Before anything else, he placed his hands gently on my belly and stroked it. I whimpered. Even during kinky sex he managed to be gentle and fatherly.

“I won’t thrust too hard,” Adriel murmured, breaking character for just a moment.

I nodded, then realized he couldn’t see it, so I said, “It’s okay. Go ahead.”

He resumed his submissive character. He found my entrance with his finger and smeared the slick fluid around. I had to bite back a whine. When he paused, I realized he was waiting for my command.

“Put your cock inside me now,” I told him.

  “Yes, master.”

Without peeking, Adriel guided the head of his cock to my slick hole. I hissed as he stretched me gently open and popped inside. Sex with him felt amazing in the first place, but sex while heavily pregnant… it was on a whole other level.

My body clamped down on his cock, as if it didn’t want to let him go. Adriel placed his hands on my thighs, careful not to bump into my belly, and began moving. My own cock grew hard again, but I couldn’t blame myself - it felt incredible. Jolts of pleasure electrified my nerves, making my entire body feel like one big bundle of arousal.

As I laid there, breathless and sweating, I watched Adriel. He looked so sexy with the blindfold on, acting subservient even though he was the one fucking me.

I could get used to this, I thought.

His thrusts were gentle and slow, but deep. I shut my eyes and let the pleasure wash over me. Every rock of his hips sent stars blossoming behind my eyelids. My cock, hard again, strained against my belly.

“Fuck,” I whimpered. “I don’t know how much more I can take.”

“Please cum for me, master,” Adriel murmured. “Cum in my mouth again.”

I broke character from surprise. “What? How - “

When I glanced down, Adriel already bent over and taken my dick in his mouth again - while fucking me at the same time.

The sight was too much for me to take. I gasped and cried out, cumming once more, somehow even harder than last time. Adriel groaned and tensed, and I knew he was cumming too. A split second later I felt the warm splurt of liquid inside my ass. But as he came, his mouth popped off of my cock just long enough for the last wave of my orgasm to splatter him across the face and the blindfold.

Coming down from the intense high was like falling into a deep sleep. I felt calm, despite sweating and panting hard, and deeply satisfied.

“Take it off,” I said to Adriel. “Come lay with me.”

He finally removed the blindfold, cum and all, and placed it aside on the bedside table with a slightly embarrassed expression. He then laid beside me and let me curl into his arms.

“That was fucking amazing,” I muttered against his chest.

“Yes, quite,” he agreed. “How do you feel?”

“I just told you. I feel great.”

He brushed my damp hair aside and kissed my sweaty forehead. “Good.”

  “Let’s do that more often.”

  He chuckled. “As you wish.”

I was so satisfied, I could have fallen asleep right then and there.

  But then it happened.

The air was sucked out of my lungs as a sharp, sudden pain punched me in the gut.

  “Caleb?” Adriel cried. “What’s wrong?”

  “Oh,” I said in a shaky voice. “I think… she’s coming.”

Adriel’s eyes went wide. “The baby?”

I nodded slowly. “And I don’t think she’s gonna wait much longer.”

  Adriel

It was my fault. In the heat of the moment, I hadn’t noticed Caleb’s water breaking.

But there was no time to fret about it. His labor had begun, and there was no going back.

Thankfully, it was the middle of the night and I had the ease to move about. I lifted Caleb and carried him as fast as comfortably possible to the mansion.

“Find Maxwell!” I shouted to the bat servants. They let out high pitched squeals and frantically scattered around.

On the way to his exam room, we passed Benji, who happened to be in the hall with a glass of water. He nearly dropped it when he saw us.

“Oh my god!” he cried. “Caleb, what’s happening?”

“He’s gone into labor,” I said. “Where’s Maxwell?”

“Shit. The last time I saw him, he was in his office. I’ll go get everyone.”

“Hurry back,” Caleb said, groaning. “Please, Benji.”

His brother’s eyes flashed in sympathy. “Caleb, you’re going to be okay. I promise. I’ll be right back after I help find Maxwell and the others.”

