12 Day's In December

I shook my head. I had just gotten there, and I was ready to jump the first man I came across.

I had to tell myself to behave.

  But he did move me.

I stood in line behind him, breathing in his scent and fantasizing while listening to the two ladies behind me chat about how they planned to spend the evening. I thought what I was going to do while I was there. I was there to rejuvenate my mind, body and spirit. Five perfect days, that’s what Jacinita sold me on. She had planned activities and excursions for me that for each day. There was a day that she designated to experience the festive side of Antigua and another day that she called detox and retox day. My plan was to take advantage of some of the activities that she’d planned but include some more creative things of my own.

“Welcome to Galley Bay. Are you checking in with us today?”

“Yes,” Mr. broad shoulders said and a deep baritone voice that reverberated deep in my core.

“I would be glad to help you with that, sir. What’s your name?”

“Jabari Finney,” he said, and the sound of his voice made me wonder what he looked like. I mean he looks good from the back, but he might look like a werewolf when he turns around.

“Here you go, Mr. Finney. I have you all checked in to room two-o-three. It’s a deluxe ocean view room that opens onto a large balcony.” She handed him the card key. “Enjoy your stay.

“Thank you,” he said looking at the key and turning around to leave and, not looking, he almost walked into me.

“I’m sorry.” He looked at me.

“That’s okay,” I said as he walked off.

Definitely not a werewolf, I thought as I stepped to the counter to check in.
