He finished slaughtering the children's song and kissed her belly. "How was that?"

"Horrible, and you know it," she said. "You're great in many ways, but vocal performance isn't your forte. We're supposed to be playing Mozart for the baby."

"Bull," Abe said. "Mozart isn't going to pay for my child's education. Mozart isn't going to get up for middle of the night feedings. Mozart isn't going to change messy diapers."

"And you are?" she asked, lifting her eyebrows.

He lifted his hand as if he was making an oath. "On my honor, I will get up for middle of the night feedings and change messy diapers. But not all of them," he added and rolled to her side. He caressed her belly with his hand. "As long as I get you all to myself sometimes."

Her heart fluttered at the seductive expression in his eyes. It amazed her that he could want her so much when her body seemed huge. "I like it when you get me all to yourself."

"Good," he said, moving his hand up to cup her breast. "I love your body."

She shook her head. "I look like a beached whale."

He shook his head. "No, you remind me of a ripe juicy peach that I want to devour every day." He took her mouth in a kiss. "Are you too tired tonight?"

She shook her head. "No." Feeling her body heat in anticipation, she nuzzled his chest. "You have a wonderful way of making me forget I'm tired."

"I'm so lucky," he said. "So lucky. To have you as my wife, to give me a child." He kissed her. "And to give me back the children I felt like I'd lost."

Nicola pinched herself for the millionth time. Abe had given her love and a family. Everything she'd wanted but never had, he'd given her.

"Are you pinching yourself again?" he asked.

  She smiled and laughed. "Yes."

"No pinching allowed," he told her. "I've got better things in mind for your body."

  Better was an understatement.