Caleb whimpered, but didn’t argue as Benji darted off in a hurry.

I brought Caleb to the exam room, where thankfully, Maxwell was already waiting for us.

“Caleb!” Maxwell cried. “Oh - is it happening?”

“Yes,” I said quickly. “He’s in labor.”

“This early? He still had another ten days before his schedule - “

“Maxwell!” I snapped, baring my fangs at him. “Help my mate!”

His glasses nearly flew off his face as he shot upright. “Yes, yes! Bring him over here, please.”

Caleb bit his lip in discomfort as I settled him on the exam table. Beside me, Maxwell was hurrying around the room, getting all his instruments set up.

“What’s going to happen?” Caleb asked with obvious fear in his voice. “She can’t come out yet! I was supposed to have a c-section!”

Maxwell’s composure changed - he went from anxious mess to a collected professional. He looked Caleb seriously in the eyes as he spoke. “If you like, we can still do an emergency c-section. Right now, I’m going to try and see if I can turn the baby around. If not, we might have to perform the c-section anyway.”

Caleb whimpered. He shut his eyes and whined, “I want my brother.”

At the same time, the door busted open. Benji, Pierce and Theo barged in.

“I’m here!” Benji said, going to his brother. “I’m here, Caleb. I’m sorry I took so long.”

“I don’t want the surgery,” Caleb cried. “Please, Maxwell…”

Benji and I stood on either side of Caleb on the table, holding his hands in an attempt to provide comfort.

Maxwell growled. “I’m sorry, but everyone who's not directly involved, leave now!”

Theo and Pierce huddled out of the room. After making room, Maxwell began preparing himself for the birth. He washed his hands twice and snapped on a pair of gloves before returning to Caleb. Benji and I backed off to give him space as Maxwell put his hands on Caleb’s belly.

“This might be a bit uncomfortable,” the doctor said.

Caleb nodded and shut his eyes.

I watched, feeling utterly useless, as Maxwell tried to help my mate and my baby. I cursed myself. Is there really nothing I can do but stand here and watch?

“Adriel,” Caleb called my name weakly.

I took his hand and squeezed it. “I’m right here. You’re doing wonderfully, Caleb.”

He gritted his teeth as Maxwell put pressure on his belly.

“Caleb, I need you to do something for me. Can you sit up?” Maxwell asked.

“Yeah,” Caleb said in between breaths.

I helped my mate sit up until his spine was nearly perpendicular with the table. Sweat dripped down Caleb’s flushed face. Fear and confusion marred his beautiful features. I knew he was worried sick with anxiety about the idea of a c-section. All I could do was pray that Maxwell could prevent it.

“Good,” Maxwell said. “That’s much better. Keep pushing, Caleb. Not too hard yet, but push.”

Caleb strained. As Maxwell continued to work on maneuvering the baby, Caleb grew short of breath. “Is it working?”

“Focus on something else,” Maxwell said firmly. “Keep breathing. Deep, rhythmic breaths.”

  “Fuck!” Caleb cried.

“Caleb, listen to him,” I said. “Look at me and
just breathe. You’re doing just fine so far. Nothing bad has happened.”

“No matter what happens, you can get through this,” Benji told him. “You’ve been through worse. You’ll get through this, too, Caleb.”

Tears formed in Caleb’s eyes, but he nodded, blinking them away and trying to remain strong.

The tension broke as Maxwell exclaimed with a happy chuckle, “There we go!”

  “What?” Caleb cried.

Maxwell smiled at him and wiped the sweat off his brow with his forearm. “She’s all turned around now. All she needed was a push, some help from the doctor, and her own willpower.”

Caleb gasped. “Wait… So she’s not breech anymore?”

“No. She’s all good to go.” Maxwell glanced down at Caleb’s lower half beneath the sheet. “And it looks like she’s ready to come out!”

I risked a glance - and if I had breath to lose, I would have lost it. The baby was already crowning.

“Caleb, you’re amazing!” I told my mate.

“What? What’s going on?” he asked.

