“You have tortured me enough, and I need relief.” He held her steady and propelled himself up into her. His arms flexed and he found his rhythm.

“Ah.” A noise escaped her throat as his cock rubbed against her in the exact right way. He coaxed her desire until it began to consume every part of her, causing her body to go weak.

“Someone is enjoying this.” He pulled her down to his chest, took hold of her ass and drove into her.

She met his every movement and hid her face in his neck. His cologne intermingled with their two scents, causing her to throb. “Mike.” She dug her nails into her his shoulder, trying to ground herself, hold onto any reality in the midst of this surreal, exquisite experience.

“So good.” His pounding morphed into smooth strokes as he turned them to their sides, managing to stay inside her.

She hooked her leg around his waist, relishing in the way he kept her teetering on the edge of euphoria, prolonging the inevitable.

He reached between them, rubbing his palm over her breasts.

Shivers dispersed through her body, focusing on her center. She arched her back “Mike.” Her end began to build, that distinctive stomach tightening, the need that had to be satiated.

“I want you to come now.” He gave her nipple a light pinch.

Her heart sped up preparing itself and her body for the ultimate exertion. She couldn’t believe she was ready for a second orgasm this soon, but she had to have it.

  “Come with me.”

“Next time you come, I’ll be there with you.” He slithered his hand down between them. “I already tasted your climax, now I want to watch as you come.”

His words served to both fuel her closer, and make her more than aware of what he was able to do to her. She bit her lip and shut her eyes. “I can’t.” She didn’t think she could come on command.

“Look at me.” His fingers stopped right before they reached her clit.

She forced herself to open her eyes. “Mike.” She attempted to contort her body to get his fingers to her goal.

“I want you to look right at me as your orgasm hits.”

She held her breath, tensing her muscles to try to do what he demanded.

“We are beyond modesty.” He rubbed her. “You have an amazing clit.”

“God.” She bucked against him, focused on his eyes. They seemed to sparkle along with the lights in her room.

“So responsive. Is it always like that or is it just with me?” He treated her to a series of deep thrusts.

She shook her head. She never reacted to a man like this and never would again. It was always Mike, she now knew it would always be Mike. Her release was upon her, almost tangible enough for her to touch it.

“You’re there.” He moved his face closer to hers. “You’re so swollen you’re going to burst.”

“I’m going to come.” Her body went rigid, tightening in preparation for the explosion.

“Where are you going to come?” He brushed his lips against hers. “Tell me.”

Her breath caught, she forced herself to swallow. “On your cock.”

“Don’t ever forget that.” He pressed his palm into her.

  “Oh.” It was so close.

“Now.” He said the word right into her open mouth.

At last, her body complied, pushed passed the barrier she had, and she succumbed to that all-consuming rapture.

“I can feel you pulsing.” He stared at her, never allowing her to break eye contact.

She bucked and writhed as she rode out her climax, her body bathed in satisfaction.

The waves diminished, leaving her loose, but as if she were insatiable she continued to roll her hips with his every thrust. She kept hold of his shoulders and turned to her back.

“You do want me.” His mouth found hers, and he moved on top of her.

Nothing mattered anymore but being with him, not what happened a lifetime ago, not even what happened last night. Too bad it took her this long to realize. She nodded, partially in defeat. “Yes I do, Michael.”

  Chapter Fourteen

Margaret called him Michael. The first day he tutored her she showed up, crossed her arms and said his name as if some bitter taste invaded the back of her throat. Afterward she used the syllables in his full name as bricks to build up the wall around her. Strange how those memories had eluded him, and returned as clear as if they were on his big screen back home once all the pieces lined up.

Throughout the years a few people called him Michael, but only when Riley said his name did he get a twinge, and now knowing her true identity, he knew why.

This time, she breathed his name as she came down off her second orgasm of the night and he almost lost everything he tried to control. After all they had gone through, his last bit of composure was fading anyway. Then she took his face between her hands and returned the kisses he had been bestowing upon her.

He opened his mouth, held her and increased his movements.

“Feel good?” She wiped his bangs off to one side.

Good? Magnificent would have been more the word. Her body fit him better than his custom tailored suits. He responded with a series of hard thrusts.

“It’s your turn now.” She wrapped her legs around his waist.

Her slick opening made it easy for him to penetrate her deeper, but even after two orgasms she was tight enough to offer him plenty of sensation. She could take every inch of him without a flinch. In fact, she welcomed his invasion and responded with a hunger that matched his own.

“Do you want me to come?”

She twisted and curled her body, ensuring he made the most of each movement. “Are you asking permission?”

The night before flashed through his mind. She owned his erection, he was nothing more than her plaything. Up until the moment she stood and walked out, her torment was damn hot. She allowed him to give up some responsibility, experience a strange freedom by following her rules.

He even denied himself his own release until he was banging into her body, and only after he ensured she was taken care of. His balls tightened.

