The open shirt displayed more marks and an impressive set of abs, but the nipple and random piercing on his flesh made her queasy.

  "I decline your offer."

"What? Do you know how far I have come?"

"I don't care. I have my mates here and while not Bascu, they will produce strong children who will have more than a name to remember their fathers by." She stepped back and her Regens closed ranks around her.

"Regens? You reject one of your own kind in favour of Regens?"

She smiled and wrapped one hand around Kenner's arm and one around Josu's. "Each of them has no less than four donor genes within. That makes twenty-eight fathers for my children and the strongest genetic line that any Bascu has seen in years. Go away."

He looked like he would argue, but her men took one step forward and he scrambled back onto his ship.

Her prince of the Bascu had come and gone and she was very happy with her seven companions.

  Six months later…

Kai grinned at his brother-in-law. Josu looked exhausted. "What have you been up to?"

Josu rubbed his hair, "Our wife requires additional genetic material, so we have been working around the clock to provide her with it."

It was code for the fact that Skeeter was hornier than hell.

"Well, my son will be here within the week and I was wondering if you and yours would like to come for the naming ceremony."

"Our arrangement will not offend anyone?"

"If they do, you have my authorization to punch them. How is Skeeter doing?"

Since Hellara was almost due, Kai found that he had an inborn concern for any woman carrying a new life.

"She is well, the twins are fine." That was a shock. Bascu never had twins.

After a few more pleasantries, Kai signed off. Giving his brothers-in-law the moon retreat had been a tactical decision. He wanted them near in case another issue came up within his realm, but he wanted them to have enough privacy to enjoy the lives that had been designed for the purpose of war.

With Skeeter in their midst, they were going to have a lot of fun and when their daughters arrived, that bundle of Regens would evolve far beyond their original design. Fatherhood would suit them, but Kai thought with a smile, he pitied any male who tried to court one of their Bascu daughters.

Their lives were about to go from complacent to fascinating and he couldn't wait until his son met his new cousins.

His poor palace would never be the same.

  About the Author

Viola Grace was born in Manitoba, Canada where she still resides today. She really likes it there. She has no pets and can barely keep sea monkeys alive for a reasonable amount of time. Her line of day job tends to be analytical which leaves her mind hopping to weave stories. No co-worker is safe from her character analysis. In keeping with busy hands are happy hands, her hobbies have included cross-stitch, needlepoint, quilting, costuming, cake decorating, baking, cooking, metal work, beading, sculpting, painting, doll making, henna tattoos, chain mail, and a few others that have been forgotten. It is quite often that these hobbies make their way into her tales.

Viola's fetishes include boots and corsetry, and her greatest weakness is her uncontrollable blush. Her writing actively pursues the Happily Ever After that so rarely occurs in nature. It is an admirable thing and something that we should all strive for. To find one that we truly like, as well as love.
