Jaxon’s eyes caught his. “Kel you’re so beautiful,” he murmured reaching out to caress the olive skin of his chest. There was a sprinkling of hair on his chest that faintly arched downward. Pure-bred Barrians ranged from no body hair to very little. They didn’t need the extra covering on the planet in most sectors, he’d been told. He ran his fingers through the short dark strands. They were fine like sand, yet not grainy.

“I love the way your skin feels,” Jaxon murmured. He kissed Kel’s shoulder before being urged back. He splayed his legs wider and his erection curved toward his stomach. He stroked it as he watched Kel grab his bag and open it.

“Getting the party started without me?” Kel teased.

“Just warming it up for you,” he said with a grin.

Kel flipped the cap of the lube and brushed Jaxon’s fingers aside. “You’re so thoughtful.” He lowered his head to lick over the purpled head of Jaxon’s cock before dragging his tongue tip slowly around the crown.

Jaxon groaned and his hips came up off the couch. “Kel,” he said breathlessly. His hips began to pump up and down fucking Kel’s mouth slowly. He relished the moist heat that surrounded his flesh. He pushed his fingers into Kel’s hair and tugged as he thrust a little deeper. “Oh fuck.”

“Put your feet on the edge of the couch,” Kel ordered.

Jaxon did and a moment later his lashes fluttered up as cool lube kissed the pucker of his anus. Kel was looking at him, his eyes dark with hunger. Kel’s head sank down, lips stretching over hard flesh and he groaned as his flesh disappeared. “Watching you suck my cock is so arousing.” He liked the contrast of his dark skin peeking out from between Kel’s lighter lips.

“Mmm.” Kel licked down his shaft as he pushed a finger into Jax’s ass.

Jaxon groaned and pumped his hips as the pleasure continued to assault him. Kel’s wet mouth was whipping him into a frenzy that never felt so good. He felt the coolness of more lube as he closed his eyes again. Then, Kel’s finger penetrated him again, thrust, retreated and returned to drive deeper into him.

He hissed as bliss licked at him, turned his blood to fast-flowing electricity in his veins. He felt his power flared to life inside him and clamped down on it. The hard thrust into his ass had his grip loosening.

“Oh, God!” he cried out as Kel took him to the back of his throat. Trembling he fought the urge to release energy. “Kel.”

Kel licked down his shaft, teased one orb and then the other until Jaxon was writhing, hands tightly clenched on the cushions. He wanted to scream. His balls were tight and ready to blow, and his cock throbbed. He couldn’t take it. He was going to come any moment.

Kel withdrew his fingers and something round slid into him. Jaxon gasped, eyes jerking open. He groaned as Kel worked the toy into him one bead at a time. The beads grew rounder, bigger with each successive one.

“Oh fuck, I can’t take it,” he cried.

Kel lashed the head of Jaxon’s cock. “Yes, you can.” Kel pushed the toy home and drew it slowly back. He lowered his head and sucked the hard length of Jaxon’s cock.

Jaxon groaned and electricity coursed over Kel’s skin. He mewled as the toy slid in and out of him and his lover’s mouth made masterful love to him. “Fuck!”

Kel fucked the toy in and out of him, the fire of lust becoming a conflagration that threatened to turn his bones to ash. He moved his hips in time to the toy thrusting inside him as his heart raced out of control and he reached for release.

“Kel, you’re torturing me. Damn it. Make me come,” he begged. “Please, I can’t stand it.”

  * * * *

Kel lashed at the purpled head one more time. He knew Jaxon would come in his mouth any second. His body was tight, he was trembling, and electricity was playing over his skin caressingly. That was new and it pushed his control, but he refused to let go yet. He drew the toy out a couple of balls and pushed it back harder.

And Jaxon’s hips bucked. He was screaming as his orgasm took possession of him. Kel smiled tightly as he withdrew the toy. He gave Jaxon only moments to come down. In that time he opened his jeans before pulling him to his feet. His own need rode him hard now.

Kel sat down and pulled Jaxon onto his lap. “Take me, Jax.”

