This book is number THIRTEEN. So much has happened since embarking on my writing career. When I wrote what turned out to be book number one, I had no idea it was even going to turn into anything and now, I can’t imagine a life that didn’t allow me to create characters for a living. Four years have flown by and this year in particular has already resulted in three works. This year has already been incredible. I am so blessed!

Even with everything that has happened to lead to right here and now, I can truly say that I am incredibly blessed. Everything happens for a reason and I feel as though I am exactly where I am meant to be.

I started writing this book with the ending in mind. I didn’t know Desiree’s journey, but I knew it would end in a choice because life is all about choices. What happens in our lives is a result of a series of choices that we either make or allow others to make around us. As children, we have less of a choice, but as adults, the choices we make define and cultivate who we are as individuals. I am proud of the woman I am. I am stronger because of my trials and tribulations and I am appreciative because of my strength and wisdom that those hard times provided. When I look back on the last couple of years of my life, it is so clear that every single thing happened to lead me to this point in my life. It was all for a reason. Every choice, every decision, everything we allow in our lives shapes who we are, what we are and where we are going. And I get overwhelmed with emotion when I think about how God has truly blessed me and my life. So first and foremost, I must thank God for everything.

Second, I want to give a heartfelt THANK YOU to every single reader! To every single person who has ever picked up a Danielle Allen novel, thank you from the bottom of my heart. I am so blessed to be able to make up characters and scenarios and write stories that mean something to me. I wouldn’t be able to do what I do for a living if you weren’t purchasing my novels and supporting me so THANK YOU. I will be forever grateful for your love and support. It means the world to me.

Third, family and friends who have supported my career, THANK YOU! It’s risky to strike out on your own, but it was a lot easier with the love and support of each and every one of you. I am very blessed and I love you very much.

Fourth, author and blogger friends who have supported my work, shared my work, and reviewed my work, THANK YOU! The support within the indie community is so beautiful and the friendships created are truly a beautiful thing.

Last but not least, to my friends who are dating or will date again, stay strong! It’s a jungle out there, but not every date is a disaster. And while Desiree is a heterosexual woman so her interactions were with the men in her area, please understand that women can be dating disasters, too. I’m hoping everyone stops playing games and regardless of who you are and who you want, you get the love you deserve.

  XOXO
