“Eventually, our two separate bodies will move as one.”

  “Meaning?”

“When we’re apart, you’ll feel what I feel, hear what I hear, and even smell the same things. And it will also be that way for me.”

“For the rest of our lives?”

  “Until one of us dies.”

  I shook my head. “What?”

He continued, “My mother told me that there are ways for us to turn the other’s senses off, but in the beginning, we’ll struggle to figure it out.”

“Wow. What did I get myself into?”

  “Deep, ancient magic.”

Smiling, I returned to slipping my fingers along his big cock. “Well, there’s no looking back now. You’re mine, and I’m yours.”

“Damn right.” He went in for a deeper kiss, taking my breath away and setting my whole body on fire.

“Oh, Aiden.” Craving more, I stroked his balls with one hand and gripped his shaft at the base, needing to feel his cock inside of me, but only able to show him with my hands.

Aiden bucked against the pressure of my soft fingers sliding against his cock. “Fuck.”

“What do you want, baby? I have to make up for everything.”

  “You don’t.”

“Tell me, baby. What do you want?”

“I want your lips around my cock. I want you sucking it down. Hard. I want to spill in your mouth.”

“Your wish is my command.” I tried to roll him over, but it was like pushing against a cement wall.

  He laughed.

Giggling, I hit his chest. “Get on your back.”

“No.” He shoved my pajama bottoms down. “You sucking my cock until I scream is just what I want, my love. But, right now, what I need is that wet pussy.”

Desire twisted through my body. All I could do was spread my legs open for him as his cock jutted out. His masculine scent mingled with the cool air blowing in from the open window. Instantly, my sex went wet and aching.

  He inhaled and groaned.

  “Give it to me, Aiden.”

“Yes, mate.” Groaning, he thrust himself into my warm, wet center. Unable to control myself, I fisted my hands in the comforter beneath me. My whole body trembled. He spread my thighs wider.

“Yes, baby,” I cried. All these sensations crashed down on me—lust and passion, rapture in the purest form, and the drowning feeling of being complete.

As he moved slowly in and out of my pussy, I rocked with him, working that lovely cock deeper and deeper into my moist tunnel. Delicious pressure rose higher within me.

Moaning, I bit my lip, not wanting my sister to hear me downstairs.

“Fuck, I’m so close,” he whispered.

“Oh God, me too.” I rocked into him.

“Cum for me, baby.” He slipped one hand up my thigh and grabbed my hip tightly. He pumped harder and deeper, thrusting circles against my aching clit.

  “Aiden, I’m going to—”

“Yes, baby. Show me.” Aiden thrust with a magical rhythm. I exploded all over him, dripping all over his cock and onto the sheets. Waves of ecstasy poured over my body.

“Aiden!” I tightened my arms around him and moaned loudly in pleasure, not caring if my sister or his pack heard.

Still pumping and groaning, he lifted me into the air. “There you go, baby.”

With one more thrust, he shredded me apart, groaning and spurting hot liquid into me. I could feel it coating my pussy with warmth.

  “Mine!” he roared.

Bliss rippled down to my bones. We shuddered against each other. The ripples ebbed. Calm poured down my skin. We held each other—clothes half on, my pajamas ripped, and his jeans down by his knees.

We didn’t fix each other or move. We just basked in the soothing peace.

“Damn you. Don’t you ever leave me again.” He growled. “Don’t you ever go.”

“I won’t, Aiden. No matter how much this new life scares me. My heart is yours. My body is yours. Everything. It’s all yours.”

“I’ll always be there, protecting you.”

  “I know.”

“And you’ll always be my mate—my Luna.”

“You promise that you’ll teach me everything?”

“I promise.” He kissed my lips.

  “I’m so tired,” I whispered.

  “You didn’t sleep well?”

  “No.”

“Then, get some rest. This week will be busy.”

Yawning, I lay my head on his chest. “I love you, Aiden.”

He wrapped his arms around. “I love you too.”

I was swallowed into darkness by sleep.

  Chapter 22

  Aiden

I stayed in Imani’s bedroom as she went downstairs to talk to her sister. I could hear some of the conversation. It was no surprise that Blaze had remained downstairs with Harper.

Is he truly mated to Imani’s sister? I hope so. That would make everything much easier. Then, one day Imani can tell Harper what is going on.

I walked around my mate’s bedroom, sniffing some of the objects and loving the smell of her.

She’s had some of these things since she was a teenager.

I could smell the youthful scent of her on them.

I caught some more of the conversation downstairs.

Shock coated Harper’s voice. “What do you mean you’re moving in with him?”

  “I’m in love with him.”

“It hasn’t even been a week.”

“I know, but listen. I’m moving in with him—”

“Where the hell does he live?”

“Closer to the mountains. I’ll barely be fifteen minutes away. I will visit all the time and—”

“You’re just going to move out? Just like that? You barely know him.”

Imani cleared her throat. “Trust me. I’m the older one here.”

“Then act like it. Since when do you just run off with some man that you’ve just met?”

“I’m not running off. I’ll still be working at the diner.”

