House Of Dragons (The Cami Bakersfield Saga Book 1)

Just when Cami was on the edge of climax, Alistair backed off, pulling away from her throbbing, soaking wet pussy. She let out an indignant noise, muffled by Elijah’s cock in her mouth, and turned her head slightly to scowl at the other man. Alistair chuckled.
“I think I’ve earned the right to a little enjoyment of my own,” Alistair pointed out, stroking his erection lightly.
“We never did agree who would go there first,” Elijah pointed out, his voice tight.
“You’re busy, and I’m here,” Alistair countered.
“Fine,” Elijah said, before moaning softly. “Fuck—this isactually, I’m good with this.”
Cami moaned against his flesh as Alistair began to rub the tip of his erection against her drenched folds, teasing her with it. He barely brushed it against her pleasure center, and then lined up with her inner labia, slowly pushing into her. Cami moaned again as Alistair sank into her inch by inch, filling her up; even if he wasn’t quite as thick as Elijah, he was definitely thick enough that it took her body a moment or two to adjust, to let him in.
Then, she was once more locked between the two men by a tidal flow, pushing her hips down to meet Alistair’s thrusts even as she took more and more of Elijah’s cock into her mouth. The two men somehow managed to coordinate their movements with Cami between them, until she felt taken on a level she’d never been anymore, filled up to a point where she was almost uncomfortable, stimulated and turned on in a way that almost overwhelmed her. Someone—she didn’t know who—began to stroke and rub her clitoris, and even though Cami had wanted to make the first stage of bonding to the two men last as long as possible, her resolve began to crumble as the tension deep down below her stomach became almost unbearable.
The two men stopped just short of her orgasm again, and Cami let out a groan of frustration but didn’t fight it as two pairs of hands moved her around, hauling her onto her stomach and then onto her hands and knees. Once more, there was one cock in front of her, and she felt another rubbing against her drenched labia from behind, but as she shifted to be able to take the cock in front of her into her mouth, she could smell—and then taste, once her lips wrapped around the tip—her own fluids mingled in with the salty-bitter taste of precum. Somehow, that only made her hotter, more turned on, and she pushed her hips back to take Elijah deeper as he thrust into her, attacking Alistair’s cock eagerly with her lips and tongue.
As Elijah plunged into her, deeper and deeper, he reached around, and Cami moaned long and low against Alistair’s flesh between her lips as the other man began to play with her pleasure button, rubbing in time to his thrusts. All at once, the tension between her hips unraveled, and wave after wave of pleasure coursed through her body, caressing every nerve. She gave herself up to it, becoming nearly boneless between the two men, letting them push and pull and touch and tease her as she rode the wave, moaning again and again. Somehow, the orgasm only intensified as the two men kept up their efforts, and it seemed like it was going on for hours rather than minutes, as Alistair and Elijah approached their own climaxes.
Alistair managed to get out a stilted, strained warning, and Cami pulled back slightly as his cock began to twitch erratically between her lips. The first burst of bitter-salty fluids flooded her tongue, and she swallowed automatically, clearing as much room as she could for the second gush. A moment later, she felt Elijah’s hand on her hip tighten, heard him groan as he reached his own climax buried deep inside of her, the sticky-slick heat flooding into her from both ends at the same time for a moment or two. Alistair pulled back, the last of his cum slipping free of her lips as Cami struggled slightly to finish swallowing.
After a few moments, all three lay on the makeshift bed, limbs tangled, forming an unsteady and messy pile of gasping, panting bodies. Cami shivered as the aftershocks worked through her, making her think she might have somehow managed to lose all of the bones of her skeleton somewhere along the way. She slowly got her breath back and moved around enough to get comfortable between the two men, still hopelessly tangled but with their respective body weights arranged better against her.
“Maybe it’s just because it’s been a while and because it was a new thing, but that was fucking amazing,” Elijah said when he’d managed to catch his breath enough to speak.
“Round two should be even better,” Alistair said.
“I think we’re going to need to wait a bit for round two,” Cami told them. “I mean, I’m definitely down, but I need to catch my breath a little bit more than I have.”
