She laughed. Nothing warmed her heart more than seeing Stacey’s genuine happiness. “Well I’m glad you’re so happy. You’d better make a list though of everything we’ll need for Reilly. And have a long talk with the shelter staff about him. I think we’d better get a good idea of his idiosyncrasies so we know what we’re dealing with.”

Stacey nodded obediently. “I’ll have a long talk with Tiffany.” Placing her hand on Jade’s leg she said, “Thanks for giving them the money too. It’ll be put to good use there.”

Jade glanced at her. “I know but it’s not going to be enough for them to become a no kill Shelter. I’m not offering any more of my money but I’m thinking with my connections, we could host one hell of a charity event. Probably set them up for life.”

“Jade if you weren’t driving I’d do you right now.”

  “I could stop and park.”

She smirked. “I won’t say no to that.”

She reached over and ruffled her hair. “I think I’ll save you for tonight.

“And I might have to spank your bum so you don’t become too spoiled.”

Excitement curled its way through her when she thought about spanking Stacey’s pretty little bum. Spankings were one of Stacey’s turn-ons she had discovered and it was quite the delight to administer it on her well-toned butt.

“Weeeellll, if you think I need it.” She pretended to pout.

“Pouting’s guaranteed to get your pretty little bum spanked.”

Now with this thought in mind Jade found it hard to think about anything else.

That night after everything was said and done, with Stacey’s bum a little warm from her spanking, she curled up next to Jade basking in the afterglow of great sex. She felt pleasantly drowsy as she thought about Reilly. Tonight would be his last night at the shelter. He’d come home with them as part of their family. Today they had gone shopping for all the dog accessories they needed and had gone overboard. It really was pre-Christmas for Reilly.

Thinking back to the look on Jade’s face when she agreed to get Reilly, she rolled over looking at her. Feeling Stacey’s gaze upon her, Jade’s green eyes slowly opened.

“I thought you had fallen asleep.”

“I almost did but I started to think about Reilly. What made you change your mind?”

“I told you I was thinking about my dog Beau that I had growing up.”

“Yah but the look you had on your face wasn’t one of happy recollection. It was more a look of dismay.”

Stacey’s eyes held compassion. There was sadness here and she wanted Jade to share her story with her. “Beauregard saved me one time and I had completely forgotten about it. I didn’t remember until I was standing there looking at Reilly and then it all came back to me. I don’t know if it was a blessing or a curse to remember but it’s what made me decide to take him.”

“Do you feel like talking about it? I mean it must have been pretty traumatic if you forgot it so completely.”

Jade looked at her for a few seconds. “Nothing like what you’ve been through.”

Sighing she rolled over on her back. Stacey laid her head on her chest.

“It was a handyman my grandmother had taken on. He was always strange but could do anything and do it well. Plus his price was right. Grandma always told me stay away from him but one time he cornered me in the barn. I must have been about nine or ten and he was stuffing his cock in my mouth and he kept telling me to suck it. I couldn’t scream out loud but I remember screaming in my mind for Beauregard and then there he was. It was like he heard me.” She turned and looked at Stacey. “He saved me and now I owe it to him to save someone else and that’s Reilly. It’ll be the most fitting tribute I can give him.”

  “Oh Jade, I’m so sorry.”

“Don’t feel sorry for me nothing happened. I was one of the lucky ones. The thing about it was my Grandma chased him off of our property with her shotgun and told him if he ever tried anything like that again she’d shoot him. She never called the police though so he packed up and left town.

“It makes me wonder what kind of havoc he’s caused because my grandmother didn’t report him. How many other young girls did he destroy before me and then after me because no one said anything. That’s what I keep thinking about now is who he molested and raped after me. Who knows maybe even killed. When I tried to talk to my Grandmother about it she acted like it never even happened and maybe that’s why I shut it away in my mind for so long because it almost became like it never really did.”

She was crying now. Stacey pulled her into her arms and Jade rested her head on Stacey as she stroked and soothed her.

Settling down in her arms Jade looked up at her. “But what I went through it’s not even one millionth of what you went through. You’re stronger than you know Stacey Jackson.”

She smiled at her. Bending down she kissed her on her lips. As they parted Jade reached up and stroked her face. The absolute look of surrender in her eyes took Stacey’s breath away. “I love you Jade Tanner,” she said simply. Her hopes and dreams were bound up with this woman who lay beside her. Her glorious taut lithe body pressed up against her.

“I love you,” Jade responded, the heartfelt emotion loud and clear in those three words.

Stacey nodded slowly looking deeply into her clear green eyes. “I do know that you love me.” Reaching over she softly caressed Jade’s face before bending down to kiss her. Tongues touched and tangled in intimate contact. In mutual harmony, they both moved deeper underneath covers entwining their bodies together until they merged into one. Their physical lovemaking an expression of their genuine love for each other.

The next morning the heighten intimacy between the two women was palpable. Like an electric current stretch between the two of them they were so in tune with each other’s nuances and emotions. They needed to be at the shelter by nine-thirty and it was already nine.

