“She stopped by earlier today to talk to me about Young, but then she left.” I left out the part about her being upset. Why what’s up?”

  “Nothing just forget it.”

“Aye River is everything okay? Is Ocean okay?” Her tone had me alarmed, I was worried that something had happened to her and I would never be able to forgive myself if something happened to her.

“She left me a voicemail saying that she was meeting with Bryce at her house about the divorce. That was two hours ago, and now I can’t get her on the phone. I don’t like this, and I don’t trust Bryce. I’m all the way in Hickory, I had a date, and I can’t get there fast enough. I know y’all ain’t rocking like that, but I didn’t know who else to call, to be honest.”

“I got you, I’ll head over there and check shit out.”

“Thank you, Lucas.” She said but right before she was about to hang up she sighed. “She’s gonna kill me for this but she’s pregnant, and it’s yours. Y’all need to talk anyway.”

She hung up the phone, and my heart balled up in knots. I felt like pure shit. Ocean was pregnant with my seed, and she was going through this shit alone. I wasn’t raised like that, and the shit was eating at me that fast.

I grabbed my keys and wallet and headed for the door.

“Where are you going? To look for that hoodlum?” Kelsi said coming out of the spare bedroom. I turned around.

I had found her an apartment, and I was gonna take her to see it tomorrow. Hell, I was even gonna furnish the whole fucking place for her just so she could get the fuck away from me. I grabbed the set of keys out of my pockets and laid them on the counter.

“Here are the keys to your new apartment, you leave here tomorrow. That way you won’t have to worry about what the fuck I do or that hoodlum.” I grabbed the knob to leave. “But if I find out that baby ain’t mine, you gone hate the day you ever met me.”

“This is about that girl, ain’t it? The one that came here today?” she already knew the answer but it was more than that, I didn’t have a connection to that baby she had in her stomach, so I knew that it wasn’t mine. “You love her?”

I had to think about her question, did I love Ocean. I knew that I had developed feelings for her the last few months we spent together and these last few weeks we spent apart made me want her even more. Was that love? I didn’t know the answer to that question, so I didn’t answer it.

“She’s carrying my baby.” Was all I said before I headed out the door in search of Ocean.

What usually was a 20-minute drive, I cut it down to 12. Something was telling me that I needed to get over there and see if Ocean was okay. Pulling up I noticed that there was a car in the driveway along with hers. The car looked familiar, and then I realized that it was the same car that her bitch ass ex-husband was driving.

All of a sudden I was hit with all kinds of emotions, I was jealous, pissed off, hurt, everything under the sun. A part of me was hoping that it wasn’t what I was thinking it was. Because in my mind she was pissed off at me and she was in there fucking her soon to be ex while carrying my seed and that was the ultimate disrespect.

I ran to the door and turned the knob, it was open. When I stepped inside the first thing I heard was moaning. I could feel my blood heat up, and the vein in the side of my neck pop out. I pulled my heat out and slowly crept down the hallway closer to where the sound was coming from.

“Please!” I heard Ocean moan. Just hearing how wet she was and knowing that someone else was enjoying what I claimed as mine had me on ten. “Please stop Bryce.”

“You don’t want me to stop, listen to how wet you are.” He damn near growled and that’s all I could take. I busted in the room, seeing him in between her legs all I saw was red.
