“Case I am truly sorry to hear that but that weak apology won’t cut it. We can take things one day at a time and deal that way for the sake of Sun.”

“I’m ready to go see him. I just wanted to apologize before anything else though.

I was going to beat him up about the situation since he was being honest. I also didn’t want to keep him from his son a minute longer. When he went in his sister’s room they were laying on the bed watching tv.

“Sun needs some more Pull-Ups. I guess mommy and daddy can go get them.

I would go but he is going be sleep soon so why don’t yall go.”

Case was holding Sun. He was on his way to sleep. The way he held Sun you would have never guessed this was their first meeting. Before you know it, he was sleep. This was like a proud father moment for Case.

Kayna was over there sneaking pictures and shit.

“Case let’s go ahead and go to the store. I’ll drive and we can continue our conversation.”

  “Bet.”

On the way to the store he told me how Dream was cheating and that he would not have wanted her around his son. He even told me about how she kept on saying she didn’t want kids. Fine as Case was if he was my husband we would have filled a house of with them if that’s what he wanted.

I guess her loss was my gain. Case was telling me about how he was going to get this company started. He sounded very enthusiastic and passionate about it. He also kept on talking about how proud he was of Kayna for getting her stuff together.

Instead of going in the store we talked for like an hour in the parking lot. We agreed that we would raise our son together no matter what. Maybe my little hopes and dreams would not be shattered after all.

  Chapter 9 Case

I wanted Dream to leave but not the way she did. I at least expected to do this shit like adults but that’s not how it worked out. Last Friday I after gambling and fucking around and still not any closer to getting Mills money all the shit hit the fan around here.

All she was supposed to be doing was cooking dinner and shit nothing more and nothing less. As usual she had to show her ass in front of company. I was not trying to bring the baby situation up in front of nobody else but it slipped while I was mad.

I had been waiting on the chance to confront her about the abortion instead of it coming out like that.

Fuck it the damage was done. It wasn’t my seed anyway. I hope whoever the nigga that knocked her up made her ass happy and kept her. That was one less headache for me.

I had talked to the people about taking the class so I could get one step closer to my business. When I talked to Kayna I figured I’d kill two birds with one stone and ask her for a small loan. Shit she was good for it. All that money she made when we were running around she banked hers. It didn’t hurt that she had niggas at her beck and call and still could if she chose to kick it with them like that. Right now, that was neither here nor there. I was just trying to pay Mills all this money that I had fucked up. I would really hate to become unbenefited with my nigga.

Everything seemed to be going okay. Shit was looking up.

Now that I had my twin I was going to get Mills this money and hang that shit up. I was getting too old to be messing around anyway.

I had a son that was almost a year old and even though I missed that time I was not going to miss anymore. If I could help it I was not going to miss anytime with Star either. I had let her slip away once but it was not going to be so easy this time.

I looked at my watch. I needed to be getting a move on, mama would be off soon. Star had gone back to the car as I paid for the stuff, she told me I overdid it. I admit I did, I’d picked up a few things for Sun. The thought of being a father excited me and I wanted my boy to have it all.

“Oh, look at this shit here. You had the nerve to be tripping about an abortion and you buying baby stuff. If it isn’t the pot calling the kettle black.”

The sound of Dream’s voice irked me. I was not about to let her fuck up my day so I grabbed the bags and told her, “Move the fuck on! You are going get your divorce papers sooner than later!”

I walked off and left her standing looking stupid at the register. She put the phone up to her ear like she was talking to someone.

“Play these little games all you want Case. You in here spending money and shit you better have my man Mills’ money or that’s your ass.”

I know I didn’t hear what I think I just heard. I was not about to do this shit at Walmart but it was on.

I kept going to my truck where Star waited for me. I didn’t want Dream to know how much she had pissed me off. She had just signed her and that bitch Mills deaths certificates. I was killing them both.

I was going do this family time with my son but I was going handle this. This was to be my last thing I do before I went legit.

Hopping in the truck I kept my calm demeanor even though I was thirty-eight hot. I didn’t want to alarm Star of anything since we were getting along. I did not want to give her any reason to take my son away.

I pulled out the parking lot but not before checking the gas. All this ripping and running and my fuel was on low. A nigga was gassed up but the truck wasn’t.

