The Forever Plan

I can’t hide the smile on my face this time because I know if I was to look in the mirror it would be beaming.
“I’ll go freshen up then. I won’t be a minute.”
“Take your time I’ll be here waiting.”
Turning back with a sarcastic grin she leaves the room while I talk shop with Jack.
Proctor 2 Davenport 1
Chapter Twenty-Six
Serena
When Dylan walked into that conference room, I thought blood was about to be shed. He didn't have to say anything for me to know that something had pissed him off. The anger was rolling off him in waves. To be honest he scared me a little, I've never seen him look the way he did, his eyes were black. If I looked hard enough, I could see him visibly shaking, but what and who had caused him to be that angry is still a mystery to me.
In that moment I wanted nothing more than to go to him. To take him in my arms and make sure he was okay, but I couldn't. It would just have confirmed Steve’s suspicions. Dylan doesn't know about the showdown between me and Steve before he entered the room. Yet his glare was set on Steve the moment his eyes landed on him.
Mmm interesting.
I'm still shocked at Steve's accusation and I'm trying my damned hardest to hold back the tears.
Were we that obvious? I kept myself poised the entire time I thought.
Going back into Dylan's office to find out the outcome of our presentations, I keep my head held high. If I lose, then so be it. I know deep in my gut that I did my best work and that Steve only won because of his connections, not through hard graft.
Twinning my fingers together in my lap, my sign that I’m a nervous wreck on the inside, but don’t want anyone to know it. Dylan starts talking about how we both gave brilliant pitches and how we yet again impressed him. It’s nothing he didn’t say before, but we both sit there and let him get on with it. I glance at Steve and the smug look he’s wearing on his face. the one that tells me he thinks he’s got this in the bag. He probably has, that is until Dylan waffles on some more and announces that he’s giving me the contract.
When he says my name, I’m utterly gobsmacked. Then like I’ve had a bucket of cold water tipped over me I freeze, my insecurities rearing their ugly head.
Did he give it me because I’m actually good at what I do or because I’ve let him fuck me?
My thoughts are halted when the devastating look on Steve's face has me laughing on the inside. He never did like to lose.
Wanker.
Handing me an envelope with my name on it, I take it in one hand as Dylan congratulates me, a cheesy smile a mile widespread across his face.
Giving Steve the brush off and some loser speech, Steve finally bogs off, sulking as he goes.
Again, I do another little happy dance to myself.
I won, I fucking won.
Silence descends around the room when it’s just me and Dylan, only I can’t keep quiet.
Voicing my shock to him about winning, he reassures me that I won it fair and square. Which slightly puts my mind at rest.
Coming close to nearly telling him to fuck me in his office again, I make my excuses before thanking him. Leaving as quick as my feet can carry me. Myself and Dylan alone in a room together is not a good idea. It’s only ever going to end up one way and now that he’s my new boss, it’s not a very good idea.
Getting back to my office, I smile all the way there. As I travel up in the lift, I race to tell Jack the fabulous news.
“I did it, Jack. Proctor loved what I did.” I say as I bounce into his office, my manners slipping my mind.
“I knew you would girlie, I’m proud of you.”
Coming around from his desk, he wraps one arm around my shoulders and gives me a squeeze.
“Now get back to work, you’re still my employee for another week, so I need to make the most of you.”
We both laugh and I leave him to his work, making my way to my own office. Standing in the middle of the vast space, I spin around on my heels slowing and taking it all in. I haven’t been here long, but already it feels like I belong. These people accepted me and made me a part of their work family. I’m going to miss them all terribly.
Sitting down at my desk, I relax for what seems like the first time in a long time. It then hits me that I haven’t told Bonnie and we have to celebrate; fuck the hangover it’ll be worth it. Rummaging through my bag, I locate my phone and start tapping out a text to my best friend, when Hayley stops me.
