm mouth.

Her hands immediately went to his hair and pulled. Reaching between them, he undid his trousers, too desperate to take his breeches completely off. He released his angry looking erection and placed the tip to her moist entrance.

“I want to take you hard. I need to ride you as if I am a storm, and you are a ship. I need to ravish you to the point of exhaustion.”

She widened her eyes and nodded her head. It was all the permission he needed. So without thinking, he thrust his hardened cock within her tight pussy and sighed at the fit. Watching her head thrash back upon the floor, he pulled his cock all the way out of her and slammed back into her slit.

Groaning at the feeling, he bucked against her body. Much like a wild beast would with his mate during her heat. He could not help himself from grabbing her glorious blonde hair and pulling to keep her where she was, for he wanted to watch her as she reached her orgasm.

He felt his eyes change to the color of hellfire and his fangs extend. He watched as her mouth opened wide in the throes of her second orgasm.

Her pussy tightened around his cock painfully, but he did not want to leaves the confines of her cunt, so he slowed his pumping to bring her back down to earth. When she was panting and sweating, he began again.

“Oh, William, I don’t think I can come again. Oh, it’s too much!”

However, her reaction belied her words for she began to tremble once again in his arms. “William, William, please…”

He knew what she was asking for, and he wanted to gift it to her, so as she began to shake once more, his fangs bit into her breast and he fed from her. The delicious blood splashed over his tongue as her orgasm came upon her in waves of torment. His vampire kiss could bequest her with the most agonizingly swift orgasm of her life.

Feeling as if he might die from the experience, he joined her in completion. As her pussy bathed his cock with cum, she also fed him her life’s force, warming his body. Removing his teeth from her bountiful bosom, he watched as she shook and then collapsed. As his cock spilled his seed within her womb he licked the red streaks of blood from her and sealed the puncture marks on her breast. He then rolled his massive body off her, and brought her to his side, laying her head on his shoulder.

He materialized a very warm blanket around her cooling body. He felt dawn coming, and was glad she seemed so replete from their coupling that she was lightly dozing.

Speaking to her mind carefully but clearly, he instructed her exhausted body to sleep, as he slept. He did not want her to wake to see him in death’s grip. He knew what he looked like as he slept, and he did not want to frighten her.

His last thought was to dress them both back into their clothing, and right their bodies. One never knew when they would stop.

So it went that she slept as he slept when the sun finally came up above the horizon.

  Chapter Seventeen

  Trenton’s townhome

Nigel stood on the doorsteps of the viscount’s home waiting for their butler to open the door. He had made many plans the previous evening, and the flowers he was holding within his hands were just the beginning. He would woo the chit and whisk her off to Gretna Green.

When he was admitted, he was met by the lady of the home. His smile slipped slightly, but returned full force. He played the gentleman well during court. He could do so as well here.

“Good day, my lady, I was hoping to see Miss Drake this day. Perhaps take her on a morning ride through Hyde Park?” he asked.

Looking rather tired, the countess replied, “Rose has had a death within her family. She has been rushed home to Halverson castle to see to her sister.”

Feeling the nausea rise within his throat, he smiled. “How dreadful. I do hope she will recover soon. I do know that a family death is a grief-stricken business. I shall have to send her a note of condolences. If you will me, my lady, I will return home and do just that. And here, please have these to brighten up any room within your home.”

After he handed the countess her flowers, he walked carefully from the house and then ran to his awaiting carriage. He had a very fast journey to take, to meet up with the couple on the road. He would need his fastest-paced horse. It was madness. However, he did not work this hard for so long for nothing! She was going to be his wife, even if she was dragged in front of a magistrate at pistol point!

  A home outside of London

He was caught within her death’s grip. She had finished with him earlier in the night. However, he sat chained to her bed, like an animal. His mind was beginning to clear, and he desperately wanted to go to his wife. It was folly to have followed her the first night, months ago.

He had only been home a few times this month, and his wife was nowhere to be found. She was not staying with her family, and she was not at their country estate. He felt he could drag himself away from the abyss that was his monstrous lover during the daylight. However, as always, his brain would cloud, and he would follow her as she beckoned.

Feeling the ropes cut into his wrists as he struggled, he stopped. He was exhausted, for she had kept him awake and erect all night long. She had taken much of his blood, and he had yet to drink or consume nourishment.

His last thought was his beautiful wife, and how he would find his way back into her loving arms, if she would have him.

  His grace’s carriage

It was close to dusk, and had taken a great deal of time for the marquis to catch the vehicle. Because of the massive size, weight, and inhabitants, it was easy to overtake.

