In one swift motion she was up in his arms, straddling his lap. He slammed her down around his cock and she gasped in relief and pleasure as he growled. He felt impossibly bigger with the plug in her ass and the added sensation alone had her pulsing and throbbing around him as she moaned in release.

“That’s it, Psihi Mou. All your come belongs to me.”

He fisted her hair so that her neck was offered up to his lips, and he kissed and nipped at the column there while using his other hand to slam her up and down over him. Her thighs were shaky and her skin was racked with tremors as his goatee abraded the soft skin at her shoulder.

“I love how fucking good you taste. How you pull me in.” He groaned and leaned back, gazing at her aching breasts, all the while keeping her neck exposed. He slid his other hand to rub all of his come over her nipples and then pinched them hard until she sucked in a breath.

“You smell so good with my come all over you.” He looked hungry.

She circled her hips, needing more. It was never enough.

“That’s it, grind your pussy on me. Give me what’s mine. Come all over my cock.”

She moaned and rocked against him as he watched her face and played with her breasts, plumping, pinching and then finally holding her bent back so he could suck and bite them until she was coming hard all over again.

He groaned as she felt his warmth flooding her, easing her.

He growled against her breast and she got dizzy at the vibration. “Mine, Psihi Mou.”

He tilted her back up to rest against his chest, and soon the ties on her elbows were released. His big hands massaged her arms and shoulders before moving to her back and then down to her ass.

“Push for me,” he said as he kissed her hair.

She didn’t think she could move enough to comply, but she wanted the plug out, and the moment it slipped free she took a deep breath. She still felt the memory of it in her muscles.

He lifted her off his cock and the wet evidence of their desire trickled along the inside of her thighs. He carried her drowsy form into the bath and washed her as always. The sweet care after such intensity always eased her down into a puddle of exhausted bliss, but by the time he finally settled her into the bed beside him, she felt reality descend. Guilt and anger started twisting her stomach in knots.

She felt for her twin’s link. Nastia seemed to have gone from Italy to London. Chasing opening hours for the tailors they were checking.

How is it? she asked her twin.

Not now, Nastia snapped. Trust me, I’ll call if I come up with anything. I don’t need your snapping and bitching right now, Nastia bit out.

Is Sander still following you? Tasha ground out.

There was no reply for long moments.

Yes. If I find anything, I’ll tell you.

  Be careful, she said.

Silence and an image of her twin’s middle finger showed in the link. She sighed, but smiled. It was Nastia’s version of “I love you, but I fucking hate you right now.”

Tasha hopped out of bed and rubbed her neck. They needed to go out and hunt again. They’d wasted enough time already, but the damned frenzy would do it all over again in hours. It seemed like the time between craziness was slim and being together constantly only aggravated it.

“I’m done being a slave to this,” she snarled at him. “We’re completing this bond. Tonight. Now!”

When she looked over at him, he was staring at the ceiling, and it looked like he was completely lost in thought.

Her stomach was already tightening up before he spoke. “There are some things I need to tell you first.” After a pause, he scanned her face. “It’ll be better if I show you.”

She just looked at him with a sinking feeling and said very slowly, “Did you lie to me about there being no way to control this?” If he had, she’d break off one of his limbs and beat him with it.

  “No.”

She stared down at him. “Let me see.” Something was telling her she wasn’t going to like what she learned.

The look on his face was nearly unreadable. Regret or dread?

She took a deep breath and braced for whatever horrible thing she was going to learn about the male she’d come to care about. Not just care, that was a weak version of what she felt for him. It was like they’d been together for years not days, and she’d somehow ended up fully trusting him in that short time.

Was that about to be ripped away? She had a bad feeling it was, but she had to see it to know.

He clenched his jaw and she felt his mind open up to her. It felt like she was flying for a moment and then she was in the club, looking at herself. She felt his thoughts. It was intense, consuming. Then he was in front of her and that first touch ignited him. Pleasure and passion.

She sucked in a breath when she realized he’d built a block to his thoughts and was listening to hers while he pushed all that pleasure through her. All the while listening to every gasp, knowing just how much she loved his touch because he was hearing it in her thoughts. Her personal, private thoughts of how it felt to have him inside her, when she’d never had another male.

She clenched her jaw and she felt her skin flush as she watched it unfold like a movie. Saw as he fought the dizziness and disorientation of what her sister had done.

He’d kept listening to her thoughts even as he fought with his brothers about whether she was too powerful to leave in Earth Realm. He’d used the fact that he was in her mind as a reason not to bring her and Nastia in, to keep the other Guardians from putting them in a cell. He thought he was protecting her, but that wasn’t stopping the rage she felt as each new scene played out in his mind. As he was ordered to mate her.

Everything in his memories flowed back to the same feelings, protecting her, caring about her and then finally, loving her.

And now he lay there worried that she wouldn’t understand that he did what he thought he had to do.