  “Do I need it?”

She took his hand and placed it over her breast. “Does Mike want to come?” Her voice raised an octave and goaded him on. “Or does he need to come?”

She fell right into her role, once more proving how she matched him. He fingered her hard nipple, proof of her own continuing arousal. “I want to.”

“Then it’s not time.” She pressed her hips down to the bed, tightening her legs around him.

“Shit.” Her position restricted him, caused his strokes to become shallow. It wasn’t nearly enough.

“Now do you need to come?” She moaned.

He shook his head, wanting to take this further but unable to speak for fear he would climax.

“Then you need to slow down, maybe you should stop.”

What was she asking? “Riley.” Her request only made his need to shove himself into her increase. He tried to push himself into her, but she held her legs fast against him. Her teasing produced the desired result.

  “I need to come.”

  “I don’t believe you.”

His end rushed at him, and he panted as he struggled to achieve relief.

“Stop, Mike!” She arched her back and clenched her inner muscles.

He instantly complied. If he moved one inch in the wrong direction he would slip out of her. This time he wouldn’t be denied, or even worse, destroyed.

“God.” His cock jerked and he inhaled. No way he would come like this.

“Kiss me.” She pursed her lips at him.

He dipped his head down and gave her a light kiss.

  She sucked his tongue. “Um.”

“Give me a little.” His body became icy hot.

“Just a bit.” She loosened her legs the smallest amount possible.

He exhaled at gaining an inch or two back. “I need to come.” His cock seemed to lengthen, his balls hung heavy.

>   “Don’t move.” She put her finger over his mouth.

“Riley.” Fuck, he was going to let go. This was more agony than yesterday and he never wanted a woman more. His entire body shook in an attempt to let her do this, let him do this.

  “I need to come.”

“Is that a demand?” She raised her hips, giving him another inch.

He swallowed, but nothing would moisten his dry mouth. “Please.”

“Make love to me, Michael.” Her legs fell off to his sides.

“Riley.” He didn’t have time to process her words. He took her offering, burying himself inside her and assailing her body with his own. Any thoughts of control left him, being replaced by his climb into that place where nothing mattered but the two of them.

She lifted her knees. “Come on, Mike.”

“I have to.” He couldn’t hold back, the pressure built.

“Yes.” She spread her legs further apart, giving him complete access.

His end crashed over him, a warm surge running through his body, down his cock in pulsing gratification. “I’m there!” He stiffened as his body put all it’s effort into his release. The room moved with him, making him dizzy. He could almost float away. He and Riley or Margaret with nothing to bother them, not even a past.

  “Oh.” She twisted beneath him.

“Riley.” Yes, he promised they would come together, and somehow he fulfilled his prophecy. “Now, baby.” He found his strength to bear down on her, give her anything he had left to achieve her end.

“I’m with you.” She held onto him, and let her body take her the rest of the way.

“Oh, yeah.” He didn’t move, only made sure to stay inside her and concentrate on the way she quivered around him.

He hung his head and caught his breath. What would happen now? He didn’t envision this evening with anything other than the present in mind. With her, he was able to do and say what he wanted, push the limits and then simply kiss her. There was a deeper connection.

He glanced over at her. She lay there with her eyes closed, muscles relaxed, a slight smile on her face. What was she thinking? He had no plan, no control, nothing, and all he wanted to do was lie down next to her and start all over again.

She pulled him down for a kiss, scratching her nails through his hair.

He didn’t plan beyond this night. Hell, he didn’t even plan on making love to her. He didn’t know if this was all real, didn’t know how long she could keep up her front, or if she ever planned on telling him.

He returned her kiss and went to push himself up.

“Mike.” She stopped him with a hug.

Yes, they were lying naked in bed together with him still inside her, but it was the hug.

Sometimes the simplest gestures spoke the loudest. The way she held him, flattening her cheek to his chest and putting both her palms on his back, yelled at him to pay attention to his own heart, like he should have done years ago.

He pressed his lips to the side of her head. “Stay here, I’ll be right back.” He made sure to keep hold of the condom, pulled out of her, and stood.

He braced himself on the footboard of her bed, his legs didn’t want to hold him, they wanted to give up and lay back down with her. He glanced behind him over at her.

“Mike?” She pulled up the sheet.

For once, no plan was necessary. He knew what he wanted, and it needed to start with the truth from both of them.

  “I’ll be right back.”

  Chapter Fifteen

Somehow in the course of only a couple of hours everything in Riley’s life changed. They walked into this bedroom two people each in their own worlds with their own agendas, and now he was a part of her. She wasn’t sure if the sentiment was reciprocal.

This wasn’t a high school crush, it had become grander and bigger and could have been perfect, but she cheated at the game.

She watched him walk away, taking in his outline, the twinkle lights backlighting him and making him seem like an angel. If nothing else, she would always have making love to him.