“We can’t wait too long,” Alistair told her. “The bonding has to take place close behind the first orgasm.”
“The important thing is that there’s a resonance established,” Elijah pointed out. “Everyone on the same wavelength. I think we’re there and will stay there for at least the next ten minutes.”
“Good point,” Alistair said.
“So basically, it’s like a sexual gem dance?” Cami asked, turning her head so she could look at the two men.
“What?” Alistair frowned.
Elijah grinned. “Yeah, it’s pretty much that,” he agreed. He looked at Alistair. “Steven Universe reference. The gems dance and get synchronized, and then they fuse to form a combined gem.”
“I’ll have to check that out,” Alistair said. “But for now, we get ready for the next phase of bonding you to us.”
“No bonding is going to be happening today.” Cami heard a voice calling out from the direction of the house, one she didn’t recognize. The two Overton men moved at once, sliding free of Cami’s body and turning to face the threat. Cami was acutely aware of the fact that she was completely naked, her chin and neck still sticky, Elijah’s fluids starting to leak out of her onto her thighs—definitely not the state she would want to be in to confront anyone. But the two Overton cousins seemed to have forgotten her entirely, turning to face whoever had interrupted them with unmistakable tension in their bodies.
“Jordan,” Elijah said. “This is an Overton-only event. Please see yourself out.”
“I’m afraid I can’t do that,” Jordan—whoever that was—said. “The Overtons have broken at least a dozen draconic laws, and the Egans are here to ensure that you don’t get to add obstruction to that.”
CHAPTER TWENTY-TWO
Nicholas
“You can’t take her into custody; she’s a guest in our home,” Nicholas told Jamie, the Egan clan’s leader.
“She isn’t a guest, and we’re fairly certain we can prove that,” Jamie countered. “She gave no indication to friends or family that she had gotten to know any of you before coming here, so clearly one or all of you met her and immediately got her onto the property.”
“How would you know?” Nicholas asked, wondering just how thorough the Egan spy network was.
“Once we suspected who you might have, we made some discreet inquiries,” Alexander, Jamie’s cousin, said.
“She is a guest, not a hostage,” Dylan insisted. “She’s here of her own free will.”
“And clearly, the four of you are trying to prevent the Elders from weighing in on the situation,” Alexander said as he came in from the backyard. “Considering a bonding ceremony was about to enter its second phase just now.”
“Bonding a partially-activated dragon heir to keep her from being exposed to the rest of her kind,” Jordan said, joining his cousin. “That’s pretty shady, even for an Overton plot.”
“You’re right,” Dylan said. “Sounds more like something an Egan would do.”
Nicholas glanced at his cousin. The only way that the Egans had been able to enter the house and interrupt the bonding attempt was because they’d had Elder support; representatives of the Elders had accompanied them, though at least they’d had the good grace to stay outside. The threat was implicit: if they didn’t allow the Egan clan representatives to search the house and yard, there would be a show of force from the Elders themselves. Cami came into the house from outside, draped in one of the blanket
s that Elijah had hauled out, followed by Elijah and Alistair.
“Just what the hell is going on here?” Cami asked, looking around the room.
Nicholas tried not to be aware of the fact that it was clear she’d just finished having sex with his cousins—ignoring the rise of envy, desire for her body, naked underneath the makeshift drape, and anger at the Egan men for seeing Cami so vulnerable—to focus on the important facts of the situation.
“These men are from the Egan clan,” Nicholas said coolly. “They are of the opinion that we’re holding you hostage here.”
“You are holding a dragon heir while waiting for her to activate,” Jamie Egan said. “Given who this particular heir seems to be, that’s a grave cause of concern for the Elders. Did you even get her consent to bring her here?”
“The real issue is that you want the woman who’s going to save our species,” Elijah said. “But you can’t get it the normal way, so you went bleating to the Elders to get them to agree to let you harass us.” Nicholas could feel the tension in the room mounting moment by moment.