“Oh, wow… She’s coming out!” Benji laughed. “You’re having this baby a lot faster than I had mine. I’m jealous!”

“She is?” Caleb breathed. The anxiety melted off his expression, leaving behind hesitant excitement. “Oh my god.”

“Okay, Caleb, I need you to push for real now,” Maxwell instructed. “You can lay back a bit, and push hard for me.”

  “So I don’t need surgery…?” Caleb asked.

Maxwell shook his head. “Nope. You’re good to go. In fact, your birth is progressing quite well.”

Caleb threw his head back in pure relief. “Oh, thank god.”

“It’s not over yet, though,” Maxwell warned. “I need you to push hard now. This baby is not waiting.”

“Okay…” Caleb gritted his teeth and clutched my hand as he strained to push the baby out.

From beneath the privacy sheet, Maxwell called, “That’s it, keep going!”

Caleb screamed as pain ripped through him. I hated hearing him suffer, but knew it would all be worth it in the end. His moments of pain were going to end soon, and leave behind a beautiful baby. Our baby.

“Come on, Caleb!” Benji encouraged. “You’re doing amazing! Push that baby out!”

  “I’m trying!” Caleb snarled.

A new scream pierced the room, sharp and high-pitched. Caleb gasped deeply like he’d been holding his breath under water. His eyes snapped open.

“There we go,” Maxwell murmured. A bright smile lit up his face, and a moment later, he stood upright with our baby held carefully in his hands.

  Benji gasped. “Oh!”

Immediately Maxwell took her behind us to a table he had prepared at the last minute, and began cleaning her.

“Everything’s clear. She’s crying, which is a good sign,” he mumbled, mostly to himself. “Good weight, looks healthy even though a few days early…”

Caleb was drenched in sweat and looked exhausted, even though the birth had been relatively quick. I couldn’t imagine the pain he’d been through, but I was glad the ordeal was over.

  “My baby,” Caleb murmured.

“She’s coming,” Benji reassured him. “The doctor’s just taking a look at her.”

Maxwell returned grinning ear to ear. He handed the bundled baby to Caleb. “Here you go, new dad. She’s perfectly healthy.”

Silent tears ran down Caleb’s face. “Oh, look at her, Adriel…”

My own heart clenched with pure affection and joy. “She’s beautiful.”

“You did amazing, Caleb,” I told my mate, then kissed his cheek. “Look at the life you’ve brought into the world.”

Even though Maxwell said she was healthy, she was still pitifully small - a vulnerable newborn that instilled a fiercely protective urge in me. I would never let anything happen to her, even if it meant dying to keep her safe.

“You should rest now,” Maxwell told Caleb after washing up and removing his gloves.

“Can the others meet her first?” he asked. “I want the rest of the family to meet her.”

  Maxwell said, “Sure.”

My brothers joined us, entering the room with a sense of awe and curiosity. Pierce had witnessed the birth of his own daughter not too long ago, but he didn't look any less amazed.

“Caleb, she’s gorgeous,” Pierce murmured. “Congratulations.”

“You guys are gonna make me cry with all these babies,” Theo complained, his eyes red and puffy. “Stop having them! I don’t wanna cry!”

Caleb laughed. “Sorry. Maybe tell your brothers to stop knocking us humans up, then.”

Theo crossed his arms. “You hear that, guys? Cut it out with the baby-making.”

Pierce and I exchanged glances and just laughed.

“Well, the only human omega who hasn’t had a baby yet is Maxwell,” Pierce said with an impish smirk. “And the only vampire alpha who hasn’t had a baby yet is - “

If Theo could have blushed, his face would have been fully red. “Ahh! Shut up! No! It’s not gonna happen!” he interrupted before Pierce could finish.

“Ignore them,” Benji said, rolling his eyes and patting his brother on the shoulder. He glanced down at his niece. “I’m more interested in you, little one. Oh, you are so cute.”

“She is,” Caleb said with a sigh. “I can’t stand it. Why are babies so cute?”

“Probably to make up for the fact that we have to painfully push them out of our bodies,” Benji added, grinning.

