She glanced again at the clock. Maybe they had time after all. She smiled down at Stacey in a way intended to leave no doubt in her mind at what she planned to do to her. Stripping off her pants and tossing them carelessly on the floor, Jade climbed on top of her holding her arms firmly down pinning her to the bed. Her mouth dominated Stacey’s as she kissed her hard and long thrusting her tongue deep into Stacey’s mouth letting go of on one arm so she could tangle her hand in Stacey’s hair. Yanking Stacey’s head back she heard her gasp in surprise. Looking into Stacey’s eyes she saw the excitement flare in them which made it even hotter. Dropping a few kisses on that delicate exposed neck, she then licked her fingers on her free hand. She pushed two saliva lubricated fingers into Stacey’s anus and finger fucked her tight hole deep and hard. Hearing Stacey moan with pleasure her own excitement grew hot and intense until she felt her own juices drip down her inner thighs. Now it was time for the main course. Moving down to her favorite position between Stacey’s beautifully shaped legs Jade had her in a way that was very satisfactory to them both. Now it was time for Stacey to return the favor, having that tactile tongue lick her in all the right places. Laying back on the bed, Jade’s look at her young lover told her all she needed to know as she obediently took her place between Jade’s spread legs. Coming several times against that tongue Jade felt wonderfully relaxed and buoyant like she had just drank a glass of wine.

Getting up, she again pinned Stacey down on the bed. “You ready to get up now?” Stacey looked at her with such adoration that she wanted to fuck her all over again but restrained herself.

“Yes, I’m ready now.” A big smile broke across her face. “You know how to make mornings full of sunshine.”

She laughed and let her go. Walking over to the bathroom she washed her hands while asking “Do you want to take the first shower?”

“Or to save time we could take one together.”

Coming back out Jade arched an eyebrow at her. “Do you really think that’ll save time?”

“No but it would be a fun way to waste some time.”

Jade genuinely laughed. So often in the past her laughter had been like the canned laughter employed during T.V. sitcoms but not now. Now she was suffused with the light of true joy and her laughter reflected it. It was like being dipped in warm honey the sweetness saturating everything making it palatable as she stood in this not very nice room with this wonderful woman.

“I’ll tell you what. You start and maybe I’ll join you.”

Stacey gave a little pout. “Okay but I doubt that you will.”

“You better get going otherwise I’ll come over there and give you a spanking.”

She stuck her tongue out and said, “Promises, promises.”

Truly amused and enjoying Stacey’s flirtation with her, Jade said, “Oh so you do like to be spanked. I’ll have to make sure I deliver on that promise soon.”

Giving in with a very flirty smile, she headed off to the bathroom. In reality all Jade really wanted to do was find a place they could stay put for a week, spending it in bed day and night if they wanted to. But with the astute Sandy picking up on who she might be, she didn’t want to stick around giving her more time to figure it out. Plus she didn’t like Sal. His type had a way of infecting everything around them and destroying it. It was a shame his uncle couldn’t see that Sal wasn’t worth helping.

Packing up as Stacey finished in the bathroom, she collected all the DVDs to be returned. Even though she hadn’t given Sal a credit card imprint he could use she still planned to ask for a receipt naming all the returned DVDs simply because she didn’t like him.

Hearing the blow dryer in the background, she knew Stacey was just about done as she continued packing up their stuff. As she opened the door to the warm living room the smell of rotting lettuce hit her. She had forgotten about their salads. Wrinkling her nose and holding her breath, she took the garbage bag out of the bin underneath the desk. She picked up the food containers with disgusted fingers, placed the food in the bag and tossed it out the front door.

Coming back into the bedroom she saw Stacey standing there with her makeup carefully applied and her hair cascading loose down her back in a mass of waves and ringlets, she looked like Venus reborn.

She was painfully aware of her own disheveled appearance. If she wanted to keep this beautiful young woman she was going to have to step up her game.

  “Stacey, you are exquisite.”