“We are empowered by the Elders to take the heir away, if we found one,” Jordan said. “Particularly given your attempts to obstruct any investigation into your activities, nobody’s trusting you to wait the three days for the tribunal.”
“Hold on a second,” Cami said, pulling the blanket more tightly around herself as she stepped closer to the center of the room, looking at the four Egan cousins with unmistakable distrust. “Are you saying that your reaction to the possibility that I’m being held hostage is to take me hostage? How is that any better?”
“We will be taking you to the Elders,” Jamie told her. “Of course we’ll give you time to get dressed, make yourself presentable.”
“What if I have no interest in going to the Elders?” Cami asked, and Nicholas had to restrain the smile that started to tug at his lips at her defiant tone.
“You are new to being a dragon; in point of fact, you’re not fully a dragon yet,” Jordan replied. “The Elders are in charge. The Elders are not to be challenged.”
“You know, the more I get into this, the more I feel like my initial instinct to think it’s a giant cult was the right one,” Cami said.
Nicholas pressed his lips together to keep from laughing; Dylan didn’t take any pains and instead just laughed out loud.
“You’re not wrong,” Dylan said. The Egans scowled at him.
“It’s not her fault,” Alexander said. “She wasn’t properly introduced to the realities of being a dragon.”
“I mean, I’ll agree with you there,” Cami said, shooting Nicholas a brief look. “But nobody has given me any actual reasons why I need to be subject to the Elders. I didn’t grow up as a dragon; I have zero reason to respect their authority.”
“They can imprison you, rule that your family be taken out, things like that,” Elijah said blandly.
“So, cult with mafia rules,” Cami said dryly. “Why the hell would I want to be involved in any of this again?”
“You don’t have a choice,” Jamie told her. “I’m sure that even as remiss as these Overton heirs have been in teaching you about being a dragon, they’ve surely told you that once you’re a dragon, you don’t have a choice to not participate in our culture.”
“Especially since you’re a particularly important dragon,” Alexander added.
“We would be happy to offer you a fuller explanation of everything, but our responsibility now is to get you out of here and to a location the Elders have prepared for you,” Jordan said.
Nicholas growled low in his throat and moved to put himself between the Egan men and Cami; he noticed that his cousins did as well, shifting their positions.
“Cami deserves the right to decide for herself where she wants to be,” Nicholas said.
“She isn’t in a position to,” Jamie said firmly. “The Elders have ruled on the situation. If you had wanted to conduct things officially, you should have started out that way.”
“How about if I just go home?” Cami said. “Because as far as I’m aware, the police wouldn’t be all that keen on people holding me against my will, even if they are Elders.”
“The Elders have this in hand,” Jamie told her.
Nicholas moved just slightly closer to Cami, and he felt the instinct starting to rise up in him. He might not have bonded to Cami yet—or even gotten the chance to—but the dragon within him saw what the Egans were doing as an active threat to the mate he had chosen. He struggled to keep himself from transforming, to prevent the change from taking over. The living room was not big enough for one dragon, much less for eight. If he were more in control over himself, he could partially change, but he knew that if he tried, he would end up giving into the process entirely, intent on protecting the woman he wanted as his own.
“Cami is not yet a subject of the Elders’ justice,” Alistair said. “She hasn’t become fully active. She is still more human than dragon.”
“That doesn’t change the fact that the activation has started,” Jordan countered. “And because it’s already started and was done against the laws our kind have set, Cami comes with us.”
“How are you going to enforce that?” Nicholas asked. His voice was quiet, but there was an unmistakable rasp, a growl underneath that showed the draconic nature simmering just under the surface of his skin, ready to burst forth.
“I had hoped that we could conduct this reasonably,” Jamie said. “I really did. I thought I could make it clear just what the situation was.”
He nodded to Gabriel Egan, who had stayed quiet the whole time; the youngest of the Egan clan representatives left the room quickly, and Nicholas knew that he would bring the Elders’ representatives with him. He looked at Dylan, Elijah, and Alistair and knew that things were about to get far more complicated.
