The children grew to be strong. The males took care of the crops and the herd while the females took care of the house and the meals. The man had four sons and three daughters and his name was Adam and his wife Eve. The eldest was their son Cain, followed by their eldest daughter Chora, followed by their second son Seth then the second eldest daughter Awan, followed by the third eldest son Kenan then the youngest daughter Edna and lastly the youngest, their son Abel.

As years passed by their life improved and seeing his sons and daughters grown up, a seed of desire started in Adam"s heart. „Is this all that life has to offer?" He started to ask.

It was a good life, and compared to their neighbors, they had more crops and flock. He was blessed with a large land for farming, different animals to provide them food, a beautiful family with hardworking sons, caring daughters and a loving wife.

As his sons and daughters became adults and had a family of their own, their family became even bigger so did their flock and crops. His sons and daughters had chosen wonderful partners and are good parents to his

granddaughters and grandsons. The help of their partners and children made their land and flock richer than he ever imagined.

As his hair turned whiter even with a secured life, the question still lingered deeply in him „Is this all that life has to offer?"

Seeing that his sons and daughters can live on their own and how they take good care of their own family and homes; he knew there was nothing he could ask for, but the question still lingered. So he asked Eve the question and she answered “what more do you wish for?” Adam had no answer but the question still lingered and bothered him even more.

As months pass by Eve saw Adam grew weary and she knew how this was bothering him.

“You must find the answer Adam,” she said. “But you cannot find it here, for your heart and mind is not here anymore.”

Adam was saddened but the words of Eve are true and he knew he would never find the answer in their home. As he turned seventy he decided to leave their home and entrusted to his sons and daughters to look after their mother. It was difficult for Eve but she supported him and believed that he will find the answer and that when he does, he will return to his livelier self.

“I will wait for you she said,” as she kissed him goodbye.

He looked backed at his family and wished to stay but he saw in them only well wishes and the hope that he will return with an answer and that he will become again the father and husband they know and maybe even better. So he walked ahead and never looked backed. As he passed by their neighbor"s houses, some cheered him up and gave him food for his journey. While others laughed and played jokes at him but he continued walking and engraved in his mind the image of his family.

He remembers their smiling faces, their hopes and faith in him.

“I will not fail them,” he kept on saying to himself.

He traveled far and wide, sometimes staying in houses, sometimes just sleeping under the trees or even in caves. He met a lot of different people. Some welcomed him in their homes and provided him food to eat while others laughed at him, and some even tried to beat him. But every night before he goes to sleep he gives his gratitude as he looked at the stars in the sky for all the things he had learned, for the new people he met, became his friends and for the wonderful places he has seen.

He traveled for years and in the seventh day of the seventh month on the seventh year of his journey he decided to go home. He had traveled to a lot of places already. He had gone to the sea and it was beautiful. He had gone high up in the mountains close to the sky and it was wonderful. He had gone to forests and caves and they were a sight to behold. He had known a lot of people, both good and bad and spent days with them and to some even weeks and even months in some amazing tribes.

He has seen a lot of animals good and savage. He had the chance to swim with the fishes in the see and to run with the animals on land. He had heard the stories of different people, tribes, and places. He has shared the stories of his travel as well to every place and people he met. It was a good journey and he did not regret any of it and now he wished to tell all of it to his family.

As he rested on top of a mountain sitting on a rock looking at the world below him, he felt tired but satisfied. It had been a long journey and although at times it was lonely it was also a joy to meet such amazing people.

„Is this all that there is to life?" He asked himself again the question he kept asking himself all this time and knew that there was no answer to this question - for life is continually changing and developing and that makes it beautiful.

While he rested happy and satisfied from all his learning and experiences and missing terribly his family, he saw a plant sprouting from the ground. It was almost daybreak and the sun is starting to rise and as he looked at the plant growing up from the land and lifting its small leaves embracing the light of the sun shining on it - he marveled at such a simple yet beautiful sight.

It was an extraordinary moment of content he never felt in all his travels learning and meeting new people. One simple plant can be breathtakingly beautiful as it emerge from the ground embracing the sun. He cried from such a wonderful scene that he closed his eyes and gave gratitude for all that he had experienced and learned from his travel.

He now knows to be contented in his simple life as a farmer to toil the land, to embrace the sun and to be with his family again. It took him years to realize that what he already has is already more than enough. Just as this simple plant who just needs the earth and the sun can be breathtakingly beautiful in its simplicity.

“We can be beautiful where we are, where we are planted,” he said to himself.

As he closed his eyes he imagined again the scene he just saw, that just like the plant stretching its leaves to embrace the sun he too stretched forth his arms and embraced the sun and gave gratitude for his life.

„Life is good, beautiful and wonderful… What we want will never be enough but what we have will be all that we truly need," he said to himself.

As he gave his thanks a sign appeared in his mind, then a word, something he has never heard and seen before. Curious he draws out the sign on the ground and spoke the name „Genesis".