“You have company, Jack's office.” Is all she says to me. Sliding my phone on to my desk, I head on over to Jack’s office wondering what the fucks going on. I’ve not long left the man.
To my surprise there once again looking like cat got the cream is Dylan fucking Proctor. Seriously? He just turns up at random times and expects me to come running. Noticing the champagne filled glasses, Dylan turns to both me and Jack and wishes us a successful partnership. The glint in his eye has me thinking that he’s not just talking about our working relationship either.
Dylan suggests that we go and get some dinner together so we can talk properly about the contract. Yet I’m soon figuring him out. He doesn’t want to talk shop; he just wants to get me on my own and without people listening in. Making my excuses I brush the idea off telling him I still have to work. Only that doesn’t last long when Jack lands me in the shit, by telling him I can have the rest of the day off. Giving me no choice, but to go with him. Excusing myself from the pair, I go and collect my things from my office. All ideas of celebrating with Bonnie, now well and truly out of the window.
Saying our goodbyes to Jack, we both walk on to a waiting lift. Just as it starts it descend to the ground floor, Dylan rushes forward and presses the emergency stop button. Before taking me in his arms and having me pressed against the glass panel.
“You have no fucking idea how hard it was for me not to rip that fucking dress off you in my office. Every time I lay my eyes on you my dick always gets that little bit harder, to the point I’m scared I’m gonna come in my trousers like some teenager getting his first erection.”
His lips smash against mine and we both start clawing at each other’s clothes and bodies, neither one of us knowing where to touch first. His hands pull my dress up my thighs, yanking one thigh up and around his hip in a flash. The feel of his erection pressing against my core has me growling into his mouth.
“Shit, Dylan. We can’t do this here.”
Nipping at my neck, he licks his way up to my soft spot behind my ear before whispering, “I warned you when I fucked you, once I had been inside you then you were mine. I meant it. I will do what I want, when I want with you.”
Oh, sweet baby Jesus.
I think I just come on the spot. His fingers find their way inside the elastic of my underwear, before I hear the distinctive noise of something being torn. When I look into his eyes, they are alight with mischief.
“You won’t be needing these, Ms Davenport.”
Lifting my torn underwear up so I can see them, I gasp at his audacity. It’s soon forgotten when they get stuffed into his pocket and he’s thrusting his fingers inside of me, lifting me higher up the glass each time he does it.
“Shit, fuck me, Serena you’re sweeter than I remembered.” Placing his finger that was just inside me into his mouth and pulling it out slowly. “I’ve never wanted you more than I do right now. Unfortunately, I’ve made reservations for us both. I’m sure if you’re a good girl, I will continue this when we’re done.”
What the actual fuck? He can’t leave me hanging. I’m a woman on the edge. My orgasm was just within reach and the tosser pulled out of me. I mean who does that? A sadistic bastard that’s who. Letting out a loud huff in frustration, he just laughs at me as he places my legs back to the ground, pulls my dress back down, before restarting the lift.
Exiting the building, we turn the corner and he takes a hold of my hand and kisses my knuckles.
&
nbsp; “Hungry?”
“Yeah, but not for food arsehole.” My childish behaviour making him chuckle.
“Get in the car Serena, I’ve had to endure a weekend of not seeing you and I just want to spend some time with you. Is that okay with you?
“I suppose so.” I try to act like I’m put out, but he sees straight through me.
“Good, now come on I’m starving.”
Getting into his car he tells me we’ll come back for mine later. Spinning off the car park I begin to wonder if it’s time that I open to him a bit more. Then maybe he’ll tell me why on Friday, he ran the way he did.
Chapter Twenty-Seven
Dylan
I knew she wouldn’t be able to resist my charm. Well I didn’t give her the choice in Jack’s office, that’s why... She would have made some half-baked excuse as to why she couldn’t make it. I would have had to just sit on my hands and take it. Well, fuck that. Our weekend got fucked up as it was and the reason, I came up with this plan, was to get the girl and goddamnit, I’m going to get her.