She stared down at him as she slipped from his mind. He scanned her face as she processed it all. He knew more than she’d ever wanted him to know. “You heard my most personal thoughts,” she was furious. Her dreams of a family, a child, his child. Her fears for her sister. Things about her past. He’d heard all of her internal agonizing.

  “Yes,” he admitted. “I’m sorry.”

She stood up and paced. She was angry, embarrassed and hurt all at once. She got that he thought he was protecting her, but she didn’t care. “I trusted you,” she said, shaking her head.

“I know.” He didn’t make excuses. He didn’t need to, she’d seen into his head as he’d justified doing it in his own mind for her to know every excuse he had.

She took a deep breath. He also hadn’t told her what the blood bonding entailed. That they’d each see all the important memories from their entire lives. Millennia of shit and some she’d rather no one knew. That sent a sick feeling to the pit of her gut.

She pushed all that aside and built a shield for her thoughts, mentally fuming at him the entire time.

She paced some more, but something wouldn’t let her leave. How did she move forward? The link was permanent. The bonding had to happen or the damned frenzy was just going to get worse. Nothing had changed except she was pissed and hurt now and still had to go through with it if she wanted any sanity.

“Let me just tell you how I feel right now. I just got punished with a toy cock and spankings for my crimes, which were petty in comparison to what you’ve done.” Her words were clipped as she stared the male down.

He opened his mouth, but no words came out for a long while. “What are you saying?” he finally asked.

“That you need to pay.” She faced him. “I’ve never been as vulnerable as I was when I first met you. I’ve never felt so raw, and you heard every damned second of those thoughts as I trusted you with everything. Not for a few minutes, for days, Bastian.”

His jaw tightened as he looked at her. “I know, Psihi Mou.” And he was in front of her. His arms wr
apped around her as his jaw rested on her head. She wanted to bat him away as much as she somehow craved comfort from the male who’d hurt her.

“How do you need me to make this right?”

“I don’t know.” She blew out. “You agree right now to any punishment I see fit and we make plans to finish the ceremony.”

  “When?”

“When I know what will make me not hurt.”

Every inch of his body tensed. He had no idea what she’d ask; she wasn’t even sure at the moment. He gave a sharp nod. “With a contingency,” he growled. “No one else.”

She leaned back, frowning. “What do you mean?”

His eyes were hard, his jaw clenched tight enough to break. “I couldn’t handle seeing anyone else touching you. That’s the only thing you can’t ask of me.”

She eyed him seriously as she fought for sanity. “No one else,” she agreed. “Though who said the punishment would be sexual?”

He eyed her seriously and nodded. She just wanted to keep her options open.

It didn’t matter as much as finding Brigitte.

“I think we should check more houses while we can.” She frowned. “We’ll finish the bond tonight?”

  “There are things to arrange.”

“Like what?” she asked, but she wasn’t sure that she cared. She was still too confused by all her emotions and hurt to think of the details.

“The ceremonies are usually in temples in Tetartos.” Before she could even get the words “Hell no” out, he lifted a hand. “I know. Everyone is searching, so it will likely just be Sirena and one of my brothers to watch over the blood bonding.”

“Watch over?” She rubbed her forehead.

He nodded. “We’ll be stuck in our memories. Unconscious, so someone will guard the room.”

She thought about it. “Okay.” Then her mind went to Nastia. Her sister was too worried and guilt ridden to deal with this. Having her sister have to deal with watching Tasha start a life with Bastian would only make her twin feel like Tasha was leaving her when she wasn’t.

  “Nastia?”

“No.” She shook her head slowly.

“Are you sure you don’t want her there?”

“It’s not that I don’t want her there. I don’t want to make her feel more like I’m leaving her forever. She’s my twin, Bastian, that will never happen.” She blew out a breath. “Plus she needs to find Brigitte. At least one of us should still be out there.” She thought about the horrible timing. “What if they find Apollo during the hours we’re blood bonding?”

He frowned then shook his head. “What if it happens when were in the middle of the frenzy? I don’t like the timing any more than you do. Either way we aren’t going to be thinking well.”

And that was the reason she was demanding that they get it over with. Apollo was more likely to wait them out for days or weeks just to make them suffer not knowing what was happening to Brigitte. If they were done by then, they’d be stronger and not have the frenzy riding them. If they waited, they would have less time between mindless need.

Nothing was good, but the odds in waiting seemed worse. “Okay.”

  Chapter 28

  Florida, Earth Realm

Natasha reformed beside her twin on the balcony of their Florida home. Nastia was just staring out at the moonlit sea, completely lost in her own thoughts. She obviously hadn’t gone to the house in France in hopes of avoiding the Phoenix.

“Did you find anything?” she asked her sister.

“No,” Nastia said. “I just needed some air, and then I’m going to look up shop owners’ homes so I can pay visits tonight.”

  “Alone?”

Her twin looked over at her and raised an eyebrow. “Yes. Don’t act like I need a babysitter too.”

  “Is that what Sander said?”

“More or less,” Nastia bit out.