Jaxon willingly slid down on the thick sword that penetrated him with ease. “You feel so good, baby.”

Kel griped his hips and thrust up claiming Jaxon in a single stroke. Jaxon squeezed his inner muscles tight and they both groaned. “Jax. I need you now.”

Jaxon didn’t argue. He put both hands on the back of the couch and began to pump up and down slowly. Kel held him still for a few hard strokes and Jaxon dropped his head for a kiss.

Jaxon braced his hands on the couch and moved in a steady rhythm up and down. The slow building burn spread turning into a flash fire.

Kel groaned. “That’s it, baby. Drive your man fucking crazy with that sweet tight ass.”

Jaxon tipped his head back and began to move faster. Kel gripped his hips and thrust up. Jaxon groaned. The slide of his cock in and out of the tight little hole was driving him insane. Jaxon’s ass gripped him like the tightest glove and static electricity flowed along his cock in a sensual dance, made his skin tingle. It licked over his dick head and wrapped around the shaft. The sensation was incredible.

Jaxon stroked his hands down Kel’s chest and he close to kiss his neck as he slowly lifted and lowered onto him. “You feel incredible,” he whispered, and the warmth of his breath brushed Kel’s ear. “No one’s ever made me feel like you do.”

“How is that?” he rasped out. He didn’t know what it was about Jax. He was one of the two best lover he ever had, and the only other man to ever get his hooks deep enough into him that he’d do anything for him.

“Like I’m on fire from the inside out.” He nipped Kel’s earlobe making him grin.

Kel thrust up, his hunger starting to spiral out of control. The pleasure was already too much, had him in its thrall and the gentle kiss Jaxon played along the side of his neck pushed him too far. He pounded the tight ass, and Jaxon moved with him calling his name softly.

“Oh, God!” Jaxon let out a harsh cry and his lips brushed Kel’s neck. They burned his skin, sent shivers of static cascading through his chest.

His breath stalled, his hips jerked sending him deep into the confines of Jaxon’s ass. His blood felt as if it were burning in his veins and beads of sweat popped on his brow. He struggled to get air into his lungs, but not so much as a molecule moved.

Jaxon collapsed against him lips at his throat and an electric shock jolted him. His breathing began again, ragged and fast. It was like a scream.

“I needed you so bad,” Jaxon murmured against Kel’s shoulder long seconds later.

Kel stroked the back of Jax’s head gently. “I needed you too.” More than he’d known. He felt sated, and oddly electrified.

Jaxon started awake fifteen minutes later. He was in Kel’s arms as they lay on the couch naked. Kel groaned from beneath him and Jax climbed off of him and glanced around the room for the handset.

He glanced at the caller ID. “It’s your brother-in-law,” he said, throwing Kel a look before connection. “Hello?”

  “Hey, Jaxon,” Dade said.

“What’s up?” He watched Kel’s ass as he strode from the room.

“I’m just calling to make sure you’re okay. Are you staying alone tonight?”

“Yeah.” Kel couldn’t stay as much as he wanted him too. People would talk plenty more than they already did.

“Okay, well, you have two options,” Dade said. “I’ll come over there and stay with you or you can go to your parents. I don’t want you alone.”

“Why? What did they find at the scene that’s got your boxers in a bunch?” He bit the inside of his cheek, nerves suddenly gripping him.

“It’s more like what I didn’t find,” he admitted. “Nothing. No trace of an attack except you.”

He ran a hand over his hair. “Well, what were you hoping to find?”

“Something, Jaxon,” he said calmly. “Fact is, whoever did this doesn’t want anything found. They don’t want anyone to know who they are.”

“True. I mean, I didn’t hear a sound, just static.”

“I don’t understand why they didn’t put a bullet in your head.”

“Maybe they thought the bullet hit my heart, Dade,” he said his face pulling into lines of aggravation.

“You’re probably right,” he said. “I’ll be in touch, but in the meantime, I don’t want you staying alone.”

“I won’t be alone, so you don’t have to come over or anything.”

