Going Deep
Page 32
Holly licked her lips. “I want it,” she said huskily. “I want to feel you inside me. Every hard scale.”
Holly felt his impatience and couldn’t wait. He positioned himself and worked the first inch inside her wet channel.
“You’re ssso tight, I can barely breathe for the pleasssure,” he hissed, “but I mussst move ssslowly.”
Dammit. He didn’t want to hurt her, but she arched impatiently beneath him, bringing her legs up around his flanks, trying to force him into her sheath farther…faster.
“No. Let me.” He breathed, holding back.
“You can feel that it doesn’t hurt.” Her eyes closed with need, and she compelled him to feel the truth in her words. “Do it,” she cried. “Do it, please!”
Dagon reared back and with one swift movement, plunged his cock all the way into her needy pussy. A cry wrenched from both of them simultaneously, but not of pain…of exquisite pleasure. Had anything ever felt so right?
There was one moment of breathless wonder as they both held that thought, then they moved together. There was not a him or a her…there was a him and a her. They both felt every stroke of his ridged cock, and the pressure where he was seated against her throbbing clit. Was it him or her being held in the tight glove of her pussy’s warmth, and whose cunt swallowed whose prick whole? Each time he rocked his hips and moved out to plunge back in, his balls slapped against her ass, causing almost unbearable pleasure for them both.
Gods, she needed to come because he wasn’t going to last much longer. Dagon lowered his head, sucking and grazing first one nipple, then the other while continually moving in and out, holding onto her hips with his webbed hands. Thankfully, her first sure spasms gripped his cock, hard, letting him know she’d reached the end. She dug her nails into his ass, and came with a force so strong he felt it all the way to his to his root. A drenching wetness flooding from deep inside her, as the answering pulses ramped up at the base of Dagon’s spine.
He came undone. Dagon surged inside of Holly as her laughter took hold and she grasped his sensitive fins, stroking him to completion with the clenching muscles inside her pussy and her magical hands at the same time. His cum churned up his length and exited in long, almost painful spurts. Dagon roared his pleasure, making damn sure that everyone in the house was aware of their consummation.
Their hearts beat together, slowing back to normal at the same pace. He lay on her, and she got that he wanted to move, but sent him the unspoken message that she liked him right where he was. He cuddled down and Holly sighed.
“Well wasn’t that magnificent?” she asked, already aware of the answer. She wiggled under Dagon, reluctant to break their physical connection. “Do you think we should join our company downstairs?” Holly pouted.
Dagon had gone from serpent back to god. He picked up the discarded mirror, and sent her his thoughts. Many things could be done with the mirror.
“Okay,” she agreed breathlessly. “Not for a while.”
Chapter Thirty-Seven
They sauntered downstairs, hand in hand, and… “Dad!” Holly tore herself from Dagon’s embrace and launched herself across the room.
“Dad?” Dagon questioned no one in particular. The party was still in full swing, with visible and invisible revelers everywhere. His new Chosen bawled her eyes out while clinging to an older gentleman, and Dagon got hit with an attack of nerves. He hadn’t realized that he’d be meeting his father-in-law tonight. He dragged his feet toward his bride.
“…so your sister called and told me I had to come. I’m only sorry I missed the ceremony, but there was construction on the highway. I had trouble finding the shopping mall meeting place, and then had to wait for the nuptials to be over before Hux could pick me up on his bike.” Gregory Abelard wiped tears from his daughter’s face as fast as they fell.
It had been years since he’d seen Holly. Dagon wasn’t sure, but a little of the wetness might have come from her dad.
“I’m glad he came to get me, though. I never would have found this place on my own. How is it that you have a house here? Isn’t this some kind of state reservation?”
The older Abelard babbled, but Dagon could commiserate. That was exactly how he felt around Holly too.
“Dad, I’m sure we’ll get to all that, but I want you to meet my husband first.” She tugged on his hand and then rolled her eyes at her siblings. Dagon heard her head-talk with Tess.
What exactly are we going to tell him?
Tess shrugged from across the room. It’s up to us. Marduk told me I can spill it all, as long as I think his brain won’t explode.
