The Case of the Unconquered Sisters

Page 17

by Todd Downing

Cornell is well and sends her best wishes. We are very happy and have rented a small house. I wish you could see it. It is very nice and comfortable.

We had a letter from Monica last week, and she says that she is coming up on a visit next month. She says she is going to stay several months, as she thinks Cornell will need her. We are very glad to have her come to visit us, but I do not really think it is necessary.

You may see Monica, since she is coming through Laredo, and writes that she is bringing some baby clothes that she and Lucy made, and she wants to know if she will have to pay duty on them. She says she hopes you can arrange it, because she does not think there ought to be a duty on such things. I do not know.

Well, I must close as it is getting late.

  Very sincerely yours,

  John Clay Biggers