“I really like this car.” Serena exclaims from the side of me.
“Thanks. So do I.” Smirking I shift my hand just an inch to the left and slide my hand over the silky skin of her thigh.
“Don’t tease Dylan.”
The good thing about an automatic you don’t need your left hand for a gear change. The tips of my fingers sweep up the inside of her thigh gently, the muscles tensing beneath my touch. Covering my hand with hers, she removes it placing it back on my own.
“Behave.” Her voice is quiet with a slight husk to it.
I love how just one simple touch can set her off like a sparkler.
“I’m sorry babe.”
“I think you should let me drive this car…?”
Before I can filter my brain, the innuendo’s are out.
“You can drive me anytime you want to beautiful.”
Her narrowed gaze from the side of me make me grin. “You can take the driving seat anytime you want to.”
“Really, Dylan? You’re unbelievable.”
I pull up at the Italian restaurant I reserved for us and park the car as near to the front of the restaurant as I can. It’s not too warm today and Serena only has a dress on. I walk around to the passenger side and meet her as she steps from the car. Holding my hand out to help her out She takes it smiling and stands upright.
“Come here.”
Tipping her head back with my knuckle under her chin, her eyes are on my mouth, before I capture her lips with mine and kiss her. When I pull away slightly, she removes the gloss that been transferred from her lips to mine with the delicate tip of her finger.
“Let’s go eat.”
I clasp our hands together and walk into the restaurant. I probably didn’t think of the consequences when I booked this. It has a very romantic feel. Candles alight on the tables, a single red rose in a slim vase, low lighting…
“Wow… this is gorgeous.”
“Only the best Ms Davenport.”
The maître d greets us at the door.
“Hello sir, madam.”
“Proctor, table for two?”
He looks down his list finding my name, he grabs two menus and takes us to our table. Once we are seated, I order the waiter to get me their most expensive champagne. Within a minute the waiter is back popping the cork on the bottle and pouring it into the glasses.
“Sir are you ready to order?”
“Not just yet.” Picking up the two glasses I pass one over to Serena. “To you, Serena Davenport. Congratulations.”
“Thank you.” She places the glass at her lips tipping it back slowly and taking a sip, My focus is purely on her lips, her throat, the ways her eyes close as she swallows. I look away, because if I don’t, I’ll have more than a twitch in my pants.
“I think we should order, the quicker I get you out of here the better.”
“Why Mr Proctor, are you feeling okay?”
I take a sip of my champagne then call over the waiter ordering our food.
“Tell me about yourself.” I ask her as I’m finishing up my tagliatelle.
“What would you like to know?”
“Whatever you’ll share.”
“Okay…”
I narrow my eyes across the table at her.
“Why do I feel a but, coming?”
“Well, remember that works both ways…”
“Well played Ms Davenport.”
“Okay I’ll start, how about my trust in men is zero. There’s nothing in my life I love more than my job. Before you say it, yes, I know that’s sad, but at least I’m living my life the way I want to, not how someone else expects me too.”
Reaching across the round table, I curl my fingers around hers.
“I think you’re an amazing woman.”
“I think you just want to get in my knickers.”
“Probably sweetheart… but then, I already have and I still think you’re amazing.”
“Sweet talker.” Her green eyes bore into mine as she takes a sip of her wine, “I’m sorry about Friday.”
“I know you are. I’m sorry I didn’t call you back.” I bring her hand to my lips and tenderly kiss her knuckles.
“Have you ever wished you could live your life differently, Dylan?”
“At times. In some aspects yes.” I admit solemnly. I don’t want to ruin today so I quickly change the subject. “So, tell me about Steve O’Malley.”
“Ugh, did you have to bring him up?” She sighs, but answers anyway. “When I asked if you could change anything, for me that would be him. I don’t know what on earth possessed me to marry him.”