As soon as he mentioned the name, a light shone in front of him brighter than the sun and a being like a little boy emerged from it. It had hair as brown as the land. Its skin was white as snow with eyes blue as the waters of the ocean and lips red as blood. It was wearing a green robe like the leaves of a tree and at its back seemed to be wings like that of bird but white and soft like cotton. The being radiated life and energy smiling at him cheerfully and Adam can"t believe the being in front of him, for he never saw anything like it in all his travels.

  “Who are you?” he asked.

“I am Genesis,” the being replied. “I"m your cherub, the angel of birth and new life.”

“A cherub? My angel?” Adam asked stunned.

He cannot imagine that he owned this being in front of him.

“We are beings created by God to be companions and guardians to humans like you,” Genesis replied.

  “Who is God?” Adam asked.

He has heard of the name before in one of the tribes he stayed with but different tribes had their own names to call the divine that they worship.

“Your creator… the giver of life… love itself,” Genesis replied.

“A being of love is a creator and giver of life?” He asked again and Genesis nodded.

They talked for a long time as Adam asked questions one after another. Genesis happily answered all questions that it took them hours of talking to each other.

It was already nightfall when they decided to go down the mountain.

“Would you like to meet my family?” Adam asked Genesis.

“I know them already but I would love for them to see me,” Genesis replied. “I am your companion for life Adam, I have always been.”

Genesis then told Adam all about his life and mor
e about the angels, their roles to guard humans, how to call them out, their signs, their gifts and the love and care of God.

When he reached back his home, Adam marveled at how improved their lands had become. His sons and daughters took good care of their crops and animals. Their harvests were abundant that Adam saw even from afar the storehouses.

As they saw their father his sons and daughters rejoiced and as he reached his house he saw Eve and she was still the most beautiful woman for him and loving her even more. He gave them gifts from the places he has been and when everyone had their gifts and settled down he summoned Genesis and introduced the cherub to them. They were all surprised and happy for him. They saw in his eyes the answer he was looking for, the satisfaction he was hoping for and the joy and life that they always saw in him before.

Adam saw in his children and wife the satisfaction he always wished for. It might have taken him years, travelling to places and meeting people to find that answer but he was happy for all that he has learned. Nothing can describe his happiness to be with them again. He would not exchange this moment for anything else.

Years passed by and stories are told and sometimes Adam"s sons and daughters with their partners and sometimes even with their children traveled to the nearby places where he had been, fascinated about his stories. But they always returned immediately to be with their families, to be back at their home. Sometimes it took months but they never let it last for a year whenever they decide to have the journey.

As Adam grew old and was nearing the end of his life, he gave the lands, animals and all his wealth equally to his sons and daughters and they all took good care of their inheritance. In his death bed before he breathed his last, his wife Eve was there by his side with Genesis and all his sons and daughters.

They were grieving but he ordered them to remain joyful for he knows he will be with God his creator as they will soon too in the end of their lives. As he breathed his last he wished for only the smiles and warmth of his family and as he closed his eyes he smiled one last time filled with gratitude as he goes back to God. And as soon as he stopped breathing Genesis started to fade as well giving his final blessings and wishes to everyone before disappearing.

After Adam was buried his sons and daughters decided to live on the places they visited. Each of them agreed to be in-charge of one place to help it develop just like their land. They were the ones who established the seven enlightened cities we now know.

“And that"s the end of the story,” Sella said smiling at their awed faces. “It is your assignment now to learn about the continuation of the story from your family, relatives and friends here in Inchora for the following days,” as she gets something from her table.

“You would spend the whole month including the week for research to gather as many stories and write them in these journals so you can share them to the class,” as she distributed to each of them their journals made from dried leaves.

“Now you can start immediately once you have your journals, God bless on your story hunting,” as she ends the class.

  CHAPTER 14

  HISTORY OF THE DAMNED

“How is the construction of the weapons going?” Paul asked Sau as they look at the Ardans working.

“Slower than expected Damned one,” Sau replied. “There has been a shortage of metals and the men are still digging deeper beneath the earth to get more.”

“How about the contamination of water?” Paul asked looking at the hole that seemed to go to the very center of the earth for he cannot see anymore the men digging or the sound of their tools.

“The men do not want to get any more Aqua since the water levels are now very low. But we got already the needed amount,” Sau replied pointing at a large metallic container.

“Keep the water safe then. I would not want to deplete the remaining Aqua here,” Paul said feeling the temperature at the cave to be increasingly hotter. He never knew that small pool of Aqua was a source of humidity for the whole cave.

„Lunasul was not lying of its importance," he said to himself.

“How is your foot?” Paul asked looking at Sau.

“There has been no difference in my movement, the toe is but a small sacrifice,” Sau replied. “But we might need more of your blood damned one for the conversion of Aqua. The previous amount was not enough.”