“I’ll check with you tomorrow then,”

“You can’t stay alone and if you won’t let Dade or one of the deputies come over, I’m staying,” Kel told him.

Jaxon turned to face him. “I’ll be okay,” he said insistently. “My neighbors—”

“I’m not leaving you,” Kel told him evenly. “Shall I heat up dinner?”

“Kel, people are going to talk,” he said, following Kel into the kitchen a second later.

“Until the end of time,” he answered. “Besides, you said you wanted the exclusive, and I’m giving it to you.”

“You know I can’t come out,” he snapped. “So if you can’t commit to me because of that, then fine. Leave and stay away from me.” Kel faced him while the soup heated. “Sweets look, you’re going to be in the hot seat, no matter what here, so let’s take one front of attack off the table. Show the public what you are. Let them see you with me and let them see you not being afraid of what they think.”

“Kel don’t ask me to put my private life out there yet,” Jaxon begged. “Please, go. I’ll clean up the mess.”

Kel stared at him jaw set in lines of anger, but the pain in his eyes is what cut Jaxon across the heart. Kel shook his head and then strode past Jaxon. “Fine.”

“Kel,” he hurried after him. “Be mad at me just don’t go fuck someone else.”

Kel chuckled coldly as he grabbed his shirt and pulled it on. He put on his boots which he’d taken off before they’d fallen asleep.

Jaxon watched hating he’d been the one to cause his lover to hold himself with such stiffness. He could feel the cold coming off him in waves in wanted to fix it, but he knew there was nothing he could do right now.

He was afraid the elders would kill him if the competition didn’t. They would take one look at them and know Kel was the dominant one. He almost hung on Kel like a puppy plopped at its master’s feet.

“I’m sorry, Kel.” Kel didn’t reply and he wondered if he’d heard him.

Kel stormed from the apartment without a look back or a word. He just closed the door softly behind him. Jaxon leaned against it and hurt caused his stomach to spasm. Electricity coursed down his fingers and shot into the air leaving scorch marks on the ceiling.

Jaxon drew in a deep breath and let it out forcing himself to calm down as he locked the door and went back into the kitchen to clean up and have his soup.

  Chapter Seven

“I don’t understand why he’s not dead.” One man watched the other pace, the strands of his dark brown hair messed from frustrated fingers. His companion stopped in the office cast in shadows by the dim lamp light.

“The men did their jobs,” Daniel’s killer said. “After our talk with Tom this afternoon, I wonder if Daniel’s killer didn’t do us a favor. Daniel is one of the few radicals in the group that don’t understand that calling in the feds to thwart the Barrian invasion isn’t going to help any of us.”

“I know that,” Jarvis Carson said. “And honestly, it’s the last thing I really want.” He shook his head as he stood in front of the bookcase loaded with books on law. “We might not have a choice though. The only way to stop those pure-breds may be to have them removed from our town. I’m not prepared to allow them to inundate us with the full flood of their culture.”

“I don’t want that either,” he said.

Jarvis sighed deeply. “Any government that allows the police to execute people without a trial can’t be allowed to come into being. They’ll turn this into a police state. Survival of the fittest. And women, they’ll be nothing but fuck toys.”

“I don’t see that in the culture,” his companion said, perching on the edge of Jarvis’s desk. “Alexa will be one of the women who have power. She’s strong, so is Angela Rimes.”

“Then, there are those damned cats. I can’t stand those abominations.”

“The town is small,” the killer said. “But it’s big enough for them to do what they do mostly anyway. Keep to themselves. We can give them that section of town. Hell, we can give the pure-bloods the northern section and we can keep the rest. They can have their world and we can have ours.”

“It won’t work,” Jarvis said quietly. “You know eventually we’ll be too old to fight and our kids will have to deal with that shit. Let’s do it now. I want them gone or under our rules, the American constitution.”