Dad’s very practical. I’m sure he’s already noticed things being “acquired” by the invisible guests, and has wondered at all the gigantic males. Not to mention how some of the dignitaries are dressed in robes, and Ereshkigal and Ishtar are probably the two hottest females he’s ever seen. But right now, Dad has to meet my man.
Holly drew Dagon forward and blushingly introduced him. “Dagon, this is my dad, Gregory Abelard. Dad,” Holly said, beaming, “this is my husband.”
Mr. Abelard looked Dagon up and down. “I understand you were instrumental in bringing my daughter back from Chicago.” He stuck out his hand. “I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart, and…” To Dagon’s astonishment, he drew him into a hug. “…welcome to the family.”
Dagon made sure to pat the man’s back carefully while they embraced. At well under six feet tall, Holly’s dad barely tickled his nose with his thick, graying hair, and he didn’t want to break his new father-in-law. “It’s my pleasure, sir,” Dagon said gruffly. Other than Anshar, it had been a long time since he’d had any male relatives. Now that he thought about it, as of today, he had a new brother-in-law as well.
“Huxley?” Holly had tapped into his thoughts, and her delighted voice called to her sibling. The male joined the hug.
It wasn’t long before Tess and Holly became enveloped as well. Marduk stood, smiling like a fool before Dagon saw Emesh push him into the quartet.
Get your hugs, boss man, the summer god chided. If I were as lucky as you, I’d make sure I was in the middle of that love sandwich.
Dagon had only a moment of panic when Mr. Abelard eventually asked what he did for a living. Holly came to his rescue and said he ran a private investigation business out of Plymouth. It was only a partial lie. The PP investigated, just not humans and not on the right side of the law.
As the evening grew late, the king and queen of the Underworld said their goodbyes and departed. The gods who were staying the night instead of heading back to the Overworld wandered back to their rooms, and that included Ishtar-Dinitu, accompanied by Erra, much to the delight of Holly and her sister who had noticed at the same time as Dagon. They all exchanged conspiratorial glances and head winks.
The witches had long since turned in.
The diehards remained on the terrace, all sprawled out on various chairs and chaises, everyone relaxed. Besides Dagon, there was the entire Abelard family, Tess, Holly, Huxley and their dad, Greg. Marduk, Anshar, Lenore, Enlil, and Doctor Dani-Lee were deep in conversation. The invisible ones―including Lahar, Shamash, Absu, Ishkur, Ninurta, Emesh, Enten, Dumuzi, and Kulla―flitted around, eavesdropping. Archie the dog wound agilely in and around everyone, looking for dropped food, as was his job.
Mr. Abelard reached down and scratched the dog absently. “It might be time for some explanations.” Holly’s father took a hefty chug of whatever alcohol he had in his glass. “I’m probably not quite inebriated enough to hear this, but it can’t be any worse than what I’ve been imagining.”
A dimple appeared in Holly’s cheek. “Tell us what you’ve been imagining?”
Mr. Abelard sat to steady himself, looked up at the gods he could see, and around at the table where plates had been disappearing at a steady rate. He contemplated his children’s happy faces.
“Nope, not even going there. I prefer to hear it from you and then sleep on it. If my firs
t grandchild is going to be an alien, so be it.” He downed the rest of his drink.
Dagon laughed, along with Marduk and the others.
“Not aliens, Dad,” Tess finally imparted gently. “Gods.”
Her father blinked at her blankly. “Gods,” he repeated.
“That’s right.”
He was a little pale, and Dagon wanted nothing more than to have Dr. Dani check his heartrate. Holly must have been thinking the same thing. “Are you okay?” she asked, then inclined her head toward Dani-Lee, who moved to stand by her father’s chair.
“Yup, fine. Dandy…you want to come again on the gods thing?”
Between Tess, Holly, and Huxley, they got everything out, starting off with their birth family connections from old Merrymount and why the gods had been there in the first place. They worked their way through acquiring powers, secret communications, bad Underworld dreams, and amulet ceremonies before ending with invisibility.
“So Huxley, you’ve been able to see the nine individuals in the room since the beginning?”
“Yup.” Huxley took a big swig of his drink at that juncture. “They thought I was unique, but it seems Lenore’s mom has the same ability. Now they think it might run sporadically through the families of their descendants.”