“Very well, come at my cave and bring a couple of your trusted men to stand guard as I will be weak after extracting some of my blood,” Paul said returning to his cave.

As Sau entered the cave he saw the place in ruins. Everything is destroyed and broken except the big old wooden chair at the center.

“I love this chair,” Paul said appearing behind Sau and sitting on it. “Did you bring a container?”

“The same clay pot where you put your blood before,” Sau replied showing the red round clay pot with the engravings that Paul made.

“That will do,” Paul said as he sliced his arm with his nail and stretched it out for Sau to take the blood slowly dripping like oil.

It filled the clay pot instantly and as Paul placed his palm on the wound it smelled like burned meat but the wound healed immediately leaving only a burned mark.

“Would you like to hear a story?” Paul asked as Sau closed tightly the clay pot.

“It would be an honor damned one,” Sau replied, placing the clay pot on the ground.

“It"s quite boring here alone as I recover my strength,” as Paul reclined the wooden chair.

“What would the story be about?” Sau asked.

“Do you know how the damned ones started?” Paul asked, as he closes his eyes. Loss of blood makes damned ones weak.

“Not yet damned one,” Sau replied sitting on the ground beside Paul.

“Here is the story then of how the damned ones started,”

Adam was the first enlightened human and his sons and daughters were the pioneers of the enlightened cities. No demon ever existed in this world during that time. It was the angels who first became companions of humans. For the demons hated humans.

The archdemon Lucifer was once the first and strongest archangel of God. Lucifer was banished to hell because of envy to the humans. The demons Lucifer created exist to tempt humans to sin that they may never be with God. Lucifer never considered humans to be worthy of God and all demons exist for the purpose of depriving humans of God.

Since, demons hated humans, they never wanted to be with them nor be their companions. But the existence of angels in the world would mean more humans will have the chance to be with God.

Thus, the demons decided they too should exist in this world, but never as a human companion. Unlike the angels, they can never be acquired. They should be the ones to choose who they would be with. Demons started with possession. They choose or corrupt the humans they like but humans are weak to even the presence of demons and all the humans that were possessed either went crazy or died.

Since, the human mind die and their bodies deteriorate whenever they are possessed demons decided that a price should be paid instead for their powers and they made this knowledge known to man. A number of humans were able to summon demons for a time creating havoc on earth but the archdemons never found any suitable human for their powers.

As years passed by, Adam and Eve"s youngest son Abel, was able to acquire an archangel and a lot of people were converted at that time. The mere presence of the archangel created lots of conversion that it made his enlightened city Arcis the main library of knowledge and the biggest enlightened city.

The archdemons cannot allow such progress among the humans that they wanted immediately their presence in this world as well. They started to possess a lot of strong people but all of these men died in just a matter of days. They are unable to overcome the corruption of any of the archdemons. Thus, the archdemons decided to tempt instead good people capable of having archangels. Eve was the first to be tempted. As soon as Adam passed away she was left to tend to their lands with the servants. Si
nce, her sons and daughters built the enlightened cities leaving her. She was alone and lonely in their land and she missed them. It was this longing and her love for her sons and daughters that was manipulated by the demons.

She knew Adam was in heaven with God and she was just waiting for her time to be with him but she deeply missed and love her children. The demons tortured her day and night for days giving her ideas of their brutal deaths and sufferings to torment her. She was unable to ask for help for her communication with them was cut off with all the servants possessed by demons taking advantage of their jealousy and desire to get the lands, property and riches of the family. In the seventh month as she was weary and weak she succumbed to the temptation and agreed to be a damned one having the archdemon Leviathar for the goal of just seeing her children.

As she left their land the demons were able to take control of it completely and it actually became the first damned city. She first went to Caelum the city of their Eldest son Cain who was the strongest and wisest of all their children. His heart broke at the sight of his mother and he promised himself to save his mother from damnation as they returned back to their home. Cain was respected by his brothers and sisters and considered the one most favored by God. Nobody knows how he removed his archangels for he already had the major archangel Uriel and another archangel. But Lucifer wanted to possess the man favored by God to mock God. Lucifer bargained the life of Eve for Cain and he agreed. He became the first and only damned one to acquire two archdemons by acquiring the archdemon Lucifer and Leviathar that day. As soon as the archdemon Leviathar left Eve all the years of torment and torture showed in her body and she died immediately. As her soul lifted up to heaven it only cried tears of love and sorrow for her son. It was the last time that Cain cried as well, for with two archdemons his body became a fiery hell.

Abel felt his mother"s death for he was closest to his mother and he immediately went back home and found Cain sitting beside the body of their dead mother. He never knew the reason for the death of their mother only that it was his brother who is now a damned one that killed her. Cain filled with sorrow cannot find any words to explain the agony of the death of their mother to Abel. Cain just never spoke nor moved away from his mother allowing the heat of his body to preserve the body of Eve. It was all he could do after taking her life.