“Then, I guess we’re going to fight because they aren’t going to go for that,” he said. “I’ve spoken with the elder heading up this little rebellion. He thinks the thing with the relics and your cousin would never have happened to start if we’d been under Barrian law.” His cousin, Beets, an antique dealer, had crossed a line. That couldn’t be allowed to happen. Selling off Barrian power relics could come back to bite them all in the ass one day.

  “My cousin—”

“Face it, Jarvis. He fucked up. He stole and he killed,” the killer cut in. “He did this for no reason other than to line his own pockets. If he had actually called the feds like he said, we wouldn’t be having this conversation, do you know that? They’d have come in here guns blazing and turned our town into an alien quarantine camp. They’d have tested us all and found that we have genes and DNA of an alien race.”

Jarvis combed his fingers through his hair as he grimaced. “We can avoid that by doing things right,” he said. “We can have the pure-bloods only exposed.”

“We could but it probably won’t stop there. So, let’s focus on taking control of this town. You need to win the mayor’s seat and Colm needs to win that council seat. We can’t afford to have them outnumber us on the council because fact is we will have to make concessions if we don’t want them to start a war.”

“They won’t do that,” Jarvis said. “They don’t want to drag the feds into this.”

“They will start a war, so we will have to have a new constitution or bill of rights to satisfy us all.”

“Then, someone needs to get a look at the document Jaxon is drawing up,” Jarvis said.

“Isn’t it here in the office?”

“I’ve checked. He must take it with him or he keeps it on flash drive or something.”

“I’ll find out what’s on it,” the killer said firmly. “My grandfather and some of the others will want a look at it soon to make sure he’s giving them what they want.”

  “Where does your father stand?”

He shook his head. “He’s pretty much like me. He doesn’t want to see those damning changes.”

Kel was brooding as he stared up at Jaxon’s unit. Not because Jax had assumed he go to someone else. There was a time he would have. He admitted he was a stone-cold whore. He liked sex and had refused to commit to anyone partially for that reason.

He was upset that Jax had thrown him out when his life was clearly in danger.

He turned his head at the knock on the truck window. He unlocked the door and his brother Zan climbed in. Zan’s violet eyes were enigmatic as always when they weren’t dancing with mischief or flashing anger at him.

“Figured I’d find you here,” Zan murmured. “How is he?”

Kel shrugged. “He said he loved me.”

“He wants you to stop sleeping around and commit,” Zan guessed. “What about Zier? It’s clear you two have something.”

“Zier is crazy about him,” Kel admitted. “He wants the three of us to be together.”

“That’s fine for now, but you need a woman.”

“I know what I need, Zan, and honestly, it’s not a woman,” he answered coolly. “They’re great, but I’ve never seen myself waking up next to a woman.”

“The Southern elders out number us northern boys,” Zan began quietly. “They’ve ruled here and Southern Barrian men respect strength and straightness.”

  “So?”

“In the south they did have a strong dominant patriarchal caste system that favored the wealthy. Even gay men had to be strong if they weren’t they’d better just blend in. They killed beta and omega gay men who rose to power of any kind if they weren’t willing to kill to hold onto it.”

“Why would they choose Jax?” His stomach clenched as realization started to set in. “They know he’s gay.”

Zan studied him for a moment and then answered, “Jax is more likable, a face the public can believe, but he’s not a dominant. Keyos believes the Southern elders will replace him with Trek once the constitution goes into effect,” Zan told him. “Keyos said the cats are willing to support Jax as long as there is equality for all.”

“The Southern elders won’t promise that?” Now, he knew why Jaxon had been so upset earlier and so dead set against coming out.

“No and if they have their way, Jax will probably die and this town will be torn apart.”

  Chapter Eight

Jaxon woke after only sleeping a few hours, and now he needed a cup of caffeine to get him moving. He was padding to his kitchen when his phone rang. He detoured in the living room to grab it.

Glancing at the caller ID he frowned. His dad. “Hello, Dad.”

“Hi son, I was just calling to make sure you’re okay.”

“I’m fine,” he said. His shoulder was a little sore but—he had to call Kel and ask him about the pills. There wasn’t a label on them telling him how often to take them.