“And you, Tess, and Holly. You couldn’t see them until…”
“Until our mates gave us the ability, and even then, they looked kind of see-through. It wasn’t until we had our amulets that we were able to see them in full strength and color.”
Something had clearly just occurred to the older man. “The amulets. Does that mean you’re both gods now?” His voice cracked on the last words.
The two women giggled. “Goddesses, actually.” Tess rubbed her stomach.
“And the little guy will be a god.” Her dad’s eyebrows raised. “Hey.” He suddenly looked perplexed. “Am I going to be able to see my grandson, or will he be invisible?”
Tess looked at Marduk, and Marduk looked to Dagon.
“I guess we don’t know the answer to that,” Dagon said honestly. “Invisibility was a punishment put upon the Blue Hills gods for failure at Merrymount. Therefore I’m assuming that our children will not be so burdened.”
Marduk went one better. “I will petition Nergal and Ereshkigal, whom you met earlier, to see that our son is not cursed. For normal gods and goddesses, invisibility is something that can be turned on and off at will. There should be no need to worry.”
“Thank you,” Mr. Abelard got out before he smiled cheekily. “Just remind me never to play hide and seek with the little guy.”
Epilogue
It had been difficult for the king and queen to get away. The festivities had whipped up into full swing, with everyone having such a good time, but Eresh was anxious to see if the good times for her would continue.
They had said their goodbyes to Marduk and Tess, then to Dagon and his new Chosen, who had only just emerged from their—very loud—love fest. Holly had dragged herself out from under her new husband’s arm long enough to take the queen aside and ask about the empty amulet.
“Do you want it back?” she had questioned. “I’ve got my own now.” The goddess indicated her shoulder, which had been glowing in pleasure since it had filled. She held the clear ampule out to the queen.
“You won’t be needing it, but someone else will,” Ereshkigal answered cryptically, folding Holly’s hand back over the item in question. “With what’s going on in the Underworld, I think the amulet will be better off here. Keep it safe until its purpose becomes clear.” Ereshkigal looked at her husband who nodded his agreement. Nergal had confirmed what she’d seen earlier in Huxley. She had no idea how that would play out, but she was not above tipping the scales.
Holly seemed confused that Eresh had refused the amulet, but did as she was bidden.
“Good-bye and thank you for including us in your party. It’s been a long time since Nergal and I have had this much fun.” The words had been meant as platitudes, but the minute they left the queen’s mouth, she knew the truth of them. She moved away from Holly, who bowed in respect and was startled to be engulfed from behind by her sister.
“Eresh! You have to come see me soon,” Ishtar gushed. “The Overworld can be so good,” she made it sound like a curse, “and sooo boring.”
The Underworld queen got a devilish look in her eyes. “If I’m not mistaken, your boring Overworld interlude may be coming to an end.” She glanced across the room at Erra, whose dark stare had never left the goddess of the dawn.
“Here’s hoping.” Ishtar, with her powers, had always known what her fate would be, just not when. Back when they were both young girls and titillated by the thought of romance, Ish-Din had dared to look into both of their love lives. Her predictions for Eresh had certainly come true, and now it looked like hers might too. Ereshkigal couldn’t be more pleased for her sister.
Nergal approached after saying his goodbyes to Enlil, Anshar, and the feisty Lady Lenore, who―Eresh heard―had implored him to “go fuck the shit out of his wife.” A crude choice of words, but Ereshkigal sure hoped Nergal got the picture…and acted on it. She tugged on Nergal’s arm. Damn. It was past time to go.
“Lady Ishtar.” Nergal took the hint. He inclined his head so they could take their leave
“Brother.” Ishtar made the same regal motion, but must have overheard Anshar’s Chosen, too. “A word to the wise.” Her eyes twinkled. “I’d listen to Lenore if I were you.” She winked and walked away.
“Something I missed?” Eresh questioned as Nergal took her arm, pretending ignorance.
“Not if I can help it.” His eyes were so close to smoking that Ereshkigal thought she might catch on fire. As he wrapped her in his strong embrace and pressed her into his muscled and rapidly hardening body, she felt hope for the first time in thousands of years.
Eresh snuggled as close to Nergal as possible. He whisked them back to hell.
