  1982 to 1984 Other Races

  Ayrton Senna had five main careers in karting, Formula Ford 1600, Formula Ford 2000, Formula 3 and Formula One. But between 1982 and 1984 he alo had one-off races in saloon and sports cars. In 1982 he drove his one and only celebrity race at Oulton Park in the north of England. In May 1984 he competed in a race for Formula One drivers current and retired in identical Mercedes 190s which he won. Later that year he had one off run in a world championship saloon car race in a Porsche 956.

  Ayrton Senna won eight series championships in his 13 years of driving cars. It is an unmatched record that will never likely be beaten. Only Mika Hakkinen comes close in this battle and Nelson Piquet also won many championships. Alain Prost was also a multiple series winner.