Stacey came out of the bathroom with a towel wrapped around her. Jade stared moodily at her. Growing wet and throbbing at the sight of her towel clad body. The woman could make anything look sexy. The tip of her tongue tickled with the memory of the taste of her sweet spot between her legs. She turned her back on her and began brushing her hair to its high gloss shine. Laying the brush down she glanced at Stacey in the mirror. She had dropped the towel to the floor standing there totally nude as she looked through her clothes in the walk-in closet deciding what to wear.

With her eyes she traced her body, the lushness of her breast down to the graceful curve of her waist over the flatness of her stomach down towards her beautiful pussy that held her secret delight.

With her mouth dry she turned and fled to the living room. She had always been in control and now this one young woman made her lose control every single time.

Stacey came into living room dressed with her hair still damp, as it began to curl and wave around her.

Looking at her for a moment, she said, “You do realize that you have the full right to look at my body and enjoy it don’t you?”

Jade felt her entire face flush. What was wrong with her? Acting like a schoolgirl which was something she had never ever done while in school.

To her horror she heard herself stammer out an answer. Never once in her life could she recall had she ever stammered or stuttered.

Stacey was up beside her with her arms around her neck smiling up into her eyes.

“Is this how men feel?” she thought miserably. “Like putty in a beautiful woman’s hands.”

Reaching up Stacey kissed her on her lips. “We’d better go before they decide we’re not coming and give Reilly to someone else.

As they drove to the animal shelter, Stacey rested her hand on Jade’s thigh enjoying the warmth seeping through her jean clad leg. She thought about sneaking it up and resting it on her crotch but that would be taken as an invitation for a sex pit stop. And while normally she didn’t mind, she was anxious to pick up Reilly from the shelter. She was worried they might think
they changed their minds and weren’t coming. Part of her knew she was paranoid especially after Jade had donated three hundred thousand dollars to the shelter. Still there was that little girl part in her still scared of losing something she so dearly wanted.

Pulling up in front of the shelter they got out and walked in. Reilly was waiting by the front reception desk freshly shampooed and polished for his new home.

Sitting up he wagged he tail mightily at their approached as if he already knew this was his new family. Tiffany was holding his leash.

Tiffany explained that Reilly was really a good dog but he suffered from severe separation anxiety. If left by himself he was most likely to be destructive.

Jade looked down at the knee high dog with the smiling face. “What do you think he’s got in him?”

“Looks like he’s a mixture of blue heeler and collie. His coat takes after the collie but the coloring is that of a blue heeler.”

All in all it made a very attractive little dog. “He’s got high energy dogs in him. He’ll need lots of exercise.”

Tiffany nodded vigorously. “I personally think that’s been the failing with the other families that adopted him. They couldn’t find the time to exercise or train him properly.”

Jade reached down and scratched him behind the ears. “Looks like I’ve got myself a new jogging buddy. I haven’t been for a really good run since I left New York. I guess you and me will start running together, Mr. Reilly.

“Now I really have no excuse not to go. Do I buddy?” she said tickling him under the chin.

Reilly delighted with this attention tried to lick her face. She laughed and pushed him back down.

Tiffany handed the leash over to Stacey who happily accepted it.

Turning to Jade, Tiffany said, “Ms. Robichaud the shelter manager would like to have a word with you. Do you have some time?”

“Please call me, Jade,” she said. She smiled at Tiffany warm and friendly. “I would be happy to talk to her for a few minutes.”

Tiffany disappeared into an office. A few moments later a tall woman with large luminous grey eyes came out walking toward them with Tiffany in tow. “Ms. Tanner and Ms. Jackson. What a pleasure to meet you both!

“I understood you were here yesterday. Unfortunately I was out investigating a complaint regarding a suspected puppy mill, so I missed meeting you then. Anyhow that’s none of your concern.” Extending her hand she introduced herself as Tannis Robichaud.

“Thank you both for your generous donation as it will certainly help. Pausing for a moment she pursed her lips. “But it will not help us build and fund a no kill shelter. Every time I have to put one of God’s creatures down it breaks my heart.”

Jade already knew what was coming before the words were even uttered, so she forestalled it by saying, “A charity event is what you need with my name attached to it. Stacey and I have already discussed it briefly.”

Tannis looked fully at her, her beautiful grey eyes filled with hope. “Ms. Tanner would you do us the honor of lending your name to a Charity function for our animal shelter?”

Getting caught up in the moment inspiration struck Stacey. “In fact we can call it Beauregard’s Memorial Foundation for the Well-being and Protection of Animals.”

“You’re talking about creating a charitable foundation, not simply hosting a charity event.” Jade cautioned.

Her face fell and Jade felt like a heel. Sighing she looked down at the dog sitting so nicely at Stacey’s feet. It was hard to believe he caused any kind of trouble but appearances were deceiving, and said, “We can talk about.”

Not caring who was watching Stacey whooped and looped her arms around Jade’s neck. Kissing her hard on the lips several times, Jade could feel a faint heat creep up her neck. Several people were standing around watching.