“I got to stop by 7-11 before we go pick up Sun and get this gas. I hope you don’t mind. Shit either that or I hope you don’t mind walking.”

“You play way too much. Nah handle your business how long does it take to get gas? May as well get it now.”

So I went in the store real quick to pay for the gas and she waited in the car. The line in the store was long as hell as the cashier punched in lottery numbers before the machine shut off. I was growing impatient waiting as there were about three other people in front of me not including the lady holding up the line with the lottery.

Today was one of those days that I wish I had just brought my card to swipe at the pump. Fuck it. I had no choice but to wait.

As I waited I looked out the window to see what Star was doing. It looked like she was on the phone. The next thing I know she came running in the store telling me to come on now.

I didn’t know what the hell she was talking about. I automatically assumed it was something about Sun so I said fuck the gas we could get it later as we stood on the passenger side by the truck.

“Your wife called Kayna talking some stupid shit! What the fuck is going on Case?”

“Everything is good. Chill. You made me come out here and we still aint get the gas. I’m going pay for the gas.”

  “Naw Case let’s just go.”

Ignoring Star, I went back in the store. As I reached for the door I felt the first bullet hit my back. Ignoring my own pain, I heard people yelling and screaming, my instincts told me to get to Star. I thought about her and my son, Sun.

Bullets were raining in the parking lot. That was the last thing I remember before everything went black.

It looks like I’ll be having my way again! I smile for small victories as I sort through my closet to decide what I am going to step out in tonight. My husband Raheem is excited to be expecting his first chi
ld with me. So, happy that he is ready to have a child with his wife he does not know what to do with himself, he finally agreed to get me the truck that I have been bugging him to get since as his wife I am finally giving him a child. Little does he know I am not pregnant. I wouldn’t have a child by his ass if he were the last man on this earth.

The bottom line is I have no problem telling my husband anything that he wants to hear to get what the hell I want. He owes me and his ass is going to pay. The main reason I need this brand-new Range Rover is so I can drive it when I go to job hunting, well that’s what I tell my husband. Who needs a job when you have a man to cater to your every need. I know I damn sure don’t. My day to day existence consists of looking good and being seen. I work for myself when the need suits me. I like to consider myself a boss chick that gets what I want. I don’t give a damn how cliché you may think it is but yes, the ass is fat and the waist is slim. My beauty is the kind that makes the men stop to look and the women stop to hate. I mean why wouldn’t they.

My hair is imported monthly from Brazil and it's always sewed in perfectly by my first cousin Melissa who should be my stylist yet she chooses to punch the clock at her drab ass nine to five. She has so much more potential but that’s a whole notha’ story. Couldn’t be me. Work is such a joke to me. Let me take my statement back. It's not that I won't work I just don’t want to work for anyone in a regular gig. There is more to life than taking orders from someone else all day damn only to go home tired as hell and not live out your own dreams. Being in this less than happy marriage my dreams kind of got put on the backburner to help Raheem achieve his dreams but I am making up fo that now.

You see I’m an aspiring model and actress. I want to be in magazines, videos, and movies. What I don’t want to do is continue busting my ass being on club flyers and simple shit like that. For me to get where I need to be, I’m going to have to get the hell out of Petersburg and out of this fake ass marriage. You may think that I am cold and calculating but everything is like this for a reason. I was not always this way but life has been crazy. Until I get where I want to be I’m just going play my part and roll with shit the way it is but trust me when I tell you, baby, all the nonsense going come to the light and I will have my payback.

After jumping my fat ass into my jeans and struggling to get them over my thick thighs I am more than satisfied with the way they look as I stand in front of the mirror in the closet. Stepping into my four inch heels it was nothing left for me to do but slide on my crop top that would show my tiny waist, revealing my tattoo. Shaking my ass like I was the next best stripper I knew that all eyes would be on me and that’s exactly what I wanted. My ass sat plump in my jeans making every chick who saw me wish she worked out or paid to get a fine body like this. I was blessed with good genetics and the fact that I spent time working out and missing meals helped me have this fine physique. I must look the part of a model and since I look better than the competition it’s a must that I show up flexing.

I want everybody to see how I roll. I live the good life and I want to make sure that bitches don’t forget it. My hair was on point and so was my makeup. After spraying on my signature fragrance, looking in the body length mirror again something was missing.

Right, my cute ass stunna shades. I told you, I had to stunt on these hoes.