  “True.”

“Well?” I asked. “Are you going to share her name with the family?”

  “Oh, yeah!” Caleb said.

All eyes were on Caleb and the baby, waiting impatiently for the answer.

“Everyone,” Caleb said with a smile, “meet your newest family member: Luna.”

  Epilogue: Caleb

“And they lived happily ever after…”

I put down the book, knowing fully well that neither of the two young girls in front of me had understood a single word of it.

“Well, I liked the story,” Benji said with a grin. “Even if Luna and Lark care more about the new rug.”

We sat together in a loose semi-circle in the nursery with our daughters in the middle. I’d just finished reading them my newly published children’s book, which wouldn’t have existed without Adriel’s help. He helped me finish my draft and get it to a publisher - and since the Tenebrae conglomerate owned the company, Adriel was able to pull some strings to get it published as soon as possible.

He chuckled now as Luna fell forward on all fours and dribbled into the rug. She slapped the cutesy bat pattern.

“Oh, dear. Not quite as coordinated as your cousin, are you?” Adriel said.

“She’ll catch up,” Benji promised. “She’s only three months old. Soon she’ll be grown up enough to terrorize you.” He lifted Lark up by her arms until she stood upright and playfully bared her teeth at him. “Just like this one. Oh, put your fangs away.”

Behind him, Pierce laughed. He was rearranging the many toys in the nursery. With two little girls using the nursery now, the ratio of babies to stuffed animals had become ridiculous.

“I suppose none of us really knew what a dhampir child would be like until we had our own,” Pierce mused. “But despite all the warnings, I’d say it hasn’t been so bad.”

“That’s because most half-vampires were raised by one parent or another, right?” Benji offered. “I remember reading about that while I was pregnant with Lark.”

“That’s right,” Adriel said. “Since our children have both the alpha and omega parent in their lives, they won’t fall prey to ‘choosing’ a side, so to speak.”

I picked up Luna, who was trying to lick the rug, and snuggled her close. “That’s right. Isn’t it, baby girl?”

Luna let out a tiny defiant squeak that might have been a growl. I laughed and gently pinched her cheek.

&
nbsp; “By the way, where’s Theo? Usually he loves hanging out with the girls,” I mentioned.

“He’s actually helping Maxwell tonight,” Pierce said.

  “Oh, you mean with moving?”

After the excitement of Caleb’s birth died down and things for the rest of the family began to settle into normal, Adriel and his brothers had the task of figuring out what to do about Maxwell. We all felt it wasn’t fair to him to have been pried away from his life because of Margaret, and then forced to stay at the mansion - even though he insisted that he enjoyed giving Benji and I medical care.

In the end, they came to a compromise. They all trusted Maxwell not to blow the family’s secret - the one about a house full of vampires - and in return, he could operate a new medical business of his own on a property owned by the Tenebrae conglomerate. It was close enough to walk from our home, and Maxwell was free to come and go as he pleased.

Still, I got the feeling that there was one young alpha in particular he was more eager to visit than anyone else…

“Well, I’m glad Theo’s the one helping him,” Benji said. “Even though he’s small, he’s a strong alpha and can probably carry all that medical equipment one-handed. Good thing, too, since Maxwell barely looks strong enough to crush a fly.”

“Don’t tease him,” Adriel added. “He is the one who delivered both your babies, after all.”

“I only tease him because I love him!” Benji objected. “Seriously, I don’t know what we would have done without Maxwell.”

“Me neither,” I said, sighing. “He even helped me out so I wouldn’t have to have a c-section.”

As he spoke, Luna clambered out of his arms and on to the rug again. This time she didn’t stop crawling until she crossed the room and pounced on Adriel. Once again I was surprised at her growth rate - a human child wouldn’t be so agile and surefooted at her age. I was just glad that she was finally old enough to drink her own blood from a sippy cup, and I didn’t have to down any more of it.

“Silly girl,” Adriel murmured with a smile, scooping her up. She laughed as her dad lifted her above his head.”
