Storm Princess

The storm planet beings were hardy, raised on this planet to endure. Unlike the fighting warriors, they helped each other and let the planet make them tougher. They fought against attackers. These were the ones he loved and would also fight among and fight for their right to exist on this planet.
He thought of the ruined and destroyed worlds. He had arranged through the Federated Military to send Threads and medical help to each of them, but some were beyond repair. He thought of the one male with a broken mind. It was a king who had sent his daughter as a gift, but also a tool to be used against the storm planet. She was a strong female who refused to be misused and allowed his planet to adopt her.
There was nothing in his life that the normal individuals living in this world would understand. His love, a female freed slave by the name of Minel that he called Mine, and their feelings were progressing. He was announcing that she was his consort and she would stand beside him at official meetings.
He felt the pain every time Mikla looked at him, but he hoped that the strong guard Bower would bring her some peace.
He thought about the Threads of Targent, a gift from the Gods and a curse that drew the greedy governments from this sector of the universe.
At last, so far below him, he saw what he was waiting for, deep shadows of great sea animals. Now he needed their strength and comfort. Taking one deep breath and flexing his legs, he pushed away from the rock, letting the air take him down, lower and lower. A clean entry of the water, hardly a splash and then he was deep in the cold refreshing ocean to feel the instant touch of a large sea mammal that let him know it recognized him.
He would leave the government of this planet for a while to the Advisor and the Commander and forget his worries as he swam away with his own advisors and commanders.
The next problem for the storm planet would come soon enough.