You won’t be. I don’t like other men being able to look at you. And there’s no way you’ll be working while pregnant.

  “This is crazy!” Harper said.

  Blaze spoke, “Can I interrupt?”

Both of the women replied, “No!”

He was smart enough to remain quiet.

I walked over to her bookshelf, picked up a book, and studied the cover. A pale vampire held a busty woman in his arms. Blood dripped from his lips. The woman gazed up at him with passion in her eyes.

  I laughed to myself.

“I’m not letting you leave.” Harper’s voice rose. “He’s clearly got you on drugs or something.”

  “That’s ridiculous. I’m completely sober.”

“Are you, Imani? I should give you a test or something.”

I checked out the other books.

More vampire romance? Where are the werewolves? I see none.

  “Wrong,” Conri grumbled.

Don’t worry. We’ll get her proper books.

I browsed more of the vampire books and realized that they all had the same author.

Grace Moon. That’s an interesting name.

Blocking out Imani and Harper’s conversation, I opened one of the books and read a few pages. The story began with a vampire searching for his love. She’d been killed by his enemy—another powerful vampire. My body hummed in reaction to the words as if each sentence triggered a spell. Conri rippled in discomfort.

  What is that?

I skimmed the pages. All the descriptions of vampires were spot on. Crazier, there were terms in the book that were actually real—moon-cursed, moon-touched, and even fatals. I thought back to something Imani had said earlier.

“I swear, I feel like I’ve read this before. Perhaps, I’m just mixing this all up with my books.”

  “What books?”

“When I was a teenager, I was obsessed with vampire romance.”
<
br />   I closed the book and looked at the back. The author’s picture showed. A black woman smiled. She had long candy-curled hair that hit her shoulders. Her skin was a honey complexion.

Who is this, Grace Moon, and why do her words give me an odd feeling? Is she a witch?

Imani disrupted my thoughts and entered the bedroom. “That was difficult, but it’s all done.”

I turned to her. “When’s the last time you read these books?”

“Wow. Ten years ago. Maybe. Why?”

I looked at the book. “When I read the words, it makes Conri and me uneasy.”

“What?” She walked over and took one of the books from the shelf. “Why?”

“I don’t know. Earlier, you said that you remembered hearing the story of the first vampires from your books.”

“Well, it sounded familiar for sure. And even your. . .vocabulary. Like I remember fatals being a name said a lot in my books. At least I think so.”

“I read it in this one.”

“That’s crazy.” She looked through all the titles, went to the next shelf, and pulled out a book. “This is the first book.”

Uncomfortable for some reason, I ran my fingers through my hair. “Please, read it.”

“From first sight, the moon-touched loved the goddess so much that they never feared the night. . .” Imani looked up. “This is just like the papers that the witch had.”

  “It is.”

She read some more. “But then a love between two witches changed the world. One had skin of bronze. The other had skin of gold.”

“Do you know much about Grace Moon?”

“I went to a book conference about six years ago, and she signed some of my books.” She lowered and pulled them out. “These ten books right here are the Cravings Series.”

  “What was it about?”

“If I remember correctly, it started with these two vampires that were madly in love with each other. The first four books were all about their love story. Then another vampire came along and took the hero’s attention, so the heroine vampire spent the rest of the books trying to kill him. That’s what made me move on to another series.” She picked up several books and put them on the bed. “I read romance for the love, not for all the hate.”

“You didn’t read all of these books?”

“I read books one through five. That fifth book was when all the fighting happened between them. I don’t know why but I just kept buying the other books when they came out.” She shrugged. “I just. . .I couldn’t stop. I had to buy them.”

I raised my eyebrows. “Even though you didn’t want to read them?”

“Exactly. It was the oddest thing.”

“These are spelled.” I picked them up and turned to the author again. “This Grace Moon must be a witch.”

“Oh yeah.” She clapped her hands. “That’s what I meant to say. So I met her at a conference, and she signed my books. At the time, she was pretty much around my age. I thought she would have been older.”

  “Was it during the day?”

“Yes. The whole conference was in Miami. We were outside on the beach. There were tents for the authors, but she definitely was in the sun.”

“Then she may not be a vampire. Some can endure the sun with certain magical objects, but that requires an immensely powerful witch. Most witches despise vampires.”

A knock came. Then the door opened. Harper popped her head inside. “Imani, are you really moving out?”

“Yes. But I’m only getting a few things today.”

Harper shook her head and entered. “I don’t understand.”

“I know.” Imani walked over to her. “But I swear we will see each other all the time. I’ll call twice a day. It won’t be a big deal.”

Blaze stepped inside. “And I’ll be here too.”

“Wow.” Imani placed her hands on her hips. “What are you doing up here?”

Harper waved my question away. “Don’t worry. I asked him to come up here.”

“What?” Imani shook her head. “Why?”

Harper spoke, “I don’t know. It just. . .felt right.”

I turned my attention to Blaze. My Beta damn near drooled over Harper. So close to her, his eyes looked like they would soon be shifting to silver. I set the book down on the bed and walked over to him. “Hey, Blaze. Let’s go out in the hallway for a minute and give them some space.”

  Blaze didn’t hear me.