The driver saw, Nigel come upon the vehicle as he tried to pull him over. Riding to the front, he stopped the driver from continuing.

He drew his pistol out and bellowed, “Stop, and open the door to the carriage.”

Coming off his perch, the driver did as he bade. He walked to the door and rolled it open.

It caused sunlight to stream into the vehicle, and for smoke to start billowing out.

Rose smelt the burning before she was awakened rudely by a strong arm. She screamed as she was bodily removed from the carriage and William’s arms. She looked to her abductor and almost screamed out loud, until a pistol was brought to her eye level, cocked and ready to fire. Calming down, she looked to William, who was caught in his kind’s sleep, helpless to move out of the sunlight.

Without thinking of her own safety, she slammed the door closed.

“Watch your next action, my lady. I have a pistol pointed to your precious brain. We would not want for it to go off prematurely. Why was his grace smoking in the carriage? Did you forget to extinguish the cheery root after you let him disgrace you?”

Opening her mouth to cut him directly, he ticked his eyebrow up and pointed the gun at the driver who was slowly making his way over to the driver seat of the carriage.

“One more step, my man, and you will die for your actions.”

He then pointed the pistol to Rose and stated, “Come with me now, and I will leave these two men alive. Refuse and I will ma
ke sure your precious duke never sees the light of day.”

Rose wanted to bellow that he had not seen the light of day in over two hundred years, but thought better of it when faced with a pistol.

“Where are we going, my lord?” she asked innocently.

“You shall see when we are there. Do as I bid you, and no harm shall come to your family or friends.”

Feeling helpless, she moved with the marquis to his awaiting horse and was forced to sit astride in front of the man.

Looking to William’s driver she said, “Help him.”

Complete understanding lit the man’s eyes and he nodded his acceptance of her order.

And then she was on a horse with Nigel seated behind her, traveling quickly through the trees and shrubbery.

Rose tightened her voice. “I ask again, Nigel, where are we going?”

“You are a persistent woman. I would usually admire that in a person, if it did not sound so insufferable coming from you. Be quiet or I shall return to the duke’s carriage and shoot both men. It is horrible enough that you were lying within his arms, too sedate to move until I pulled you from his grasp. You must have acted the whore for hours, for the fool did not awaken when I took you from his arms. If you do not do as you are told, I will make absolutely sure your sister is rendered unmarriageable, and the king himself will strip your father of his title!”

Rose closed her mouth, and kept her lips shut tightly. She looked up into the sky to find the sun. It was late in the afternoon. Nightfall would come in a few hours, which meant William would awaken. She just hoped his wounds would be healed by then, so he could come and rescue her.

The driver walked to the door of the carriage, shaking and feeling the nausea rise in his throat. He knew his employer was one of the damned, and he knew it was his duty to revive him. He had never given his blood to anyone of the undead before, but his employer was a good man, and a very fine friend.

So he opened the door enough to place himself within the confines of the vehicle and almost retched at the sight and smell of his lordship. The man’s face was covered in bubbling burns, which made him gasp and close his eyes once more.

He then rolled up his sleeve and took a blade out from his coat pocket. He knew he would have to make a cut to his skin to release his blood. Opening his eyes just a tick, he quickly slashed his wrist, and watched in horror as his blood ran free from his body. Then moving his arm over the other man’s mouth, he let the flow go over his lips and splash upon his tongue. Hoping his employer was swallowing, he gave him as much as he could.

Once he was done, he took a section of the blanket and fashioned a bandage over the wound and waited, and watched in fascination as the man’s face began to heal slowly, but surely.

Scared, he moved quickly from the door, causing minimal light to enter, pulling himself onto the seat, and snapping the reins for the horses to move in the same direction the crazed man took.

After a while of riding in silence, Rose needed to find a place to relieve herself. The feeling was strong enough that she knew she would have to speak with him.

“My lord, I need to uh…”

How did a lady say she needed to use the shrubbery? “You need to what, Rose?”

“I need to relieve myself,” she said with no shame.

“We have to move quickly. We will not be stopping for your frivolity.”

Frivolity? It was not a luxury. She had to relieve herself.

“Nigel, I need to find a place to urinate, or I will do so upon your saddle. So you may either stop and let me, or you can wear my bodily fluids on your breeches!”

She saw the color leech slowly from his face, and he stopped mid-ride. He then helped her down from the beast and pulled his pistol from his breast pocket.

“You do not need that, my lord.”

“Either relieve yourself or place yourself back upon the horse.”

Flipping around and looking for a substantial plant with coverage, she finally found one. She was in the process of pulling her skirts up as she noticed Nigel staring at her.

  “Can you not turn around?”