Elijah had started to transform, but thus far had only gone as far as his arms changing, his eyes taking on some of their draconic size and shape. Alistair’s skin had begun transforming from human flesh, blue-green color shining through. Dylan hadn’t changed at all, but there was the tension in him that told Nicholas that—just like himself—Dylan was struggling to keep the instinctive transformation at bay. Cami seemed to be taking the situation more or less in stride, but then again, she had her own personal stake to be focused on.
“Overtons.” Gabriel came through the door fast on the heels of the first of the Elders’ representatives, Adeon. The older dragon looked around the room as the other three came in: Niall, predictably enough, Francesca Lords-Kinney, and Aoife Beecher-Halloway. Nicholas could only be grateful that Mairead hadn’t come along. “There will be no fighting here,” Adeon continued.
“You can bet your wrinkled asses that there will be fighting if anyone tries to touch me,” Cami said before either Nicholas or Alistair could reply.
“You are the heir,” Niall said, turning his attention onto Cami for the first time. Nicholas saw the older man’s eyes widen as he realized who she had to be.
“Can we just get this over with?” Gabriel asked. “We all know what the situation is here—well, everyone but the Keane heir.”
Francesca turned a scowl onto Gabriel and then turned her attention onto Cami as well. “You are the heir of Finn Keane?” she asked, looking surprised and skeptical in equal measures. Nicholas shifted closer to Cami until he was nearly touching her, putting himself between her and the Elders’ agents.
“My father was Finn Keane, yes,” Cami said. Nicholas glanced at Dylan.
You know, we probably could have just told her to keep quiet about it, Dylan mused. Nicholas shook his head; the Egans had already come to the conclusion as to who Cami was. Her denying it would have only ever been a stopgap. The Egans had someone they could get information from, and they’d managed to find out that he and his cousins had Cami.
“You need to come with us,” Francesca said. She looked at Cami steadily, and Nicholas wondered just what tactic the Elders’ representatives were
going to use, considering Cami had no intention of going with them.
“You’re going to have to give me a very good reason to,” Cami countered. “I’m willing to go back to my own home or stay here. I’m not willing to go with a bunch of people I don’t know and have no interest in getting to know.”
Aoife stepped forward, and Nicholas let out an instinctive growl as the older woman—dressed in her usual draping, gauzy dress, her hair pulled into a tight bun at the back of her head, her green eyes almost luminous—moved closer to Cami.
“You are transitioning,” Aoife said. “I’m certain that you want to know more about your father. As far as anyone in our world has ever known, you had no contact with him your entire life.”
“She wouldn’t just be activating now if she had,” Niall pointed out.
“You can be among people who knew your father,” Aoife continued. “Besides which, as you’ll learn: the Elders are to be respected, obeyed.”
“If I weren’t a dragon, what would they really be able to do to me?” Cami asked, crossing her arms over her chest, and Nicholas gave her full respect for not taking the bait.
“They do not have dominion over non-dragons, obviously,” Adeon replied. “But you are becoming a dragon, meaning they have dominion over you.”
“Why?” Cami asked.
The Egan cousins were getting restless, and Nicholas could sense the tension rippling through his own family as well. The Elders’ representatives wanted to keep things quiet and discreet, but they hadn’t counted on Cami having no natural respect for their position or even for the people they took their position from. She hadn’t been raised in the dragon hierarchy, after all; she had no reason to blindly obey dictates from people she’d never met.
“Let’s get this over with,” Alexander said. Nicholas saw him lift a hand, and he knew before it even happened what Alex Yates-Egan was about to do. The Egan dragon reached out with his secondary ability and grabbed Cami from the circle of Overton dragons and lifted her telekinetically off of the ground, out of their reach. Cami let out an indignant shriek, and Nicholas felt himself starting to change into his dragon form instinctively, his animal drive to protect her too strong to ignore or suppress. The wings emerged from his back, splitting his shirt and ripping their way out of his body painfully. Nicholas doubled over as the rest of his body began to shift and change, his bones altering their shapes inside of him, his skin prickling and crackling as the heat of his other form warped and transformed it.