Her golden sherry-colored eyes looked at her with true warmth. “I want to look nice for you.”

“Oh baby, you do look nice. Can I hold you?”

  “Of course.”

Holding Stacey in her arms and smelling her sweet scent was a memory she knew she would cherish. It was such a simple moment of closeness that it burned into her heart. Kissing her softly on the top of her head, she said gruffly, “Well I guess I better go get ready.”

Pulling away, she felt Stacey hold her fast. Looking down into her eyes Jade was shaken to the centre of her soul. In a flash of insight, she knew beyond all doubt that this woman was meant for her and she was meant for Stacey. The two of them knew each other without really knowing each other. Somehow they were bound together. She couldn’t say the words “I love you” yet but she felt them in every way that mattered.

  “Stacey…” Jade said.

  “I know,” she simply said.

She felt everything tumble down inside her like a house of cards. All the things she had thought were important had turned out to be empty and meaningless, leaving her a walking, talking void. Now this woman who stood before her was filling her up, making her whole, teaching her to be happy and to love.

She found it hard to meet Stacey’s eyes and that was an unusual turn of events. The electricity between them was palpable but it wasn’t sexual. It was a feeling of I see you and you see me. We understand each other.

Unnerved, she shakily laughed it off, breaking the spell. “Guess I’d better get into the shower. If you want to think about where you’d like to go next that’d be great.” As she walked past Stacey she could still feel the energy between the two of them. An irrepressible grin spread over her face as she hopped in the shower. She turned on the taps and dared to dream about a happy future with Stacey.

Jade had done the packing so Stacey began moving the bags into the living room wrinkling her nose up at the lingering odor of rotting salad. She allowed her mind to luxuriate in thoughts about the morning in bed with Jade and the wonderful closeness with their bodies curled up together. She’d turned in the bed onto her side so she could face her. Then she’d just laid there watching her sleep, taking in every beautiful line of her face. Reaching out she had softly traced her full lips wondering how someone with such sensual lips could pull off being so stern.

Feeling aroused she had loosen Jade’s sweatpants and slipped her fingers down between her legs and began stroking her sweet spot. All the while watching her face as it reacted to the pleasure her body was feeling. Her breathing had quickened and she woke up looking directly into her eyes. Stacey was dizzy with all the many chaotic emotions churning through her.

Running her fingers distractedly through her hair, she sat on the couch. Jade was her soul mate, she was sure of that and it wasn’t the money. The only problem was that, as progressive as the world might want to think it was, it still believed the only soul mate a person could have was someone of the opposite sex. Stacey’s soul mate was a woman.

The sound of the blow dryer in the bathroom ceased and she heard the door open. Pulling herself together she looked up as she came into the room greeting her with a smile. Jade wrapped the cord around the hair dryer and then stuck it in the side pouch of the suitcase.

“I have to run in to the front desk and dropped off those DVDs to good ol’ Sal. Did you want to go in and pick up some of their muffins and cookies for the trip? Oh and you might as well get some coffee to go.”

“Sure,” She said getting up. She had kept her
distance from Sal getting bad vibes from him. If he could get her alone she was sure he wouldn’t take no for an answer. Guys like that were dangerous because they thought every woman was dying to be with them. Nothing could be further from the truth, but they wouldn’t believe otherwise.

After the SUV was loaded up they drove over to the lodge. Stacey went into the restaurant and Jade went into the lobby to drop off the DVDs. She made Sal give her a receipt listing all twenty DVDs so there was no way he could put a charge through on a credit card.

He complained vociferously but it delighted her to make the slug do some extra work.

“But I gave a receipt showing you paid for them in cash,” he whined. “Why do you need another one listing them all? Besides I don’t even know where you’re from so how could I send you a bill?”

Jade gave him her patented icy stare. “Because I asked for it and as a paying guest you’ll give it to me.”

She thought she heard him mutter something about a bitch under his breath.

  “What was that, Sal?”

