  B. QUEEN + ...

Since Freddie’s death in 1991, Brian and Roger (and occasionally John) have collaborated with other musicians, or commissioned remixes of their songs, with the intent of releasing them as singles. More often than not the results have been of a questionable nature, but the desired effects were often achieved: a wider exposure to an audience that otherwise wouldn’t have been aware of Queen’s songs, plus the placement of the band back in the charts. The following singles are the major singles (not promotional only) that have been credited as “Queen +”.

  C. SOLO

Solo singles round out the section: Roger’s singles were distributed by EMI until ‘Strange Frontier’ (all his UK singles with The Cross were also distributed by EMI), with subsequent releases starting with ‘Nazis 1994’ distributed by Parlophone. His sole US single release on Elektra was ‘Let’s Get Crazy’, with the remaining singles distributed by Capitol. EMI in the UK and Capitol in the US distributed Brian’s first single, ‘Star Fleet’; Parlophone distributed subsequent UK releases, with his few US singles distributed by Hollywood. Freddie’s single releases become a little complex. ‘Love Kills’ through ‘Love Me Like There’s No Tomorrow’ were distributed by CBS in the UK and Columbia in the US; ‘Time’ was distributed by EMI; ‘The Great Pretender’, ‘In My Defence’ and subsequent singles were distributed by Parlophone, and ‘Barcelona’ (both 1987 and 1992 releases), ‘The Golden Boy’ and ‘How Can I Go On’ were all distributed by Polydor. Any US singles from 1991 onwards were distributed by Hollywood.