Tasha frowned. Her twin did need a babysitter, at least for tonight. Nastia’s cell phone number was up on the wall of the waterlogged club, and if the God used that number, Nastia would go to the bastard. It wouldn’t matter that she couldn’t get ahold of Tasha and had no links to any backup. She did have Conn’s cell number, but would she use it? She might. She wasn’t stupid, and Tasha didn’t think she’d take chances with Brigitte, but what if there wasn’t time to make a call? What if the God showed up instead?

  They needed to discuss it.

“I’m going to complete the bond with Bastian. Tonight,” she finally said aloud. She’d fought with herself for hours, trying to figure out just how to tell her sister.

Nastia pinned her with a stare. “Tonight?”

“The frenzy is getting worse. It’s intense, and we’re useless for hours when it hits. This will fix it.”

“Are you good with it?” her twin asked seriously.

Tasha was still upset with Bastian, but she didn’t want her twin to be, because Nastia would just get her all upset again. She wanted to start this new life in the way she wanted it to go. She’d mulled everything over and over in her mind, and she knew he’d really wanted to protect her. So she was going to let it go. She had to and she didn’t want her twin telling her she was going too easy on the ass.

She’d tell her sister eventually. She’d have to if Nastia ever got marginally close to accepting the prospect of mating the Phoenix. It didn’t seem likely that would happen anytime soon.

“It needs to happen,” she pointed out. “It’s a gamble, but the odds are better that Apollo won’t come for us until he thinks we’ve suffered. That gives us a potential window, and after the mating is complete, the frenzy won’t drive us insane.”

“Is that what it’s like?” her sister asked.

“Yeah.” She ran her hands through her hair. “It gets to the point where it’s all we can think about. I got sharp pains earlier from waiting too long, but even without the pain, I just couldn’t think about anything else.” Nastia watched her as she continued. “I felt guilty and horrible because Brigitte needs us, but I couldn’t focus on finding her when it hit the last time.” She shook her head as more guilt ate her up.

Bastian’s voice sounded in her mind. I won’t leave Nastia without mental backup for the hours that we’re unconscious. I don’t know that a telepathic call would break through during our blood bonding. Convince her to partner with Sacha, unless she’d rather go with Sander.

She stilled for a second and closed her eyes. I will. Bastian considering her twin helped validate her decision to move on. The hurt wasn’t gone, not completely, but it would be eventually.

She knew Nastia could take care of herself, but that wasn’t the point. Leaving her without backup wasn’t going to happen. She just had to convince her of that.

“I need you to do me a favor,” Tasha told her sister.

Nastia was already eying her suspiciously and now her eyes narrowed.

She decided to explain the situation first, but she had no problem with manipulating her twin into doing what she asked of her. “When Bastian and I complete the blood bond, we’ll be in each other’s memories. The way I understand it, important moments in our lives will run in flashes through our minds for hours.”

Her twin gasped in obvious horror. “You have to be joking.”

  Tasha shook her head.

“You’re okay with that?” Her twin shook her head, her mouth gaping.

Tasha nodded. “I don’t think his memories will be any better than mine.” She eyed her twin. “And I think it’ll be worth it in the end.” She did. Or maybe she was just telling herself that to get through it all. The worst of her memories were centuries old. He’d know that she was made for one thing. Killing Gods. That was why she and Nastia had been created, but she’d gone beyond that and made a damned good existence for herself and her twin in the centuries since Apollo had been put to sleep.

The more she thought about everything, the better she felt about moving forward, but that didn’t mean she and her twin didn’t have things to hash out
.

“Why didn’t you ever tell me about Sander?” she finally asked.

“I didn’t know what was happening in the beginning,” Nastia pointed out. “I didn’t think any of the visits would come back to bite me in the ass either.” Her sister sighed.

“You figured it out when Bastian told us the mating stuff, yet you still gave me shit for being with him,” Tasha pointed out.

“First, I never acted on my craziness.” Tasha was just about to call bullshit when her twin moved on. “I didn’t sleep with him. I just kind of watched him.”

  “You stalked him!”

She watched her sister’s dark skin flush and then Nastia groaned. “Fine. Yes… a little.”

Tasha waited and was rewarded with more from her twin. “I didn’t admit it because it can’t happen.” Her twin ran her fingers through her hair. “I’m not like you, Tasha. I’m not the mother type, and the Phoenix and I would kill each other in some kind of constant fight for dominance. We aren’t compatible.”

She wondered how much Nastia was kidding herself. Yes, she liked control, but she might be surprised how nice it was to give it over to a male who was up to the challenge. She wasn’t sure if Sander was good for her sister or not, but the Creators would never have chosen a Guardian who wasn’t ultimately a good male. And he’d wanted to protect Nastia earlier. He’d been pissed, and rightfully so, but he’d shadowed her twin and covered her back. That had to count for something. “How was he today?”

“He’s not a fan.” Her twin snorted, but she didn’t seem pleased. “He wants to make me pay for sneaking around and getting in his head.”

“You were in his bed too while he slept, or was he just making that up?” She cocked a brow at her twin.