“We all make mistakes, some bigger than others.”
Serena knows there’s more to that statement and delves into my subconscious. Like she’s trying to find the analyse the reasons behind that answer. Her eyes searching mine for answers.
“So, what was yours Dylan, because you haven’t become the man you have from sailing through life and having everything laid out on a silver platter. You’re not the Steve O’Malley's of the world. You’re a grafter, so while we’re talking why don’t you let some of that guard down?” Her voice is soft, inviting, gentle… but still it doesn’t break down the barricade.
“What if I said I wanted to take you back to yours and fuck you senseless?”
Nibbling on her lip that adorable flush rises again.
“Well, I’m not opposed to that, but maybe if you spoke about what’s eating you up inside it would help.”
Removing my hand from hers, I knock back the champagne and fidget around in my seat. I’m uncomfortable, I can’t sit still. Looking at our empty plates on the table, I search around the room for a waiter. Putting up my hand and calling one over he comes straight away.
“Can I have the bill please?”
“Would Madame like a dessert?”
“Oh, no thank you.”
“Just the bill.” I take my wallet from my back pocket and pull out my bank card throwing it down on the table. The waiter brings a leather-bound wallet over.
“Could I get you coffees?”
“No thank you, we’re leaving.” The poor young guy looks at me as if I’ve just told him that his cats just died. I push the leather wallet towards him and nod. Not hanging around he takes my card and takes the payment.
“I was actually looking forward to coffee…”
“So, I’ll make you one.”
I know she can feel the shift in me. I’ve tried so hard tonight to talk to her, maybe I can’t. Maybe I’m made to be on my own. Breaking from my own fucked up thoughts and getting too lost in my head, Serena cocks her head and studies me.
“What’s running through your head right now?”
“You don’t want to know…”
The waiter comes back with the card machine and places it in front of me. I enter my pin, then take some loose change from
my pocket dropping it on the empty plate, that had the after eight mints on leaving him a tip. After putting my card away, I stand and hold my hand out for Serena.
A silence has overcome us in the car, but we don't have to bare it for too long. We reach the Boston building and Serena retrieves her car. I follow her back to her house. All the way I’ve been cursing myself for letting my head take over. I can’t find the middle between being in a place where I can forgive myself. So, I get angry instead and that’s not Serena’s fault. I was the one who asked for her to share with me. I’ve got no-one to blame but myself.
I park on Serena’s drive and follow her in. I watch her kick off her heels and turn to face me.
“I wasn't sure if you’d even come here, I had a feeling you’d go home.”
I don’t speak, I prowl towards her taking her hips in my hands and tug her towards me. Running my palms over her curves, I reach the bottom of her dress and drag it up with my fingertips until it’s bunched around her waist. Bending at the knees slightly, I place my hands beneath the cheeks of her arse and lift until her legs are wrapped around my back. Pushing open the door I walk into her sitting room and sit us down on the couch, with Serena straddling me. I cup her breasts in my palms and rest my head on the back of the cushion.
“Kiss me.”
She obliges right away sealing her lips to mine. Pulling away, she loosens my tie before lifting it over my head. She unfastens each button of my shirt one by one, smoothly, and promptly, until she reaches the bottom and pulls it from my trousers. She opens it to bare my chest and smooths her palms upwards. I find the zip at the back of her dress and pull it down until it’s loose enough to drag over her head. She raises up onto her knees and clutches my head in her hands, as I suck her nipple through the black lace bra she has on.
“Oh god Dylan.” She cries out as she fiddles around the with the clasp on my trousers. Taking the condom from my pocket I hold it out for her. She takes it from me with a seductive grin and places it between her teeth. I help her along and pull my dick from trousers and slide them further down my thighs. Ripping open the little silver packet she takes the rubber, pinching the top she rolls it down my shaft. I don’t think there’s any better feeling, as much as I hate using condoms, there’s something erotic about having the other person put it on.