He left the room, leaving her alone, mirroring how she would feel when he got on a plane tomorrow.

Water running and the pound of footsteps were foreign noises for someone used to being alone the majority of the time, but she sat up, clutching the sheet to her chest at the sound of her front door being opened and closed.

Every muscle in her body seized.

“He left.” Though that was exactly what she deserved, she didn’t expect it. Of course, she hadn’t expected any of this.

Mouth half open, she stared straight ahead for what seemed like hours, but only a minute or two later, the growing shadow of a form in her bedroom doorway, indicated he had stayed.

She laid back down, the bile in her throat ebbing.

“We left the door completely unlocked.” The bed dipped with his return.

“The door?” The blast of air from him lifting the sheet cooled her, and she took a breath.

“Yes. It’s okay, it’s locked now.” He scooped her into his arms. “Come here.”

He checked the door. She usually checked the door, more than once, but it was different when a man did it. Now it became an impenetrable force.

She gave in to her own fantasy, wrapping one arm around him and resting her head on his chest. She never shared her bed. One night of this might be good for her. Only one night, and tomorrow she would tell him and watch him really leave, but she would have closure.

“Say something.” He pulled the covers up over them.

“What time do you leave tomorrow?” She clenched her teeth together to not let out any more words that sounded as desperate as those.

“Yeah, about that.” He sat up.

She shook her head. Well, she wouldn’t have her night of being a girl with him holding her. Right now he would tell her he needed to head to the airport to catch the first plane out. Technically, it was tomorrow anyway. She went to push herself away.

He caught her wrist. “Look at me.”

In the darkened room she could only make out the outline of his face, and chose to focus just beyond him.

He leaned in, moving his face closer to hers. “I cancelled my flight.”

She twisted the sheet in her fist and forced herself to wait for an explanation.

“I have to stay. There is a chance I didn’t want to miss.”

“Okay.” She may have received a temporary reprieve, but it wasn’t for the reasons she wanted. She wanted him to stay for her.

“Yeah, I am trying to let things happen.” He hooked his fingers under her chin, tilting her face up. “I think I needed to break the rules.”

“I’m glad for you.” Her cheeks flushed. Eventually she would learn not to believe in him or anyone else. She reinvented herself once. It would be no trouble to do it again. In fact, she should think about a new persona. When this started, her instinct told her to stay away, but she had no willpower with him, no matter the decade.

“Did I happen to tell you what my opportunity is?”

Yes, the time to have a business conversation was after he made love to her. She knew better than to do this to herself.

“Do I need to add this new development to your story?”

“I think that would be up to you.”

She tore the covers off and got out of bed. “Do you want a glass of water?” Not wanting to walk around with nothing on, she rushed to her closet and found another robe. Maybe if she got clothed and watered him, he would take the hint their interlude was over, and leave.

  “Riley.”

She pulled on a black velvet robe, an upgrade to the terry cloth one from before. “What’s the chance you don’t want to miss?” Her own sick mind caused her to ask the question. She spun around trying to find the ties like a dog chasing its own tail.

“Well, first I need to set up another meeting with Carl.” He adjusted the pillow. “I had asked him for some funding, but he didn’t see the potential. I want
to try. That’s why I didn’t want you with me at that meeting.”

She found the ties but didn’t move, only stared at him.

He put his hands behind his head. “I did not want my need of fluid funds to end up in my interview.”

His answer to her question made sense, but it didn’t make it better. “You could have just asked me not to write about it.”

“Maybe I didn’t want you to know.” His voice lowered.

She shrugged her shoulders. Whatever the reason, he wasn’t staying for her.

“Well, I’m sure if you call, he’ll see you again.”

  “I hate a missed opportunity.”

She nodded. Their opportunity left the minute she lied.

“Yeah, it all stemmed from something that happened to me in high school.” He ran his fingers through his hair. “Isn’t it weird how something that took place so long ago can affect you even now?”

She dropped the ties at his acknowledging that time, even if he didn’t know what he was saying. “They say it’s an impressionable time of one’s life.”

“I missed my chance with this girl in high school.” He crossed his legs.

She froze. In the movie of her own life, this is where she would be beat up or sucked away, and in her case the audience would cheer.

“I knew I messed up, and tried in my own way to tell her, but she never responded.”

Strange how long a second could last. For one second she thought, or dreamed, he referred to her. In the next, she realized it wasn’t. He never said he was sorry, never tried to contact her after he tossed her aside.

“I’m sure almost everyone who went to high school has that story to tell.”

“You know it was weird. We had something, we really did and we both knew it. I was stupid and flaked on her. She never spoke to me again. I’ve thought about her a lot through the years.” He leaned forward and lowered his arms.

She wrapped her arms around herself. This man apparently had some sickness where he embarrassed women and walked away.

“You do realize you are speaking about another woman after you just had sex with me.” At least this gave her the perfect excuse to kick him out.
