The woman walked right past them without a word or a glance and stepped into the RV Paul had seen occupied by another woman and the child.
“Uhh…She don’t talk much,” the big man said with a shrug.
After a moment of awkward silence, the big man extended his hand out in greetings. “My name’s Jim, but everybody roun’ here just calls me Poppa. What’s your name, stranger?”
Paul shook his hand, returned the smile, and said, “Paul Anderson, sir.”