Feeling ashamed of herself for being embarrassed, she pulled Stacey closer and kissed her back. Stepping away she looked over and met the eyes of Tannis who was smiling at her with genuine warmth. “Love is hard to find so when we do we need to hang on to it.” With those simple words she made everything okay.

“Thank you.” In those two words Jade’s heartfelt gratitude was understood.

“Oh don’t thank me for stating what should be obvious to everyone. And if you’re agreeing to host the charity event we should be thanking you.”

Again, Jade felt more thawing in her innermost secret parts. Grinning at Tannis, she said, “I’d love to.”

Stacey by this time was clinging to her side and Jade had her arm around her. “I’ll tell you what, Stacey and I will have to discuss a game plan and I’ll see what big names I can round up for the event. We’ll make your no kill shelter happen,” she promised.

Tannis nodded her head at her. “You’re a good woman Ms. Tanner and good women are hard to keep down.”

  “Call me Jade, please.”

“Jade it is then. I look forward to talking to you and Stacey, in the next little while about how we can make it happened.”

“It’s going to have to happen fast because I need to be back in New York right after Christmas. We’ll have to host it the weekend after next. But don’t worry. I’ve got a lot of good people I can call on and endless resources.”

Tannis looked at her and a genuine liking passed between the two women. They could be good friends, not lovers like she was with Stacey, but really good friends.

Tannis nodded and waved as they walked out the door with Reilly. She had a really good feeling about this and more often than not her feelings were right.

  Chapter Fourteen

Colin was frustrated with his lack of progress on Jade and Stacey. He felt like a man dying of thirst with a glass of water just out of his reach. He could see it but unless he could reach it, it didn’t do him any good.

He had located the house where Jade had stayed. The property management company that owned it regularly dealt with the very wealthy who were quite often misbehaving. There was no way they were going to jeopardize their clientele by spilling the beans and confirming Jade Tanner had rented the house.

He had gotten a little excited when he was able to find out that the Ford Escape they had arrived at the Grand Canyon in had been dropped off at Salt Lake City and exchanged for a Jeep. Damn, he had been right there but there was no way he could have known this. Still, it appeared that his inner sense was working. If only he had trusted it he would have scouted around Salt Lake City asking questions. You never knew who saw what.

Using all his winning charm, he tried to convince an OnStar employee that he was trying to locate someone in danger. Couldn’t they simply give him the GPS coordinates for the Jeep? He was told in no uncertain terms to call the police if he were that concerned.

Now he was at a dead end. Today was Wednesday and he had a few more days to come up with something concrete. It wasn’t enough time. Running his hands through his hair, he got up and poured himself a very strong drink, praying to whatever gods happen to be out there to give him a break.

Back in the cozy house in Kalispell, Jade was showering after almost killing herself with a five mile run. It was hard to believe that after only a couple of weeks of no exercise how she already felt it.

She was very glad to see Reilly lagging by the end of the run, after which he had thirstily lapped up some water and collapsed on his dog bed.

While she was in the shower, domesticity was happening in the kitchen where Stacey was preparing supper.

Meaningful happiness was becoming a common emotion for her. Humming a tune in the shower, thinking about sitting with Stacey at the dinner table, discussing things over a glass of wine made her want to cry with the sheer joy of it.

There had been a shifting of her priorities. Work was already far less important to her. People were drawn to her as she was way more approachable and down to earth instead of arrogant and cold. Much of this was due to Stacey who despite all she had been through was somehow a very warm loving person.r />
Generous with her body and her spirit, she was helping Jade find her true centre. The fake centre she had put so much stock in was slowly crumbling away showing the core of who she really was. And she liked this new person much better than the old one.

In the kitchen Stacey was preparing chicken cordon bleu. The garden salad was already prepared and in the fridge with the asparagus and the florets of broccoli and cauliflower ready to be blanched.

Looking down at her stomach, she critically examined its flatness to see if there was any noticeable weight gain from her indulgent eating over the past while.

She made a promise to use the exercise equipment in the basement tomorrow. She wanted to stay attractive for Jade.

Aware of men throwing glances at her, she found it meant nothing to her. It was Jade’s smile, the softness in her eyes when she looked at her that made her weak in the knees. Her touch sent a thousand lightning bolts through her body making her groin ache with such carnal lust that only she could satisfy. She realized she hated being touched by overbearing clients who purchased her body and took it any way they wanted. The only way she had gotten through her lifestyle was with the help of drugs and alcohol. She was very lucky she didn’t have any serious issues. Many of the girls did but unless she was working, she stayed far away from overindulging in either one.

Now with Jade she longed to be caressed by her touch. She was melted butter when it came to her and the unbelievable orgasms she had against Jade’s tongue was an added bonus. In bed they were magic together and now that magic was seeping into other areas of their life.

Coming out of her reverie, Stacey was aware that she was wet and breathing hard.

She listened for the shower. It was no longer running, so Jade was done.

Putting the chicken in the oven on a low setting, she went in search of Jade for some sexual relief.

She entered the bedroom and their eyes met in the mirror. Jade, who had been combing out her long wet dark hair, immediately put the comb down and walked over to her and pushed her down onto the bed.