“Nay I cannot turn around. You may try to find a way to escape.”

“Nigel, I have my skirts around my waist. I don’t believe I can run in such a shameful state.” Watching the man’s jaw firm, she just hoped she cost them enough time for William’s driver to make up the distance.

Crouching down, she eased herself. To distract him from her goings, she asked, “Why me, Nigel? I am quite sure a man of your stature and nature could have any young lady of the ton.”

Watching him hesitate, she was ready to ask once again when he shrugged his shoulders. “My father is pressuring me to wed and reproduce. You seem amiable.”

When she gave him a look of disbelief, he reddened under her gaze and went on. “I am not quite what you would call a man of prowess. I may as well tell you, since you will be my wife, and you will have to understand my way of living. When we wed we will only have sexual relations to reproduce. You will stay in a room of your own, and I shall have lovers of my own. You, of course, will not.”

To extend their conversation, she gaped at him. “You will take mistresses?”

His face reddened even further. “Not mistresses exactly. I will have lovers, which is all you need to understand.”

She felt confused for the moment before understanding struck her. As a child, she read a book on Rome and trysts between men and other men, the sinful coupling of those who are of the same sex.

“You mean you will have male companionship?”

After he dropped his gun slightly, Rose stood and righted her skirts. She knew she needed to further the conversation, to perhaps gain his confidence.

“Nigel, do you have sexual desires for those who are of your same sex?”

She watched as he firmed his jaw. “I have always had those feelings. My father knows it, and that is why he pushed me to marry this season, for if I do not, he will let me keep the title, for he has no choice otherwise, but he can and will send all funds abroad, and I will have no means to run the estate.”

Feeling sad for the man, she stood and walked over to his side. She grasped his shoulders and brought him to her arms for a hug. He stood stiffly within her arms for a moment and then returned her affection. She subsequently felt the tears soak through her muslin at her shoulder.

She had to ask him, “Are you in love with another man, my lord?” His shoulders began to shake, and Rose had her answer.

“My lord, it is all right. I understand your plight. I, too, am in love with a man whom my parents will potentially rebuff. He has been a friend of the family for ages and is seen as a filial figure in my life. He was, what I thought at the time, cruel, and rejected my childhood love, and crushed my heart. However, he has found his way to see me as a woman and a secure wife, while I was staying in London for the season.”

He pulled away from her long enough to shake his head and smile a bit. “Rose. You surprise me. I thought you another empty-headed woman of the ton, but you are not, are you? Now I feel guilt for having to still continue upon my course. Believe me when I tell you, I shall be the best of husbands. I will not make demands upon your person until we must produce an heir, and even then I shall be gentle, and you may take a lover after we have an heir.”

  “Nigel, please…”

Lifting his gun toward her, he stated, “We must move quickly, night is coming upon us, and we have much ground to cover before we stop for sleep.”

Hearing that the moon was about to replace the sun, she went with him willingly. William would be upon them shortly, just as soon as night came.

“I must warn you, my lord, that his grace Edington will not stand for this. He will find us quickly, and you have to know he is no manner of any normal man you have made an acquaintance with.”

  * * * *

William felt the sun go down over the horizon and the moon rise. As
soon as his death sleep released him from its grip, he sat up immediately and knew Rose had been taken. He heard and felt the commotion earlier in the day. However, he could not claw his way to consciousness. Placing his hand upon his face, he felt a few welts from his meeting with the mid-day sun, but most of them healed.

Rapping on the carriage top, he felt it slow and stop. He materialized quickly outside of the vehicle and spoke with the young man.

“I will leave to fetch my fiancée back, please stay here and tend to the horses.”

He then looked down at the young man’s bandage-covered wrist and noticed a small amount of blood on the fabric. Feeling humbled, he said, “I thank you for the gift of your life force to aid me in healing. I shall make certain you are justly compensated.”

With that statement hanging in the air, William sent out his preternatural senses to find Rose. When he felt their minds connect, he said, Call out to me now!

  William!

He heard her plea and followed to a moving horse. He materialized at the side of the horse and brought it to a standstill.

Gasping, the marquis fell upon the ground and tried to struggle away. William felt his eyes change to the color of hellfire, and his fangs extend. The monster within wanted to kill the man who had dared to hurt his woman. It was dark yet, but his eyes were as clear as any burning flame.

  “William, William. Please.”

Rose struggled to the ground and blocked the marquis from him. Moving her away carefully with a thought, he came to the other man’s side in seconds.

“What manner of a creature are you?” the marquis screamed out.

Watching in pleasure as the man pissed his breeches, William lifted him bodily by the throat.