“I still don’t see why you need it. Can’t charge you for nothing. I don’t even know your first name.”

  “I still want it.”

There was fury in every movement of the man as he finished the receipt listing all twenty DVDs as being returned and slammed it on the counter.

She gave him a bright and sunny smile. “Thank you very much. And by the way we only watched two,” she tossed over her shoulder as she walked away. Sal glared after her furiously.

Watching Jade walk out, Sal thought he’d like to catch her alone, drag her out to his place, tie her up and show her a thing or two about how a woman should respect a man. A few moments later Stacey walked up to the vehicle, her hands full. Jade opened the door for her and helped her in. The women spoke – he could see their lips move – but he couldn’t hear what was said. Sal leered at the sexy little brunette wishing he could see her naked. What would it be like to pump himself into every hole she had? She’d probably be begging for more, he thought as his cock swelled.

Lost in his far flung fantasy about Stacey, Sal became aware that Jade was watching him.

The look she gave Sal literally sent a chill down his spine, and his cock flopped limply. Despite his far gone fantasies about teaching her a lesson, Sal had a feeling that one would eat him for breakfast.

Jade maintained the eye contact and Sal found it impossible to look away. Sweat broke out on his forehead. It was like looking into the eyes of a predator. Without words she was saying, one wrong move and I’ll attack. But why was she so protective of her friend?

Breaking eye contact with the vile man, Jade turned and smiled at Stacey and shut the door for her. Getting in the driver’s seat she said, “That guy’s a pig. Why they ever let him work on reception is beyond my imagination. Anybody who’s got a daughter within ten miles of that guy better watch out.”

  “Thanks, Jade.”

“For what?” she said absently as she reached for her sunglasses and put them on against the glare of the snow.

  “Looking out for me.”

She smiled. “Well isn’t that what I’m supposed to do? After all I’m much older than you and way more bossy. I’m a shoo-in for the job.”

“It feels nice. It makes me feel like I matter.”

She was quiet for a moment. “You matter to me.”

Glancing quickly at her, Jade could see she was close to tears. Had no one ever shown her a simple act of kindness or caring? Had it always been about taking from her? Maybe her dad had but Stacey had only been five years old or so when he died. After that she had been on her own. Trying to distract her from her sadness, she said, “We never did decide where to go next – north or south?”

It worked because Stacey turned to her, her expression bright with excitement. No trace of tears now. “Hmmm…I say north. I want to see some more snow.”

“Oh you say that now, but you wait until you’ve been living with me in Manhattan for a bit and then you’ll be singing a different tune. Especially when we have a phenomenal snowstorm in March and it’s supposed to be spring.”

Jade felt a surge of adrenaline in her gut as she realized what she had just said. By alluding to the fact that she expected Stacey to be with her in the spring, she had put another brick in the growing wall of their relationship.

She couldn’t tell if Stacey had noticed or not, for all the girl said was, “Well then I’d have to say you were right.”

She chuckled. “Thanks for agreeing with me. I give the snow a hard time but it is pretty and it’s not Christmas without snow. So, we’ve decided north. Now where north?”

“You know what? I’d like to go to Salt Lake City.”

Jade looked at her quizzically. “Where all the Mormons are? I thought that’s why you didn’t want to stay at St. George’s?”

Stacey tilted her head to one side and looked so prettily at her that it was hard to resist. Is this what men have to deal with? Jade thought, looking at that beautiful pleading face and feeling any resistance she had dissolve.

“Okay, Salt Lake City it is.”

Stacey clasped her hands together. “Oh thank you, Jade.”

“You’re welcome. Let’s set the GPS and start heading there.”

Sandy and Mitch drove up to the Gateway Inn Lodge to drop off the money for Sal. Mitch made Sandy go in. Walking up to the front desk she wondered again why Sal’s uncle let him work here. He was so distasteful.

Handing the envelope over to him, Sandy asked if Jade and Stacey had checked out.