  “Blaze?” I tapped his shoulder.

  He turned to me. “What?”

“Let’s talk.” I glanced back at Imani. “Pack what you want. Oliver will get everything. Make sure you bring all of the books by Grace Moon. I want Sherwin to look at them.”

  “Okay.”

Blaze walked out to the hallway with me. “What’s wrong?”

  “Are you okay?”

“Of course.” Blaze’s eyes turned silver. “Why?”

“Harper is giving you a reaction.”

  “That’s my mate.”

I let out a long breath. “Listen. I know I lifted the ban, but you can’t just go around trying to bond with every fatal you see. It could be—”

“That’s not what is going on.”

“It is. You thought Imani was your mate.”

“No. Her scent made me react, but I wasn’t willing to fight for her. But I believed something was there. With Harper, I know.” The silver in Blaze’s eyes brightened. “As soon as I caught a whiff of her, my beast went crazy. He keeps screaming, ‘mate’ in my head over and over. He gives me no peace.”

I glanced back at the closed door. “That happened with me when I smelled Imani.”

“See. With Harper, I will fight for her. In fact, I don’t want Zerab around here.”

“Zerab is not interested in Harper—”

“I don’t care.” Blaze’s fangs left his top lip. “No one else will protect her.”

I studied him. “Calm your beast.”

  “No one else.”

  I nodded.

“I’ll stay on her property and make sure none of the witches come by.”

  “Hide.”

“I’ll do my best. I crave her. If she asks me in, I will oblige.”

“If you’re hiding, she won’t ask you in.”

“She knew Zerab was out there.” He glared. “Did he talk to her?”

  “No.”

  “Are you sure?”

“Relax.” I placed my hand on his shoulder. “Breathe, Blaze.”

Blaze slowly inhaled and then exhaled. His eyes shifted back to blue. “I’m relaxed.”

I gave him a silly grin. “Now everything is making sense with the effect Imani was having on you. Harper and she have similar scents, but for me. . .Imani’s scent is stronger.”

“It’s the opposite for me. As soon as I inhaled Harper, I almost shifted and took her away from here.”

  “Crazy,” Conri said.

Hey, you wanted to do the same thing with Imani.

I moved my hand from Blaze’s shoulder. “Well, you can’t kidnap Harper. That’s not how it works with fatals. You must be patient and let them walk into the choice themselves.”

“She got aroused when I hugged her.”

I quirked my brows. “When did you hug her?”

“Downstairs. After Imani left. My mate’s upset that you’re taking her sister away.”

The door opened. Imani had a large satchel over her arm and dragged a suitcase with the other hand.

I took the suitcase from her. “Oliver is taking this.”

“That’s not fair.” She kept her voice down. “He’s not you’re little bitch.”

“Correct,” I whispered. “He’s the pack’s little bitch.”

“That changes now that I’m Luna.”

“It doesn’t.” I gave the bag to Blaze.

  Imani turned to him.

Blaze frowned and gave the bag back to her. “I’m out of this.”

I groaned and took the bag from Imani. “F
ine. We will figure out a way to take this without bothering Master Oliver.”

“Thank you.” Smiling, she walked off.

Harper followed behind her. “You’re going to call me every day, sis. Please.”

“Twice a day,” Imani said. “And we’ll still do Spa Sundays. Although I missed this last one.”

“Spa Sundays?” I headed after them.

  Harper sneered at me.

Imani made it to the end of the stairs. “Harper and I love to pamper ourselves on Sundays. We usually go get pedicures and manicures.”

Blaze and I got to the end of the steps.

Blaze spoke first, “And these are females touching your feet?”

  Harper eyed him. “Yes. Why?”

Blaze shrugged and followed her around the kitchen. “Just wondering.”

Blaze is going to be a lot to deal with. Goodness. Did we look crazy like that?

  Conri shook his head. “No.”

I let out an exasperated breath. It appeared that my lifting of the fatal female ban would cause a rippling effect of horny, love-struck wolves. I did my best to shove the possible worries out of my head. So many things could go wrong with my wolves falling for the women in the town of Crystal Lake. If too many knew about their supernatural existence, the word could spread.

Fatals didn’t like what they couldn’t understand, especially if that thing could kill them. Even though my pack and I were strong warriors, we were still outnumbered by fatals. It was best to remain safe.

But everything is working out with Imani and me so far; maybe I should let it go.

  We left minutes later.

The rest of the pack followed us home, except Blaze. For the ride back to the pack’s cabins, I relished in the soft feel of Imani’s arms wrapped around my waist and the lovely clary sage and fresh ginger fragrance swirling all around her.

  “Mate.”

  Chapter 23

  Aiden

When we arrived, I jumped off my bike and helped Imani to her feet.

“I want to cook for you tonight,” I said. “We should talk more about my world, and the best way to do that is with food and wine. What type do you like?”

“I’m a fan of Italian food and love red wine—Pinot Noir.” She giggled. “No more Dragon Punch.”

“No more for you at this time.”

“Are you sure you want to cook?”

“I’m a monster in the kitchen.” I winked. “No pun intended.”