Sal grunted a yes. “She signed in as J. Taylor so I never did know her first name.”

“Jade Taylor,” Sandy said almost to herself. “That’s so close to Jade Tanner that I wonder if it was her.”

Sal looked at her. “If she says she Jade Taylor why would you think she’s someone called Jade Tanner,” he asked in a confused tone.

Realizing that he had heard her, Sandy explained, “Oh, I had a notion that she’s Jade Tanner. A billionaire who is the founder and CEO of Jade Cosmetics and Tanner Enterprises. She has the moneyed air about her, and I dunno, for some reason I thought it was her. Right age – looks the part.” Sandy shrugged and kind of smiled. “Maybe I’m just in la la land.”

“You don’t say.” Sal’s eyes narrowed curiously. She now wished she hadn’t said anything as Sal seemed a little too interested. Time to get the hell out of there. Telling Sal that Mitch was most likely getting impatient she left, not even saying good-bye.

  * * * *

Sandy’s quick exit was fine with him because he wanted to go to the women’s room. If she was this mega-rich Jade Tanner, maybe she left a big tip behind. He planned to get it before anyone else did. The minute he was free he stuffed the cash in his wallet, grabbed the master key and put the ‘back in five minutes’ sign on the lobby door.

Entering the cabin he looked around the living room and found nothing. Next stop was the bedroom and what he discovered there made him stop in his tracks. Only one bed had been used.

Pulling back the sheets there was ample evidence of what they had been up to. The sheet was mussed up on both sides, both pillows had indentations from their heads and, by all that was holy, there were even bodily fluid stains on the sheets. Sal leaned over and sniffed deeply, inhaling the beautiful scent of their pussy fluids impregnated in the cotton. He licked it, tasting the tanginess. His swollen cock strained against his pants and Sal hastily unzipped and pulled it out, climbing on the bed to kneel in the centre, facing the pillow end.

His imagination ran wild with images of the two women sucking and licking the most intimate parts of each other’s bodies, playing with each other’s breasts, sliding their fingers into each other’s wet juicy spot and giving each other a good finger fucking. He half closed his eyes and brought up Stacey’s image, placing her before him on the bed, her ass spread wide and inviting as she bent he
r head forward to work the ice queen bitch Jade. In his imagination he grabbed those soft cheeks and plunged into her hard from behind, thrusting without mercy, over and over, hearing her screams and moans. He yelled hoarsely, coming all over the sheets.

Thinking about Stacey and how familiar she looked, he now had an idea of where he had seen her before. If his hunch was right it could be a big payday for him.

He stripped the beds and took the bundle to where Beatrice, a lady who did odd chores and rented a cabin at the Gateway in the off season, was filling the bird feeders. He dumped the bundle at her feet.

“You don’t need to strip the beds in Cabin 12. I’ve already done it.”

Beatrice looked at him strangely. This was out of character for him he knew, as he was lazy by nature and did as little as possible.

Blustering a little, he said, “Well I had to go in there and check for DVD’s they borrowed — twenty they took.”

“So, were they there?” Beatrice asked looking at him coldly.

“No, damn bitches stole them. Can’t even charge them ‘cuz they didn’t leave me a credit card imprint. Suckered me in real good.” Sal was really warming up to his theme now that he’d got started. “You can’t trust anyone these days, Beatrice, no matter how good they look. This will be a lesson to me to always get an imprint no matter how much they sweet talk.” Looking gloomy, he sighed. “Now I’ll probably have to pay for them.” Feeling like he’d covered his ass, he pointed to the bundle at her feet. “Since I was up there I thought I might as well strip the beds for you.” Walking away, he could have sworn he heard her say, “Don’t do me any favors lard ass.”

  Chapter Nine

Anthony lay on the leather couch in the perfectly appointed living room that belonged to him and his partner, Brendan, and worried about Jade. The drink Brendan had made him sat untouched on the end table beside him. Something of a gourmet chef, Brendan was in the kitchen making supper.
